Im a dude with long hair so I get nervous going to these types of barbers (had some bad experiences with a different one in Boulder) but I got the best cut of my life here from Lindsey. She hooked it up looking literally perfect and was really nice. Never going anywhere else while I live here.

When you click on the Service Menu there are NO PRICES. You have to jump through some hoops by scrolling and manually finding the locations and selecting one before it finally shows you a price.I love their response: We have multiple links to our website on different platforms. Sure, let me stop using my phone and log onto my computer so I can google search your company and website. There is a location to include your website within the maps platform.

When I moved to Denver it took forever to find a legit barber, but now I’ve been coming here for years. Moses and his team are incredible at what they do and I’ve never been disappointed with their cuts. So glad they’re back open after the shutdown. They require masks and take all the social distancing precautions which makes me feel comfortable.Never had a scheduling issue like some other reviews suggest. Sounds like user error.If you want a professional cut and experience this is your place!!!

Been going here for years, so I got my 5-year-old a cut for school pictures. My wife showed up with him at 2:58 for a 2:55 appointment. She was told they were too late and thus their appointment was canceled. She literally rushed over after school, bringing our 2 kids along, and then this happens. Terrible service. No communication. Then she said they were rude to HER about it. No phone number to call to discuss with a manager. I even warned them we might be a few minutes late in my notes when booking the appointment, yet she was only 3 minutes late. Ive had many good haircuts and have loved the person I see there. But this is pretty low and I will see if they take ownership for their mistake.They say that they canceled b/c I mentioned in the appointment we would be late. When i booked I said we MIGHT be running late. If that was a problem, why not cancel then (I booked appointment days before). Instead, day of I got a text day of CONFIRMING my appointment. I am now (days later) seeing that 3 mins later a similar automated text that looked exactly the same said it was canceled. I did not see that b/c the text looked EXACTLY the same and was 3 mins later than the confirmation text which I did see. The cancelation text had zero context. Not like sorry, I have a busy schedule and if you are late I cannot make it work if you are late. Terrible customer service. Terrible communication. Their response below is absolutely bull. They say my wife was over 15 minutes late. They are wrong. Appointment was at 2:55. She was there at 2:58. She called me nearly in tears back at the car at 3:01. By 6 minutes after the appointment she was in tears and refused to go back. I tried to call Steel and Lather but guess what, no number to call!The story is simply this: A mom with 2 kids were 3 minutes late to an appointment that they state they allow you to be 15 minutes late for, and they turned her away AT THE DOOR. They have yet to own that. Disappointing b/c I have loved Moses and would recommend him and go back to him - great guy.

I personally dont come to this salon as a client but my husband does. This place was recommended by an ex-coworker whom had an amazingly sculpted beard and always a nice haircut. Girlfriend loves it, get plenty of compliments on my fresh cut from co-workers, cant go wrong with this crew.Also, the place in general has a great vibe. Last time I went in we (3 clients, 3 barbers) all had a glass of whiskey and chatted about music, life, whatever. It was a great time.

This place is the best. Freddie does my hair/beard and ever since I started coming here, I literally get complimented DAILY on how good my hair and beard look. They provide free refreshments for their customers and I highly recommend making an appointment because theyre almost always booked (thats a good sign). Had an issue where their scheduling system charged me for an appointment cancelled a week in advance(well within their cancellation window). Tried to resolve it with the owner who was extremely dismissive, rude and unhelpful. In the end I had to have my CC company issue a chargeback against the business to get my money refunded.I understand that accidents and mistakes happen but the owners response was extremely unprofessional.

Great staff at Steel & Lather! I have been going there for over two years and just last year moved to their new location in CapHill. Moses cuts my hair and is very professional. Knows how to build rapport and always gives me the perfect haircut. I dont need to tell him how I want my haircut anymore and he recommends great hair products. I highly recommend this shop. Plan ahead and make your appointment via their easy to use square appointment system.

High recommend! I had an appointment here, but the person I booked with had an emergency and had to call out. I really needed a neck taper and clean-up. Sean was extremely accommodating and helped me even though he had a full schedule already . He did a great job as well— clearly very talented.

I tried this place for the first time yesterday and was happy to see that a new barber shop opened up in the neighborhood. Michael gave me an awesome haircut and was very precise. Im tired of barbers being rushed and sloppy, but Michael was able to give a great haircut quickly and efficiently. The price was also right. Great new shop in Capital Hill! Janet is terrific and gave me a great haircut. Lots going on in the area right now, and the shop is a bit hidden in the hustle and bustle, but well worth the short search to find it. And you get a complimentary beer as a nice extra!

Really nice staff and cool place. But I expressed that I was growing my hair out to push it back but wanted it cleaned up for a wedding. He gave me an undercut cutting most of the hair off. He had the best intentions and It looks fine. Just not what I wanted or asked for. Set me back a couple months of growing.

Staff was super uppity and couldnt answer basic questions. The questions were about the products and tools used which made me really uncomfortable about cutting my hair here. Not to mention they said they were too busy and refered me to their other shop but no information about where it was or how to book an appointment. If you care about customer services I wouldnt recommend coming here.
