I loved this store. Was my go to store. But since last week it has been closed says on the door. Due to no cashiers its closed. I understand due to covid but pay a bit more and maybe you will have more employees....

Employees here are often either busy or seem tired, but they are still helpful when you need something.Large variety of products here as well, more than I would have expected from a dollar store.Only real complaint is that the place always seems a little dingy. Most dollar stores are this way, and given that theres usually only 1-2 employees working I can understand. A good cleaning would definitely improve the atmosphere of the store, however.

Convenient and cheaper. Much less crowded than a Walmart, but dont be alarmed if you hear the loud speakers chime in. Security monitoring is watching/recording the store. Awkward...((just post a sign people!))

Its a good place to bought some cheap stuff. Sometimes they have some good deals.

Love going there even if its just to browse.

I like dollar general, and they are upping the quality and design of their household, especially. this dg is a little crowded in the entry way so if their is a line at checkout, you could go eat a little claustrophobic. they always have a clearance aisle and usually a table - which I never go without looking at..employers are all pretty nice. its always clean and pretty stocked and organized. just dont forget your duffel bag there, and tell them youll back to get it,( dont have a car) and well they get rid of it anyways...that was pretty irritating...and has me thinking of another store now, but its still the closest so.....

I like checking out their candles, the salted Carmel is the best. We dont get a lot of stuff here but fun to see what they have thats new. Always seasonal stuff cheap. Word search books, candy, TP, soap.

Small enough and close to north side of Des Moines. Get stuff get out. Thats the reason why I avoid Walmart especially after 4pm.

Was with my mom. She was looking for air freshener. The young lady went out her way to find what my mom was looking for, great services.

The store is set back behind a Casy gas station. Theres parking on both sides of the building. The store is full of merchandise literally as soon as you walk thru the door. I dont know if thats good or bad. I generally go in for household items and its always a good price. Ive tried to use the app to save some extra coins but I forget to read the small print so end up paying the original price. The store employees are always nice.

Always look forward to going to Dollar General, we love to wander around, look at the vast selection of items. Always have great prices, staff knows us, happy to help. Look forward to next visit.

I lv going to dollar general. Because if u need a little bit of e everything . U can get it in one place.

It was a very good experience indeed! I went in in need of some razors and some black shoe polish for my boots. I found quality razors for a great price. I asked the cashier where I could find the Carnauba Wax and she was very helpful and friendly. And the Military Gloss Black Polish was about two bucks cheaper than the price across the street.

Always pray to have the one item you looking for shelves are always cluttered floors dirty trash everywhere

Nikki the manager was to busy looking busy stocking shelves then to help the poor guy ringing up a line of customers. She was extremely rude and will not be back!

I am only giving an additional 2 stars because the tall skinny guy always is helpful when I am looking for something specific. I only wanted to give 1 star due to the other employees in particular the short white haired older lady is very rude and nasty.

Crowed like most Dollar General but had what I wanted at a great price.

We do a lot of shopping here, very helpful.

We went in to use our digital coupon but the minute we walked in our phones got no service until we walked back out. So they have cellphone service blocked in there so you cant use your digital coupons. Will not go in there again. Wonder if corporate knows they are doing this.

Isles are packed so full you can hardly move down them.

Typical Dollar General;Could be cleaner, Could be nicer, Could be more organized, Could have better quality products or more choices in some things.But it works for ur neighborhood grab-n-go things.

The dollar store is my go to store and this one is my favorite. Clean, spacious and always have a different variety of product to choose from.

You know why dollar general always looks like it does and is always understaffed? Because people keep going, so why change it? Place always looks like poo poo

This dollar general needs some work. The workers have very vulgar music playing from the phones and makes the customers feel very uncomfortable if you have to ask where something is at.

I just moved to the east side recently and was glad to see there was a dollar general just up the road from me on hubble, had gone in there a number of times an then the last time I was in there something fell out of my purse, so I pick it up an go about my business getting the things I need,I cross paths with what i assume now to be the manager I would say at least 3 times while Im there, but not thinking anything of it mind you I might of spent 10 -15 minutes there tops before going to cash out at which time the cashier asks me did I put something in my purse, I was just like excuse me, then told her if I did whatever it was belonged to me an she was free to search my purse if she needed, at which time she told me she was only doing as she was told to do as the manager apparently only had the balls to follow me around an not actually ask me herself, needless to say they lost my business an I hope they lose alot more, I found their actions just down right rude an horrible I tell everyone not to go to that store, found the family dollar just down the road, so thats a warning to yall go to any dollar general cept for the one on hubble unless ya wanna be accused of theft, as for me Ive taken my money else where

I like going to Dollar General to pick up cleaning supplies, aleve, and hygiene which is usually always at a lower price then I find other places. And of course I have to mention the Little Debbie Donuts... They are cheaper here and they have a large variety. The reason for the 3 stars is that every time I go in there it is a mess.
