Ishma Best is aptly named. He was incredibly responsive, supportive, helpful, creative at problem-solving, and knowledgeable throughout the entire homebuying process, which I want to put out there, is not for the faint of heart. As a first time homebuyer I had tons of questions and Ishma was super patient and committed to making sure I really understood the process, my options, and next steps on the horizon. I would have been completely lost without him. His team was professional and on point the whole way through. It means a lot to me that he also lives in Detroit, and is obviously committed to and invested in the city. He was just as excited as I was to meet neighbors and get a feel for each home that we looked at. I know he comes across as nice and well spoken, but this person has zero ethics. Actually encourages his clients to lie on the sellers disclosure, all about trying to sell you junk that he paints lipstick on without any consciousness. Only out for his personal interest at the cost of all others. Does not understand the contract. Actually tried to say that the “seller does not have to maintain the property from the time of agreement to closing.” Our first day in the house it started raining water in the kitchen, and the hvac had no chance of actually starting up. When I asked him what was going on he said to leave him alone because he was having dinner. Upon investigation, these scoundrels actually put a can under the drain behind the trap so that you couldn’t see the leaks when you turned the water on. I will not work with this person again. Can I give him a negative 5 stars?
