If you are an MSU student looking for an absolutely amazing place to live, look no further! The Lodges is literally the perfect dream as far as student housing is concerned. From the spacious rooms with large, walk in closets and private bathrooms, to the pool parties and giveaway events, The Lodges of East Lansing ensures that your living quarters will be the highlight of your college experience!Although the property is gorgeous and maintained to perfection and the amenities are beyond fantastic and seemingly endless, what really stands out above everything else is the staff. It is plain to see that the staff moves flawlessly together and communication between staff members is on point (which is extremely important for any residential community of this size). The general manager, Brittany, was especially helpful and accommodating. Brittany helped eased my anxiety of off campus living with her friendly, outgoing personality and her extensive knowledge of the property. She explained everything in great detail about how bills are split/pricing etc., how the shuttle system to and from campus works, and everything in between. She was the perfect mix of fun and professional and honestly the selling point of the whole experience. She is the icing on the cake and the deciding factor on making The Lodges home!
Living at the Lodges was a wonderful experience. Wonderful units to live in, and the staff are one of a kind (so helpful!). Super close to campus, so making sure getting to class is easy! Highly recommend checking out the lodges to live!
The lodges is honestly not a good place to live. First of all, if you want to have any of your property maintained you have to beg for it to be done. They don’t keep up on their units. Do a really shotty job at everything they do. Grounds are very neglected, I’ve lived here a couple years and it’s been downhill. Also, their parking passes are ridiculous and they’ll slap a parking violation sticker on your window for anything.
The Lodges offers great events & giveaways for their residents. The apartment itself is very spacious & having your own bathroom is something you cant get at many other apartments. The new outdoor patio area is one of my favorite spots to hangout at night because the fire pit keeps you nice and cozy! I love it here so much that I renewed a second year!
Beautiful property that is well maintained! You can tell management and the staff truly care about the property which is a rare find. Definitely lease here, the staff is super helpful!
This place is amazing! It’s an affordable price and a beautiful property. I spoke with Libby on the phone and she was able to answer all my questions and made me feel at ease getting my first “off campus” apartment. She really made me feel like family and that she cared about my happiness. With such amazing staff and such an amazing property, I highly recommend the Lodges of East Lansing
My son has been living at The Lodges of East Lansing for this past year and really enjoys it. He made some great friends and is at the hot tub all the time!
I called and spoke with Libby and she was amazing. She really knew how to answer all of my questions and she was super sweet and helpful. I love living at the Lodges and having such caring/sweet staff. Makes my mom feel super good about me living out of state and being away at college.
I had a property tour from Libby and let me tell you the chick really knows her stuff, and bonus she is super sweet. The property looks great too. Cant wait to live here and have friendly/knowledgeable staff like Libby assist me with that process.
The Lodges is so nice, my roommates and I are so excited to live there! The ample amount of amenities is so nice, and the free parking!
We love the lodges and the amazing office staff. The maintenance crew is always prompt and professional.
My friends and I went and received a tour of the Lodges of East Lansing which was fantastic. The staff were very nice and Garrin, who gave us the tour, did a incredible job showing us around. He answered all of our questions and even addressed our concerns about the poor online reviews from people renting the apartments in the past. We are very excited to be living here during next school year and hopefully for our entire academic careers.
I was a transfer student and the staff was very helpful. I had a great experience!
I spoke to Libby on the phone. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. When we arrived for our tour, Libby was wonderful. She was very upbeat and excited about the lodges. We will definitely be moving in this fall!!!!
Every apartment here has a patio! Im so excited to be able to spend time outside at my own apartment!
I love living here and all the events they have for their residents ! I renewed my lease to live here next year. Apartments are very spacious and the amenities are great! Live here!
The lodges have so much to offer. Great amenities, awesome giveaways, a shuttle to and from campus, and spacious walk in closets. Maintenance is very good at helping with any issues you have. I just wish there was better storage space in the main living area, but besides that I’ve enjoyed living there.
The customer service is phenomenal! The people in the office are what really make the Lodges the ideal place to stay!!
The free busses are a great perk and the pool is always fun when it’s warm out.
Great management compared to my old apartment complex. The shuttle service is amazing and I use it everyday for my classes. I would give it 5 stars but my neighbors were rude to me.
Virtual tour? Say it aint so? BUT, it had to happen thanks (no thanks) to Covid. Our property tour guide was Darrin. He was awesome. He answered all our questions and gave good tips and suggestions. What a great property. And, Darrin was fabulous. Kudos to a job well done.
Great staff and an even better place to live!
Emma Topacio was super helpful on the tour! She made sure we were all on the same page with everything and explained all of our questions really well! Excited to live there!
I’ve lived here a semester and I love it! The location is great and the complex itself is really nice. I’m on the third floor so we have a high ceiling which I love! Only complaint is that when we moved in my bedroom carpet smelled bad and our kitchen was dirty.
Been living here for 3 years now, great amenities, greater people. Wouldnt want to live anywhere else in EL!!
Great community to live at. The staff and maitenance is so responsive! Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I love it here. And you’re gonna love it here ;)
Such a great place to live especially in the pandemic!! great location to get to okemos and east lansing! big rooms and love having my own bathroom/closet!
The best staff around! Friendly and efficient! :) Libby Kurtz was so helpful.
I worked with Emma Topacio and she was wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. Great staff at the lodges all are welcoming and very friendly
Garrin S. was super helpful on the tour! He made sure we were all on the same page with everything and explained all of our questions really well! Excited to live there!
Amenities are great. Unfortunately I do not need to use the bus as I do not need to go on campus due to online classes. But it seems very convenient. I would recommend The Lodges to anyone who asked.
The hot tub is rarely ever warm, which is frustrating considering we pay so much for this apartment and it’s one of the only things to do right now due to covid. It’s hot one day and cold the next. When we asked maintenance why, they couldn’t give us a direct answer. They plow the snow right up to the walkway so you have to step over a huge part of snow and ice to get up the stairs.
Love living here! Amazing amenities! Fantastic maintenance team!! Super friendly leasing staff! Cannot recommend The Lodges more ! :-)
They have great amenities and it is a lovely facility.
Pretty apartment with spacious rooms along with spacious closets. Also has a lot of amenities, like the dog park, hot tub, bus that takes you to campus, etc. The only problem I have with this apartment is the amount of bugs in my room specifically, but the maintenance at this place is amazing and willing to come fix the problem!
Lived here for two years. Would never return. From the perspective of the premium price youre paying (considering the fact that the location isnt actually that good), youd expect maintenance to be a little quicker on the draw. The insulation in our apartment was terrible; cold air rushed in through the bottom of the door in the winter time, and since the electric bill is on you, the cyclic nature of your heat will not be kind to your wallet. Tenantsdont pay for water, but water heaters are run on electricity, so unless you exclusively use cold water... You do pay for the water.Lastly (and most disturbingly) the first year I lived here, residents had free access to the ice skating rink down the street, in addition to free access to two tanning beds within the complex. The 2nd year, the already EXORBITANT rent was increased by over $20, and residents were UNINFORMED that ice rink access and tanning bed usage were discontinued. When I called to ask about the tanning beds, the management told me that they didnt get enough use which is an outright lie, because I would use them multiple times a week, and I would often have to wait my turn for access because theyd be in use.Seems backwards, right? What housing situation annually RAISES prices while REMOVING amenities? Not one Id ever want to live in. Too bad we were asked if we wanted to resign in October (I believe we moved in in August) before we experienced winter and amenity removal.I left 2 stars on because if your friends ever come visit your far-away apartment, theyll say wow this is nice this must be expensive.
Only lived here for three months but it’s been nice so far! We’re resigning for next year. Really enjoy the amenities!
What an incredible place to call home. The sun shines a little brighter at The Lodges of East Lansing.
The Lodges of East Lansing is a super cool property. Libby gave me a facetime tour and did a super good job and taking the time to fully show me the model!
Love this place Ive lived here for 5 years and the staff is super friendly and the wifi is great!
I called to make a maintenance request and Emma was very helpful on telling me how I can put one in myself. Additionally Kevin was very nice and was able to fix all my maintenance issues that I had!
Libby was super helpful on my tour of the Lodges! The Lodges look super nice and have tons of great amenities!
The staff here is so welcoming! they reply so fast on the chat and are so kind on the phone
I called and asked for information on a 4 bed apartment and libby was super helpful and kind! she gave me a ton of information on the different amenities at the lodges and im looking forward to my tour!
My roommates and I love it here. Great hot tub and amenities and we will definitely be resigning for next year.
Love the lodges! Super nice housing and great amenities!
Emma was so helpful and explained everything to me thoroughly! She is a great employee and a great asset to the Lodges of East Lansing!!!
Great place to live!! Awesome location and friendly staff!
Associate John was very kind and made sure the tour was a great experience!
Great property, excellent staff and such a beautiful place to call home!
Ive been living here for a couple of months and I absolutely love it! So safe, clean, and everyone is so nice!
Amazing place to live. Great amenities!
Love it here! The maintenance staff is top notch!
Cute and clean which I found very pleasant.
Lady on phone very good. Called me Mr. Pingus very professional
Garrin was an amazing tour guide! Showed us all the cool things at the Lodges, loved the spacious rooms!
The best place to live in East Lansing! The apartments and amenities are top notch and the staff is outstanding.
Internet outages / high rent / high heating and cools costs
Great staff, and fast service!!
My boyfriend and I was checking apartments. A friend suggested The Lodges of East Lansing. The manager I believe her name is Britney gave us a tour. She was very professional and welcoming! If ever decide to make the move, The Lodges of East Lansing will be our first choice. Britney made us feel that The lodges is just what we need.Thank you possibly future tenants.
This is one of the best Apartments in the East Lansing area! They have great staff, always help me with any questions that I may have. Gorgeous apartments for any college students, new appliances, high ceilings, internet and cable, and you can have your pet with you which is a score when it comes to college apartments. Feels like Im tucked into a quiet forest which helps with stress. It is on the pricier side but honestly with amenities, the quality of the apartment and location--I think the price is fitting! There are definitely more expensive and worst options in EL. Highly recommend if you can afford it.
Great floorplans and great amenities! Fantastic customer service too
Dog park is sweet, home goods giftcard is sweeter ;) do awesome giveaways
Ive lived at the Lodges for three years and never have had a complaint. Im not one to write reviews; but, the Lodges offer some of the best student housing at Michigan State University. I appreciate the cozy/safe community, the attentive staff that truly cares about each residents needs, the spacious rooms with huge walk-in closets & personal bathrooms, plenty of free parking and that they are extremely pet friendly. Also, the two fitness centers and Starbucks coffee machine are a plus.
I really enjoyed living at the Lodges! I’ve also lived in other apartments like the Hub and enjoyed my time at the Lodges much more. I like how spacious and private the rooms are, how convenient the furnishing option is, and most importantly how kind and accommodating the staff is at the lodges (specifically Aadi N. and Matt K.). I also think the coziness and separation of the community-style apartments is a huge plus over other buildings especially in times of COVID. Also, love the new study amenities! Overall this has been my favorite living experience off campus by far and I’d recommend it to anyone!
Garrin was super helpful and knowledgeable and really helped me and my family feel excited about renting here. A really cool guy and great worker.
Working with Alexa has been a great experience. She is so helpful, nice and works to resolve any and all issues.
Loved living here! No complaints all year, staff is friendly and helpful! Rooms are HUGE! Bus system is always timely .. used it twice a day and was NEVER LATE! no issues at all .. ample parking. Best apartment for the price!
Great staff and community!
This guy that I’ve never met in my life named Garrin hooked me up with the absolute BEST apartment I could imagine on the phone for college. I lived in Okinawa Japan, called the lodges, talked to Garrin and he talked me through the apartment process. Honestly can’t say I’ve ever been happier. I had no idea what to expect, I was scared to live on my own and go to college since I’ve been in the military the last five years of my life, but Garrin made it easy. Day or night he was there to answer my calls. And he hooked me up with an apartment I can’t complain about! This apartment complex says the truth about this place and if you want the best quality service, call and ask for Garrin!!!
The maintenance team is amazing!
I will start with the Pros:-The location is close to Michigan States Medical School and Nursing School.-If you live in Phase 1, there is a bus that will take you to and from campus that will wait outside of the clubhouse. It leaves every 15-20 minutes. If you live in Phase 2 (the newer phase), the bus will still come by, but it wont be there waiting like it is in Phase 1.-The amenities (when up and working) are really nice. The lodges has 2 really nice workout areas. Also, there is a study room with printers. However, you will need to bring your own paper for the printer.-Parking is not really an issue here. There is plenty of parking.-Maintenance: From a light bulb out to a broken mirror, the maintenance is very good.-The layout of the apartments are great for privacy. You have your own bathroom and a big closet.Onto the Cons:- I have had problems with my mail being stolen at the Lodges of East Lansing. Never through USPS, but if a package was coming via FedEx or UPS, the package is left right outside your door. If you are at class when your package gets delivered you run into the risk of it being stolen because there are no cameras in the residential areas and it is a college town. When I contacted the Lodges staff, I was told that there was nothing they could do about it and I would need to contact the carrier.- There is a lot of shattered glass. On more than one occasion the hot tub has had to been drained due to broken glass bottles. Also, be careful if you bring your bike because Ive blown out my tires riding on the side walk. The Lodges of East Lansing is party central.- The heating is electric here and the insulation is not the best. Heating/Cooling bills for me ranged from $90-$200. Regarding the construction of the building, I had my mirror fall off my wall and shatter all over my bathroom, bedroom, and closet floor. However, when this happened, I called and left an emergency work order. The same day, a maintenance worker came and cleaned up the shards of glass and screwed a new mirror into my wall (Before it was just glued/cemented to the wall).- Boxelder beetles are horrible in the early fall. If you live towards the back of the complex, closest to the trees, your front door could be covered with them (30+). Again, the maintenance came and brushed them off the front of my door with a broom.- Management: I was not renewing my lease and somehow my name got taken off the Email list. Every year the Lodges gets rid of all the abandoned bikes. My bike got taken and my $50 lock got cut. When I got my bike back, I asked to be reimbursed for my cut lock and was given a $15 one. I was told that there were public papers around the community that were informing residents of the bike collection. On a further note, trying to get ahold of the general manager is very difficult to do. The majority of issues will be taken up by college students that work in the office.-Wifi is very slow. During my first year living here, we were told that routers were not allowed (but people use them anyways because the Internet is so slow). I tried to use internet provided, but ended up going out and getting a router.-When I switched units at the Lodges of East Lansing, I was unaware of a transfers list (this allows you to move out of your old unit and into the new unit in a 24 hour move). When I heard about it, I was put on the waitlist. However, because the transfers list was full, I had to move all of my belongings home for 2 weeks and then move all of my stuff back to this complex. If you are moving to a different apartment complex all together, just know that the Lodges of East Lansing does not extend the lease to make it convenient for when you move into your new apartment (this is something that DTN does do). You will have to pay $200 a day every day you stay past the day your lease ends (July 31st). Your options for this is you will have to look into a storage unit or sublease.Final thoughts:For how expensive it is to live here, save your money and look elsewhere. 2/5
Loved living here for two and half years! Management was helpful and responsive, and it was great having my own spacious room, bath, and closet areas. Its also the perfect distance away from campus!
I lived at the Lodges for 2 years and absolutely loved the apartments and staff there. Not only do you have the option for your apartment to come fully furnished, but you get it all for an amazing price compared to other apartments near campus. Having a gym to workout at, as well as a pool, hot tub, and club house made it even more fun to hangout and study. A lot of the Lodges staff are students, so they’re easy to connect with and talk to if you have any problems. If there was ever a maintenance issue say with your kitchen or bathroom, it was always taken care of that same day or early the following morning. There are also busses to and from campus that drop off and pick up at various spots that run every 15 minutes, making getting to and from campus very convenient. They’re also pet friendly, because let’s be honest pets make everything better.
Libby was so welcoming at the event today
Garrin did a fabulous job when we had to pivot because the dorms closed. Thank you for taking so much time with us.
I had a great experience securing a lease with the Lodges of East Lansing. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and didnt mind all of the different questions I had for them. Additionally, they worked with me on dates, furniture, and unit location, which is unlike other apartment places in East Lansing. Would recommend!! Also, they have a new internet provider that should help with previous comments about the internet.
Great place to do business with!
Great amenities! The rooms are in good condition and the provided furniture is great! The additional bedroom package is definitely worth the extra money. Staff has always been kind and helpful, even if they’re not always timely
The lodges of East Lansing continues to try and take advantage of their residents. Incorporating fees for bills that were paid on time as well as constantly letting themselves into our apartment. It has been a terrible experience and would not recommend staying here.
Wonderful place to live 🤠
Love living here :)
This was NOT a pleasant place to live by any means! My car was towed for absolutely no reason and I had a parking permit sticker on it and it was still towed because they “didn’t see it.” Also, the location is not as close as it seems and it is not in the exciting part of campus, there is nothing nearby. All in all, this place is not worth the cost; the quality of the apartment itself is very cheaply made. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
My experience here has been great. Brittany has been very helpful throughout the leasing process and the rent is very fair for the property and space.
My roommates and I like it here & we are resigning! The bus and free parking are my favorite!!
Staff is always responsive and the apartment community always looks great. The apartments are very big (especially the bedrooms!) 10/10 would recommend!
Very nice, I like
I love living in the Lodges! The pool and hot tub are always so fun, the bus makes everything so convenient, and it is always so clean and well kept. The leasing office is super accommodating and helpful (especially Hailey)!
Love how big and spacious the apartments are! My friends love living there and I’m looking forward to getting my own place once I go to MSU.
This is a great community!
Loved living here! The apartments are clean and up to date. The amenities are a huge plus too!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! if you want to live somewhere where they wont lose your money and try to make you pay for two months rent then AVOID. They lost my check in the beginning of 2018 and then supposedly found it accidentally applied under someone elses account. A year later and after I had moved out, they are now saying I owe a months rent for the lost check which they found. If 41% of their reviews are 1-star, then that should tell you something. I should have known better than to be fooled by the pretty aesthetic.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!Seriously the worst management team ever. The staff is so rude. They call you saying you owe them money when you don’t. They have mold in their apartments and don’t do anything about it. My friend moved in last year and had roaches in her apartments. Yes roaches!!!! She lived with them for months because they didn’t do anything. She finally moved out because she couldn’t take it. And had to keep paying for it because she couldn’t break her lease. The apartments are loud and cheaply made. You can hear every step you neighbor takes. It’s one thing after another here. Just don’t move here. Learn from my mistake.
The amenities are incredibly convenient. The staff is always super helpful and maintenance requests are handled almost immediately. The apartments are beautiful and clean. The property itself is very well kept, especially in the winter time when it comes to everything being shoveled/plowed. I love living here!
Update: They have hired a new manager. She quickly fixed the charges. The bookkeeper at the time did not take note that the charges were removed. I tried speaking with the current bookkeeper before the new manager but she was set on the fines being there. Speak to the manager. The management here will try every dirty trick to squeeze any amount of money out of their residents. STEER CLEAR of this apartment complex and its the subsidiaries to its ownership, AmericanCampus.Ive had to return twice to this office for false charges when I have not lived here since last year. The first was cleared for trash bags in my apartment. I had to go and explain that they were my roommates trash bags who were still clearly living there. They even had a sub-leaser fill out a form for the apartment a month previously.Just recently another bill has showed up at my house address. When I left and turned in my keys, (you have to leave by 9AM in the MORNING on the day that your lease ends, read the fine print or they will fine you for that as well), I had a 0 balance and the certainty of the manager that I would not have to be back, but for whatever reason I now owe around $200.I was not contacted by The Lodges through email or phone (neither voicemail or text). They just sent my father a bill and expected him to pay it without even looking, just like the first. The reason is not listed either, just that an outstanding amount is due. Im sure theyve done the same thing to many other college students and would do it to you too.Stay VERY far away from this complex.
I’be been living here for over 6 months now and I’ve had a great experience. The maintenance services are quick and make sure to take great take of you in any situation. I look forward to living here again next year!
I’ve lived here for 2 years now and am living here next year as well. It’s a great place to live that’s just far enough from campus to keep it quieter but the private shuttle gets you right to campus in 10 Minutes. I moved here without even taking a tour because I heard about the bus and getting your own bathroom and have never regretted the decision.
10/10 recommend the Lodges of East Lansing
The maintenance man Jerome did an amazing job fixing my ice machine in the freezer! He left a nice note and even reorganized my freezer to make more room! Great service!
The Lodges are a great place to live! The bedrooms are a great size and the employees go the extra mile to help you out with whatever you need! I would definitely recommend to anyone for a place to live during your time at college!
