Came in today for an emergency evaluation. Spoke with someone on the phone yesterday who said I could come in, see a psychiatrist, and get back on my medication. After waiting for 2 hours I was told that there is no open appointment today. I then asked for a referral somewhere else as it is an emergency and i want to end it all. This lady tells me to go see a doctor at the other building. I get to the other building AND THERE IS NO DOCTORS IT IS A FINANCIAL AID DEPARTMENT. I hope you’re happy having my blood on your hands lady. Because it’s your fault AND YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT FOREVER.

I wish I knew where I was going with this conversation but it’s really and inconvenience to come here. I need somebody to talk to often and I’ve been trying to get help but they only offer ways to cope and that’s just awful. I wish I could give zero stars. Lady on the phone was very rude, wouldn’t give me her name, wouldn’t let me speak, and hung up before i got the chance to respond. For a place meant for healing, they need to get better trained staff!A loved one of mine is being forced to stay here off of something a nurse claimed they said on a phone call with me that was never said or brought up once. They now have to be forced to stay throughout the weekend since they do not allow discharges on those days. They treat the patients like animals and lie to get longer stays from from patients which equals more money. This is malpractice! If you or a loved one is seeking treatment DO NOT go here. It will not help, only hurt.

I said no because I didnt see the point Im only here for a follow-up I told the lady. So she sets me to see a guy I believe his name was Arnaldo he spoke with me for a few minutes before I knew he said I wasnt taking my meds. The only good thing about this place is that they take all insurances so no worries there.the food while there is bland and tasteless but not like were there for the food. for the days you sit in a room with chairs, a tv on the wall behind a protector. few puzzles and coloring sheets along with a very nasty deck of Uno cards. it took them a 1.5 days till i saw a doctor. then 1 more visit over a video call. no group therapy sessions, no really seeing or talking to anyone about your problems while there. its literally6am vitals8 am breakfastthen snackthen lunch around 12/1pmsnackdinner around 6 or 7another snackand lights out by 10:30and by the 3rd day i was out with meds that would later make my legs swell up no matter the amount or lack of salt in my diet.i have had many problems with my mental health so physically talking to anyone to make an appointment is super hard. try calling your whole insurance listing to have all of them say they dont take your insurance anymore. but there still on the list.my mom wants to help by setting the appointment but they wont let her, they say im to old for my mom to help., yet they call her phone for my appointment with the main doctor not my own phone.oo and during one appointment I wanted an explanation of why i was taking meds for something I was never diagnosed with, along with why i was taking anti depressants for sleep. all the doctor could tell me was do you want meds or not we only have 15 min allotted for all my appointments i understand that covid had thrown things off, but a simple explanation of why, for a med should never be out of the question.

While its name may evoke apprehensive feelings, the people that work there more than disarm any concerns one may have about frequenting such a facility. The front-house staff help facilitate navigation from one department to another while the resident clinicians are by-and-large expert in their field. Similar to a hospital, the Center offers in-patient and out-patient service, which makes for a smooth transition for varying levels of health. The front-desk lounge has plenty of reading material to keep its patients engaged while the hallways are teeming with Case Coordinators ready to assist people of all ages. Dr. Mark Sipe will have you breathing a sigh of relief as he carries a cool, calm demeanor while properly diagnosing your symptoms and offering medical assistance. Giving it a 4-star rating would have seemingly sufficed, though with the added convenience factor of an in-house pharmacy, I felt it appropriate to put the icing on the cake, so to speak. If you have the opportunity to choose a Case Coordinator upon your visit, I would personally recommend Melissa Hadley, who, alongside ACT/ICM supervisor Kristina Lance, make quite a stellar implementation team. Soon enough, you will begin to feel like you are in a family environment; they treat their patients like REAL human beings with REAL emotions and understand ones inherent need to feel like an accepted member of the community. As such, they will work with you to make sure that you are en route to achieving a balance between work and play by offering government-subsidized adult continuing education as well as employment outreach programs.Personally, I found that they really take the time to invest themselves in my care by going above and beyond the just take a pill and chill approach. During their occasional house visits, the care team have worked with me to ensure that I am becoming more well-adjusted to my surroundings, and for a Florida newcomer such as myself I deem it something of priceless value; who else do YOU know who comes to your house making genuine inquiries about your personal life, offering realistic solutions?

Half of the walls are covered in mold, the showers are unsanitary and the interior of the building make you more miserable. I went in here with a blind eye but never again, how is this place even functioning? Food was extremely inedible, place was extremely cold, VERY uncomfortable bedding and lounging area for patients, most of the staff were rude or childish. This place is fantastic. Privately funded and by donations. Give the staff a smile and ya always get one back. Its true if youre looking for an upscale detox/mental health clinic, this is not it. However, if you are low or no income and it comes down to needing an emergency place that takes Medicaid, and have small payments based on income, (my visits cost me $13.00), they have their own pharmacy, do not prescribe narcotics, and again, meds are income based. My $1600 per month pills, cost me $40 a month. When my prescription changed and I was able to stay voluntary to make sure I adjusted to them OK. I wasnt rushed and saw my Doc everyday. If you can, this place is well worth a donation of any kind.Im sure volunteers and med students would be welcomed as well.

I eventually was told they would have a supervisor talk to me about it but that never happened. They never so anything unless reminded multiple times but will get annoyed that they have to do things for patients(like laundry.mine never got done although I was told it was being done) Even though I never demanded or rushed any staff, the day I left a staff member told my dad I was demanding what I wanted be done right away. They try to force the patients to take unnecessary medication that they will prescribe you without telling you. If you ask why it was prescribed the staff will say their could be a variety of reasons. If you ask what it does they dont give a straight answer. The doctors are also ignorant and threatening. This is a horrible place to get mental health help.

So for the very most part I felt the staff had compassion and kindness and Knowledge. Thank God when u r dealing with a loved one and u don’t know how to Navigate the waters so to speak. My brother had a psychotic break. It was devastating. I had the only misfortune of a social worker “Amy” who kept me from talking to my brothers doc at the time. She “shamed me” yelling that the medication my brother was on were “extremely addictive” and “did I know that!?!” Meanwhile the meds that he was prescribed were the Same exact medication she kept telling me was so horrible. Just a different name/generic. She was loving the fact that she felt she had some kind of power not letting me talk or try to explain my fear was my brother was not ready toB released as he was still hearing voices and was NOT stable. She had no compassion and did not want to hear that I was telling her all the other meds my brother had been on. My fears. And my knowledge that my brother was not ready to be released. She then said straight up maybe my brother was angry at me because I didn’t come and get him out because I felt he wasn’t stable. He was still hearing voices and she told me that was ok. He might always hear voices!!! He never did that before when his meds were stable!!!!!!!!! And once I got him that next day not only was he still having auditory hallucinations but he was Lying and Not taking his meds again!!! Exactly what I was trying to tell this woman. This Amy woman needs to b fired. Or at least not in the position of power that she seems to enjoy holding over family members. She may b sick herself. But please get this woman out.We met with a kind compassionate woman Phara who went over everything with grace kindness and time. Amy the SW hung upOn me more than twice saying “ I don’t have tome for you!!” It looks like my brother would b back in SCMH emergency again if we my family hadn’t finally found that I was correct that my brother was Not taking his meds again and lying to us Just like I Tried to tell Amy. Amy has no compassion or care for people and the families that go thru the heartbreak and try toNavigate a system they have no idea about.

The ones who arent kind or helpful definitely ruin everyones days unpurpose just to make their jobs easier. They refuse to change medicines of you are having bad reactions. Left hand doesnt talk to the right hand. They NEED MORE FUNDING & they need it yesterday. Need better food, need more staff, need better doctors. Seems like the doctors are volunteers or something and getting forced to do their jobs there as some kind of punishment. Thats just how i think it is by how they behave. But overall, whenever Im suicidal i go there. If it wasnt for this place and the staff, i would 110% have committed suicide many times over. I have severe brain damage from bullying in school and ruptured spinal discs so its extremely difficult coping in life with these disabilities.

She did all my paperwork for me and was talked to me like we were old friends. She has been there 14 years and you can tell she loves what she does. She got me an appointment same day and within 10 mins with Dr. Sham. Dr. Sham was thoughtful and very considerate of my diagnosis and went over detail over my treatment plan. In trying to assist a friend in crisis this week I called their hotline and the response I received was very disappointing. The female on the call was obviously eating her dinner and her loud chomping of her food was very distracting. Although they did not specialize in the particular situation my friend was experiencing she was unable to provide any resources that could. She told me she would do some additional research and call me back but never did. Need better training for staff as I could also hear the entire background conversation about Baker Acting a particular individual. Not good! I didnt give up trying to find my friend someone to talk to and was able to locate a crisis hotline in Massachusetts where someone was available to speak to my friend for almost an hour. Palm Beach County needs to take lessons from them. Although the mental health system in this country is marginal at best South County needs to enlist in additional training with individuals manning their crisis hotline. I really felt that I was bothering this individual during her dinner break. Shame on her! I gave a 2 star hoping that maybe she helped someone last Monday night.

I wish I could give this 0 stars they dont even deserve 1. This is a mediocre functioning center where people are just shuffling around and transferring you back and forth just so they can keep getting funding from the government. This is a mental health clinic and there are no pharmacists after hours. The lady on the phone basically said Id need to try to kill myself in order to be able to talk to a doctor. This is disgusting, when patients lapse on their medication, especially an anti depressant, the body acts the opposite in hopes that it will get what it needs. This is the only pharmacy that has caused me to lapse on my medication - twice. They need to be shut down. The doctors dont care, the therapist - the therapist I was seeing would constantly look at the clock and save terrible things. Again, theyre doing what they have to do to get their funding. If only the front desk woman Eva was a doctor. The pharmacy is even Im worse. They told me I could have my prescription filled elsewhere and gave me an Rx number and they also almost didnt refund me the money from when I originally filled it. But they said I could fill it somewhere else (did I mention this pharmacy closes at 5 m-f, you know when normal people get off of work) so I waited until the weekend to take it to a normal pharmacy that has weekend hours - you know because people might need their meds every single day, well every single pharmacy I called said that South County would have to call them to make the transfer. I called the mobile crisis which is like the emergency and the woman was nice at first then was just totally mean with no possible solutions, how is she even capable of working their. Mental health deals with your BRAIN! You cannot play around with peoples mental health. The last time I relapsed I ended up having to go inpatient because I was baker acted after lapsing for 3 days. Oh and I was impatient there so I got a nice little bill for 3,000 all because they couldnt be consistent with getting my medication to me. Luckily the medicine I take, I have it in 2 different doses so I can just double up, but now thats going to leave me short on it (I take 450 mg - they gave me my 150mg but its the 300mg I was missing, so instead of taking 1 of each I just took 3 150mg). This was my only choice as I didnt want to experience the deeply dark and dangerous feelings of being suicidal. Im supposed to be able to rely on my health care provider because its my health and it not a thing to take lightly. Keep everyone you know away from here if you really love them. This has deeply saddened me and now Ill be look for a way to get them shut down or at least have them checked out by the government in which they receive their funding. If you read this, thank you lol I know I wrote a lot, I just had to describe in great detail how atrocious this place is.

The staff in general were very nice and helpful considering the attitude of some of the patients, and the volume of patients they have to process daily - I will not leave a comment about a certain Doctor - enough said about what I thought of them in having me sign a blank paper about meds and filing it in later, like signing a blank contract and we will fill in the blanks later - very unethical. I was under the impression it was for the meds I was currently on - I was threatened I would be there forever if I did not take meds I knew I should not of been on by the Doctor mentioned above. I will not post her name out of privacy of records. My primary care physician even wonders why they had me on them. My polarized sunglasses got misplaced from a visitor not being allowed to give then to me - I called back and the staff even went to supervisor level to try and find them so I would not have to replace a $15 item. The staff I dealt with were very accommodating considering all the rules they had to follow just to try and locate them. They had no luck finding them, but did not ignore me.

The Drs rush the patients in very quickly and barely listen to what is going on and then tell you to come back in 2 weeks. When the patient is baker acted the drs dont talk to each other so the normal psychiatrist the patient is dealing with is not the same dr in the crisis unit. They do not talk to each other and almost killed my mother who is bipolar the last time she was admitted. Be very detailed with what you are needing and you will have to be persistent to get the correct help or care. This place has made a tough situation a little more manageable but could definitely do better and have better systems in place.

The WORST place to seek psychiatric treatment! Very unprofessional! If I could I would not award any stars! The receptionists and the supervisors are extremely RUDE they should not be working in this business.Heres my story! I was having suicidal thoughts, extreme anxiety, tiredness and shakiness due to the side effects of the medicine they put me on so I was advised to seek help in the morning as a walk in, I arrived at 8:45 am and waited till 11am, then they kept telling me I would have to keep waiting till someone was available to help me! I spoke to the supervisor named Eva who was the only person who was SORT OF helpful, she even was a little rude and advised me to come back at 12:45 for a 1 pm walk in, she said it would not be a long wait because they would be coming off from lunch and I would be the first walk in patient to be seen, unfortunately I was already on the way home, and it takes me almost 45 mins to get there, and I was extremely tired to drive another 45 mins back. So I did not go. My mother saw that I was very tired and not doing okay and was not happy with what was going on, so she called them. The receptionists do not answer the phone professionally, they dont care about their patients and keep putting you on hold, they also told us I was not there for 2 hours and I was only there for 3 mins. Incompetent people! So my mother spoke to the another supervisor named Jennifer, who was VERY rude, and explained that appointments come first and walk ins can take 10 mins to an all day wait even if your in an emergency situation, hmmm doesnt seem very helpful especially with the condition I was in. This is my mental health were talking about here not a cough and cold sickness.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE PERIOD!

Some of the staff are very nice people... But some of those who were dealing directly with me gave me the worst possible treatment in the times that I became mentally unstable at this facility. I remember being held in a choke hold and thrown on the ground having the frame of my glasses broken over attempting to call 911 from the phone were patients staying longer than a day are supposed to call relatives from, because they kept me longer than 3 days. I remember when the head nurse Melanie Spritz stuck out the middle finger at me for calling her Maam instead of doctor saying its a disrespect to her career. I remember her just talking down to me saying I was a masochist. In this facility I acted out extremely but it was because of a desperation to be discharged and extreme anxiety from my stay and previous stays at this facility, nonetheless I shouldnt have been treated so awfully at this facility, when someone is experiencing traumatic events or anything that may cause instability they need positive reinforcement not negative reinforcement. They gave me anti psychotic medicine that I had allergic reactions to and caused extreme memory loss for the time which i took it in one of my 3 stays in 2015. Overall this place is hell hole I advise anyone NOT to go here, and for family members to take their love ones any where else but here.
