This shop is like the places I used to visit as a teenager. The barbers and the clients know each other AND their family. I felt welcome, like they were grateful to see me and couldnt wait to help me out. Andre took the time to explain to me what he was doing every step of the way so we can communicate even better as time goes on. I would not hesitate to this shop. I already did, to my new neighbor. I hope he gives it a shot.

Just moved here recently and my oldest needed a cut for school. Everyone was welcoming. My son sat with André for his cut. Showed him the style my son wanted on my phone. He made my son sharp AF! Definitely coming back soon.

So i was looking for a good barbershop close to work and google did not fail me. (5 minutes from my job) I was very impressed with the reviews so I thought yep lets check it out. There was just a comfortable vibe from the time I walked in. I guess I hit the jackpot by choosing to go in yesterday because I met my new barber Ken. He did an amazing job and gained a new customer. I am completely satisfied with the cut and the experience. Thanks fellas.

My son and I went here for the first time. I read reviews and everyone said it was a good shop. My experience was different. There were three barbers on duty. One had a client in his chair. The other two were lounging around. The place was empty except for my son, me and the other customer. The two available barbers claimed they were waiting on appointments. I said thats cool. The barber named Andre asked for my number and said he would text me when he had a slot open. He said it would be in a few hours. I left and waited for the text. Nothing all day, not even a courtesy text to let me know he couldnt cut me and my son. I wont be coming back to this place. I guess my money/business wasnt that important to them.

This was a great, relaxed, old school kinda place and I loved it.Waiting time was a little longer but I was game for that. Read books, enjoy the slow moving time waiting for your turn.Andre was very patient, ensured I was doing okay as this was my 1st time there. I had a great, never before style haircut.This place is worth an experience and my way of supporting the local businesses.Thank you!

I stopped in for a quick haircut and two things happened. I got a great hair cut and had a great conversation. Andre was awesome. I highly recommend it. If I lived in this area, this would be the only place I would get my haircut.

My son has gone to Mr. Rick at Unity & Respect for the majority of his life. Definitely a traditional barber shop with a great atmosphere! No fussing and cussing, only positive vibes and good energy. I love that they take appointments, so we dont have to sit and waste our time. Unity & Respect is a hidden treasure!

Dropped in during a short visit from UK. Rick and Andre were very welcoming, despite me not making an appointment. I got one of the best haircuts of my life from Rick, who was attentive, thorough, professional and had impeccable attention to detail. Maybe I was there on a good day, but the barber shop had a friendly and community spirited atmosphere - which Im finding increasingly rare back home in UK.

I’ve tried a few different barbershops since moving to Durham. They have all delivered a decent cut at a fair price, but Unity&Respect shows them all up. The guys in there clearly know what they are doing and are very personable. It’s hard leaving a barber you have been going to for a long time for someone new but this place will be my go to spot for as long as I live in Durham.

Was in town for a Basketball tournament and my son needed a haircut. Saw the previous reviews and decided to give them a try and Im so glad we did! We walked in and were greeted like locals! Andre took his time and was very attentive to my son who as an Autistic is very wary of trying new things. The cut and trimmed up mustache look great and the price is very reasonable. I recommend his shop to out of towners as well as locals!!

I’m from Apex and I did not know much about barbershops in Durham. Due to work, I decided to try to get a cut during lunch time instead of trying after work. Thanks to Google, I found this place and called and got an appointment with Andre. He gave me exactly what I had asked for and did so in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend this place to people that are in the area.

Been trying to find a new Barber since moving and these guys are great! Should have written the review when their names were fresh in my mind, but they were awesome - great haircut and as an added bonus they were extremely friendly and very funny. Definitely more enjoyable and personable than a chain, they seemed to know the name of every person that came in while I was there.

Visiting town and tried my luck at Unity & Respect. Rick did me up something nice and I walked out feeling fresh fresh. Fresh like I hit the lotto. This will definitely be my go to shop when I’m in the area.

Amazing service. I was coming into town on a business trip and needed a quick Shape Up. Andre was able to cut exactly what I wanted and double-checked to make sure it was perfect. If you live here or out of town you can trust these guys 100%, to do 100%.
