Cant say enough, this place was fantastic. Super clean, had all the aminites we needed. About 15 yards from the beach if that. I highly recommend this place, definitely will come back.

Dirty, moldy and no supplies for garbage, paper towels, toilet paper. Decks were not able to be enjoyed. Workers present. During the stay. Coffee left in filter. Just not a good experience. Mold is excessive.

Southbay by the Gulf is a nice condo community. The grounds are well kept. There are two pools and a tennis court for guests to use. There is also beach access. The unit we stayed in was on the lake.

Looks can be deceiving! Recently displaced due to Hurricane Ida we booked Unit 122 with Lynda Tanner ~ NEVER EVER AGAIN. Not only was the condo filthy and roach infested, Lynda was rude and unprofessional. She could not understand why I was disgusted with the roaches on speed as she called them bc surely have roaches where I live. Then she accused me of obviously having somewhere else to stay and stated how the condo was much better than the devastation that I left from the storm (as if that mattered). Once I refused to stay, she barged into my friends condo without their consent or acknowledgment (which was pristine by the way) looking for me bc I obviously was scamming her and was going to stay with them. I left with no reservations to stay anywhere that night. It was a disheartening experience.Dont fall for the pretty pictures of this trashy resort especially if Lynda Tanner is the renter. She has no class and very low standards.

South Bay is on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The units are all townhomes. Most are not directly on the water but just steps away. The beach is much less crowded than the beach in front of the condos.

We had the best family getaway here. Unit 57 was perfect for our little family.. A great mix of privacy yet Plenty to do around Destin. A huge perk was that we were able to take our pup boating for the day at Gilligans Boat Rentals.

Very nice place to stay! 1st week of March we were in unit 57 which was just a short walk from the beach or a heated pool. Even on the cooler days the kids had lots of fun playing in the pool. Definitely hope to be back!! Dont let some cool temps scare you out the Destin sun feels wonderful at 60 degrees! 😎

Nice vacation spot in Florida, our 1st day. It was a bit cloudy and windy. Still we enjoyed the beach and a bit of time around town. Nice dinner, movie and rest to continue tomorrow.

I rented southbay by the gulf unit 129The unit is outdated with dirty carpeting!The unit’s king mattress was old and very uncomfortable! The unit had large cockroaches in the master bedroom. I would never recommend this unit!

Beautiful places stay at always have a wonderful time

We have fallen in love with DESTIN, FL. We have stayed at South bay by the Gulf all 3 times and are looking forward to our next trip. The condos are comfortable, great WIFI, close to the beach and our unit had the pool out our back patio door. So much to do from the beach on to Dolphin/Shelling boat trips, Gulf fishing, go carting and the food will make for a special trip!

Nice little VRBO.

We stayed in unit 132 and it was wonderful. When you drive in you can tell the units are older on the outside but 132 is on the beach with amazing views. The minute we walked in we were satisfied. This unit was redone in 2016, very tastefully I might add. The inside was done in neutral tones and all stainless appliances. We had a problem with one of TVs and maintenance was there within 20 minutes. We had 8 staying and were very comfortable. The main level deck is very large with seating for 12. The master deck views cant be beat. We bought groceries and found everything we needed at the house. You are also close to everything with lots to do. Would definitely stay here again for our family vacation.

Just what was advertised. Beautiful condo. Handled the entire family comfortably. Reasonable walk to a beautiful beach. Very accommodating host. Very reasonable cost to sleep 9.If we ever come back with the entire family, this will be the place to stay.

Beautiful beaches and swimming depth is perfect for kids and drunken adults. Within walking distance of pizza, ice cream, and breakfast.

We loved it. Clean area, completely family friendly, and both pools had an accompanying kiddie pool that my big and little kids loved. We loved the turtles in the lagoon and ate quite a few meals on the outdoor decks.

Absolutely the most beautiful relaxing place Ive ever been. People there are so generous like youve know them all youre life!

We vacationed at South Bay By the Gulf and had a wonderful time. The room was clean and VERY nice! Its a place that we would definitely recommend to others! Great places to eat, shop or just to relax!

Love it great place to visit

Its a very nice peaceful place. Youre in walking distance from the beach. Depending on what townhome you rent out, it can be old or have updated renovations in it. I was lucky and got one of the town homes that was renovated. If youre looking for affordable place to stay near the beach I recommend them.

Location is right by the beach access. Rooms have everything we needed. Two queen size beds and two bunk beds. Plenty of room for 6 people.

First time coming here with my family, absolutely amazing, definitely coming back. Must see.

Southbay is a really neat little complex. Townhouse style condos that are older but well kept. There are two pools, easy, private beach access, and a lake that the condos overlook. Ill be back.

Very easy access to the beach on a short walk. Extremely nice beach. Secure. Nice neighbors. Quiet and safe.

The units at Southbay were nice with convenience access to the beach, would definitely recommend!My main gripe is with the overly aggressive beach chair attendants. They form an unyielding solid line of beach chairs and umbrellas along the high water line with almost no space in between to pass through. Each unit apparently has two chairs and an umbrella reserved which can be used for $37 per day. Not ideal for a group of more than two and far less than ideal for a group who came prepared with their own gear trying to have a somewhat economical vacation. Dont bother asking the attendants to move any of the chairs, they wont. If youre ok with a view of a hundred or so empty chairs instead of water, this location is for you!Also, as a heads up I recommend researching how the Emerald Cost got its name, as well as June grass before you book your trip.

Everyone we meet was very friendly and fun.

Nice complex that is right on the beach (no streets to cross), with two pools, a large stocked pond, and tennis courts. The south end of the complex (aka beach side) is far away from highway 98 yet you are still in Destin and close to many great restaurants night spots.

Our condo was perfect! It had everything we needed and the owner followed up to make sure things were satisfactory!
