I just love everything about the East Hanover Planet Fitness. The staff (specially Bella and Chris) is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the different workout programs and options. The facility is kept sterilized and ready for use. Their ample parking space asure user their vehicles are safe. I just wont go workout anywhere else...

Very happy with this gym. For $10 it’s hard to beat. Tons of cardio equipment, 4 squat racks, tons of dumbbells.

No hot water in ladies shower. Said something to desk yesterday. They had relit the mens, but didnt check the womens water heater. Today another freezing cold shower. If they dont work put up a sign before i get all sweaty and have no choice.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.Facility is very cleanMembers are compliant with policies and procedures.I look forward to coming 5-6 times a week.

Clean, ton of machines, hydromassage bed, tanning bed, $24.99 a month, TVs are above head for all to watch and you can change the channels, massage chairs, stretching zone, lockers, bathroom, one floor and nice amenities.. I went as a guest it was a good experience on a Thursday night around 9pm

I found out during the Covid crisis when gyms were closed until September 1 that they immediately started charging me $10 per month. Covid cases have been on the rise in New Jersey since the fall and they are now at a crisis point and this gym has the nerve to charge people for a membership without even questioning whether or not the person would use the membership. There is no way I would feel safe going back to a gym until this crisis diminishes and yet they have the nerve to charge people monthly. Of course, you can’t cancel your membership by phone or online, you need to either go in person, during a pandemic, or send a certified letter where you have to go into the post office to have it certified, again during a pandemic. This company should be ashamed of itself.

I recently joined this gym from retro fitness, excellent service and very helpful staff.Only thing which I am missing is stationary inclined bench press machine where you put actual weights, similarly missing stationary flat bench press machine with free weights in retro fitness.ThanksSamik

One of the best planet fitness location! I moved to the area and requested for a transfer from another location. They cancelled my membership instead and I would have to apply to this location as a new customer. The staff here changed my mind about switching to another fitness gym and they provided great customer service for my issue and handled it beautifully! Five stars all the way to Jake and his team!

Planet Fitness is the place to go. Jake, the manager has the place in check. His smiling demeanor and personality is so pleasurable.If you have an issue he is always willing to listen and rectify the situation.Parking is hard sometimes but I have patience and I just wait. Lol.Place is clean and I enjoy my Planet Fitness .

I wish on our reopening, the gym will level up the routine re- covid 19 Precautions. It might be helpful on top of the standard rules like social distancing and hand sanitizer/ washing if we can have disposal gloves and more exhaust fan not only on top but also on sidewall.

It was snowing so I skied here. Helpful staff let me store my skis safely. The views of the women on the treadmills are first rate. Beautiful place.

Since my first review- Planet fitness has made up for everything. They cancelled my extra charges and treated me respectfully. Jake and Veronica actually made it very easy on me. Both had friendly smiles and made me feel heard. Jake resolved the issue and within 7 mins and I was out the door. He even made sure to sign a hard copy so this issue could not occur again. Best customer service from these 2 employees. Planet fitness should be proud to have those 2 staffers in their company.Original post was 1star**********Cancelled in April but I was still being charged in June.**********

So glad they hired new people. The place is a lot cleaner now. Sean kills it at night, always see him cleaning everything. In November when I joined I always felt it was a little scummy at nights. Now the machines are clean, the weights and mats are put back, theres no wait to get in a tanning bed while its cleaned by someone who forgot, etc. The new wave of employees at planet fitness in East Hanover has me really pleased. Keep up the good work.

I work down the road and made this my home gym since I workout 4 times a week. Have been very happy since I did. Everything is clean, and is constantly being cleaned by staff. Staff is nice and knowledgeable about billing and other questions I may have. I come in do a quick 30 minute workout during my lunch break and head back to work. It isnt too busy between 11am-1pm and the people who workout there seem nice. Everyone is there to exercise and not hold up multiple machines with their group of friends like some other locations Ive been too.

A fantastic place to have your work outs. The facilities here are top notch. The members and the trainers are all friendly. I am happy to be physically fit!

In terms of the pandemic, they lose points in my book. Disappointing to see staff don’t enforce face coverings in the gym due to a mix of apathy and just not noticing, which is unacceptable. Gym requires face coverings, but once people walk in, they’re out of sight, out of mind. I’ve witnessed staff walk passed members who were violating covid safety guidelines, and say nothing. Members are becoming more brazen in their attempts to remove or not wear their face coverings. Staff need to make more effort to be mindful of those specific members if they see them. If staff continue to remain unaware, things will spin out of control, and the gym will probably eventually get shut down temporarily. That would be a shame.It’s a spacious gym with plenty of cardio and weight training equipment. Very clean, bright, and well maintained. Staff is friendly enough. They’re open 24 hours M-F, which is extremely practical. On weekends, they’re open 7-7, which works out fine. Gym is never insanely busy, though it does pick up from about 5pm-8pm weekdays, and can be busy in the early afternoon on weekends. Course, there aren’t loads of classes and such, which is why membership is so inexpensive, but there is a trainer who gives classes on a first come, first serve basis at specified times.

Love the trainers but most of all the friends Ive met who support/motivate each other during the lessons. The gym is also well maintained and the fees are reasonable!

I want my money back after being charged the day before they closed. Horrible company take your money elsewhere.

I traveled 25 minutes to this Planet Fitness location based upon the very positive reviews. I can quite honestly say that this was one of the cleanest and professionally maintained locations Ive seen in a while. The staff are very courteous and friendly and all of them take pride in their work. They definitely earned the five stars and I will be visiting again in the near future...

Ive tried several gyms in the area and this is the best gym Ive found for a few reasons The sign up process is no BS like other gyms, the quality of the people here is much better than any other gym Ive been to, the machines are always working properly, they are always cleaning the place bathrooms are clean machines are clean and there always seems to be enough weights and machines where you dont have to wait around Staff is always friendly

I like this Planet Fitness. It’s large, well maintained, with a friendly staff. This location seems to be pretty popular, as it’s often busy after work hours, but still enough equipment that I usually don’t have to wait very long to use something.

Always empty paper towel machines! Took out all the soaps in showers. Water fountains are dirty and never cold water.

Clean, friendly, non judgmental atmosphere, plenty of equipment, as well as charge ports for ones phone on the treadmills, all for 10$ a month. 20$ a month gets a deluxe / black card membership which includes unlimited free tanning, message chair, message bed, as well as guest privelege to use other locations and the perk of bringing a non member friend to workout free. Definitely worth it

Just noting that there are No rowing machines at this location the model of their elliptical machines is older and not configured the best (ie. Knees hit and arm workout wasn’t the best on these.)

The gym is pretty good. Wish Planet Fitness had a classroom for use. Unfortunately, I experienced disgusting customer service this morning. As a woman (speaking for myself) its intimidating to go to the gym in general . There was a lady behind the desk this morning who checked me in however had the most disgusting attitude about herself. She had a very bully-like demeanour. No smile whatsoever. It definitely gave me a bad vibe about being there and Ive never felt so un-welcomed and like I may be involved in an altercation just trying to check in . Ive been to this location a few times a few months ago. The customer service I experienced in the presence of KJ who was behind the desk during my visits was phenomenal. I pay extra to attend any location. I probably will take a break from this one until that lady is gone. I like to keep my days positve and spread positivity. Not negativity. And thats what that lady is spreading there. Let me know when KJ is back.

This is the worst place Ive ever been too. Took six months to cancel a simple gym membership! When I called to ask why this process was so ridiculous to cancel a simple membership. Was treated very poorly by their staff on the phone. If I could give it a zero I would. Go somewhere else for your gym. This place is horrendous and Planet Fitness has clearly shown they do not care about their customers at all. All they care about is tricking customers out of their money.

Dana showed me around the club and explained the different areas. She let me try to massage chair and the hydo massage. She explained the plans to me. While she did the tour she clearly explained that the room the last review references was to be done in sequence following the timing set up. Just because no one was there when you started doesnt mean no one will come in an want to do the circuit in the proper order. My only complaint is that employees should make sure the massage chair is adjusted to height of the customer. It hit me in the wrong spot and my neck was in real pain for over a week after using it.

Great workout, gym not overly crowded

Im from Philadelphia (2 hours away) and there was a situation in which my previous Planet Fitness has transferred my moms account to another location in Philly but apparently to this location as well. I have never been charged for both places so I never knew about this until I got an annual fee from them days ago. I reached out and was told that I would be contacted. Days went by without a call back so managerial staff are not attentive to account issues that need to be addressed. I called back and although they could confirm that we never have once checked in, they refused to reimburse the charge. I even had the transferring locations manager call to talk to them about this weird situation but still they were adamant on keeping the money.

Stopped in here for the first time today, doing what Ive typically done at other Planet Fitness locations Ive been too. As I make my way into the 30 Minute Workout room with my buddy (which was empty aside from a personal trainer and the woman she was with), we began our routine. What I tend to do is jump around to different machines depending on what area Im working. After being in there for about 10 minutes, the trainer DANA rudely states to my friend and I, as well as another gentleman that had just entered the room, that if we werent gonna go along with the circuit then we should leave because *sarcastically* those machines are out on the floor. Most unpleasant experience Ive had at any gym Ive been to, and Ive never had this happen at any of the other Planet Fitness locations I frequent. Ive worked out beside personal trainers in groups before doing my own thing while they did theirs. People here are unprofessional. Machines are nice though, thats about it.

Wide selection of machines and this place is huge for a good monthly price.

Always clean. Friendly staff. Lots of machines. Sometimes crowded but never to the point of not wanting to be there. Depending on time of day, can be a little annoying to get there with traffic.
