They treated our indoor cat for fleas that he caught inside their facility. Would not even consider giving a refund. They were extremely rude to the point of almost being violent to get us out of the door. They are spiteful and do not care about the welfare of the animals they treat wich should be priority #1 DO NOT GO HERE

I have been a customer with VCA Foxon for 11 years and have had three dogs. In the past, they were easy to work with and compassionate about my pet’s health. Recently however this has changed. I attempted to bring my injured dog into the vet and was told that there were no appts for a couple weeks. I was told that I could bring my dog in as a walk in but that they would charge me $112 for walking through the door as if I was not already a client. I spoke with both the receptionist and the office manager to understand this but all they stated was this was their policy. Not once did either individual ask me how my dog was or express any compassion towards the fact that my dog was injured. They now care more about the money than they do about the animals. It is a shame but I now have to change vets.Update:I spoke with the hospital manager, they also had had no compassion for our pet and continued to be treated as a dollar sign. We switched vets and are very satisfied with our new vet.

Nice vet hospital but their main concern is the cash in your bank account. Vets are only fairly knowledgeable . Ive seen better and more professional ones in central vet hospital in Hamden ct. I wish I took my cat there from the get go. She may still be alive..im filled with guilt

Haven taken pets here for more than 30 years only to be treated like just another Dollar Sign. 19 year old cat in crisis they lacked Compassion or sympathy, very dismissive...we disagreed on treatment expense...I was told call other veterniary places. Losing a pet after so many years is like losing a child. They are only interested in the money...a cha-ching business. I did go somewhere else and was treated with dignity, understanding, compassion, support for myself and my beloved cat...most expensive facility in my area...found another vet for half the cha-ching

VCA in North Haven is a part of a large nationwide chain. It has the feel of a small local clinic because of the kind, light-hearted, personable staff, and the clean, comfortable waiting room and examination room accommodations. I also greatly appreciate their promptness and the low wait time. When you are at VCA, it doesn’t really register that this is a big chain until you get to some of the pricing (which can be a bit higher than you expect). They aren’t trying to sneak attack you with pricing so if you are worried about it- I would just call ahead and ask what some of their prices are. The people at the front are always open and pleasant to speak with.I have been using this location for 7 years now. The main Dr that we work with for our adult cat is Dr. Schmidt. She is highly knowledgeable in her field. What I appreciate about her most is that she takes the time to really listen to what is going on and never rushes your time together. She also works with an animal nutritionist which we have found very helpful.Other things of note: they offer at least 2 different health insurance options for pets. They carry what looks like the entire Hills prescriptions food line for cats and dogs. They have weekend hours and are also connected with a really great local ER for easy records and data transfer if needed.

All my experiences with this animal hospital have been excellent. They have helped treat many sick kittens I have fostered who have grown up into healthy happy cats thanks to VCA foxon. My own cat receives excellent care and treatment at this site. All the vets are knowledgeable and friendly. So far I have had no issues.

We had an amazing and truly wonderful experience coming to this clinic for our animal companions medical care. The staff is truly wonderful and sweet. We love our vet so much . The place is very professional and the medical staff is very attentive in listening and handling both the animals and their human companions, (who are under stress when they bring in their sick pets worried). We would love to keep coming to this clinic for our pets medical care but we have moved out of state. Our deepest and sincerest thanks and appreciation to VCA. We highly recommend this place.

Dr. Schmidt at VCA Foxon is a dedicated, intelligent and kind person. I feel that my dog had the best care possible. Jackie at the front desk is super helpful and thoughtful. The doctors at this practice are up on the most current treatment options and the staff is professional and still compassionate. I highly recommend VCA Foxon.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars but unfortunately I cant. This place used to be amazing and was the only place I would bring my pets. Now they are the worst. First off they are rude and definitely not animal people. I have never met vets in my life that do not like animals. The Drs are the rudest, tried to tell me that there was something wrong with my cat when in all reality there never was. Second they are so over priced its ridiculous. I went to a new vet who did the same procedure on my dog for less than half the price that they wanted. I would not bring your animals here, theres way better places in the surrounding areas.

The entire staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Dr Robbins provided me with very thorough explanations, since I just got BoBo (my sweet dog) from the shelter. I will definitely come back as VCA gave me the feeling of being very reliable.

Horrible service. We have been bringing our pets to them for over 9 years (6 pets) and we sent friends and family to them. We travel from NY to see them but the way we have been treated by the clinic lately, for the passed few months is unacceptable. So much disrespect and attitude. So happy we will not be with them anymore. Horrible horrible artitude towards the customer. I mean when u care more about the money than the pet, this is what happens. I will not recommend.

Had a great experience here with both my cat and my (then) girlfriends cat. On multiple visits, technicians and doctors seemed to actually care about the condition of the cats. One was a kitten and the other a little older, so they took their time and gave each cat the care that she needed. Had I not moved halfway across the country, I would still be utilizing this vet.

Incredibly unhelpful receptionist and lack of transparency on pricing. I called about 10 vets today to ask about pricing as far as ranges and starting points and feees for bloodwork, etc. for dog dental care. Out of all the places I called, this was the ONLY vet who wouldn’t give me any idea of their range or fees without me first signing up to come in and pay for a pre-exam. Receptionist Daisy refused repeatedly to give me any sort of starting price, while other vet offices in the area were super helpful and would say, we start at $500 or $760, and it’s $50 or $80 for bloodwork, etc. I want everyone else who may call this hospital first to recognize that this is NOT standard practice in the industry. Other places WILL talk to you about pricing over the phone and be more transparent. Everyone else I called was super helpful, answered all of my questions and concerns, etc. it was a STARK contrast to the conversation I had with Foxon, the first place I called.

I was so impressed with the services I was receiving during an unexpected dilemma & a last mintue appointment for my pet Ive never been treated with so much respect and empathy towards my feelings when I had to euthanasia my 19 year pet. When my beloved Tabys ashes were returned to me, a symptom card was included & each staff member signed it. I was speak less... Thank you All for allowing me to cherish my last moments with her during your closed hours.

I waited purposely to write this review to ensure my feelings were correct and see what happened with my dog. As mentioned by another review, please beware. I was taking my pet there under the care plan and he has a cancer, that I have been closely monitoring for the last 2 years. I was told In December I should consider ending my dog’s life and was provided pain meds as the only option they would offer. After discussing the reccomendation with my family. We wanted to try steriod or antibiotic to see if his recent bout of coughing could be treated before making that decision as he was still eating, playing and acting like himself. I made 8 calls 3 of which was made by my dog’s co owner asking questions about different medication and being told, “I’m not going to do that the pain med is all that would be recommended.” “I though we discussed this” “ no to the steroid as it may cause more harm than good” one Saturday I ran out of the pain med the doctor didn’t even return my call as promised. I was at the end of my rope and called them to inquire about euthanasia services at that point. The stress was taking its toll on us.Luckily I found an Angel that recommended another vet for a 2nd opinion. I got him there had a complete work up redone and review of his records he was given a course of antibiotics, and another therapy. It’s March as I type this he is playing with toys at my feet. Cough barely there OFF of the pain meds.Bottom line don’t EVER just believe what one vet tells you if you don’t agree..... you know your pet, I’m out of a lot of money with their useless pet care program that I paid money into as my other pet barely used it and needless to say she will not be going back there either. I paid into the plan because I lost my job and thought that would be a great way to contain cost and keep up my babies care. Thank God I kept a back up plan in order for him to get proper treatment.I will look at what route I can take with the payments I made because I am one disgusted consumer with that lack of compassion and the downright arrogance that was shown. I almost put my baby down before his time if I would have listened to Dr. Schmidt and not followed my instincts.

I have had my cat for a little over 3 months and this was his 5th vet visit. I unknowingly adopted him with a pre-existing condition that had proved to be extremely costly. However after taking him to Foxon Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Ward was able to properly diagnose him and provide treatment. Having previously been misdiagnosed, I was extremely relieved to find out that his condition is treatable! Dr. Ward was so helpful and made me feel very comfortable because she had taken the time to review his chart and understand his condition in its entirety. I will definitely use Foxon VH for my future veterinary needs!

Lets start with the front desk.... every single one of the staff that greets us is so kind, caring and really shows that they truly care about us and our pets. Every time I call to schedule an appt or just ask a question they spend the time on the phone with me making sure I hang up satisfied. We primarily see Dr. Schmidt who we absolutely trust with all of our pets. She is super friendly and is an excellent vet. When Dr. Schmidt is off and we need to schedule an appt. weve seen Dr. Ward who is also wonderful with us and our pets. I cannot say enough about everyone that works there. We used to live local and thats what brought us to this vet. Now we live 20 minutes away and wouldnt ever think of finding a vet closer. This establishment is excellent and I would recommend anyone go and see for yourself-Majtek, Macey, Maggie, Molly, Ferdinand and Fiona
