Cancelling your membership is the most ridiculous process, not worth getting into it!!!They require a HANDWRITTEN letter that you send to an outside company that is not received and you have to do this process multiple times before you get even remotely close to cancelling.

The gym was dirty, TVs didn’t work on the cardio equipment, treadmills needed maintenance. They withdrew extra fees from checking account yearly for repairs ( nothing was every repaired)! Tried to get out of the contract by paying the early cancelation fee $275.00 in Jan. They continue to take the weekly payments out as of March!! Been on the phone with several people in the billing department.

I am a frequent gym-goer at the Marion location. I was visiting Dubuque and decided to go to the gym. I was not impressed. First of all, the bathroom had no toilet paper and it was early afternoon. Secondly, the weights that I found to use were torn up and all over the floor. Thirdly, the attachments for the cable machines were scattered all over the floor as well. I thought the use of space was poorly designed and cramped. I was genuinely upset with my experience and I believe that when someone pays that much for a membership, they deserve a cleaner and better experience.

The convenience aspect is so great! I work 2nd shift and want to get my workout in after work! I enjoy the small gym feel but it has everything I need to get any type of workout in!

I actively use this gym. Wish the rating were higher but repeatedly walk in to no towels and old equipment. As I travel other Anytime locations are a much better value at this price point. If not traveling and needing locations eveywhere, might look around in Dubuque if interested in new gyms to join.

Jeremiah, Reece, Bobby, and Tasha are great! They are very supportive no matter what stage of your fitness journey you are currently in. Everyone at the club is very friendly and it is kept very clean. They have all the weights and machines you would need. Stop in, and share your goals with them and they can help you make them a reality!

Is there anyone other than the employees that I can talk to about issues I’m having with the place?

Good gym for weight lifting. Good variety of equipment and open space for agility drills/aerobics. Lost 2 starts due to out of date treadmill equipment. Brent are old and need to be replaced. Theres no grip and its easy to slip.

Tons of equipment to choose from. Convenient location. I like that I can work out on my own or they have personal trainers too.

I needed motivation and structure last winter to get ready for my spring outdoor work season. Jeremiah Welch at Anytime Fitness in Dubuque helped me do exactly that 3 times a week for 2 months. I went from an age 46 “dad bod” to a much leaner, stronger, more flexible version of me that I was very happy and confident with. He made a customized plan combining 60-70 unique lifts/exercises, he coached me on proper form, posture, and breathing through each one of them, and he modified my sets as needed to accommodate a former toe injury. Small example: I went from doing 3/4 of a pull-up at the start, to 6 pull-ups at the end, and we didnt even work on pull-ups very much. My sessions with him are over now, but I will carry his movement and strength coaching techniques everywhere I go. I can’t recommend him enough because of his skill, professionalism, and positive attitude! My only regret is I didn’t take before/after pics like he suggested.

Some of the staff are very helpful. However at the now only Dubuque location, there is not as much variety for equipment as there was at the downtown location. The space is small and not effective for everyone. When they made this change, they were not very helpful in aiding in discontinuing my service. I have tried to contact the owner and have yet to get a response after almost a month. It is very difficult to find a time to speak with a staff memeber at this location even during their supposed office hours. they continue to pull money out of my account even though I have taken the steps of mailing a letter of resignation to their company and speaking with numerous staff persons regarding this. I see now it was a mistake to set up direct monthly withdrawals. It does not appear that they fully follow their mission to help others.

I loved meeting all sorts of different people and learning their secrets. Power lifters, athletes, body building, and etc!

Stay away! The ownership of this place I would describe as the complete sleeze bags. I made 6 attempts over a week to resolve an issue on the account every time an employee or a person on the phone said the manager would get back to me, left my number every time and got nothing back. And still never got a response even after a complaint to the corporate office. If you ever want to cancel your account even thou u might of signed up at another location that used to be town they redirect you to ABC financial and have registere mail to stop your account. Even thou the old location used to handle all that for you. If you made a deposit on your key(40 bucks) they wont refund it on the return. Even thou that was a promised return in the original contract. Further more this location sucked in general compared to the old location in showers and treadmills. Always seemed to be issues with the equipment. This again is the worst business Ive ever had to deal with in Dubuque. Stay away from them and try one of the other gyms in town.
