We originally contracted with Boxelder Consulting to help review our tax debt. We paid them an substantial amount of money to reduce our tax debt and to set up a payment plan with the IRS. After two years all they have accomplished is to set up a payment plan. We have tried reaching out to Tom and his associates over a dozen times. Not only would they not return our calls but they blocked our phone number. We had to call from a different number and use a fake name to even get through to Tom. He was extemely rude and tried to use Covid as an excuse even though this has been ongoing for over 2 years. Tom made it known that they would not negotiate any further nor will they refund any monies. I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend this company unless you have money to just throw away.

I contacted Boxelder after a family tragedy. Unbeknownst to me, I had missed filing a tax year and paying all of the taxes due. This created a tax liability that I didn’t know about but I certainly owed. It also created about $80K of penalties and interest. I worked with Tom Conradt of Boxelder Consulting. Tom and his team was able to file an appeal and explain my situation. The IRS reviewed my situation and waived my penalties and associated interest on the penalties (I did pay interest on my actual Tax liability). I was thrilled with the outcome. Had a far-less-than-stellar experience with Dave, who was extremely responsive before I signed up, then vanished into thin air once he had made some money off me.My 2018 returns were reviewed by 3 different CPAs, and was consistently told they had been done very poorly/incorrectly, and when I tried repeatedly to contact him to get help, no reply. So I am now having to pay to do it all over again. One of the CPAs that reviewed the return stated whoever did this return should have his license revoked.I ended up overpaying by $20,000 on my 2018 taxes - and the return was so sloppy that even my date of birth was incorrect. RUN, dont walk from this gaggle of dishonest incompetents.

I know lots of people have good accountants, friends that are accountants or handle things by themselves. Which I have done in the past but now I have found an amazing team of people at BoxElder. Saving me thousands of dollars is a huge deal! I would much rather pay a small business (which is all tax deductible anyways) and less money to the IRS. I know its cheaper to just file on Turbo Tax and I ended up paying the IRS thousands more than I should have. Before I was paying the IRS what I thought was normal. What makes them better than just an accountant is they are a team of people with different set skills. They seem to genuinely care about you getting the best out of your tax situation and return. I am working with them for business consulting, delinquent taxes and plan on using them for my 2018 taxes and future filings. It was something I put off for a long time, 3 years of having that worry in the back of my mind and luckily I was referred by a friend. Very nice group of people, friendly. Probably the nicest attorneys and accountants you will ever meet. I would recommend them for personal taxes, business taxes and business consulting even if you are not having any issues. Tom and Dave were great. They were straight forward with what they could and could not help with and carefully reviewed my situation and documents. Unfortunately the facts were in favor of the IRS this time and they could not significantly reduce what I owed. Even in that situation they were honest and stated they could not in good conscience justify allowing me to pay their fees when the amount they might save me was not much more in comparison. I hope I never need a tax attorney again, but if I do Ill be calling them first.

Honestly, this was the fastest and least painful experience Ive ever had while dealing with my taxes. Within a couple of days of signing the Power of Attorney forms, both my 2016 and my 2017 were filed. The prospect of having to take care of these taxes has been hanging over my head for a year, and I spent days trying to call the IRS, trying to get information, trying to amend my previous years returns and just hitting dead ends. And in the span of two days, Boxelder took care of everything without requiring any extra information from me. Without hyperbole, they are truly magical. I was always hesitant to hire someone to do my taxes, as I often thought that the cost would outweigh the benefits, but boy was I wrong. The filing cost was extremely reasonable, and well-worth getting back the hours and hours that I usually spend struggling to try to get my taxes done. The feeling of relief in knowing that my taxes had been done right and that I had no loose ends is also indescribable. It feels fantastic to finally know that my financial affairs are in order and that I dont have to worry about my returns being rejected. I contacted Tom about some tax issues I am having. He was nice enough to listen to my situation and let me know it wasnt a fit for them. Because I dont owe that much and am close to getting it paid off. He gave me some free advice and I really appreciate his integrity that he didnt try to offer a service I dont need. Tom and Dave and their team make taxes not only easy and stress-free, but actually fun. Tom and Dave are such warm, helpful, engaging personalities, who make the entire tax process seamless and approachable. They got me my maximum refund, making sure I understood the entire process and was comfortable the whole time, while always going to extra mile in service and care (smoothies and puppies!). So far so good. I just started working with Tom and I have to say I came to him with a mess and he has taken my nerves and the stress I have had with this and has made it feel 100 times better already. Like I said I just started working with him but my initial review so far is amazing and would recommend anyone with any kind of related problems to go straight to him. Tom tells you upfront no beating around the bush what the plan is and takes action and communication has been great. I owe this person so much and he definitely knows what he is doing. Any lower reviews you see have to be an issue with something other then what Tom is doing. I will follow up when all is said and done but had to write something in the mean time to show my appreciation so far.
