As an individual that knows next to nothing about the inner workings of a car engine I have to rely on Jerry and his crew from Tommys to keep my car running and in great shape. They have never let me down. My latest repair required an overnight stay which meant that I needed to keep the loaner car overnight. It was not an issue. They are so accommodating I couldnt recommend them more.

I recently took both our vehicles in for oil changes. Appointments were made for both and each time there was no waiting getting my truck and car in per my appointment time. They were ready to get them in for service. Very professional and friendly and Jerry made you feel like a person and not a number. We brought in my partners severely neglected 2012 Ford Mustang for an overheating issue. They went above and beyond and checked everything else too. We ended up fixing a lot of other things and it was done before I even had time to get a ride back up there haha! There’s some other suspension stuff that was on the list and I will definitely be bringing it back when I get a little extra money again. I have family in the area that recommended this place and I am glad I brought the car here. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Got two new wheel bearings here and got a great price. I could tell they thoroughly did an inspection of what I needed and they were always knowledgeable about my car. I got shuttle rides back and forth to my house, with polite drivers -- and I barely had to wait. Whats more: I could tell that the folks who work there get along, and seem to be tickled to work there. If your employees are happy, that tells a lot about a company. I had an issue with my tire just a few days before my scheduled oil change. The guys worked me in, fixed my tire and got me on my way. On oil change day, I heard another customer on the phone telling someone he couldn’t believe the level of service he was getting. He’d never had any service tech take him back and show him what they were doing. That above and beyond kind of service is what you get with Tommy’s.

Decided to do timing belt and water pump on my wife’s 2004 Mazda Miata that we have owned new,car is garage kept and has only 75813 miles or say 4500 miles a year. Car has never given us a day of trouble.My wife drives the car home on Friday. On Sunday I was home from work and took it for a test drive it ran rough rpms went from 500 to 1500 ? And check engine light is on. So ask her did you not think something was wrong ? She said that remember when Tommy’s did our van motor mounts and timing belt and car was not as smooth as the past years we owned it, we were told motor mounts would loosen up. She brought car back and asked mechanic what was up he told her motor mounts and grabbed the engine to wiggle it back and forth my wife said. I called back later and to make this all fit in this told O2 sensor and catalytic converter. I grew upset with the mechanic I was speaking with and he said was done with me and had me finish with shop mgr Jerry who also got upset with me when he tried to tell me other things were wrong and it was a coincidence and a story of his car and how this happened… guess what was wrong timing was off by two teeth and I should have let them put in all those new parts.Also luck that this is a non interference engine or there could have been damage to the engine.What happened to Tommy’s did no one test drive this car after the repair? And man up when you were wrong instead of being rude to the customer who saved you from replacing unnecessary parts.

Would not recommend going to this shop, mechanic was dishonest not only about the repairs needed but also the cost of the repairs even if I did need them. Would definitely recommend going to another shop for a second opinion if you visit Tommy’s and they quote you with a hefty repair. We need mechanics not salesmen.

Consistency is key no matter where you receive a service. The thing I like about Tommys is that every time I take my SUV in for service, I always receive the same consistent, professional customer service. Im always treated respectfully. They always take the time to explain all the details. The last time I had a scheduled service, I had to change the time at the last minute. Tommys was accommodating and there was no issue-just good high quality service.

I give this place two stars because everyone upfront was awesome. Couldnt ask for better customer serice.But the reason for lack of stars is because their Technicians do not seem honest to them or to the customer. I took my car for an alignment. I literally built this entire car myself. From the Suspension it sits on, to the Transmission, and the engine. Everything the tech has to touch... I put it on the car. And everything is the way it is based off calculations I crunched myself. I dropped it off for a custom alignment. Something I can do myself but I want it put into spec by a Laser Alignment machine. I told the representative that I am the person who put this entire car together. These guys call me whilst Im at work to tell me that This is going to take 5 hours(Half the day) to do. He has to take off a sleeve on the tie rod and the ride height has the coilover hitting the boot. I told him on the phone that NOTHING they had to do should take more than 2hrs. So he said that I could come take a look at what the tech was talking about. So I took off from work(which is now hurting my time from Richardson to Denton) to come look at what this guy is possibly going to need 5hrs for. They take me in the shop and I meet an older tech. And he goes over what he thinks he going to take 5hrs. Because of how deep the camber angle and the toe angle being so wide on the passenger side. He said that he thinks Tie Rod sleeve needs to be taken off. Or it needs to be cut. Im like no sir, that tie rod is specifically designed with enough thread to go shorter than the OEM length to make up for the struts being pushed backwards for camber He said Well I cant even get a reading because its so far out the machine cant even pick that up. Thats time consuming im like No you just adjust it until its visually back into spec... You literally just turn a knob to bring it back over And hes like Well its not that easy its really time consuming to get it into spec Im like its going to be like any other MacPherson strut I dont see what you are saying is going to take 5hrs to do. I told him I could drop the subframe and drop the transmission in 2 hours he says Well I dont work for free, 2hours I wouldnt touch it and after that the conversation was over and I went back front and they got the car off the rack. So now at this point. My time is wasted because I have to drive back to Richardson to work. Then have to inconvenience a friend to come help me pick up my car that STILL has unsafe wheel angles. My guess is this guy saw an expensive coilover system that cost upward of $3k and wanted more money out of me. Im sorry, I do not pay $500 dollars for something I can do in my sleep while sleep walking. I literally took it home that night. Yes the angle did get deeper because I didnt tighten down enough. It took me all of 15minutes to drop my strut and fix and torque them down tighter. This brought the camber angle closer to 0 and the Toe back closer to 0 as well since the strut arm wasnt pulling the steering angle inward anymore. Ive heard of technicians trying to work over people who dont know anything about cars but... to work over the guy who built the car? Cmon I guess I will pull out the strings and spend another 30mins-1hr to straighten out the toe so it can drive straight to another shop with a laser alignment machine and more honest techs. I will post pictures of all that has to be touched in order for the tech to do alignment on my car so everyone else can see how easy it is. Spin the metal rod in first picture to adjust my Toe angle. The direction you spin pushes it in or out. Then the screws on the gold plate change my camber you just loosen them and push it backwards and forwards. The screws on the black plate adjust my caster. Just loose them and push side to side. Then the camber bolt you just loose the nut and spin the beveled bolt inside that will adjust my camber within a -1.75 to 1.75 range. Thats it! I would of been a monthly reoccurring revenue because I track the car.

I switched from another independent car repair company in Denton over five years ago. Tommys has always been thorough, but has never tried to get authorization for unnecessary work. They give me an accurate evaluation of the cars condition and what needs immediate repair and what can wait awhile if I wish. Always satisfied with the results. I trust my 1995 Prelude (and two Fords) to them exclusively.

Very impressed with Tommy’s! Friendly staff, nice clean waiting rooms offering coffee and soda, and they will even give you a free ride home if your car will take longer than you’d like to wait. The service here was superb prior to covid, now it seems the mechanics have lost all passion for their work. They grab customers hearts and positive reviews by offering concierge service and tbh I can do without the smell of a newport cigarette in my car once it has been dropped off. If you want quality work with honest quotes, find a different shop. You will not find the service Tommys Hi Tech was once known for.

Its true, not all heroes wear capes. These guys saved the day. Traveling from Colorado to Florida, truck started running rough, and my check engine light started to flash. Pulled off the highway and went to the closest place that was still open. Pulled in at 5:35 PM and they closed at 6:00PM. I had my wife in the car and both of my dogs in the backseat. They could have easily taken the easy road and told me I needed to stay overnight and theyll look at it tomorrow. However, they understood and were compassionate about our situation. They diagnosed a cylinder misfire, went and grabbed the parts, swapped out a spark plug and coil pack. They stayed 45 minutes past closing time to ensure we could get back on the road safely. Im happily typing this from FL as we were able to safely continue our journey. They are heroes and provided the best five star experience possible. Highly, highly, highly recommend!

Tommys has done excellent work on our two cars. They are very good at explaining what needs to be done and why. This is important to me since I am not very knowledgeable about cars. They even sent someone to my home to check out my car when it was not driveable.. I can highly recommend them.

This is a cut above the rest among auto repair shops. We were traveling out of State on a Friday morning, when we experienced an u expected engine problem. After pulling off the highway, we found Tommys, and are so glad we did. Even though we had no appointment, and they were fully booked, they took immediate Care of us after we explained we were on a road trip. The service is excellent, reasonably priced, and you can tell they care about providing a a great customer experience. They also made follow up calls after the service just to make sure everything was satisfactory. Its too bad they are so far from where we live, or they would certainly have my business for life.

I took my wife Lexus IS200t to Lexus Grapevine for an oil change and they said i needed a new water pump and they quoted me $1100. My uncle recommended I call Jerry over at Tommy Hi Tech. I gave Jerry a call and they were professional, set me an appointment, got my water pump and belts replaced and for more than half the price that Lexus wanted. Then they sent a courtesy car to pick me up. Great service and great people, i will make sure I take my next car issue to them.

I have used Tommys for over 2 years and would not consider taking our autos anywhere else. I recently had my pickup inspected for registration, I told the man upon check-in that I needed new wiper blades, I was in and out of Tommys in less than an hour. Great place to have your autos service, they do a outstanding job and are honest. These guys are my angels. Check engine light came on and I initially went to a repair shop in Roanoke where I had a terrible experience. They said that I needed my catalytic converter replaced and it would cost me a total of $1851 (This is after my car had been in their shop for a total of 4 days and I had already paid $350 before hand). In a panic, I googled and this gem popped up!So happy I found them, they were able to repair my car and figured out I only had to spend a FRACTION of the cost mentioned above. They are experienced and obviously know what they are doing. Trevor is also amazing at what he does and he communicated with me every step of the way. They even had a loaner available for me to use. Total time from car entering and exiting the shop=LESS THAN 24 HOURS!!!!. Do yourselves a favor and head on down there. Itll save you all the pain of car repairs. Wish I had gone to Tommys from the beginning. They have a lifetime customer in me!

I went here to have my fuel gauge wiring repaired. There was some wire/pigtail issues that had to be repaired. I asked what the diagnostic charge was. The gentleman checking me in told me it was a bit over $100.00. (which is not unreasonable by todays industry standards). I asked just to confirm that the diagnostic charge would be rolled towards the repair charge. I was told NO and that all shops charge the diagnostic time in one way or another. THIS IS NOT TRUE or in line with the industry standard! I worked in the auto/agricultural repair industry for many years before changing occupations. I know this fact first hand!I was given an estimate of $528.00 which included the repair AND the diagnostic fee to repair a few wires and connector. Out of convenience I agreed to have the repair done. I should not have agreed to have the repair done here as this is one of only two repair shops I have ever been to in the 5 states I have lived in that charge you the diagnostic fee even if you agree to have the repair done.To be clear, the way most all shops operate (even dealers!) is if you agree to have the repair done, they roll the diagnostic charge TOWARDS the cost of the repair. If not, you pay the diagnostic charge for the shops time to diagnose. NOT BOTH!The work that was done I have not had any issues with but I will not go back to this shop because of the outrageous price gouging. I spoke with two other shops within a few miles of this one. I told them what was found, asked what they would charge for the repair and if they charge both the diagnostic AND repair charge. Neither of them charge both as well as I was given estimates of around HALF of what I was charged here.If you go here, be sure to get a second (or even third) opinion before agreeing to have the repair done here. It will save you hundreds!

We started coming here because the Firestone takes way too long to do even an oil change. Havent regretted it once. We had severe damage to my wifes cars starter cable. They had her in a loaner that day and had it fixed as quoted. Very professional and clean.

Took my car in for a ac service and tune up price was great and services performed on time and nothing added that I didnt need. The real review was we took my daughters car in the Dealer told her $2k to fix her A/C that wasnt working.. Tommys tested everything and recharged with R134 for a cost of $88 and put die in to check for leaks... 1 month later no leaks and AC worked perfect. They even repaired a rear window (needed lube) at no charge. Best Mechanic shop in town fast and reliable.

We have been using Tommys for maintenance on our Toyota car and Ford truck since moving to Denton a year ago. We have always found them to be knowledgeable and helpful. The repairs and maintenance have been completed on time and well. In the single case where there was an issue with the repair, Tommys quickly resolved the problem at no added cost to us. It matters to us that we have a reliable and trusted shop for our cars, and Tommys has been great.

This is by far the BEST experience I’ve had with an auto repair shop, and I even felt the need to get on here and write a review. My car needed quite a few things done as well as a state inspection, and Jason took the time to answer a million questions, walk me through what I could pace out if I needed, and ensure I got the best deal I could while still driving out with a much better quality car than I started with. They have payment plans available, a shuttle service, and loan cars if you need it.Great guys that work here, and I’m telling everyone to go here now!

From the name I thought I could bring my car in and leave in an autobot/power ranges type thing.INSTEAD: They treated my vehicle with the utmost care, got me up to snuff on the future work it might need, and at a responsible price.

Friendly yet professional service. They were quick and accurate. Went there because my car had issues with brakes. Later realized that it needs brake pads, rotor and caliper done. Their estimation was expensive than others, yet they were quick professional.

And I was able to pick up my car at nearly the exact time that they said it would be ready by, which was great because I kind of needed to go to work tomorrow.*5* quality of service today though.**Will be updated when I have the time to get repairs done. **∆took me awhile to be free for update above9/29/20---Currently under a to be edited, I did reach out to the reply on 9/29/20. It may be a bit as the next 2 weeks I cant really detach from my vehicle.----Original review below ----1*I took my car there to get the AC working consistently again.( I explained the issue prior to dropping off the car to see if they could even have the capabilities to fix it) It works exactly the same as it did before I took it to wear my AC would blow cold for a little bit and then neutral temperature air and then cold again. So I paid about $200 to still have the exact same problem as before. They day it was fixed they called me up and said something like yeah, it blowing cold air again. Well, had I sat there and thought it through, like yeah blew cold air before just not all the time. They didnt find any leaks in my system, although I had the service ports replaced which they suggested. Just because my own personal paranoia of well they fixed this issue but I didnt get this done, so technically its not their problem. But I got the service ports serviced just to rule out that issue. Im just really annoyed that basically nothing has been accomplished, like they get paid to do a diagnostic which is where you find the problem. And then they dont fix the problem but they charge you for it. Im about the same boat as I was before, like yeah this part is definitely not the issue but I dont know about the condition of the rest of your boat, without having you boat again to see if we can find the issue. So, what was the point of the initial diagnostic if thats the case? I might have well have taken it to my nextdoor neighbors place had him keep the car, tell me he fixed the issue and the AC is cold again and paid him to find out like ohh yeah it is cold, for awhile... just as before.The office guy was nice though, place looked clean. It kinda sucks writing this review, but this is my experience and thoughts.

This business lied to me regarding my cars a/c and charged me a $120 diagnostic fee. I took my car to 2 other mechanics who repair a/c in cars and they claimed not nearly as many problems were wrong with my cars a/c as what Tommys was saying. They also didnt charge me a diagnostic fee. The TWO other mechanics said it would NOT be more than a $750 fix whereas Tommys tried to charge me in the thousands range (nearly $2,000). My compressor had gone bad and my clutch needed to be replaced whereas Tommys gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be fixed. I wont be going back. My a/c works amazing now and has for a few weeks. Im so glad I got a second opinion. My second opinion even offered to use a hydraulic lift to show me the uv dye test and all the work they did on my car. The mechanic I used to fix my a/c said this place was shady and just trying to make some extra money. Avoid this place unless you want to pay for work that doesnt need to be done! I had to drive a ways to my dads mechanic who is like family and we know he does good/honest work. I know my car is in good hands going out to his shop I wont use this shop anymore. What a shame I even gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Just so people know, they charged a customer to remove an oil pan on a chevy cruze and to clean it of sludge, the vehicle was brought to me to repair and it was very clear to me and the customer that they never did the work they listed on the invoice and charged nearly $800 for work they never did. They did man up and apologize to the customer and refunded some money, but had they not been called out on it they would have ripped this customer off and gotten away with it.Use caution if you use them, ask lots of questions and have them prove they actually did the work they say they did. I dont trust them at all, and thanks to them its gained my business a lot of work.

Clean and friendly workers-- I have been going to Tommys for several years now and wouldnt go to anyone else. They may be a little highter but I trust them and if you dont like something then talk with them they want bite and are easy to talk too. they garintee all of their work. They will take you home are pick you up, everyone doesnt do that service.TOMMYS is the best.Honest people working there.

Can’t ask for better. They are pretty pricey, so the only way I can go is if I have a coupon. But I don’t want to knock a star off cause I’m broke, the service is 5 stars. You wanna get in, get out, and if need be, and you have to stay there, they do their best to make sure you feel at home with snacks and drinks, etc. pretty dope, I just need to make more money to afford them. Or look for more coupons. I wouldn’t be a customer without them.
