I never thought about going to a barbershop for a haircut, but I was short on time and popped in to see if they could cut my hair. Well, let me just say, I was so glad I did. The stylist Jennifer, did a FANTASTIC job in my hair and got me in and out with enough time to eat lunch before heading back to work.I HIGHLY recommend this shop and ask for Jennifer, she was polite, courteous, and listen to exactly what I wanted. This is a very clean and professional shop, you will not be disappointed in your service and your haircut.

I am so surprised to see that this place is ranked well. This place absolutely gave me the worst haircut I have ever had. Furthermore, the service provided wasn’t personable at all. Perhaps if the woman listened, she wouldn’t have cut my hair and my partner’s hair so terribly. I still tipped because of the economic struggles of folks due to the pandemic; however, please do not go here. You’ll be face timing your friends, parents, siblings, etc., and they will be like, “what happened to your hair?!” At least, that’s what happened to us.

Great experience here. Staff was friendly and accommodating of a last minute schedule change. Kathy did a great job and the appointment was very efficient. The price for a haircut is also very reasonable. Will definitely be back!

Not sure how this place is still in business one tear open asked for a tapered cut with an inch off the top which should usually take about 45 minutes to an hour to do well she was done in less than 10 minutes and the cut looks terrible will not be back

I love all the haircuts I have ever experienced since going there. I moved here in 2019 and started going since the end of 2019. They are super clean, they do amazing cuts and great pricesThey just hired a great new stylist, first time meeting him today. He was amazing and a great sense of humor and a awesome accent.I dont usually have men cut my hair usually only women since I just have more experience with them, but the addition of him is nice and I hope he lasts.Great job new stylist Engin, I think thats how you spell it.My other favorite stylist is Joy who is funny and does great work.I dont usually do reviews but I had to this time :) I got a new haircut today

I was a walk-in and only waited for maybe 15 minutes. Once I was seated, my barber, Joy, was very attentive and pleasant. The only barber to give me the haircut Ive been looking for. Thanks Joy!

Extremely pleasant place. The salon is clean and well-organized. It is fitted with a large TV which keeps people entertained while waiting for their turn. Parking is really easy around the place.The hair stylists are professional and courteous. The one who cut my hair understood exactly what I wanted and she has good skills. I am extremely happy with my haircut. Most importantly, they provide post-hair cut washing and neck shave services. I felt really refreshed after the wash and the neck shave.I would recommend Parks Barber to anyone who is looking for a place to get their hair done.

I made a reservation for Sept 29 at 2:30pm with Joy via the online booking system on their Website (and I have the email confirm to prove this). I specifically chose Joy because she was mentioned in another review as having done a good job and is the owner of the place. But when I got there Joy was not there and Zenatra (sic?) cut my hair. This is dishonest business and its a bait and switch. To be fair, the lady who did cut my hair was nice and did a good enough job but I probably wont go back.

Even after the slight increase in price this is still the best place in town to get a haircut. Staff are pleasant and enjoyable. Great atmosphere as well highly recommend

I came today on 11/24 to Parks Barber Shop off Leesville road location being its only a mile from my Apartment @ the Ashton. Always going to a new barber can be stressing, not knowing if your hair will come out as you would expect. Ive had a few chop jobs on the other side of Raleigh before the pandemic hit.Mr.Park was not late, had me and my wife get warm from the cold air outside still @ 9am, and he not only told me id like his cut but promised my wife Id look like a new man again after Covid-19 lockdown I came in looking rough. I said I do a Zero fade to a Faux Hawk scissor cut on top. He did a super job and looks fantastic especially to the chop jobs I had off Capital Blvd when I was struggling living out of an extended stay motel. Mr.Park I cant be more appreciated🙏🏻 how well it came out!! You Sir now have a new steady client. Ill be there every two weeks @ 9am as promised for a good shape-up. Its been a real pleasure meeting him and one of your staff members. Hes doing something rite being hes been in business for a decade or more cutting hair in the Raleigh(Durham) NC area.Hey in my book Parks Barber Shop gets 5 stars from me. Great fade Mr. Park. Great haircut for a great price!

There were no clients in there and 2 stylist who didnt even want to get up when I waked in. I got a “fade” and it was rushed, looks terrible( less than 10 min). I wouldn’t recommend anything more than a buzz cut. I almost didn’t even leave a tip. Find a better place to take your money.

I always have a great experience here. The wait time is low, prices are reasonable, all the staff are polite, and do a great job with my haircut every time. Highly recommended!

Park’s Barber Shop is really great. I’ve been coming here for about a year now and haven’t had a single bad experience (which is a first!). Considering the friendly staff and full haircut/shave deal they offer, I don’t think anywhere else beats them. I rarely have to wait for a long time and the stylists really try to make sure they know what you want.

I have bounced around from Great Clips, SportsClips, and a couple others, but Parks is the best by far.I am a steady client, always seeking out Candace. She gives me a scissors cut which my wife says is the best cut since we moved here 7 years ago.The owner, Mrs. Park, couldnt be nicer. The place is always clean, and except for peak times on a weekend, hardly any wait during the week.Their rate includes a razor trim for the neck, as well as a hot towel.Nice folks. Good cut. Well priced.

She did a decent job. Assuming I wanted to look like a member of the Aryan nation. .Which is NOT something I want. she didnt listen to my request and seemed a tad annoyed when I wanted to clarify something. But skill wise she did well. just went way to short but It will look better in a week, Also took my eyes brows off without asking. Im pretty upset. 3 stars for price and semi quality cut(just not what I asked for)

First time customer today. I enjoyed how clean and inviting the place was while the 2 ladies were very welcoming. Joy gave a great haircut, neck shave and shampoo. I have read past reviews about shoulder massages, but I dont know if they still offer that. She didnt offer one, so I didnt ask. All in all, a great value for a nice haircut/shampoo. Will definitely be back!

Best place to get a haircut. Me and my friends always go there and have been going there every month or so for the past 3 years. Always great barbers, they are the only ones who know how to cut your hair. Its also super cheap and 100x better than great clips or other places. Would highly recommend.

As a student at UNC, Parks is the BEST place to get a haircut. Not only is it the most affordable option, they are quick, and do a wonderful job every time! You don’t only pay for the haircut but you also get a shampoo and neck shave along with it! 10/10 recommend. Get the most for your dollar, the experience and the haircut are worth the less than 10 min drive

So I always go to this place, and they have been doing well. However I got this stylist today named Angel, (may be new never had her before), who wasn’t happy and was not trying to do a good job. She left a few bumps on my hair, didn’t wipe dry my hair before put on gel. Now my hair looks like I just get out of my bed.

I was visiting from out of town and found this shop online. It was the best haircut experience Ive ever had. I was a walk-in. They got to me quickly. I got a great haircut, a warm towel on my face while they washed my hair, and a neck shave. This level of service has not existed for decades.

Just a simple barbershop. They do good work at a fair price. Clean shop with several tvs and friendly staff. You can walk in but they will allow appointments. Prices have gone up a bit over time but they still are reasonable enough. They do a full face shave option if looking for a treat.

Been going to Parks consistently for months now and Ive always left happy with my haircut. They do a great job taking their time and the staff is very friendly too. I recommend it to all my friends who are tired of the hit-or-miss quality of the chain haircut places.

Ive been going to Parks Raleigh location for years now and this new location is more convenient from my work. I get the same great service and amazing pricing Ive come to expect. The wait at this new location is currently shorter as no ones found it yet.The hair cut is an experience. You get the cut you ask for of course. Plus you get a neck shave, hot towel, and shoulder massage. And I get that nice warm fuzzy of supporting a local shop.

I have gone here plenty of times and have always gotten good service. However, last time I went I had gotten the worst haircut of my life. If you can avoid the blond stylist with lots of piercings she will not listen to what you say and just cut however she wants. Fortunately the owner gave me a full refund.

After a couple of haircuts which left the sides of my hair uneven, I stumbled on this place. Clean and quiet. Candace took care to give a precision cut and overall did an excellent job.

I have been going to Park’s for about 4 years, starting as a UNC undergrad student and now doing grad school. First and foremost, Park’s does an AMAZING job. I’ve never seen a single person (young or old) who hasn’t had the absolute best experience. Secondly, the people here are SOO nice and friendly. I recommend Parks to anyone and everyone looking for nothing but the best out of a haircut and experience.

Comfortable barbers chairs, quiet and relaxed environment. Jacquetta cut my hair at a careful, steady pace and I was very pleased with the result. Barber shops usually stress me out but I felt quite relaxed after I got my neck shaved, a brief machine-neck massage, and a hair wash. Eleven bucks really is a hard price to beat!

I love this place despite the ever changing roster of stylists. They are friendly, always ready for a walk in and generally do a good job. Cant beat the price and the hot foam neck shave and shoulder massage are an added perk.

Always happy with the haircuts and the prices are great. If you go in for the beard shave it’s really nice if the owner does it but don’t bother if others are doing it. I’ve only had it done well if the owner is doing it.

The last experience was horrible. The stylist was very unfriendly and non communicative.My son showed him a picture of the hair style he wanted, asked if he could get that. She said yes and not ask anything else.She cut his hair do horribly.....he is so upset.They have jacked up the price to 18 and have stylist who cannot cut hair.Save your money and go somewhere else.

Its worth $40 more to go somewhere else. Im amazed to see so many high reviews. Ive been making stops here since it opened for when I need a convenient cut. It was good two years ago. Now, for every one good hair cut, you get four bad. I am moving on, after a recent series of the worst hair cuts ever.

I was very impressed with my experience here. It is a very spacious and clean barber shop, and for $11.50, you get a haircut, neck shave, shampoo and massage. I have been going to Parks for about 2 years now and it is the only place I will frequent in Durham. It is safe to say that I am very particular about my hair and get it cut every two weeks. Jonice is my go-to stylist and she is quite literally the best!!! Over the course of around 100 haircuts, I have never once been disappointed. I should note that when I first started coming to Parks I also had a few cuts by Carmen and she is also very talented. In terms of price, consistency, cleanliness, and offerings (i.e. neck shave, hot towels, shampoo) Parks is hands down the best deal in Durham. Sure you can get $25 dollar haircut else where and there are other good spots in Durham, but the ladies here know your name and remember exactly what you like! With the lower, reasonable price you can always tip a bit better and they will without a doubt take care of you!

Highly recommended. For the same price as a cut at Great Clips, you get the full treatment, with hot towels and a shampoo. Really an incredible value. My wife loved the results. This will be a monthly ritual for me.

Cheapest place around (in terms of price) but the absolute BEST customer service and bang for your buck. Ive been a regular here for a while now and I bring all my friends here to get their haircut and now theyre regulars too. The barbers here know how to cut all sorts of hair and do it well.

I come here regularly and receive great clipper cuts from both Carmen and Jonice. High points on price and professionalism. Very friendly owner. The only downside is the occasional wait during peak hours on Saturday. No RSVPs here but worth it nonetheless.

Excellent deal for the price... service was excellent, the cut, the shampoo, the massage... I felt like I got a lot for my money. My barber, a female, Terisa or something like that, Boston accent, did a better job than any haircut by a male barber that I have been to since moving from New London, CT approximately 5 years ago. This is my new barber spot as I usually go to the one in Northgate Mall... I recommended to all my friends, coworkers, and associates.

I normally get a great cut here. But recently, I asked for a different cut (leaving it a bit longer) and realized that one side of my head was cut close to the scalp and the other had 2 inches of hair. I went back to get it corrected, only to be met by attitude, saying I asked to keep the hair long, and thats what I got (with no comment on it being super short on one side and long on the other). She fixed it by cutting my hair really close on each side, but leaving the back long. So now I have a mullet. The owners are fantastic. But anytime I have my hair cut by someone other than the owner, I am met with attitude and a bad haircut.
