The haircut I was given was unsatisfactory. I moved here from the DMV area and I expected more from a barbershop with nearly 5 stars! Im good on this barbershop and hope to find a better one in Raleigh or go to ATL and get my hair cut correctly! This is very disappointing! I had to leave this review so that people knew the 100% truth in experience and were not misled like I was.

This place is a throwback to the good ole days of neighborhood family barbershops. I have twin 7 year old boys and it does my heart good to sit back and watch them soak up that old school “it takes a village”, mentality when they get their hair cuts every 2 weeks. Scheduling online was very easy. The shop was very clean. Bags who is my Masonic brother was very welcoming. I needed to get a shape up and my son a hair cut at the last minute and called Bags and he stayed to take care of me and my son. He was professional and made sure my shape up was to my expectations.

This was my first appointment @ Ego, and I will certainly be back. As far as the haircut goes, Jacobs attention-to-detail is incredible. I appreciated a couple updates and questions from him during the cut, before taking too much length off, fading too high, etc. Appointments are easily booked online, and atmosphere is very relaxing. Comfortable and very professional environment. Just started coming here a few months ago, and have had very positive experiences. I work 9 to 5 Mondays thru Fridays, so Saturdays are best for me. It can be busy on some Saturday mornings, with only Jacob and K cutting, so I prefer to stop by after noon. Recent price increases went into effect this month, but there is still good value in the service that is provided, here. Maybe, there will be more amenities for the guests to enjoy while waiting, in the near future. Personally, that would help to justify the now $20 price for a Mens cut. At any rate, this is a quality barbershop.

My boyfriend’s haircut was the worst. He was looking for a shape up but it came out uneven, one side is totally out of line that ended with a big curve in his hair, and he didn’t even use a straight razor to leave it clean. Definitely not going back, definitely not recommending. ESPECIALLY for $12.
