Beautiful facility, the blue decor in our 3 bedroom was cold for Florida, the view was fantastic, but there is no beach. Vista Grande Grill gave excellent room service with exceptional food! Parking was easy. We had a nice stay. Fyi...Avoid Wyndham Timeshare!!!
It reminds me of my job with the airlines. The staff was awesome from greeting us, very friendly, helpful and Spa is awesome. We have been staying here for the last 9 years. We have seen the decline.Everything 9 years ago was Resort quality. The rooms use to feel top quality.Just like an airline the condo owners or management has allowed a decline and I’m sure cost is involved. So sad to see such a beautiful place not care about how it’s Condos are being maintained.I blame the owners because if I’m getting these high prices and can’t even offer a room with everything working and updated then charge low prices, not resort prices. We had to go buy our own cookware because there wasn’t even a large flying pan.So sad to see such a Beautiful place not live up to the high standards it use to have.August 2021.
We held our wedding at the Emerald Grande on 6/5/2021 and had a wonderful time along with our guests. The staff at the Emerald Grande could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Our guests had a fabulous time and we were greeted with smiles from each staff member throughout our entire stay. The location was perfect and we cant wait to visit this resort again and make more wonderful memories!
Great staff, location and things to do. Liked our room, two bedroom and two bath with bunk room. Anytime we needed anything, the staff was quickly responsive. Would have given five stars of they had hot water for the whole week. We had about four days that we couldnt get hot water. Staff said the boiler kept breaking down and they were trying to fix. For that, I would have expected a bit of a refund on our stay, but they did not even offer. Therefore the three stars are justified.
Nice Hotel, bar and restaurant. The rentals, however, need to be scrutinized by hotel management or some assigned person on the premises. Our 3 bedroom condo had a broken sofa bed. No stopper for kitchen sink. The dryer took 3 hours to dry towels. The hotel staff doesnt supply towels or anything for the rentals, thus, if you need something, more than likely you wont get it. It may be more comforting to book a hotel room instead of renting a condo.
This place was great. The bar and room service were delicious. My kids loved the pool. The views from our private balcony were something I will remember for the rest of my life. I slept so well on their beds. I felt more than at home. The beach shuttle was also good. Everything about this more than blew my mind. Best vacation ever.
Location views are great, you are within walking distance of numerous places to eat, so you don’t need to drive anywhere once you get there. Numerous activities on the boardwalk to keep you busyService-bar tenders and wait staff were fantastic, housekeeping responsive to our needs for room issues. The food served at Emerald Grande was decent.Room/accommodations-could not check in on time because our room had a leak. I noticed many leaks throughout our stay. Several buckets throughout the place to catch water. The room they placed us ended up being fine. There are not enough elevators, and when we were there one elevator was broke down for 4 days. Sometimes we waited for 20 minutes on an elevator. Pool was dirty, bandages and paper products were everywhere in the pool. Mold was all over the top of the hot tub. It should be noted that it appears people also live here and they have dogs. The dogs poop and pee all over the sun deck near the pool. You either have to drive to a beach or catch the boat (free) from Emerald Grande to the beach. We stayed there June of 2021, I’m not sure I would stay there again.
3 days in on my 7 day stay and I’m certain this place is 5⭐️! Upon entering the lobby is beautiful, The staff are friendly, and The harbor views are Breathtaking! The private beach+ferry and location are nice and clean. The only downside is our government is still handing out money to people who need to be working! Staff said 6 out of normally an 18-20 showed for work yesterday to help run the beach shuttle and oversee the private beach setting up chairs and umbrellas. So sad! But no thanks to Joe everything went smoothly with a little patience. 👏🏻🌊☀️💗🏖
This hotel is very beautiful on the outside and the views are gorgeous. I always wanted to stay here, so I finally did. It was not what I expected. The elevators are super slow and finding your room is rather confusing. It took 3 different elevators and a few phone calls to the front desk just to get to my room. I’ve never had an issue like that. It’s not nearly as nice on the inside as it is on the outside. The room was huge and spacious, but nothing special. I’d save the $500 per night and stay elsewhere.
We travelled 12 hours through the night to get here. We called down around 10pm after getting unpacked, groceries unloaded & settled in to ask for 4 more pillows. We have 6 family members with varying needs & we brought our pillows from home, but the kids couldn’t get comfortable, we couldn’t get comfortable. We were told they do not give any extra pillows. We’ve been Wyndham owners for over 15 years & have never once been told that a hotel cannot provide extra pillows, blankets, or anything else needed during the stay for that matter. Lucille, the night shift manager stated she worked for emerald not Wyndham & could not provide pillows. From the other reviews we can definitely see a trend—the staff doesn’t actually care about their guests.Very poor customer service. We are supposed to be here 7 days. Hopefully we will have a better experience tomorrow.
This place is AWESOME!! The rooms are so nice, sleeps so many, and having a full kitchen is amazing! The one and only downside is that the shuttle to the private beach doesn’t take people to the beach after 5 and the last shuttle coming back is at 5:45.
OK but not Wyndhams best resort. Some of the resort was closed for repair. Not a good situation in peak tourist season.I think our 3 bedroom suite was a 2 bedroom suite scrunched down to squeeze a shall kids 3rd bedroom. A few items didnt work and we could only have one trash bag.The elevator arrangement is quite confusing. Some elevators dont go to all floors and theres no map that shows which elevator goes to which floor and where the elevators are located.Still, we were in the GV section with excellent location to the pools (both only waist deep).Id go there again but with lowered expectations.
We arrived a few hours ago and checked into our room. The smell of curry 🍛 was overwhelming. We spoke the the front desk and they put in a work order to have an odor bomb dropped in the room. The Maintanace representative showed up (and recognized the smell immediately) promptly and sprayed a bottle of baby powder scent in the room which only made the smells compete. We visited the front desk again and a manager was nice enough to speak to us. She said there was nothing she could do, but acknowledged the people staying in the room earlier left a distinguished smell and they were hard to get to leave the room and gave us a bottle of one shot after fire odor control to spray in the room. We have 3 kids under 4 staying with us so this is not an option. We are stuck, after paying for the room, with no sanitary place to stay and no other vacancies at other resorts. This instance is unprofessional, unsanitary and just not fair to our kids who have looked forward to this vacation for months.NICE WORK! Hope you are happy with your decisions today.
Our Penthouse level room on the top floor (13th), had a great view from the balcony. We were in the east tower right on Harbour Walk. Lots of shops and restaurants but quite a bit of traffic noise. Great restaurant in hotel.
To be honest, the parking was a big factor in this rating. The parking spaces were so close to each other with concrete columns sitting right on the line; which made it even more difficult. There were times that we had to crawl out the opposite side of the car to get out because you couldnt open your door. If youre lucky enough to get. Spot out front, then take it.Outside of that, the staff was wonderful. The bellhop named Jamed was friendly and very informative when we needed help. The beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and spacious. Scenery from thr sunset deck is absolutely breathtaking 😍
For as big and fancy as this place appears to be on the outside, I really expected better. We got a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, corner room. It is roomy and every room has its own bathroom which is nice but everything has a very run down feel. The carpets were old and coming apart where they met the tile, there was chipped paint everywhere, and some of the doors didnt want to open or close very well. There were lights that didnt have switches, the tile had sticky spots, the carpet had wet spots, and there were fruit flies in the kitchen. On our second day there the refrigerator motor went berserk and super heated our food in the fridge over night (the freezer side was fine) we had to throw out over $200 worth of food. The hotel said it was our fault for not making sure the door was closed all the way, even though IF that were the case, the fridge would have been room temperature and the maintenance guy that came used a temperature gun and it said it was 86 degrees in the fridge.
The Emerald Grand owes me nothing. It made my vacation a breeze. I didnt even have to move my car the whole time I was there. The bellman was super helpful. I loved the private beach and the guys on the shuttle boats were cool. My room was super clean and comfortable. Being able to walk to everything was very convenient. I look forward to visiting again.
Cons : Beginning to show age. Several maintenance issues in unit. Elevators can be confusing, at first. Parking can sometimes be an issue.Pros: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATIONStaff is friendly & accommodating, for the most park. ( had a member of housekeeping act very aggravated when asked for toilet paper) She must of been having a bad day. We all have them sometimes.McGuires Irish Pub is directly across the street. It is quite the experience. Food is good too. Be prepared to wait in line to get in.The boat shuttle to the Emerald Grand private beach is a must. Pack plenty of sunscreen, mask & snorkels, frisbee, some cash to tip with & drinks/ snacks. They furnish clean towels. The beach is AMAZING most every day. Crystal clear & emerald colored. It doesnt get any better.Boat shuttle runs every 30 / 40 minutes until 5:30.You will definitely enjoy your stay at the Emerald Grande. Many more pros than cons. Hopefully they will be working on their maintenance issues & bring things back up to the grand standard that is exemplified by their location & many years of service to visitors from all over the world. I feel sure that 2020 hit them just as hard as it did other businesses.
One of the best places the room was very nice and my bedroom was right by the window and the view was beautiful also the harbor village has really fun I loved the zip lining and the pool was awesome and the hot tub was nice and warm can’t wait to come back.
Walking into the lobby the lady at the desk was nice and polite. Our room were as pictured. Views as pictured. Only a couple of things was not satisfying…the toilet in master bathroom didn’t flush and spots or stains on sheets in 2nd bedroom. I called house keeping and we got clean sheets sent to our room. The toilet we just used the 2nd bathroom. Overall our stay was great everything in walking distance…we loved that!!! The food at the emerald was delicious! They don’t skimp on potions! I will vacay there again!
Private beach, Happy Hour every day, balconies overlooking the Gulf or Bay, spacious rooms-who could ask for anything more?
Andrew the Bell-hop is great guy with useful tips on where to eat and such. Tip him well and take his advice. Gals up front were friendly, and quick. Two traits I love in workers! We had a good visit and hope to return. Theyre doing construction around the pool area which the family didnt like but Im a contractor and I know there is no magic wand that can be waved to make sh!+ fix itself. The construction crew had a spotless jobsite and noise was as minimal as they could keep it.
This is a very beautiful place we celebrate my Mothers 90 birthday party here on August 20-23,21 if the Good Lord says the same we will be back next year
Nice and clean. Close to everything
Exceptional staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The private beach is beautiful and perfect for children with calm water in the cove. Our couples massage was so heavenly! We enjoyed lavender mimosas on the couples veranda. Also, avocado toast. Must have! The gym is great!!! Much more than the standard hotel fitness facility. The location is perfect for waking to dinner and getting to the airport easily.I highly recommend the Emerald Grande!!!!
Great resort with a lot of amenities. The only issues are only 2 elevators per wing of the resort and they are updating some areas so there is construction in areas where you would have an easier access to the boardwalk.
Recently stayed for our vacation in Destin and had a great time! Our unit was booked through Club Wyndham and had no issues checking in. The only drawback was that upon checking in, we were told by the front desk staff that our complimentary breakfast vouchers could not be given to us for the stay, despite being a CW Founders VIP owner. We then spoke with the Wyndham guest representative and she also explained that they had reached their limit and ran out of available vouchers. We were guided to speak with Amy, who is over the program at the property and discussed the inconvenience with her. She said that she would do some research and get back with us, however she never did. A little disappointing that accommodations could not be made for this. Last year, we had no issues. Despite the voucher situation, it didnt spoil our fun. Our unit was clean and comfortable, but did have a lingering food smell that seemed to dissipate after a few days. Great views of Crab Island and the 98 bridge/McGuires, etc. We love staying here because of the location, amazing sunsets, and walking distance to many restaurants, the HarbourWalk, etc. Cant wait to return next year!
OK, so we have stayed at the Emerald Grande several times in the past. I hate leaving a negative review, but really feel the need to inform those on the fence about paying the crazy rates here. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are large, but in serious need of updating. The pool area is generally nice, but on this trip, was under construction, so we woke up to jack hammers while trying to enjoy the view on the balcony with coffee. The elevators from the pool to Harbor Walk Village are also closed due to construction. This means to get down to the restaurants and boat for the beach service, you have to go to the lobby, into the parking garage, play chicken with traffic while dragging your beach paraphernalia, take another elevator (which there was usually only 1 working so it took FOREVER). I just want to point out that we had 2 actual days here with the 3 night stay. It was almost $2000.00, and very freaking stressful. I thought it would be worth it for a Mothers Day treat to myself to avoid the traffic, but it really wasnt. The foot traffic through the harbor area was so crazy we actually drove to the other side of Destin to eat dinner. We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Jamaica for a week last year for $3500.00, I will never stay at the Emerald Grande again unfortunately:(
Considering check in was at 4PM and we didnt get into our condo until 8:15PM.We sat in the lobby from 4:15PM until we got to speak to Guest Services Manager Keri which was around 7:000M. I would give it a ZERO. Oh yeah it was our 39th Wedding Anniversary. Will NOT EVER recommend this place. There was 2 other couples that spoke to her before us having challenges as well.Needless to say we made the best out of it.
Very disappointing. Elevators are very slow and takes up to 3 different elevators to get from room to the ground level. Don’t let the pictures deceive you, there is no beach that you can get to without driving or taking a boat that shuttles about every 30 minutes from 9-5 only. Remember the elevator situation? Yeah, leave your room about 30 minutes early to even get to the dock to get a ticket to be able to get your entire party on the shuttle boat to the beach. “Secluded beach” is packed with all the other emerald grande guests that have no access to any other beach. It is also on the bayside so no waves.Room is fine so I guess this place is good for someone without kids and not wanting to spend much time on the beach. Boardwalk is decent but crowded with everyone from around town as well as guests.
Very pleased with our unit that appeared to have been updated not long ago. It was especially nice to have three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Very comfortable room. 3 bed rooms gave us all the space we needed for 6 people and my baby. Only thing the unit needs is just an update. Kind of feels a little out of date but other than that it was great. Perfect location with plenty of things to do and so many choices of food to eat. Overall was such a relaxing vacation and would love to look into staying at a similar resort in the future.
Wonderful place overall but very discouraged. I left some items in the dresser in the master. Called about having them returned to me and they cant be located by housekeeping. I know its my fault they were left but would hope people would be honest and put in lost and found.
Wonderful place to visit, much to do all within walking distance. Great food joints
Dont waste your money at the hotel. This is not up to par to be called a resort. Had better rooms at a motel 6. Rooms were dirty. Sheets looked like they had not been changed. Didnt even sleep on them. Broken things everywhere. Not a single thing was addressed and I called or when to the front desk every day. Staff was ok but not responsive to issues
Was in 402 E and had an amazing time the only recommendation I was have is to have the option to get side by side rooms with friends staying the same week. We had friends on the 12th floor on west wing. We plan on coming again so ill be asking about that next time.
While the rooms are very clean, once you walk out of your room, the disappointment starts: multiple entrance/exit points with unclean surfaces and numerous instances of trash on the ground, hot elevators and elevator lobbies, staff members more concerned about getting tips than taking a couple of extra minutes to help a guest. The beach is a joke: expect old, worn chairs covered in sand, and trash on the ground (I was told thats the City of Destins responsibility, but picking up a board with rusty screws 6 inches from one of their chairs seems like common decency), and other boats parking so there is a very limited beach to enjoy.Wont be returning to this joke of a resort.Edit: I forgot to mention the off-site parking for large vehicles that dont fit in the main parking lot. First, its 6/10ths of a mile away, which doesnt seem like a lot, but its definitely too far to walk back to your vehicle because you forgot something. Second, the lot looks like a tow truck company yard, with a bunch of abandoned boat trailers. I took pictures, because I was afraid I would come back and find my vehicle was stolen. Finally, the lot is small, with no parking spots. It would be very easy for someone to park me in, so I couldnt get my vehicle out.
Cheap cologne as you walk through the entrance. Zero hot water the entire stay, sometimes luke warm, sometimes NO WATER at all! WiFi is horrific. If you want screaming and yelling till 4:30 am with canons busting off and 4 hour waits for dinner service this is your place!!
We stayed here with after family members bought a condo here. It was so nice having so many amenities right at your fingertips as well as activities and lots of great eats within walking distance. Plus, Harborwalk was fun to stroll, shop, and peoplewatch.
Great location. Hotel is a little outdated and the elevator situation is a confusing nightmare. Overall, great spot in the middle of everything on the harborwalk. Housekeeping is still on vacation. Our suite couldve used some attention after a day or two. We paid a lot of money to have to be cleaning up ourselves.
We booked vacation to stay here through Airbnb and when we arrived they had no reservation on file for us an no where for us to stay. I understand this to be an owners suite in their hotel but it is a scam made possible by the Hotel allowing them to operate that way.
We dont go on vacations much, we will start now! If you want an unforgettable experience, stay here. Spacious rooms, beautiful view from the balcony, harbor walk is literally on campus and the beaches- oh my word! My nephew proposed to his girlfriend on The Henderson State park beach and wants to marry her in Destin! We will be back!
This is a luxury resort. There are only 3 bedroom units . If you are a Wyndham owner book as soon as possible WHEN they become available. I have never been able to get them for half price points. It is however a very nice place for families to stay and right next to Harbor Walk.
This is a great place to stay. You have a short walk to tons of things to do. The rooms are great but cost a lot. Worth every penny.
Amazing hotel! Nice service and great outdoor pool!
I feel sorry for the next person who stays in unit 730. Our party was bitten up by bed bugs in that unit. We brought it to the hotels attention and they refused to move us as the hotel was full. They had their “professionals” come to check our room and they determined there were not any bedbugs, even though I found one and killed it and showed them the carcass. I am a RN and I know a bedbug and bedbug bite when I see it. They bite in a linear pattern along a vein. The hotel director, Debbie said they would not be treating that room for bedbugs before the next guests arrived. Also, the hotel has not been maintained. The carpet is terribly dirty and needs to be replaced. There were several stains on the carpet on my bedroom.
I loved being so close to the harbor walk but the hotel was dirty and the pool looked like it was being repaired for years we loved the location but I didnt like the dirtyness of it
Beautiful me and my husband was invited to go with my daughter in law and son the view and the house was fantastic. Will definitely love to come back
Great place to stay & has lots of amenities on site. Very clean. Needs a gym, though.
Beautiful attractive scene I love this hotel theyre very nice and friendly everyone accommodate me well
Terrible room. They did a switch and bait. They showed a wonderful room and we payed 1000$ for a night and they have a lame room with a view of the parking lot. The pictures showed a view of the ocean. This is a terrible resort . Never stay here
Nice place good customer service strictly condo ownership
LOVED it BEAUTIFUL ROOM AND VIEW!! Lots of things to do
Had a fantastic stay...beautiful rooms, beautiful view... very satisfied with our accommodations and look forward to one day visiting there again...
I absolutely love these condos. We have been 3x now. Just left Spring break 2021 & nothing but satisfied. I guess being able to walk to all attractions is a plus. Margaritaville has it all.
In my 45 years in this world and after having traveled the country and the world, I have to say this was hands down the WORST vacation experience Ive ever had. After traveling almost 7.hours by car, we arrived to check-in and were told they couldnt locate our reservation & we were 2 days early. After about an hour and half, they finally located our reservation which was placed under a different name by the VRBO sellers we rented from. The front desk clerk and Manager both stated they knew these guys and had dealt with them before, indicating the Wyndhams implicit knowledge of the fraud being perpetrated at their premises by these individuals. After finally locating our reservation under a different name we were told we would have to change rooms 2 days later. We rented a 3BR, 3BA unit on a high floor. Thats the room we got on Tuesday to Thursday morning. Then we had to pack up our luggage and our kitchen by 10am on Thursday morning and were displaced for 5-6 hours waiting for our new room to be ready. The Wyndham staff didnt see any need to expedite the cleankng of our new room so we wouldnt be displaced, they didnt offer us lunch to accommodate displacing us, just a bunch of empty Im sorrys with no action to back it up. We ultimately were moved to a new tower on the ground floor pool level, essentially to the family with small yelling children tower. AND our room. Which was prepaid was downgraded from a 3Br, 3BA to a 2 BR, 2BA and a literal closet with a bunk bed with mattresses meant for 3-5 year olds for two teenage girls to sleep on. Again, the Wyndham refused to accommodate us. Refused to acknowledge their part in the fraud committed against us and acknolwedged the price gouging these individuals also perpetrated on us. The first room nor ally goes for $657 a night, the downsized room goes for $250-280 a night. We paid $975 a night. The Wyndham and VRBO refuse to rectify this horrific situation. And while there we heard countless complaints from other guests including 2 hour waits at the Emerald Grandes restaurant for breakfast only to be told they sold out of all breakfast meat products. Then Memorial Day weekend the ferry broke down and the massive resort only had a 6 person pontoon to transport hundreds of guests to the beach. SAVE YOURSELVES AND YOUR FAMILY THE WORST VACATION OF YOUR LIVES AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT AT ALL COSTS. Worst experience of our loves, worst customer service of our lives. This place is a literal joke.
Beautiful place and well taken care of
The staff here is so nice! Great place to stay and walking distance to shops at the harbor
I just seen a tik tok that showed a ton of roaches crawling all over there room. We almost made a reservation here. Thank god we did not
Beautiful, great views. Fantastic service, excellent food.Close to everything!
Staff was friendly and room was clean, thats about all that was good. Pool is WAY too small for this large of a resort. Shuttle boat takes you to a private beach but its not really in the ocean, its a cove area with zero waves. But the worst part is the noise. The street noise is bad but we could deal with that but the bar across the parking lot plays ridiculously loud music until 4 AM EVERY NIGHT so our entire family was up all night! Which made cranky kids and adults during the day. We ended up leaving a day early just to get some sleep. Huge disappointment
Pros: Nice suite; good sized kitchen; great private beach for hotel guests; lots of stuff nearbyCons: LOUD Construction started promptly at 8AM; Elevators were not working; One roll of TP per bathroom allowed for a 3/2 bedroom condo for 5 days; blaring music allowed by the pool - three different groups turned it up; jerks taking up big chunks of the pool space to play catch so we couldnt get in between without getting hit; Vomit next to our car in the parking lot; drunks by the pool at 3AM screaming; spotty bar service because people didnt show up for work; no masks (but there was a Trump store); pool was basically a war from the Hunger Games.
Room was spacious and comfortable. However, found some items left behind from the last guests. Was super disappointed after driving 7 hours pulling a boat that our room wasnt ready at check in time 4p. They took our number and said they would call when it was ready. Two hours last we never received a call and went back to check and they said it was ready then. May or may not be back.
Beautiful hotel. Very busy. Parking can be a puzzle.
Being rated so highly I came with HIGH HOPES. The e in GRANDE must be added to look fancy. Room was adequate. Nothing special. Showers are probably the best part. If anything breaks or goes wrong....GOOD LUCK. Our coffee pot smelled like it was going to erupt into flames...it took 5 calls to the front desk to get a replacement. The clothes dryer does nothing but make noise. 2 calls and someone came and said oh its okay. So we called again. Someone new came. Said he was checking it our or replacing the unit...well apparently that means making sure it still makes noise and doesnt dry. Finally, indoor and outdoor HEATED pools. Heated must start at 50degrres because both pools HAD to be 61 degrees. Nice. I asked to speak to a manager and was refused. What wi go wrong next?!
COCKROACHES!!!We spent $450 per night on a week-long stay with a pool view, and it has been a miserable experience. Everything is absolutely disgusting. The pool is surrounded in litter. The elevators to our room havent worked for a day and a half. The pool has been under construction since we arrived, which they didnt notify us about despite the fact that we paid for a pool view. There are food crumbs throughout our room. There was sand in our bed sheets. To top it all off, THERE WERE COCKROACHES IN OUR ROOM.The front desk manager was extremely unhelpful. We were not even initially offered a replacement room, but rather that theyd send an exterminator to our room while we were out. No offer of a partial refund for our stay either, until we canceled the remainder of our stay, just a $100 room credit towards our stay. Absolutely unacceptable.Do not ruin your vacation by staying here. Avoid at all costs.
Wet towels left in washing machine no hot water broken boiler no idea when it will get fixed broken sofa bad bad bad will send another review if problem solved before l check out in two days
Love the Emerald Grande, We love being able to take the shuttle over to the beach and the harborwalk area and all there is to do. Check In was a little aggravating this time because we had to wait on our rooms but it was ok
Beautiful place! It was very clean from the lobby, to the landscaping, to the rooms. There was plenty to do and the staff was very helpful. The only 2 issues I had was it took an hour for our room to be ready. That was in addition to the time they told us the room would be ready. Plus we got hassled by the Wyndham sales rep wanting us to attend a meeting. Despite the fact we had just been in a meeting less than a month prior to coming to Emerald Grand. The rep would not take no for an answer. Other than that, lovely place and I would recommend and attend again.
So for it being a 5 star resort it definitely lacks a lot of things. Customer service is not the best. The concierge wasn’t the best. Rushed us to get our things. We first got there they put us in a room and the master suite did not have a tub. well being seven months pregnant that was something that was important to me so that after a long day I could relax. also our room was under renovations and also up for sale and it was not supposed to be rented out. not sure why they put us in there, so I did reach out to the front desk and let them know that there were some man outside telling us that he was working on the room and that this room was not to be rented out. well unfortunately there was nothing they could do at that time and that they were going to move us the next day. so we were patient and I didn’t mind. we didn’t unpack we kept all of our stuff packed and they said that the concierge would move all of our stuff the next day and for us not to worry about it. so that morning or the following morning and we go down and I let them know like hey we’re heading to the beach for the day and will be gone for a couple hours all of our stuff is packed ready to go for the concierge to move to our new room.so that by the time we get back we can shower and unpack and get ready for dinner. while we were gone for several hours and I was promised that all this was going to be taken care of and I was patient with them so on the way back from the beach I go up to the front desk and ask him if we are moved or not the lady had no idea what I was talking about! so I asked to speak to the manager and she had no idea what I was talking about! So communication is definitely lacking here. she was super patient and kind and got it taken care of pretty quickly I have to say I am it was rather irritated and aggravated inconvenient but she did get it taken care of for me. that was the first thing that was really out of the ordinary I guess was being in this room it had holes the lamp was broken no fans worked for it being a five-star resort I’m expecting the best of the best, especially paying over $2000. so after that we booked a spa me for me and my best friend and that was really nice although the masseuse started a little bit late and finished at the time she was supposed to. I felt like I didn’t get my full hours that I had paid for which is not a huge deal but it’s every little thing matters right! you pay a lot of money for this resort so Its important you get good service. they’re doing renovations at this resort right now and I understand and I’ve been patient. so the hot tub is not working by the pool well if you have little kids swimming and you want to go to the The hot tub you are going to have to use the sundeck well the sundeck is super far away from the pool and it’s just not safe to leave your kids there and you know that was something else that was aggravating being pregnant you know I want to enjoy myself and just wasn’t able to also don’t forget anything because their little gift shop/store is super tiny and doesn’t offer a lot so you’d have to drive. it is a good location it’s on the Harbor boardwalk so that was good. lots of stuff to do outside but I did read other reviews so when we checked out I did get a detailed bill to make sure that all my charges were correct and before checking out. I mean honestly would I stay here again probably but I’m hoping for a better experience nobody called to follow up to make sure our stay was good. I also had accidentally left my pregnancy body pillow and that’s something that I use and apparently it was missing nobody could find it I mean it’s a huge pregnancy body pillow. I have a caLled and followed up with them because nobody would follow up with me and It remains missing. just gave up to be honest and just bought me a new one and I just feel like for the price it just isn’t worth it. but my husband really thought it was nice so I guess that’s all that matters. the kids had fun
Construction going on. We couldnt set on our balcony it was so loud. Very nice condominium though.
Very relaxing strolling along and shopping!
Fun place for couples and families alike!
Amazing views, nice people, great food, fun little shops, plenty of things to do! The condo we were in was lovely! We felt very safe and comfortable throughout our vacation. There was plenty to enjoy within walking distance and the staff was very helpful! Cant wait to go back!
As usual, my needs were met. The management staff is very professional. The dinning in the hotel is fantastic. The industry workers (bartenders and servers) are great on the property.
Check-in was a NIGHTMARE. We arrived around 1 p.m. and were told our room would be ready by 4 (which was fine, check-in is at 4) and that they would call if our room was ready early. We returned to the front desk at 4 p.m. only to be informed that our room was not ready, and that check-in time is actually from 4-6 p.m.. The girl at the front desk, Daija, was very rude and condescending. She said that No one wants to work because of COVID, so housekeeping was behind. When I asked her if my room would definitely be ready by 6 (so Id know what to expect when planning our evening) she stated (and I quote - with a nasty attitude) I dont know. Do I look like the person cleaning the rooms to you? Youre not the only person that needs your room cleaned. I asked to speak to the manager on duty (Lucille) who was actually very nice, but had no solution to our check-in issue except that she would notify her manager (Carrie) and that I should expect a call from Carrie the following day - I never received that call. I returned to the front desk the following day to ask for Carrie, and was told she was busy, but did receive a call from her later that day. She also informed me that check-in time is from 4 to 6 p.m. - when I explained that the website says check-in starts at 4, she said Yes, It says STARTS at 4. That means it could be any time after that. She did not seem concerned about the disrespectful way Daija spoke to me, informed me that Daija is one of the best employees she has at the front desk and in regards to the check-in issue said that unfortunately, due to covid, thats just the way it is.I encountered many other guests in the lobby (on multiple days) who were also upset due to check-in issues. I am not a timeshare owner, but I did book my stay through Wyndham, who partners with this resort. While the housekeeping and check-in issues had nothing to do with Wyndham (The resort itself provides housekeeping services) - in talking to other guests, it did seem that timeshare owners at the resort had a much different (and better) experience than myself or others I spoke to who were not timeshare owners. There was work being done on the pool deck that we were not notified of prior to booking our stay. (We booked just a couple weeks prior to arrival). The pool was open, but there was an awful smell - like burnt rubber, and the view of the water was blocked due to fencing around the construction site.We were in the West tower and had a beautiful view of the bay, but there was a lot of road noise from the bridge, which made it difficult to sleep. Some of the concrete on the balconies appeared to be cracked and in places there were big chunks of concrete missing (especially on the corners), which made me feel uneasy about stepping out onto the balcony. There was tons of trash piled outside in the hallway most mornings where people were just sitting trash in the hallway instead of putting it into the trash chute, and it did not smell pleasant. While this resort was in a very convenient location and had great views of the bay, I dont feel that COVID is a reasonable excuse for sub-par service, uncleanliness or speaking to customers in a disrespectful manner. I will close by saying that our room was ready right at 6 p.m. - Had I known what to expect prior to arrival, or had someone explained the situation to me in a nice/respectful manner when I arrived, I likely would not have been as upset about the late check-in.
Our experience at Emerald Grande as Wyndham resort owners.CHECK INThe front desk ladies were some of the sweetest we have meet during our adventures ventures! However, the Wyndham sales guy Mr. Carr from Texas as he described himself was very arrogant. He started out overly nice. So much so if was obviously fake. But as we refused the presentation you could see he was becoming agitated. First he tried to convince us to attend meeting for information purposes telling us we were priority one arrivals (whatever that means), then he offered $100 which my mom told him even for $200 she wasnt going. He then wadded up our information paper and tossed it. I informed him that was exactly part of the reason we wouldnt be attending and that he acted like a 2 year old. He then made a comment about me not being an owner. Which my mom quickly informed him I am owner and on the deed. As Wyndham owners we experience the sales push everytime we check in but this was definitely the first time we have had anyone be so rude.ROOMWe have stayed in many Wyndham resorts and this is BEST we have had. It has 3 BR and 3 BA. The best part was the wrap around balcony that included a patio table and lounge chairs. We have stayed in resorts with room to sleep 8 or 10 yet the balcony had only 4 chairs.RENOVATIONSThe resort is doing some renovation but how would they keep things nice and updated without this! The indoor and outdoor pool are open and 1 hot tub. I believe when this is complete it will be beautiful addition to the resort.LUGGAGEOur only complaint as far as the hotel is you can NOT use a luggage cart without a bellman. We had 5 peoples luggage and over $150 worth of groceries. If this was an option instead of requirement we probably would have used a bellman but I just dont like being force to use a service and then have to tip. We did see several people using folding wagon to unload their own luggage. Then we were on the elevator with a bellman who told us they only had 1 or 2 bellmen for over 70 check-ins.Yet again looking around at this place we are staying and being thankful to be here made the 4 trips of carrying stuff up worth it!BEACH SHUTTLEBeach shuttle is another part of the resort that can be a hassle for some. I will say were were here in May during off season and still if we didnt catch the first shuttle over at 9:00am we would not get umbrella and chairs in front closest to water. They would always setup more but you could end up several rows back and have to navigate through other to get to water. The positive to this beach shuttle is you are on a beach right where the snorkel tours bring people to snorkel so bring your own stuff and you can snorkel as much as you like!!OVERVIEWOverall - I would definitely stay here again! The only part is if you were to get one of the side rooms it would definitely impact your view. We personally prefer the east tower with harbor view! It is alot of fun to sit on the balcony and watch all the boats going in and out.I have included the room map! This is something I always wish I had before arriving so I wanted to share! Iwill also mention it is very confusing at first as to which elevator and how to get around.
I had a wonderful stay beautiful location
We stayed here for a wedding. They were so unorganized. We weren’t able to check in to our room on time because they couldn’t find our reservation. Once they found our reservation we got settled into our room. I got out of the shower to find a roach on my stuff and termites in the bathroom eating the wood. They weren’t able to move us to a new room bc there was nothing available so they came to spray. The next morning I found 3 more roaches on the bathroom floor so I had to get them to come spray again. It was just not a great experience all around. The bell hops never came to help us get our stuff so we had to drag it all out to the car without a cart. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
I stayed this past weekend for a friends wedding and cant say enough great stuff about Emerald Grande. Our room was clean and an amazing view. We stayed in the Sunset Suites which had an awesome spiral staircase and balconies for every room. It was convenient to the main building where the wedding and reception were and to the shops and restaurants. The wedding and catering team deserves 10000/10 stars because they are the BEST of the best. If I were getting married then thats a team Id want to work with for my important day. Whether youre doing a short stay or an extended family trip, Emerald Grande is the place to stay in Destin.
Beautiful place. A must go with the family.
We stayed in a 3 bed 2 bath condo this week. The lobby is beautifully decorated and welcoming. Our unit was perfectly equipped and comfortable. We would love to visit again during summer months to fully experience the pool and harbor and resort amenities.
Our room was filthy. Dust & dirt piled up in the corners of the bathrooms. Our feet was black from walking on the floors. Got into bed on the first night and it was full of sand so theres no chance that the sheets were cleaned. Our kitchen dining room lights dud not work and was never fixed. The front desk was nice but nothing was done to fix these issues besides providing new sheets for the sandy bed. I definitely had much higher expectations. The harbor walk was great.
We vacationed there with our kids and grandkids. We Loved the accommodations and staff and atmosphere.
Good crowd, good music.
Also worth mentioning, if coming during the fringe of warm weather, the indoor heated pool is absolutely SMALL. Didn’t measure but maybe 12’x16’.
