Dave goes out of his way to accommodate us, and is very knowlegeable and patient with those of us that are not as computer savvy! I cannot overstate the great care that they gave to my grandparents in their greatest time of need. My grandpa was only able to really sit at his desk and play at his computer... meaning that he would call them constantly for technical issues and they ensured that he had everything he needed and showed true care and compassion. Recently they took great care of me as I traded in a computer and used that to purchase some new AirPods... which ended up having a defect. They promptly replaced them. If you need anything Mac related... try them first.
Customer Service.I have an OLD ipod shuffle. The little 2x2 square ones. Ive had it for 8 years and cannot believe it still works and I havent lost it. I recently found that I could no longer plug a jack into the aux port which rendered it useless unless it was plugged in directly via USB to a computer. I thought maybe there was just something lodged in it, and I could dig it out. I couldnt. So while running errands I thought Id stop in to the Mac Ranch, our local apple experts, and see whats up. Three minutes later they had dug out some paper and lint and it worked fine, at no charge. So stoked to have my little ipod working again. May seem stupid and trivial, but it means a lot. Good people, highly suggested local resource.
Im really glad to find a good Mac repair center. These folks were incredibly polite to me on the phone, went out of their way to track down a warranty repair that Apple hasnt been very forthcoming about, and then do the work. They even held on to my laptop and case for me while I was away for a couple of weeks, until I could return and pick them up. Super nice, respectful, and professional every step of the way. Highly recommended.
Dave, Ken, and the guys at the Mac Ranch are FANTASTIC to work with. They have generously helped service our older, donated computers to keep them going as long as we can. We are a small non-profit, special needs school that serves dyslexic children and have little funds to maintain these items. Speedy replacement of mac book pro battery.
My work computer which I purchased from Mac Ranch Crashed today.I have always dealt with the owners and been satisfied. Today I dealt with the service advisor who has been a computer service advisor for 10 years.Apparently he still hasnt learned anything about CUSTOMER service -He showed no empathy for my somewhat desperate computer situation. I asked what might cause the screen to be covered in numbers and text and his smug response was, I dunno...I had to leave town in the morning and I wouldnt be able to leave my laptop because I wouldnt be back for 10 days.I asked, how would you like to be without your computer for 10 days??Blank stare. Long and short is I go home and my better half fixed it in less than five minutes (and shes a PC girl).Takeaway -Mac Ranch owners are great - Service Advisor in serious need of customer service training - or a demotion.👎🏿
I thought I would have to replace my 2011 MacBook Pro and the Mac Ranch was able to upgrade my computer and get it operating brand new (including the Windows system). Saved me hundreds of $. Good service they had what I needed but my only problem was when I purchase my case and screen protector the tech/sales puts my screen protector on and leaves huge bubbles and tells me I need to push them out myself I have other things to do. Spending close to 200 dollars I got good products but bad service.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. I recently had the screen replaced on my iPhone X, and it was so much easier to work with them than Apple Care or AT&T. They even took the time to send my phone to Apple for diagnostics because they knew of a possible defect which resulted in a free repair. They saved me hundreds of dollars!

I am also a local business owner and love to support local when I can. I am glad to have found the mac Ranch for my apple computer needs. I just love the homely individualized help they give. The owner Dave always has more information help than I requested. I felt like they were all about helping me meet my needs and not just pushing another product on me. They know their stuff and I would not go anywhere else for my apple computer and accesory needs.
I took my older computer in for a data transfer to my newer computer and was pleased with both the timeliness and the results. The staff is very knowledgeable and capable. Recently I tried to find pictures on my new computer and couldnt. I was unable to find cherished pictures of my beloved golden retriever and was very upset. I took both computers back in and Dave was able to retrieve the pictures from my old computer. He updated my photo library and transferred the pictures without charge. So grateful for his kindness and expertise!

Unfortunately, you have to highlight at least one star in order to write a review. If I had the option I wouldnt even give this business one star. I walked in looking for an external hard drive to transfer data from a Windows based computer to a new iMac. I had called 4 times to see if they had what I was looking for and they did not ever pick up. While the store is nicely set up and they do have a small selection to choose from, they do not price match. I had just visited another local store which was out of stock of the drive I wanted. I asked the ranch if they would price match and he said that they couldnt because they had to sell it for what the manufacturer sold it for (which is false because their price was $50 more than what the other local store sold it for and I looked on the manufacturer website and they didnt even sell it for what the ranch sold theirs for). Then he proceeded to argue with me for 15 minutes about how what I wanted really wasnt what I wanted and claimed to be the store owner (also false). To top it off, he was going to charge me a 20% restocking fee if it didnt work and I brought it back. If it didnt work (unknown at the moment) it wouldnt be my fault. So why should I get charged to restock something that didnt work in the first place? This is not a good business in my opinion and I will never take my business here again.
Brought in a my MBP for a warranty service that was supposed to be covered 100% by apple. Mac Ranch wants $100 to “clean my keyboard” and submit the FREE warranty claim. Very disorganized shop, a MAC Ranch rep told me over the phone days ago to just bring it in and it would be 100% covered. These guys are a joke. Nothing like a real apple store and they do not offer real apple services. Buy direct from apple. Why support local when local doesn’t support us.

MacRanch totally updated my old Mac and did a fantastic job. It is almost like a new computer. And then they spent time with me educating me on how best to keep it at this level. Mac Ranch is THE BEST
WARNING!! Dont use! Claimed I had 27 viruses on my Mac, wiped it, sold me a back up and reloaded a version of Office that I hadnt paid for and therefore wasnt compatible with my machine. First, I could not charge the battery and now my Mac will only work if its plugged in. My computer worked fine before I took it in to these hacks. I only took it to them as a precaution because my wifi had been hacked and although there were no signs of a computer breach, I wanted to be careful. Huge mistake on my part and a financial waste of money. I no longer live in Durango but after bringing these issues to the attention to The Mac Ranch, the reminded me that my computer had 27 viruses, and that if I brought it back that there would likely be a charge at their normal, hourly rate. Mac Ranch did not notify me when my computer was done and when I finally telephoned, strung me along as to when I could pick up my Mac Pro. Im extremely angry and frankly better as Im all about supporting the small businesses in Durango but would not encourage anybody to use this business.

Mac Ranch has helped me on several computer issues since they first moved from Steamboat to Durango - as I recall I first went to them about 3 years ago. I needed help on two different desktop Macs and an iPad. In all cases, Mac Ranch solved my problems w/o much of a delay. About a month ago, I purchased a new 21 desktop from Mac Ranch. The cost was a bit more than online prices, but well worth the difference because of the advice and assistance I received. I am pleased to give them a 5-star rating.

This shop is absolutely worthless. They claim to get parts overnighted and they do not. They have had my computer for over a week and got a bad part so will have it for likely 2 weeks with nothing done to it. Its better to just send your product into apple yourself and get whatever you need done by them. These people are clueless.

I dropped my computer off for a minor clean up and I was out of storage. I live in Ouray so this is the closest place and they had good reviews. It was a vintage MacBook but it FUNCTIONED WELL. I just picked it up today: 10 minutes for safari to load. 22 minutes for a blank Word document to load. I actually began timing it. The software has also been upgraded, which I’m now told is impossible to undo. It’s is essentially useless now.. I spent over $500, and walked out with a computer in tenfold worst shape than it was when I brought it in. I wish I would’ve never let them touch my MacBook.I did call the store and while everyone was courteous and I did receive a partial refund, they offered no solution for the intense change in my computer’s function other than that I could bring it by the shop for them to look at again. They had it for over 5 months (my fault) and during that time, no one thought to turn it on and make sure the work was was done properly??

Last night, in the middle of a call, my iPhone 6 died. Perfect timing, as I fly to Germany tomorrow for business... urgh. I brought it in to have the battery replaced (it had been replaced in Jan--but apparently there was a bad batch of batts, since my wifes replacement had also had to be replaced again). It turned out that the batteries were unfortunately out of stock... but because of my predicament, Ian chased down a battery from one of the other Mac vendors and and installed it for me-at no charge. He also added some frosting by switching out my chipped screen for me, thanking me for being a repeat customer. Talk about going above and beyond--that was really cool. I recommend Mac Ranch and will return there with confidence in the years to come. Thanks, guys!

The Mac Ranch encompasses everything good about Durango, laid back with high quality service. I had repairs done to my MacBook and was extremely happy. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and very reasonably priced.
The Mac Ranch can not be trusted. They have opened a repair store down town and are falsely advertising that they are apple certified to repair apple devices. There is no such certification for Apple i phones and people are being led to believe that there is. As a licensed Apple dealer they are not allowed by Apple to repair these devices and are in direct violation of their dealership contract with Apple.
The best place to handle all your Apple needs. These guys know technology but dont have an attitude about it.

December 2015, I purchased a new IMAC 21 Retina Computer. Brought old computer in to transfer data from older IMAC. Problems came up on the new IMAC. The issue was when going to transfer the old data, the technician did not check for any possible Malware. Had to go back to the store as the new computer was having issues. Christine was excellent (so she gets 5 Stars)......she noticed the problem right away. Had to have the Malware taken off the new computer. Then I had to bring the old computer in to check it. Yes, that was the problem. Hopefully in the future, the technician will check old computer before transferring to a new computer. Bottom line, The Mac Ranch solved the issues. Kudos to Christine who is very professional.
I purchased an iPad in 2012 and decided to begin a journey to become totally Apple by the end of 2015. My experience with the Mac Ranch was very beneficial along that journey. I have now purchased a Mac from these great folks, another iPad and an iPod. Just recently I also bought an iPhone which they do not sell. I have felt fully supported and never had the sense that they were just trying to sell me something. Additionally, I have taken 2 of their classes and will continue to expand my learning through Mac Ranch. Whether I am working with Dave or Cristina, I have been completely satisfied.

I had a negative experince with the sales staff. They were rude and arrogant.I ended up ordering on-line as they would not acknowledge that there is a MacBook Prowith a 13inch screen, 2.5 GHZ I5 intel processor, 4 gigs ram and a 500 gig hard drive.They insisted this was an AirBook so I orderded from the Apple Store. Computer is on the way.They wanted to argue with me about it-- They should have been nice and communicated on a professional level instead of being argumentative. They should learnTHE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT even when they arent.
