Too many details and such a crazy situation but, Tuffy took FANTASTIC care of my parents vehicle when we had multiple issues after evacuating from IDA. We called several places to get the car fixed and got high prices and at least 7 day waiting lists. Tuffy got us in right away, charged reasonable prices, did great work, didnt pressure us for extras or try to scare us into more work. They were honest, friendly and professional. These folks are amazing.

We drove 10 hours from TN when our vehicle was having possible transmission problems on Labor Day weekend. After stopping at 2 local dealerships with no help, we were referred to Tuffys. They were able to look at the vehicle immediately, as well as determine that we just needed transmission fluid. They were extremely helpful, lightning fast and very friendly and accommodating. 10/10!

This location is a scam. I took my vehicle in for the check engine light, I had a pretty good idea as to why the light was on which was my fuel dispensary apparatus but they said it was a hose and the fuel injection. My bill was $570. Now my engine light is on again after getting fuel and just 3 days after Tuffys so called repair. So upset. They do not represent veterans reputation at all. My husband is a veteran and I am disabled so we cant afford to be cheated this way.

Super impressed with the willingness to get me as soon as they could. They did a thorough battery check and determined that I did t need a new battery. Its not just what they did but how well and how nice and friendly they were! Nice friendly and professional gets my business every time! Made a reservation, had a Groupon for oil change and tire rotation for $42 (full synthetic) - great deal! I get there and was gruffly (not rude, but gruffly) told they dont honor Groupon and none of the other locations do either. I would have to take it up with Groupon. Ok...wish Id have known that, but ok. I decided to do it just this once anyway for around $96. I was waiting for the service and couldnt get a straight answer on how long itd be. Keep in mind, I made a reservation! Why? I dont know anymore. But, ok...I guess, thats fine. They have wifi and coffee. Sure, then, about 45 minutes later, my car is ready. Good deal. But, they didnt do the tire rotation correctly. It was up to me to request them to rotate the spare also. My fault for being a customer and assuming youre knowledgeable enough to know (or ask?) if I had a spare and wanted it rotated. I wont be going back to Tuffy. One time touching the stove is enough for me. But, maybe it wont burn you! Good luck!

Firstly, everyone I talked to there were super nice and accommodating even after bringing down another piece of their awning that got caught on my box truck, so my review is reflecting more about how everything when down.I dropped off my 1998 E350 box truck on Friday August 21, 2020 for1. An electrical diagnostic on the power and cigarette lighter, the ignition key buzzer and the liftgate. For some reason they don’t have power or not working properly.2. A very noticeable shudder/vibration at 40 MPH3. Non-working windshield cleaning system.4. A block of wood sticking out from under the rear drivers side of my truck.5. ABS control module. I have the part in order hoping it would be here during the time it was at Tuffy’s. They were going to try to acquire the part per policy.Between drop off on 21 August and pickup on 1 September 2020 and several phone calls in between, mostly on my part (it was funny at first to keep being asked “Nobody called you?), but having to keep repeating myself and following up on what was done /not done got old.So $426.97 after available discounts, bought me another new tire for the passenger side (just had the driver’s side replaced on 14 July for $150 installed), a replaced windshield wiper fluid hose under the cowl and a totally dead battery. Both front tires were supposed to be Roadforce balanced, but I have no idea if that was done.They wanted to just replace the transmission without any cheaper options to be explored because they don’t do that. On 3 September I took my truck to Webb’s Transmission on Racetrack, they temp fixed my ignition buzzer problem. It’s still engaging when it shouldn’t but at least it’s working again. It’s broken though, I know who did it, but they won’t take responsibility for it. Webb’s also put an additive in my transmission to smooth out the shuddering/vibrations at 40Mph. It may need the torque converter replaced ($500-$800) if the first 1-3 repair options don’t fix the problem. Total out the door $91.38. The drive home was so much better. We’ll see if it further improves or if we need to move to the next option.The electrical couldn’t be diagnosed because of “all the after market wiring” they wanted me to take my Ford Box truck to freightliner in Crestview to have the wiring set back to factory specs? Well at my 3 September appointment, the loss of power to the power outlet and cigarette lighter ended up being a loose fuse. They both work perfectly now. Total out the door for everything $94.79. The parasitic draw that killed my battery that I had to replaced ($119.56 before $12.78 core return) right before my appointment on the 3rd after multiple failed attempts to jump it was caused by the dome light being left on. I’m not sure why they didn’t change my battery especially after telling me it was so weak. They were nice enough to jump it so I could drive it home, but told me not to turn it off after I tried to jump it with my portable jump box but the battery was so low, mine wouldn’t work.Judging by all the cobwebs between the parking lot and my truck’s chassis in the same spot I parked it over a week and a half ago and the odometer reading the same for check-in and check-out, it looks like it’s just been sitting there. If none of the work I needed/wanted done could be done why wasn’t I told to just come pick it up sooner? It was always “oh ok, I’ll check on that and someone will call you.The loose block of wood underneath, I was told to go by an RV shop to buy another “shackle” to keep the wood in place.Summary:I won’t be going back to this Tuffy’s again.Lyft ride home after dropping off $53.19New passenger side tire, and replaced windshield wiper fluid hose $426.97Lyft ride to Tuffy’s to pick up $49.85New battery $106.37 (after core return)Electrical problems fixed elsewhere $94.79Transmission work and ignition buzzer fixed elsewhere $91.38.I still have to get my lift gate troubleshot/fixed.

Have been coming here for years.... Their staff and even the gentleman at the store front are exactly how you would like to be treated.... Very understanding and knowledgeable of problems.... and if for whatever reason theres a hiccup, theyre quick to rectify the issue... Definitely recommend: A++

Over the years while visiting Destin on vacation, my family has had three separate vehicle issues that would have otherwise left us in a very bad way. Tuffy was able to immediately get to work on the issue on each occasion and get us back on the road within an hours time. Great bunch of guys who do a great job.

I can’t recommend Tuffys highly enough. They were able to order me a tire late Friday afternoon & have it in by noon on Sat & installed immediately. I called 10 other shops in the area & no one cd get me a tire in until Mon or Tues. Many weren’t even open on Sat. Some closed early on Friday. They had the best hours, the friendliest people & the quickest service. Josh who helped me & the young man behind the desk were lovely. A plus!

I have always gone to another shop out of habit, but recently tried Tuffys because they have nitrogen for my tires. While I was there I asked them to look into a headlight issue I was having. Keith thoroughly inspected the issue, explained it to me with a suggested solution, and offered to install the headlight once I received a replacement from the manufacturer. Austin at the front desk was also professional and friendly. I will be bringing my car to Tuffys from now on. Thank you guys!

This place is completely useless. Refuses to do service cause they’re in knowledgeable and completely unprofessional. Cant tell the difference between a flush and a drain and fill. Don’t bother with them.

Came to town for vacations and had cooling fans failure and they wanted to replace radiator, thermostat and cooling fans and charging almost 3k for all of that plus i being charge 200 just for inspection. Over priced, took that to a different mechanic and all need to be replace was the cooling fan. I wouldnt recommend this shop for nothing.

I’ve given them multiple opportunities to live up to their potential and even brought in other business but in the end Tuffys and Pepboys are all much the same. My experience with them and my humble opinion is that they’re good for a nail in a tire or an oil change maybe but that’s as far as they can rise. Disappointing not being able to find CONSISTENT & FAIR PRICING in a tourist town. Diagnostics deplorable, and the front desk service writer was not a pleasure. Love Austin, and a few others are very personable and transparent. Being a woman with limited means, walking into a “service” station is often frustrating, and this place sadly was no different. I don’t think they didn’t try, they are just not capable when it comes to important, bigger ticket issues. I also wish I’d read the reviews on here while I sat in their waiting room and adjusted my expectations accordingly. Fortunately, thanks to my experience at Tuffy’s Destin, I found a local place - a real garage who appreciates locals and doesn’t speak in double talk when it comes to diagnostics and explanations as to why they’d like to seriously overcharge an issue that they can’t pinpoint. Can you imagine going 78 mph on the interstate and your entire tire flying off your SUV with your husband and two small children in the vehicle? Well, that’s exactly what happened to us after visiting Tuffy Service Center in Destin 4604 Opa-Locka Ln, Destin, FL 32541. The tire and rim of my Ford Expedition went flying down the interstate after Tuffy technicians forgot to fasten and tighten the lug nuts on my tires. Then Tuffy tried to cover it up, now we are personally out of pocket a minimum $600 and have been dealing with this issue for over three months. The fact that we were on the interstate traveling 78 mph and my entire family including my daughters (4 and 8-years-old) were in the vehicle. We are blessed and so thankful that the truck didn’t flip and hurt us or someone else traveling on the interstate. I can only imagine the damage it could have caused to another vehicle if our flying rim hit them on the interstate. Then to our astonishment, after evaluation of the vehicle from Goodyear in Alabama (where our vehicle was towed), they informed us that the FRONT LUG NUTS WERE LOOSE ALSO. Then to surpass that they have continued to make this nightmare go on by editing the video footage of my vehicle while it was in the shop on April 14th and doing everything they can to not pay for their mistake. Tuffy? Do you not have any morals or integrity? You could have killed my entire family from your negligence, and instead of trying to have integrity you have decided to attempt to cover up your mistakes. In consulting an attorney for legal advice their response to this entire situation, “this smells fishy and they any everyone involved knows it, that is why they are trying to cover it up.The video footage was edited only to show the clip that doesn’t show the vehicle side in question. After repeated calls to Tuffy’s insurance company (Travelers Insurance) with no return phone calls from Travelers for weeks on I finally received a call from their insurance stating that they only would issue 1,000 towards the claim. Due to not accepting 100 % fault. My vehicle has been devalued, I have been without a properly operating vehicle for three months, my children are still traumatized by the entire accident, and we are out of pocket $600 due to this negligence caused by TUFFY. Also, we have been in contact with another person that has experienced this same negligence from this same location. When approaching Tuffy to try and handle on a local standpoint they did not even have the cordiality to respond.Tuffy has been negligent in failing to perform their work in a workman-like manner, failing to follow the standard of care applicable, failing to properly reinstall the left front & back wheel, failing to replace the lug nuts on the front & back left wheel, failing to ensure that the lug nuts were installed and tightened to an adequate level of torque, failing to provide quality assurance in connection with the work performed, and for failing to warn us that they had not properly installed the lug nuts. They should have inspected that the vehicles lug nuts were in proper and safe order before ensuring us that it was safe to take on the road (especially a 4-hour road trip on the interstate as I repeatedly communicated. My only mistake was trusting them and then trusting they would follow their company slogan At Tuffy, we stand behind our work and promise that it will be Done Right. Period, or well fix it for free*.

They were friendly and very fast. I had a coupon for a free oil change and rotation. They did not hesitate to honor that and made me feel welcome. Will be doing business there from now on:)

Made appointment to hav brakes checked. As I expected, fronts needed replacement. They were able to accommodate me same day. Cost was exactly that on the detailed estimate provided me. 24month/24K mile warranty was provided. Tuffys is my go-to auto shop when in the area.

Josh got me in at the last minute on a Sunday. I picked up a huge spike in my tire that I couldnt repair personally. I was in a pinch - as I absolutely must have my truck for work. Super nice, super professional, and they had me in and out in 20 minutes. I was stressed, because it was a large patch on a $300 tire with less than 500 miles on it.Their patch is warrantied for the life of the tire 👍Definitely recommend them, and well return.

These guys were great I called ahead and had my truck towed in for a flat tire my spare wouldnt come down. They got me in right away and it was a bad valve core they fixed me right up and sent me on my way. This Monday im buying lunch for the shop they were great

They didnt not tighten lug nuts lost both front caps and only had one lug nut left on tire and its wonders we didnt wreck as they came off on the interstate.

They got us in while we were on vacation and got us taken care of. They kept good communication and got us back on the road to come home.

Called in the morning when our ac went out in our conversion van, we had to leave Florida that day. They got me in at 10. Due to it being a custom set up, they couldn’t fix it but got us in to ft Walton radiator, who took great care of us. Tuffy was super great to us, even tried not to charge me (I insisted, they were jam packed but still offered to help). Would absolutely use them if they were nearby.

Fast help fixing my car so I could return back home to tampa. A +.

Prior to leaving Destin at the end of our vacation, I noticed a nail in one of my tires. Having contacted all of the local tire stores in the area, none of which were willing to look at my tire the same day, the team at Tuffy not only worked me in as a walk-in, but bumped me to the front of the line and did a quick inspection of all 4 tires. Not only that, they did so complimentary. I would highly recommend!!!

We had a 14 hour drive down and on the way one of my brakes got hot and started smoking about 10 hours into the trip. Took my truck in while we were down there and they told me I need all four new rotors, calipers, and pads. They were also going to charge me $118 for every 15 minutes of labor and the total was just over $1700. Laughed at them and drove it back home with no problem. Got a local trustworthy guy to check it out once I was back home and fixed the problem for $350. Tuffy Tire in Destin is nothing but a bunch of jokes who try and take advantage of tourist with car trouble. I DO NOT recommend going here. I wouldnt send my worst enemy here.

The technicians are careless. Went for an oil change and ended up leaking oil everywhere. Went back to get it fixed and they carelessly slammed my hood down which ended up breaking of my front grill. Of course it didn’t fall off at the shop but did while I was going 70 down 98. By the grace of God no one was injured but my car did get damaged.

Randal is extremely rude! Turning away cash paying customers. Refused to do an oil change because I wanted to bring my own oil not their crud in my engine. I would never in a trillion years refer this place to a single soul. Worst shop in destin, dont waste your time.

They were nice people but they wanted $41 just to repair a simple nail hole. Good Year Auto Service down the road did it for free as a courtesy and good customer service. I can not say that Tuffy offers the same. Shame on them for over charging for something so simple.

Excellent location, and staff were quick to address any issues. I pulled in needing some air for my tires, and I was in-and-out within 6 minutes; this was all covered free of charge. They are amazing with customers, and really make it a point to help. I will say, they are definitely popular, as the parking lot was packed, and this was 35 min after they opened. If you need a quick fix for your car, or help with tires, I would highly recommend. A quick note, you cant reach this area from the main road, and you need to turn off and enter in from behind.

Originally I scheduled tire rotation & oil change on my disability van. They were able to do oil change on initial date but had to go back a second day to have tires rotated. The gentlemen doing the oil change didnt know how to get van on lift. Both days staff was very nice & helpful. Since Im retired I did have the extra time to come back. I will. Continue to use Tuffys. The owner & Cory are very knowledgeable.

While every place around was running 1 to 2 hours to fix a simple nail in my right front tire, these guys got me right in. Even though they were busy, they made me feel like I was important too. Even better, since it was my first visit, they did it FREE! They have definitely earned a lifelong customer! The technician was awesome, courteous, respectful and professional. If you need help with your car while youre in this area, these are your guys! Its about 20 miles from my house but Ill make the drive for this kind of service.

End of vacation, preparing to head home and found a screw in the tire... last headache we wanted to deal with! After calling the 2 closest tire places and not able to get in, 3rd try was a charm! Tuffy gave us an appointment a couple of hours later. We walked in for appointment and out with a repaired tire 20 minutes later. Grateful for a pleasant staff and efficient service! Allowed us to enjoy the rest of last day of vacation. Thanks Tuffy!

My family and I woke up with a flat on our way out of town. I stopped at 3 places who all said they were too busy to help. Tuffy was swamped, too. But they worked me in. They said they didn’t want me and my family to not be safe, so they took care of me immediately. They backed my van up right away and got me and my family back on the road in 15 minutes...safely. I am a local and had never used Tuffy. I dropped in on a Sunday with no appointment due to a nail in my tire which led to a slow leak. The service advisor working, Corey, was able to get my car back and repaired in about 20 minutes. Great experience ! I will be going back for future auto work.

These guys are absolutely stellar. Every time I pass, they are packed with every stall full and I experienced why. My wife had a screw in her tire and cant be without transportation so I called for an appointment and planned to leave the car for the day. I called and spoke to Corey Lerandeau who told me to bring it in and hed fit it in. When I arrived and saw every stall and parking space filled with people waiting, I figured it would be a while. Cory is a great polite and enthusiastic guy who had us back on the road in an hour. I go in to pay and settle up and Cory greets me again, smiles, and says Here are your keys sir, youre all fixed up and have a great day! I tried to pay and he told me theres no charge. How crazy is that in 2018! I will definitely be back! Good job guys!

While on vacation from Houston we picked up a nail in our front tire (White Jeep Laredo) late Saturday afternoon 6/9/2018 while starting our long ride home. We first went to Goodyear who had a 90 minute wait. They recommended Tuffys. We called first, drove over and within 5 minutes Doug was working on patching our tire. They were super friendly very attentive and got us on the road quickly!I asked what I owed for the repair and they comped the patch when they could have easily charged me for the repair. Good guys who we would use again!! Thank you Doug and the gentlemen who I spoke to in the office!!

The first guy I spoke to said they could help and all would be fine. When I called back to get an actual quote the 2nd guy told me no because all I needed was my power steering lines put in. Why cant they put my lines back in?? Liability is what they said but what Liability? Only warranty the work you did not the pump that Ive already replaced. Your a mechanic shop, your supposed to work on cars, not push people away that need help with their vehicles. Bad business, unhelpful, sorry shop.

They were wonderful when our car recently broke down while on vacation 05/29/18. They were fast, honest, and got us back on the road in no time. Kendall was very kind, and compassionate, and helped us understand what was going on every step of the way. The price was very reasonable, and they worked with our warranty company to get some of it covered under warranty. They are AAA approved! What more could you ask for? Highly recommend them!! Drove to Destin on vacation on Saturday. Rear brakes started loud rubbing near end of trip. Went to Tuffy early Sunday morning. One technician arrived before store opened. He looked at the car in the parking lot. When store opened, Corey put car on rack to assess. Determined brakes and rotors were needed. Provided estimate. He made sure I was aware of available discounts. Completed the car by promised time. Both employees were very professional and empathetic to me having to spend part of my vacation to fix my car. Overall excellent customer service and work.

I have been in Florida helping out after Hurricane Michael. I got a screw in my tire and called Tuffy Tire to see about getting tire patched. I got scheduled same day and only took 15 minutes to arrive at location and then have truck ready to go again on the road. Not only was that great service but I grabbed my wallet to pay at counter and manager stated no charge. I couldnt believe the generosity! I highly recommend Tuffy Tire for their quick service and friendly staff!

I needed to pick up a family members car and take it on a long road trip. I was unsure of how road worthy it was but they gave me a free inspection. I didnt need anything done to the car but Im really happy with the service I got.

We always take our Bay Breeze Patio trucks to Tuffy. Service is great, fast and the best value. Today we picked up our car from Tuffy care. Once again, we were treated like neighbors and our car was well taken care of. I love doing business with local businesses that do it right.

Not the worst ever still shady though... They charge $90 for computer diagnostics but they cut price in half after I asked about it (they justify price by calling it a full diagnostic)... considering its free at auto parts stores this sucks. Another bad tactic to look out for... Extra unnecessary repairs... Ol Tuffy recommended new spark plugs but I just had plugs replaced 2 weeks ago after I saw that I knew they werent the most kosher outfit. Lastly, the parts they put in must have been super premium quality because they were way above market price. Labor prices were high too... came out to 1.1 hours of labor.. replacing coil pack and spark plug wires can be done in 15 minutes... I guess its the summer premium pricing or maybe just the super premium parts that needed extra attention and time to install... .6 to replace wires Tuffy shame on you. Be weary but if youre in a bind theyll get your car running for a premium price.

Come in from IN and had a brake issue on my truck, Tuffys was close to our condo, was a little taken back we stopped in first night and was estimated a price for service then when dropped of the next morning the atcually estimate was almost 200$ more, had to have the job done. The service was pleasant and seems to be decent work just may want to ask for a better rough estimate.

Woke up with a screw in the tread of one of my tires. Stopped in to Tuffy and they had me back on the road in less than 15 minutes. The plug only cost $10. Counter service was great and I would definitely use their service again and recommend them.

We have been patrons of Tuffy’s since they opened here. They always take great care of our vehicles. Whether it’s a nail in a tire or the truck suspension they do it all. They know us by name and always have a smile when we walk in. They even sent someone to us when our battery died. I feel they look at our safety as seriously as the safety of their own families and that makes a world of difference.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with Tuffy last week.We were originally quoted $383 for a tire replacement and battery change... after the tire and battery were replaced, they informed us there would be a change in price... the new total was $ 525.Luckily, after speaking with management, they input our old battery and only charged us for the tire replacement.We did not appreciate them replacing both items and then informing us the price would increase by $142, without us having an ability to approve of the change in price.I would highly recommend being cautious with this group.

I Love Destin!!! And people are so Friendly we normally do a vehicle check before we leave and for some odd reason we did not. A gentlemen followed us and when we pulled over he told us we had a low tire and it looked like there was a nail in our tire. So heading to Wal-Mart we seen this little Tuffy Tire Auto Service. Fixed our tire with have a blessed day and a hand shake. Love this place

I always go to this tuffys they are always nice. They are fast and the prices are affordable. Plus the wait area is comfortable.
