This company is great! I was given their name as a recommendation from a friend who used them about a month prior to me mentioning that we needed radon abatement for our new home. Job well done installing a radon remediation system in our 3 year old patio home! Our follow-up test result is less than 0.4 pCi/L, down from almost 9 pCi/L. This system works great, its quiet and the outside portion has an unobtrusive appearance. Matt, our installer, did a skillful, efficient and neat job of putting all the parts in place. If your home has high radon - and you really should have it tested - I highly recommend contracting with 5280 Radon.

It always bums me out to leave reviews less than 5 stars. But my radon mitigation + vapor barrier system was installed over 3 weeks ago and a follow-up radon test never happened. The staff member said he forgot the test during installation and that hed bring one back, but unfortunately that never happened. Also the other staff member who installed the vapor barrier in my crawlspace made very little effort to put the insulation back in place after moving it all for installation. However, the woman I spoke to at their office, Priscilla, was lovely.EDIT: The owner of 5280 just stopped by to address my concerns and was very understanding and accommodating. My issues were relatively minor but they seem to be going above and beyond to turn things around. Bumping my review up to 5 stars and I would recommend them!

Matt from 5280 was great to work with, on time and finished the install in 3 hours. He explained several options, install was minimally invasive and home was left as clean as when he began. I had readings before install from a daily low of 6.8 to a high of 13.5 averaging 3 days at 10.94. 2 weeks after install low is 1.4 - high 4.48, 3 day average is 3.42 and dropping. Knowing that from previous testing my basement needed mitigation, I called 5280. Martha, who manages their office, was a delight to talk to. My basement is finished and a walk-out. I thought perhaps the job might be a bit complicated as placement options were limited so the owner agreed to come out, at no cost, to examine the basement. He assured my husband they could easily do the mitigation. Scheduling was a breeze. The price was less than other estimates I had received earlier. Toby, the installer arrived at the designated time, wore a mask, and went straight to work. Three to four hours later, the work was complete. Toby had throughly cleaned the area, was friendly and professional. They guarantee their work for seven years. Although they leave a test to confirm radon levels, I had purchased a well recognized radon tester a year before so I also turned it on. Levels had dropped from over 12 to.4. Without reservation, I recommend 5280 Mitigation.

They ended up doing a pipe from basement extra space into garage, then into attic and through roof. This required a decent amount of care and effort.The finished product is hidden away and the exposed portions look better than expected.Within 48 hours my Airthings monitor reported a drop from over 9 to below 1. The initial mitigation install was sub standard and did not comply with the code my municipal had adopted. After several calls and emails they did return and fix the issue but the work performed is still not to a high quality.

Everything was very east to set up and the installer was informative and listened to my needs. My installation was a little more difficult, or so I thought, due to the way my home is set up with the half-finished basement and the other half covered by a deck on one side, garage on another, and a front porch. He said no problem and had it figured out quickly and installed it just as fast. Job well done. My new home Im having built comes with a system installed, but I will use 5280 for any needs that may arise with my system.

It has been about six months since we received our radon mitigation system. Everything is running smoothly. I was very specific in saying how I wanted the pipes to be run up through the attic and out the roof. They followed my wishes spot on! It was not an easy job for them, but they never complained or tried to change my mind. They just made it happen. We had initially hired another company, they had come out and drilled holes in our slab, ran into some difficulties, left at lunch and we never saw or heard from them again. 5280 was the exact opposite kind of experience. They faced the difficulties and came up with great solutions. Only thing I would suggest is that they use a little better adhesive for attaching the plastic in the crawlspace to the foundation. I have never asked 5280 to come back out to patch the few little areas but I am sure if I did that they would be here in a heartbeat. They are that kind of company.

I bought a house in Arvada a few weeks ago and one of the conditions of the sale was having a radon mitigation system installed. Unfortunately, the seller had 5280 Radon Mitigation put the system in a very inconvenient location in the basement bedroom. After taking ownership of the home, I called 5280 Radon Mitigation to inquire about having the system moved to a better location. They were very professional and accommodating, and even though they were not obligated in any way to move the system (as it was approved and paid for by the seller), they gave me an exceptionally fair rate to relocate the system and run it through the garage.I was extremely satisfied with the final result and impressed with their willingness to accommodate our needs. He made the attic happen for me even though I know it took him 2 to 3 hours longer to do it. Then he answered all my questions to a T! I wish more companies were this good. Oh by the way, the Radon Mitigation not only works awesome but my windows no longer have dripping condensation building every morning in the winter. I am 71 years old and have owned a home since I was 26. In that time, I have employed general contractors, electricians, HVAC, plumbers, carpenters, sheet-rockers, carpet layers, roofers, gutter guys, and landscapers. Some were good and some very bad.This is my first experience with radon mitigation. My radon level in my basement was 11.Prior to engaging 5280 Mitigation, I did extensive reaserch on radon, and on companies doing mitigation.Chris and Bryan own 5280. Chris is easy to talk to, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. He also returns calls promptly.When I contracted with Chris, he setup the installation in a timely manner. The contract calls for reducing the radon level to 4.0 or lower. The installer, Sandy, arrived on time and was very professional and took extra time and effort to dig out the pit to make it large enough to provide sufficient suction.A week after installation, I retested the radon level. It came back at 7.5 which is above the 4.0 standard.I have had some awful experiences with trying to get contractors to come back and correct work. I was expecting the worse when I called and left a message for Chris. To my delight, he called right back and setup up an appointment to correct it. Bryan came out and installed a larger fan (in a snow storm).This time, the reading came back at 4.6...still too high. I was wondering if Chris might say something like well thats close enough. Nope, Chris said he will send Bryan back to figure a way to drop it to 4 or under.It is a pleasure to work with a company who does what they say and returns calls. I will do an update on this review when I get the next test back. I highly recommend this company if you need radon mitigation.Update as of July10, 2017.Bryan came out as scheduled.He drilled a secondary pit and attached it to the main pit via 4 piping. Our realtor had suggested other Radon companies but they lacked the first call warmth. Chris emailed an estimate within 10 minutes, once again our agent tried pushing bigger companies at closing...We didnt listen to the buzz and neither should you. Have Brian take care of this. He was awesome what a gift of customer service and pride of business ownership!!. He had us smiling throughout the entire process, as 1st time home owners with a vintage house this is very appreciated.Very very fair price and guaranteed work done by locally proud business owners. Too bad this is one of those things that is a one time thing, Id look forward to a quarterly visit from Brian if not, sooo friendly!. Dont hesitate book it!!!

I called a few companies and the price was the same as 5280. What impressed me the most initially was how quickly they followed up on the qoute and the amount of time Chris spent explaining the system. The installers also were on time and even though it was more work they vented thru the garage. Very impressed with the workmanship of the system and I know that I received a competitive cost. Will recommend in the future. A small price to pay for piece of mind knowing that I dont have radon in my house.

I found out I had a real radon problem after doing 2 home tests, so I called these guys to install a radon mitigation system. They were able to work with my schedule and arrived on time with more guys than they really needed to get the job done. After reviewing the inadequate system the builder put in my home, they gave me a few options on best location for the proper system to provide maximum effectiveness with minimal noise level. The system was installed in a few hours and you would never know it was there. The pump is almost completely silent and in a place where you cant hear it even with the windows open. The installer spent some time explaining to me what he did, and if there was a problem, what simple things I could check before calling them out for service. Overall its was a great experience for a reasonable price, and my radon level dropped to almost nothing with the new system. I would definitely use these guys again if I needed another radon reduction system.

After several bids, I had 5280 Radon come out before we put our house on the market. I had a choice as to how to vent the system without a price increase like everyone else had been quoting. We got to run up the garage rather than out the side of the house so now it is just another stack rather than an eye sore. The guys not only did a great job and walked me through the system, but offered to come out to MT if I needed radon mitigation up there!
