Overall it is an ok gym. The women’s gym area really can use some updated machines. My biggest complaint however, is the lack of AC! I understand it’s a big facility but it feels like a sauna in the summer time. If they would take into consideration some of the concerns brought to their attention, they have the potential to be a great gym.

Gym is fine, until you cancel your membership. They dont actually cancel and continue trying to charge you. Then add late fees for not paying on a membership you canceled

Nice place, I go almost every single night whether Im doing an intense lifting session or coming by to do cardio conditioning, love the Jacobs Ladder. This gym is 24/7, I dont know whats up with the weird schedule its showing over Google. That needs to be fixed.

Ive always gone here because of the womens room. I like the privacy of having a workout room to yourself so you dont feel like youre being watched, and this is the only budget friendly gym that I know of that offers it. I only have a few complaints--the equipment is old. Maybe its just the womens room, but the ellipticals seem to be breaking down and theres no place to put your water bottle because the holders are broken. Ive been a member on and off for years now, and it seems as though the quality continues to decrease over the years. The customer service also isnt the greatest if you have an issue. Each time I reach out it feels as though Im being a bother and I dont really get any explanations/help. Other than that, the gym itself is decent.

Ive been a member at this gym for years never had any issues but I called several times even went to the front desk about my account having issues anddddddd I always get the run around! My issue is That I can’t sign up for classes online which is part of the perks. Then I call and I get someone who says they can’t manually add me, only to hang up call back and get someone else and they add me! Just fix the system they say it’s a manager that has to do it! But it never gets fixed!

Very poor customer service, I went in person the day before my next payment so I can beat the cancelation for the payment after, with me literally being there in person I was still told to email to Cancel my membership weird right? And I went home to email them the exact day I went there, I did the correct requirements etc and I still have yet to receive any type of confirmation about my cancelation or even anything about them reading the email, in fact theyre still charging me and I even have a late fee do to me not using my card anymore, its been over a month and nothing had been said! I even sent an email literally last week and still have received nothing.

Club fitness is like a second home to me. I like the mix of cardio and weights. There are all types there, and all types are welcomed. There are some really fit people there men and women, some average people working to improve and some overweight people determined to take back their fitness. But what you wont find is any smug superior attitudes. Everyone seems cool and supportive. I recommend club fitness to all my friends. I must like it because I drive past 3 places closer to my home, and I also skip Dover Air force base which is free to retirees like me.

I would not recommend this club. We canceled more than a month ahead, like they state, but they still charged us for an extra additional month and said there was nothing they could do about it even though we had paperwork all in order. I understand one month because that’s what is stated. They need 30 days, but the 2nd month is my complaint.

The gym itself is great. Plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, weights, abdominal room etc. The front desk staff just looks at you, no greeting, masks not properly worn. The locker room is a huge source of cross contamination. Men use the urinals, toilets, turn on the faucet, wash their hands and turn off the water faucet with their washed hands. They’re basically touching a faucet that a few dozen men have used, who were touching their private parts and possible spread of fecal matter. Improperly worn masks are not corrected.

I had a membership here for about a year. I loved that the women had their own safe space to work out and not feel as if we were being watched. It wasnt a bad gym, couldve been a little cleaner at that time.

Everyone seems to be socially dispensing. But there is only so much you can do to protect yourself if someone doesnt spray down a machine or something theyve touched with this disinfectant sprays and wipe it down then I guess theres not much you could do but in general it seemed to be pretty safe to be in there.

This people are FRAUD/Thieves.They have been charging me whilst been closed due to COVID. I emailed to cancel membership in June which they confirmed cancellation via email yet I received a mail of delinquent bill charging me till November. Whoever communicates through their billing department was very rude. Beware of this gym. I would go to PLANET FITNESS INSTEAD OF THIS NUT GYM. Am sure they are struggling financially to be stealing from people.

Its $10 a month and it shows. Too many pieces of equipment are broken and they stay broken for far too long. Some equipment has been broken since the 4th of July (almost 5 months now). There are no towels out on the floor.

This is a great gym, especially for $10 a month. Plenty of equipment and friendly staff. If youre looking for a trainer I recommend Leslie. Hes very knowledgeable, very nice, and most importantly Im getting results!

The gym is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, yet the owner is still taking monthly membership dues. I guess she feels that we need to pay her bills... Since nobody is in the gym, nobody is there to answer the phone to SUSPEND all memberships until we are allowed to go back to the gym!! You can cancel my membership because that is a s#!tty business practice to have...My statement is not untrue. I called the day the gym was closing at 8am and I asked to speak to a manager about upcoming billing. I was briefly put on hold and then a male employee answered and stated that ADT processed your billing at that all billing was being suspended that day, not the following day or week or month, but that day. He assured me that I would not be charged which was coming up in five days at that time. Then low and behold, I got an auto deduction from my checking account for my membership dues. That is why I stated that was a s#!tty business practice. Either you wanted to get paid the dues upcoming or your employees do NOT know what they are talking about when they answer the phones. Also, to respond to your received a credit, please review my account and show me my credit that you claim to have given me, because as I see it, my bank account is still $10 light...

I have been going here for YEARS. no problems yet...but I hear a lot of BAD reviews...thats kind of shameful because you guys used to be the biggest hit in town. I really hope I dont run into any issues with you guys. If I need to cancel, I need to cancel-- i would hope nobody tries to fight me on that?Anyways, the gym is pretty dirty but i just clean the machines for myself. i dont spend more than an hour here every other day anyway so i really dont spend much time here as much as i used too. The other gyms in the area appear better/more professional. But this gym is convenient for me. Until i have any issues or absolutely need to cancel, i dont see myself leaving anytime soon.

I just received the absolute worst customer service from the Dover location Club Fitness. Shelly, who claimed that she was the owner, was very unprofessional and called me a liar. My debit card was compromised and when I called to discuss it, I was told that my card would have been put on hold and not rejected. I informed them that I have a letter to the contrary and was told they did not have a fax to which to send the letter. Thankfully, the company that handled the account was not so rude. They accepted the letter, waived the late fee, and apologized for all the inconvenience that i experienced as a result of having my debit card compromised. Thank you ABC financial for your courteous service. Shelly, I believe you need more training and to stop claiming you are the owner. Shame on you. I cancelled my membership effective today. I was already a joint member at Planet Fitness and had no problem explaining the card breach to them either. they were very courteous. I will never again deal with Club Fitness Dover & Camden! I was willing to overlook the dirt and grime but not this.

EDIT: In response to the owner. I explicitly asked him what this charge was for and verbatim his response was, Its an active membership. He made no attempt to better explain the annual fee, otherwise I probably would have been a lot less upset. Furthermore, he did not explain that these changes had to be made by the billing department. I have worked in numerous retail and sales stores and the manager almost always has that kind of authority so that presumption was my fault, however, this easily could have been avoided had he explained how the billing process works at Club Fitness. Lastly, it was made known to me by a front desk employee while I was at this facility that the owner (you) were in your office while this was happening and that when he had walked away from the desk after I had informed him I would be posting this review, he had gone back to speak with you. If you were truly concerned about alleviating this problem you would have come out and explained this fee to me. Instead, after speaking with you, the manager came back out, said nothing to me, and then handed me back my card. I had to ask him if I was still being charged and if I was going to get a receipt and verification of some kind. He then told me it would be sent via email. I will remove the picture of him because this clearly was more an ownership problem than a management problem. As noted in my review below, I was only in town for the week to help my sick mother so I am unable to come in to an appointment with your billing department but I will place a call to them this week. Thanks.Every once in a while you come across an awesome local business that really cares about its members and its community and Club Fitness is NOT one of them. My mothers health has been very poor lately so I came home this week to help her around the house and as I was going through her finances I saw she was still signed up for Club Fitness despite not having been there for well over a year. I went in today to cancel her membership and they told me she had a $29 annual membership fee charge. I asked when this charge was posted and he said yesterday. I asked if there was anything he could to to help avoid paying the fee when I was canceling before the year really even began and he said because it was an active membership. Again, my mom hasnt been there in over a year (possibly more). I tried to explain that my mom wasnt well and had been in and out of the hospital and he had absolutely no sympathy. At this point, I asked to speak to a manager and he told me he was the general manager. I was completely flabbergasted. I understand an employee not being able to do something about this ludicrous fee but this man had the authority to waive a measly $30 fee and refused. That $30 means nothing to him but to my family it means less financial stress while were struggling to pay our medical bills. As I was leaving - after paying their stupid fee - he had the audacity to say he was sorry to hear about my mom and he hoped she would get better soon. Shame on him, and shame on this business. I am so sick and tired of businesses lacking empathy and compassion for their patrons because theyre too focused on the bottom line. I implore everyone to take their business elsewhere. Ive attached the managers picture because I want everyone to know this heartless mans face.

I was pretty content here until it came time to deal with management. That was a joke.. I was berated by a younger kid that stated he was the floor manager when it came time to cancel my membership. After being told my membership was cancelled, I was charged for another month. I went in and explained what happened and was told they charge for the next billing cycle. Fine whatever. The next month came and I was charged AGAIN. It took a 3rd trip to cancel an overpriced membership. The equipment was OK, but its OK if youre going to work out and thats IT. I wouldnt recommend coming here if youre looking to powerlift. I was repeatedly told by the fitness instructor (that I didnt get a membership for) how my father and I were lifting completely wrong. He wouldnt stop annoying us until my father informed him he used to be a power lifter and had multiple titles Nation wide. We just wanted to lift weights and be left alone. So we chose a different gym. Not recommended unless youre just looking for a gym to visit for an hour at a time.

But I just googled my questions besides that its great, always clean, spin class is amazing as are the instructors! Always machines open when I go. I love it.

Club Fitness is so much more than a gym. The staff are welcoming and do everything they can to properly assist you. They work hard to keep the gym tidy and make sure you have a great experience during every visit. The gym has so much to offer from group fitness classes like zumba, personal trainers, cardio cinema room, womens room, tanning beds, saunas, and a wide variety of equipment throughout the gym. If you are looking for a gym that puts in more effort than just saying hello and goodbye, CLUB FITNESS is definitely worth checking out. Stop by, ask for a tour and get to know the staff...you wont regret it!

I love it here. Its not where I started my fitness journey, but its where I am now.The amount of fitness equipment is great when you work out with a friend. Plenty of treadmills, ellipticals and all sorts of weight lifting benches.The staff is pretty friendly and the place is clean.The price for a 1st level membership is $9.99The price for a 2nd level membership is $19.99There is a higher membership also.I actually use the second level membership and if you feel like a late night workout or your work schedule is finicky like mine, you can still go when you want plus you can participate in all the spin and aerobics classes.Definitely worth it.

I cancelled my membership with them toward the end of the year. It wasnt anything they did wrong and its a nice enough gym, I just didnt want to keep making the trip when there are closer gyms located near me. Theres a wide variety of equipment and the gym itself is usually pretty clean. I havent had many interactions with the staff but they seem nice enough.I was told that January 18th was my final bill date and my membership was active until that day. I got a notice from my credit card stating that I was billed an annual fee for my cancelled membership, so I called the company that handles their membership billing thinking it was their mistake and was informed that my account had NOT been cancelled and my next bill date was the 18th of the following month. I was told that cancellations are handled at the store level, so I called them and spoke to a lady who told me that the employee who handled the cancellation did did not process or explain it correctly I asked if I would be receiving a refund for the fee and was told that I would not regardless of what the previous employee told me.Im not upset with the girl I spoke to on the phone. It wasnt her fault and it didnt sound like she had the power to make any decisions regarding cancellations anyway. Im not upset with the girl that handled the cancellation either, people make mistakes and thats okay!Im upset that had I not noticed the charge for an annual fee on a cancelled account I would have continue to have been billed for a service I cancelled IN PERSON and was assured that the process was complete. Its fine that a mistake occurred, but I shouldnt be the one taking ownership of it. I dont want the employee reprimanded for it because God knows Ive made mistakes at work too, I just want the company to step up and take responsibility for it as I would expect any other organization to do, but I dont think thats going to be the case.

Locker rooms were always filthy. Equipment always seemed to be out of order. Staff at the front desk never greeted you or responded when you greeted them. I want to cancel my membership asap but they cant even do that. Im in the Army, stationed in Fort Bliss, TX & in order for me to cancel my membership I must come into the Camden, DE location to cancel.... The unprofessionalism of this organization is astounding but I guess thats what you get when you employ children.

I was a member for awhile, went to a few spin classes most of the instructors were great especially Bonnie but some where rude and didnt ask if anyone if they were new to spinning. People were rude at some of the classes if you used the bike that they normally used they would give you attitude and would make smart remarks which was uncomfortable. Machines were always broke. No one ever asked if you needed any help. When they have new things they dont communicate that to there customers so you dont know whats going on.

If you want to go to the gym here just know that you cannot workout with your friends because they take pictures of you without permission and accuse you of training someone all thanks to the new trainer Doug they hired. So for that I will be cancelling my membership and take my business to Plant Fitness. Plus the other friends I brought there. So in all you will lose 4 accounts.!!

My daughter and boyfriend went in to cancel their membership. They were told that they had to pay a $30 annual fee or else they could not cancel membership. I called this morning asked to speak with a supervisor and a Brittney got on the line. Her customer service skills were horrible. I asked to speak with HER supervisor because clearly we were getting no where and she stated there was no one else to talk to, nobody above her....I was told by this Brittney that there was no way to waive this fee which is interesting considering her boyfriends sister had the fee waived the day prior. So now i have looked online at the reviews and on the BBC website ..... F rating btw.....I have located the name and email of the GM so after this review I will be emailing him as well as filing a complaint with the BBC myself.

Spent 2 years here and this was the worst gym Ive ever worked out at and Im so glad I left. I tell everyone I know that works out about how bad this gym is and my experiences here. First off this gym rips people off with their varying membership fees and add on fees. I was paying almost twice as much as everyone else when I worked out here and would have never known had I heard someone else talking about how much they pay a month here. On top of that is the lack of cleanliness in this place. Its dirty and the machines rarely get cleaned by anyone so unless you clean it yourself somehow youre just laying or sitting in the last persons filth. Their gym equipment when it breaks stays broken indefinitely. Seems like the only time they fix or address stuff is when they feel like it or when they do a so called make over every 3-4 years. The staff can also learn a thing or two about how customer service. At the time I tolerated working out as this place one of the personal trainers got an attitude with me because I was making noise while lifting weights on their smith machine (their raggedy smith machine was always noisy as it shook a lot when you used it). Apparently this guy thought it was a bright idea to train his client at the peak time of the day in an already noisy area of the gym next to their noisy smith machine. Its not fault they dont maintain their equipment here so why yell at me about it? On top of that they have a training area for 1 on 1 sessions for personal trainers so why bring your client out onto the floor when 20 people are working out around you? So glad I left this place. Between the greedy owners, broken equipment, uncleanliness and annoying staff I couldnt be more happier NOT working out in a place like this.

Camden location advised that I would only need to pay 19.99 to upgrade from the basic membership. I went to the Dover location and they said that I would have to pay the sign up fee and 19.99 around $45.00. Can the owner contact me and explain the policy? Why would you have to pay a sign up fee if youre already a part of Club Fitness.

So many machines, special fitness rooms, classes, and great staff. The only downside is the state of the facility. Dont get me wrong, it isnt terrible. They are starting to replace machines. But the locker rooms need upgraded, and so does the flooring in the facility. Also, they have only two water fountains per level, and NO WATER BOTTLE FILLING STATION. This, to me, is such a let down. Because who likes waiting in line for people to fill up their water bottles at the only water fountain around....

The gym itself is alright,Generally a few pieces of equipment is broken every time we go, I had owed 2 months of payment so with the late fees it was about $60 the corporate called and had requested the owed money. I had no problem paying it so I give them my new card info and it was paid. I check my bank activity and they charged me twice and another extra $20 I called back and told me it was another late fee for the $20 which it would of been nice to tell me the 1st time we spoke. Then wanted to get off the subject of the fact they charged me twice by telling me they dont see what I was talking about I kept complying with them on the subject and finally with the help of the supervisor they see it so my year is up in February I will not be joining for another year. I will pay the annual yearly fee and hope they dont give me the trouble I seen on here with leaving.

I only go there to run, but atmosphere is cool, not too crowded so I never have to wait for a treadmill, staff is pretty cool and theyve got a good selection of nutrition shakes. They have tanning beds, if your into that, and they have personal trainers and a room for crossfit workouts.

Club Fitness has NO real cancellation policy. I have called and asked how to cancel and the rep to me to either come in to cancel or write a letter. I came in on a Saturday and was told I have to come through the week. So I opted to write a letter instead since I have no time during the week. I sent in the letter to cancel my membership and my husbands in November 2014 and they are still contacting me monthly for a payment for the membership. They will not give you accurate information on how to cancel your membership and will continue to try to find loop holes in how you attempt to cancel. The membership is good if you actually go, however, for those whos lives change and dont have the time to go.....youll be wasting your money for a membership you cant cancel.To cancel theyll tell you that you have to come in or write a letter stating you want it canceled. Heres the kicker (the good stuff they leave out)....you have to come in Monday - Friday between the hours of 9-4 and a manager has to be present to cancel the membership. Well, I guess that cuts out all of the working humans who have a day job 9-5. Also, when you write a letter, it has to be certified....otherwise, theyll pretend they never received it...yeah, they lack to inform you to certify the letter on purpose.Ive called them several times, had the funds disputed with my bank and they are still trying to get me to pay for something I DONT USE! I talked to someone today, who clearly didnt want to help resolve the issue, say well just take it to collections. I like the way these people think this is funny and like to waste people time and energy for something they could simply cancel and stop playing.This company has very terrible customer service and lack any business ethics! Dont do it unless you are really going to get your moneys worth because trying to cancel a membership with them is pretty much impossible.By the way, BBB has rated them with a big fat F! I definitely sent in a complaint against this company since theyre so much of a headache. They can continue to try to charge my expired card....after my experience with them I definitely changed my card number because I felt they would try to play me with my cancellation. The Gym is disgustingly dirty. Shower rooms you will catch something. They will rob you of your money. I canceled and canceled and canceled they still took my money and charged me the yearly fee and wouldnt reverse any charges. You will never get a manager on the phone and if by chance you do they are never helpful. I would never get a membership here again. Go to one of the smaller gyms they are much more personable and clean its worth the extra money.

I had no choice but to call and cancel over the phone because you know canceling my gym membership was the last thing on my mind prior to deployment. Its lovely to receive a phone call knowing that they have withdrawn payments and charged me $720. They cannot cancel over the phone regardless if you get deployed because they have no instruction in place for active-duty members that have memberships. Highly dissatisfied with this company!

Love club fitness. Been going for months; great price and not busy.Ive read some feedback. There are two locations, the small gym by Ollies and the bigger one by Save a Lot. Dont get it twisted.Small one never crowded, no wait for free weights. Cool mixed crowd and lay down tan beds.The big gym I avoid, I dont like crowds or weighting(haha) for equipment.Staff at small gym cordial enough(its a gym) and helpful.IDK what people want for $10-$30 a month.Small gym has spin classes, yoga and plenty of equipment.*Dont crowd small gym now, its great the way it is.

I have been a customer for a few years, but for the past year or maybe a Lil more I have been inactive and havent been to the gym, so I went like a few months back and froze my account not cancel it froze it because I know I was coming back, so I went today they told me I have to pay 59.97 SMH thats a lot of money, but because I really want to come back I said OK Ill pay it, but when I went to pay it he said hold up is like 80 dollars I said uhhhh can you help me out please, but I dont know what happened after that he said red flag came up that my membership have been cancel and I cant go in the gym till I speak to a manager so I gave him. My phone number he said a manager will be contacting me, I thought they were going to call me today but no Nada, I really want to get back in there I need to get back in there so please any help

Used to be a nice gym a few years ago, but now its dirty, disgusting and ghetto. Layer of dust and grime in areas. Some lockers look like they were broken into and disgusting inside. Parking lot area has a lot of broken glass and doesnt seem safe.

As most of my friends are aware. Ive been through hell and back over the past couple years. Close to bankruptcy as I lost my wife, family and freedom. As I regain control of my life I reach out to vendors and businesses to restructure and/or cancel contracts. Most local businesses were very accommodating. Unfortunately this wasnt the case with Club Fitness. Apparently I called 6 days short of the contract stated 30 day cancellation. No concern for the individual or community as they may want you to think. With that said if you are concidering a gym membership I would recommend using a gym who truely values its community and understands life implications..
