I am new to town and I am so happy to have found my new go-to salon on my first try! Starrs Sister Salon was highly recommended by several people and now I know why. Ashley did a great job and I would recommend her to anybody. Great customer service and friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to next time!

Matt cut and colored my hair last Wednesday. He did a phenomenal job, he is the first person to actually listen to what I wanted and did exactly what I was looking for. My hair turned out great and I was super happy as it was my first time there. I will definitely be back.

I had an excellent experience at this salon! I had been having terrible luck with salons in Minneapolis where I live. My boyfriend suggested I try out Starrs Sister in Eau Claire while we were visiting his family. He said that it was the best salon in Eau Claire and I decided to give it a try. I had a fantastic first experience! My stylist got my color down perfectly as well as my cut. I was so happy! The atmosphere was super fun and funky and all the stylists had a great energy. Their prices are very reasonable and I loved the selection of products they carry. I dont care that it is an hour drive, I will only get my hair done here from now on!

Dirty. Outdated. Run down.I had some usual hair stylists that I would see throughout the years at Starrs Sister. This salon was the place when I was growing up & in college. Even went there for my wedding hair style.Last time I was in town, I decided to stop in to see if I could get a trim. I did not care what stylist cut my hair. I have never had a bad experience there.BUT...ALL the usual hairstylists I have, LEFT ! They are not working there anymore! Even the owner who had done my hair a few times (many years ago) was not there either! There was only one stylist I recognized & she was booked.I have NEVER seen such a large turn over rate there! which should of been a big sign for me to leave, but the owners son (who was also the receptionist) convinced me to give a newer stylist a try & he would give me 25% off. So I did.All I wanted was a trim. Lets just say hack job. The girl told me that she was new there & had not been doing hair for a long time. I really did not feel that she was trained well & it showed.When I went to check out, the receptionist didnt even make eye contact. He was very into his laptop at the time.I wouldve thought that since I was there, giving HIS family, my business, a little more appreciation & respect would have been an obvious for him.It is sad. This place used to be fun & funky.Now the only funky thing about that place is the black mold growing in these old IV bags that are hanging on the wall.The fun art is still there, you can kind of see it under the inches of dust.Not that it mattered since its all the same exact art from years ago.My lifelong tradition of going to Starrs Sister, is over. My haircut was BAD, the place is dirty, stuffy, over priced & very outdated.

I was very satisfied with my first time at Starrs Sister Salon! Sam did an awesome job with my hair and got me the exact color and cut that I wanted for such a good price. Very friendly atmosphere with cool art to look at everywhere. :)

Relaxing place with a rustic feel. Amy is a wonderful stylist. Ive received so many compliments on my hair since then.

This salon had very good reviews, so I decided to go and get a much needed trim. The lady who cut my hair was very nice, and I was there for about 30 minutes total. Once I was done, I was charged $40 for my trim, which is the most I have ever paid for a haircut. I noticed that it was a little uneven a few days later, but one of my friends just pointed out that it is very uneven because the left side is about an inch longer than the right. Very disappointed that I spent $40 for an uneven haircut that I will now have to pay more money to have fixed.

I felt welcome the moment I walked in! Im a curly girl and Nancy was so knowledgeable! She gave me great pointers and ideas for my hair type. The wonderful cut and style made me feel beautiful and pampered when I walked out! Love that its a family business!

Ive been going to Starrs Sister for 14 years (even coming back when no longer living in EC) and I would never go anywhere else. Everyone is friendly and talented but my go to lady is Georgia. You wont regret coming here!

Ive been going to Starrs Sister Salon for about 8 years. I had some difficulty getting an appointment a couple of years ago (not a shock with how good they are) and tried another salon. I got a decent haircut, but the experience just wasnt the same. I havent strayed from this salon since then and I wont again in the future. The atmosphere makes waiting a pleasure. My kids LOVE going to get their haircuts here. Definitely a one of a kind salon with a wonderful atmosphere and awesome stylists. I have my favorite stylist but honestly would be comfortable and confident to have any stylist there cut my hair.

Living in Milwaukee, but was home visiting my parents in Eau Claire. I went to get a hair cut here just like I had back in high school. I had a new hair stylist that I hadnt seen before, but she was great. Very kind, understanding, and careful. I could tell she was very concentrated on giving me a quality hair cut which was comforting to see. She took her time and made sure I was completely happy before I left the chair. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, I honestly had no problems whatsoever. The art on the walls is always great to witness, Im so sick of the models that are all over the walls in most salons.

I have been going to Starrs Sisters for long time and have never had a bad haircut. I take both of my daughters their too. Atmosphere is great and you can tell the hairdressers are experienced. 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a hairdresser.

Though I live in St. Paul, I choose to go to Starrs Sister whenever I am in Eau Claire because you cannot beat the exceptional level of stylists at reasonable, EC prices. Especially if you have curly hair, you can count on the stylists to do a good job with the latest techniques and products for dealing with your hair.Plus, you cant beat the art and atmosphere.

Amy is awesome! She has a really good personality and was a pleasure as a stylist. I wont be going anywhere else for cuts/color.

Probably the best hair place in town. Lots of cool art to look at while you are getting your hair cut, the girls are really friendly and fast. After getting some messed up haircuts at other salons, I think I will only go to Starrs Sister from now on. I love it.

I have been a going to Starrs Sister for years and have never once regretted it. I think the service I receive is top notch. Abbey is my stylist and she does a wonderful job with my hair. I always feel like I am getting a very personal experience. I never feel rushed, and I always feel listened to. I cant imagine ever going anywhere else.

Very, very happy with first cut after relocating from Denver. My Hair has found a Home. Karlye is wonderful. She listens and works with you to give you what you want, and is patient enough to tweak the little things that make for a good haircut and good stylist/client relationship.

Starrs Sister is the best Salon in Eau Claire, and the only place I would get my hair cut. The atmosphere is great, and I have had a good experience with many of the different talented stylists. It is great to support a local business and they also have the best product.

Great salon with a cool, kitschy vibe. Service was wonderful and very reasonably priced. Staff was accommodating, knowledgeable, and friendly.

I drive 2 hours 2-3 times a year for my haircuts and color. I love, love, love this place and the entire staff. Well worth the extra effort on my part.

Have been to many other salons in town, but always return to this family owned business and bonus art gallery because it is simply the best and treats three generations of my family with total repect and care. Oh, and our hair always looks great, too.

I have had a fear of getting my hair cut. I am no stylist so I leave it up to whomever I end up with and have never gotten anything with personality or that works with having thin, wavy hair, so I have kept my hair long and drab for over a decade. Eventually I became so tired of trimming off my split ends and up-does that I decided to risk it. My girl didnt even have to think about it and gave me a truly amazing hair style! My hair had shape and volume and it totally transformed me and my faith in stylists in my price range. I was finally able to utilize my curly locks instead of weighing them down with length or attempting to tame them with pins and things. I am always excited to go back and refresh my style and hang out in what has become my favorite art gallery. Both the artwork and the stylists are unexpected and original, and the whole experience cannot be found anywhere else. I feel so lucky to have this treasure in my town.

06/07/2013: This was my first experience with Starrs Sister. For the past several years I have driven to an Aveda salon in Minnesota for hair care, so I was hoping to find a comparable quality salon in Eau Claire. The staff was welcoming; the environment is interesting and calming. The stylists chairs are antique barber and dentist chairs, and I was surprised at how comfortable the chair was. The walls are covered with a huge variety of art pieces, which apparently were all done by the salon owners husband. It is definitely not the normal beige walls and pictures of hair models in frames that one finds in most salons. As this was my first visit, I didnt know who to ask for. I made an appointment online (I loved this option!) with Kelsey. I was making a significant change in my hairstyle, so I brought a picture with me. Kelsey is an excellent stylist; she asked me throughout the haircut what I thought about it, the length, etc. She was very thorough, double checking her work and made sure I was happy with the cut and style. The last time I was at the Aveda salon in Minnesota, my stylist was gossiping about one of her co-workers to the stylist next to her. I found this very stressful and highly unprofessional. I was glad that the staff at Starrs Sister appear to get along well and support one another, and even if they dont they dont air their differences in front of clients. It seems like a no-brainer not to gossip and argue in front of clients, but apparently not at some salons! I left very happy with my cut and style, felt that the entire experience was stress and drama free, and will definitely return. I really have no idea why I never tried this salon before!

Great customer service, and did a wonderful job on my hair. Im going there from now on to get my hair done.
