The Center for Therapy and Counseling has been life changing for both my daughter and I. I will forever be grateful for all the wonderful staff and professionalism of the Center. They have helped my daughter and I come closer and communicate better, we now have a bonding relationship that has helped us evolve and understand each other and I owe this to everyone at the center for therapy and counseling. As a parent I have found answers and comfort when there was none, and now consider this center as part of our family. I highly recommend this center to anyone in need of counseling services.
The experience was wonderful. It is a great outlet with therapists that really listen, understand, and care for the client. I love that they are connecting with and encouraging clients of Asian background to seek the help they need! Highly recommend!
Starting therapy is such a scary process. I’m so happy my family and I found this place because we felt so welcomed and comfortable beginning therapy for the first time. Even making appointments with the receptionist was so easy. I feel like my family was matched to the therapist that best fit them for their needs. I definitely recommend this office!
This is such a wonderful place. I’m so glad I found it. I’ve never gone to any kind of therapy session before so it was a bit nerve wrecking but everyone who works here made me feel so comfortable. I feel like I’m making so much progress and it’s all thanks to their amazing staff. I can’t recommend this place enough!
We went here for counseling, and we had an intake session. At the intake session they said they would contact us 2-3 weeks to assess our needs and match us with a therapist. Three weeks pass by, and no one contacts us. So we call them and no one picks up (multiple times) and leave a message saying we havent been contacted regarding our therapist match-up.The Center ends up calling us back and leaving a message saying that their Director was out of the office and it would take an ADDITIONAL 1-2 weeks to be matched. We were really angry about this since we had already waited so long and we were not informed about this additional delay.Let me remind you that we havent spoken to anyone on from the Center on the phone since we had our intake a month ago. Its been a week since we were informed of the additional delay and they still havent called us with any updates. We called them again and although they were apologetic, it honestly doesnt make up for their complete lack of customer service and lack of courtesy to new patients.Considering this is a Counseling center, I would think that they would make customer service a priority, but its clear they do not. We will not be using their services anymore and are currently looking for other options.
I go to the center for personal and couples therapy and my son and step daughter go as well individually. They are very caring and helpful and choosing the center was a great decision. The wait for appointments initially is a bit long, but for the care they provide it is well worth it and they really work with you to accommodate your schedule.
Welcoming staff & therapists. Very warm environment with experienced professionals for individual, family & couples therapy. I have found The Center for Therapy & Counseling Services to be truly invested in helping others with their mental health. So blessed to have found this gem!
Not child friendly. My child developed a high fever at 4 pm the day before his appointment and because we could not give 24 hours notice, they imposed a cancellation fee on us!! This is forcing parents to bring their children to the appointments sick!! Its unethical and robbery!!Also, they nickle and dime you for everything. My child has other healthcare providers involved in his care and The Center charges you for the Therapist to discuss any information with other Doctors. Disgusting
Im an adult that went here twice and there is so much about this place i would stay away from. The first therapist, molly, was amazing for me but i could not keep up with the co-pay so on my part, i left.i went back for help again a few months later and got this really weird lady. Initally, she was good! caring but firm, in a reassuring way. HOWEVER, i mentioned was NOT doing well and expressed my downward emotions thru text as well. she called the cops without finding out where i was or warning me. Thats another story. When i got out of the hospital, she became “a bit upset” because i wasnt there long enough for her liking.CHECK THE CREDENTIALS. We shouldn’t have to sift out therapists that are actually helpful, but you have to do that here.
I took my daughter here for an intake session at the Edison location on November 15th. As Im filling out the intake forms I come across a automatic payment sheet for the copay to be removed from my debit card. I told them I will not fill this out because I want to pay with what I come with that day. So the counselor said thats okay. They told me in 1 week my daughter would be assigned a therapist. I didnt get a call for 3 weeks which is way too long and not okay in my opinion to keep the intake and first session that far apart. I paid at both visits (2 different cards, got a receipt and have it on my statement for both payments). 4 days later there is a 3rd charge on my card from The Center for Therapy that I did not authorize them to take from my card. Someone went out of their way and processed a payment from one of my cards that I did not authorize them to do. So now I am fighting with them to get my 30 dollars back. And Christmas is a few days away. I feel violated and will not go to a place where they do not care or think about their patients rights and most of all feelings. Dont go here. Also check your therapists credentials too bc they are super inexperienced
If you need help with life issues this is the place to go. People here listen to you and your needs and guide you. Do not wait to ask help.
Parents advised to not send their minor children alone for therapy. I suspect Suggestive techniques utilized.
This is a good place to be safe and find yourself.
I went for an initial visit which was considered an (Intake Session) in the Edison office. I was advised I had to wait three weeks later to get an assigned therapist, and had to go to three sessions to be diagnosed. My first visit was July 24th and no one has called regarding a follow up, nor do they answer the phone when you call. Im so glad I found another therapist that answer the phone and see patients, instead of waiting three weeks later for counseling. I wouldnt recommend this place at all.
Intial visit said call in two weeks, called three weeks later. I would deal with people who cant keep their own appointments.
The therapist was very open and caring
