Great facility. Plenty of machines with very little waiting. Shower stalls!!! With shower curtains!!! Outstanding

Recently started going to this location as I am new to the area. The cleanliness here leaves a lot to be desired. The ladies locker room is always dirty. The tanning beds are never cleaned. On a couple of instances, I have watched customer after customer go into the tanning room without anyone going in to clean the area between them. I have attempted to use the massage beds after my work outs a few times but after waiting at the front desk for assistance for awhile, I end up just leaving. While this location may be the closest to my residence, I likely won’t be going back there.

I am a member of Planet Fitness, and have been since April 29, 2021 when I registered my membership at the Dedham location. I have had friendly experiences at this location until recently.Planet Fitness emplyee who clamied to be a director of the Dedham location discriminated against me on July 12, 2021. She immediately welcomed me with an attitude and commented on my English accent. She refused to recognize me as a member of the Dedham location, and denied me access to the gym. She denied me access based on my race and accent.The Planet Fitness Manager Belezos Larissa of the Dedham location failed to honor my transfer from another Planet Fitness. When I first transferred my membership from the Jamaica Plain location to the Dedham location, the Planet Fitness staff were unable to complete the transfer. The staff instructed me to explain the situation to any Planet Fitness staff. Up until that day the staff had honored the transfer. I would show them proof of my Planet Fitness membership, and the staff would allow me in. The Planet Fitness Manager Belezos Larissa however did not even allow me to explain the situation, even when another staff member was ready to also explain the situation.I asked the Manager Belezos Larissa to explain to me why she would not check my membership status. She responded by yelling. Since she was not wearing a name tag, I asked for her name so that I could report the incident. She refused to give me her name. I called 911 and field a police report. Later when I pick the police report, I noticed her credential on the police report stated she is a manager and her name is Belezos Larissa.Based on this experience, I do not feel comfortable or safe to come to the Planet Fitness Dedham location. I recommend that Planet Fitness give a racial sensitivity training to their employees. All members should feel safe at any Planet Fitness facilities.

The staff is friendly, the mens room is fairly clean but my girlfriend tells me that the ladies room is not so clean. The upright bikes handlebars need tightening, been like that forever. One of the seats is torn. I like the place other than that.

Asked the manager to reinforce mask rule which he stated was applicable to ALL members and it entailed having the mask on over the mouth AND nose. He said he ll remind the members brielf walking around. Came here next day and literally saw him and another staff walk by members who had NO mask on or hanging them on their chins.

Dropped in for a week this week. Could not recommend this gym enough - coaches were great and super helpful, members were welcoming, and workouts were a great time.

Greedy business. They refuse to cancel the membership even after completing all the required actions. Stay away from them.

Terrible costumer service and unprofessional. First of all i do not agree with unfreezing everyones account during a pandemic without their consent. a lot of people do not want to risk their lives to workout. However i accept responsibility for not paying attention to when they reopened. When i realized i was charged the first month and the yearly, i contacted them using the how to cancel membership form in my account on august 9th. On august 10th the manager calls me and tells me to cancel in person or send a letter by mail as soon as possible in order to not be charged the next billing cycle. I immediately wrote a letter and mailed it to them. I log in to my account a few days later and the document receipt attached to my account says date requested august 13th, request effective august 14th, last bill date July 17th, last day to use club august 16th. I also noticed my account said pending cancel and my next payment due august 17th. I contacted them august 16th to make sure i wouldnt be charged and the lady i spoke to had no idea if i would be charged or why it was still pending. On August 17th, i was not surprised to see they charged me 19.99 and i called to speak to the manager. The manager said because they received the letter on the 13th and not the 12th (usually required by the 10th but special covid extension), they could charge me on the 17th for the new month. i asked why didnt you tell me that on the 10th when you contacted me? i would not have chosen to send a letter, i would have went in person instead. He replied i was trying to tell you that without being too detailed, but i gave you the gist of it, i apologize for not being more specific. Even though it was his poor communication, and bad instructions he refused to give me a refund and cancel my membership. I requested cancelation instructions on august 9th and i mailed the letter as instructed by the manager on august 10th, but he has declared it my fault and unforgivable that the letter arrived one day too late. My cancelation request letter clearly says i cannot workout during the pandemic because i have a low immune system. They still charged me knowing i cannot use the gym this month, and the document receipt on my account has not been fixed or updated. Right now my account still says cancel pending and that my next payment is due September 17th. It looks like they will probably charge me again next month and i will have to request a refund from these unprofessional, immoral thieves. Its a shame they decided to treat me this way because i was going to become a member again after the pandemic. I was willing to forgive the new $39 yearly charge that they decided to keep even though i wont be a member this year. However they chose to steal an extra $19.99 and it will cost them a lot more, considering all the future payments i was going to make when i rejoined.

I had a coworker yesterday arguing and yelling at me yesterday morning when I asked him to help me with a client who jumped on a machine I was using without asking to jump in. I asked for assistance and the coworker with the orange beard startedberating me. Putting his hands in my face and threatened to call the police. He did call the police. Told me I was trespassing and that I cannot come back there. I have been a great member for years. After this experience I am thinking of cancelling my my membership. I definitely want the coworker disciplined because there is no reason I should feel like a coworker is about to punch me. Is there someone I can contact about this clown trying to say I cannot go back to the gym.

I like it here. There’s A BUNCH of cardio equipment and a good amount of weights. The locker room and restroom are always clean when I go, so that’s a good sign.My only complaints are that the massage chairs are too rough and that there isn’t enough equipment to help you stretch.

Too many people at the weights. Maybe it was just a popular night/time? But was still able to use my favorite weight machine and got a good run.

It’s a nice gym but my biggest complaint is that I am paying 23 a month for the black card so I can use the hydro massage bed but what frustrates me the most is that it’s broken more than half the time. So when I go to use it I can’t or it breaks down half way through. So me paying an extra 15 for something that is broken is ridiculous. Most likely will downgrade to the 10$ a month.

They need to keep up with disinffecting on things people touch constantly. I see them come around changing the cleaning bottles and never see them clean down the paper dispensers or the opening of the trash cans. I have been there a couple times felt great coming in left sick for a few day. The staff is great but they should have stations where you can disinfect your hands

Planet fitness does not have free barbells or squat racks. Do not sign up if your are looking for a gym with extensive free weight equipment. However it is a good starter gym.

This Franchise is very unreasonable and their customer service is horrible!! After being in a car accident and unable to keep my membership they would not allow me to cancel! They charged me the annual fee after I told them I physically couldnt get into the location to fill out cancellation paperwork due to my accident and once I was able to get there they told me too bad, too sad I cant cancel.Just horrible that after a year of being a loyal customer I get into a life changing accident and they have no regards.

The service at this place is horrible!!! I went to pick up my stuff from the locker today and I found my lock broken with a post-it-note saying they had to break it to pick up another customer’s forgotten keys that I hadn’t of course noticed !!! When I went to the front desk to complain about leaving my stuff unlocked and unprotected, they said I should have checked whether there was anything left behind!!! First of all, the previous customer should have checked whether he had left any of his belongings behind!!! Second, the girl at the front desk should have made every effort to try and find me before breaking my lock and third and foremost instead of leaving me the aforementioned post-it she should have left another one stating for instance: sorry for the inconvenience, we had to break your lock to get some other customer’s keys but for your own protection we have taken your stuff to the front desk to keep them safe until you finish your exercise!!!!! That would be the appropriate thing to do showing they respect us and value our presence at the place which offers them job with our money!!!! Instead, she asked me if I would like to speak to the manager!!! Nooo I don’t want to speak to the manager!!! I want YOU to use your COMMON SENSE and protect our stuff!!! What if they had got stolen?!!! Who would compensate me?... Lousy behavior and lame excuses by people who don’t give a damn about us!!!!

Plenty of cardio - duh - and it all works, for the most part. Two sets of each dumbbell pair up to 75lb, so if thats not heavy enough for you, youre maybe not in the right place. No adjustable barbells, which is a pain for lifting heavy, and no fixed barbells over 60lb, but they have straight and easy curl bars every 10lb up to 60. There are plenty of plates and plenty of cable stations, and even some machines like the seated twist that really shouldnt be in any gym. The lack of total service is frustrating, but for $10 a month, its tough to expect more than you get. Im happy with the investment as an intermediate lifter living extremely close by.

How many bikes does a gym really need. PF seems to think half the floor should be nothing but bikes yet only 25 percent ever in use. get ride of half the bikes and add more stair climbers.

IM happy to say I signed up for the black card membership at this Dedham PF to help get back into shape. After much google searching gyms, I decided on Planet Fitness because of the cost, gym equipment available, location, and the extra classes ( a calender sheet was handed to me outlining all the fitness classes offered). So I signed up over the last weekend at this PF, paid my start up fee of $1 and prorated amt for the month of sept $20.ONLY THEN I find out that none of the fitness classes that are listed on Dedham PFs calendar are actually offered because there is no trainer. No answer as to when the classes would be available. So why was this important info given to me only after I paid for my membership? Why am I paying the same amt as members at other PF gyms who do have the classes available? Seeing as this is a gym offering services, if all the services are not available due to staffing issues, then shouldnt I be paying less? I feel like BAIT and SWITCH!

Its a great place to work out and do your own thing. Its always clean. The staff is friendly. If loud workout music isnt your thing, bring headphones.

The black ceiling and low lighting is a put off but the place is worth for the low cost membership they give

I love this gym, the staff is great, they are super nice and helpful, and its a great environment to work out in! Its big and there is a ton of equipment. There are a couple things that could be be improved- the wifi stops working if there are more than 20 people in the gym using it at a time (which is annoying when you are trying to listen to music). And there are 2-4 tvs out all of the time- the same 2 have been out for a few months and havent been fixed which is a bummer. Other than that is awesome!!!

This location is cleaner, bigger, and smells better than many of their others. I think you get what you pay for with this chain, but this location is much better than some others. It is never very crowded and there is so much cardio equipment that Ive always had what I needed. I dont think the showers & locker rooms are used much.

Very easy to join but ······they wont let you cancel your membership, they will continue to charge you even they promised you not to do so after receiving your cancellation request.

It is difficult to have an enjoyable work out there. The club plays music too loud. It is difficult to hear your own music or watch TV over theirs. On top of that, the music is crappy. It is for teenagers but over 95% of the members are adults.

Finally, Jazz the morning person is great!!!!! I have been going here for five years, and she is awesome! Keeps the place clean, and always has a smile for everyone!!!! Keep Her!!!!

Its a decent location. Been here a few times, but not my favorite location to go to. Customer service lacks here, the few times ive been here, the guy behind the desk is buried in his phone, not even bothering to look up to say hi pr even see if i scanned in lol last time i was there, the tanning bed was filthy...person before me failed to clean it and no employee bothered to check it after they finished. But everything else is good though, lots of cardio and weight machines.

VERY clean, doesnt smell bad, never jam packed with people, building is in a large strip mall (if you want food post-workout, Subway and other decent food places are right there), good neighborhood, easy to get to from I-95, $10/month. No complaints other than that there are no barbell freeweights available. If you want a luxury gym with everything a bodybuilder wants, look elsewhere. But if you just need a clean place to lift and do cardio after work for an insanely low price this is the place for you. Dont listen to the negative reviews.

Beware if this is not your home gym, black card peeps!! While the facilities are indeed superb and the gym is close to my office, Ill be hesitating to go back there after all the hassles I got from staff when I dropped by for an early-morning workout with my black card. I found out later from my home gym that they are quite hardline with their reciprocating policies.

Its a very clean facility you feel comfortable working out you will always find a machine to work out you dont have to wait for anything plus the hydroponic massage table is superb

Charged me late fees two months in a row when I did everything correctly on my part, told me I have to drive 40 minutes with a voided check to fix THEIR MISTAKE.Pretty unreasonable right?

I really enjoy the staff at PF dedham. Danielle and Arianna and everyone else are exceptionally welcoming. They always say hello and goodbye and they even have taken the time to remember my name. Everyone there does a great job in my opinion. A huge bonus is the free personal training from David. I have worked out a number of times with Dave and he always mixes things up and keeps it fresh while working me hard. Sometimes I use the PF in Medford and its a world of difference here, great job PF Dedham.

Do not join this awful facility. I gave them my banking information and they said there were no problems signing up. However the system charged me late fees for no reason. When I explained my case that the charges were indeed not my fault whatsoever they told me to come in to get it figured out. So i drove an hour to my home location just for them to tell me there is nothing they can do. Basically told me that I am wrong and that i will not be reinbursed for their mistake. I took the time to wrote this since I had to waste two hours of my day and still not have my money back.They will reply to this saying to call them and then tell me to come in make the hour drive just to tell me there is nothing they can do.Truly Awful i willl never in a million years recommend this trap scheme

Allow me to preface this rating with the fact that Im on a nationwide roadtrip and Ive already been to over 55 planet fitness locations across this nation in 26 states. This is the worst. Avoid at any cost and attempt to take your business anywhere else. It was dirty and lousy at best. They also had rules Ive never encountered at the other 55 locations. Stay far away if possible. Atrocious

Good place. Decent equipment but kinda small.

I wish I could rank this location lower than a star. I showed up at 7:05 am today thinking I was on time. The entrance was locked leaving at least a dozen members stranded. The closest location was Lower Mills and that was not an option for me. I waited till 7:28 am but no staff member was there to open the door. Did they eventually open? I cant tell. We know the subscription is one of the lowest but should that be an excuse for poor customer service? Clean up your act and stop wasting your customers time and resources to travel to your gym.

Ive been a member for more than 2 years ! I find this gym very well equipped. They keep adding new equipment. Could use some free weight barbells for the bench press and inclines. Also i like to do squats with free weight barbel . Staff is very friendly and helpful. Id recommend this gym to anyone who wants to get a great workout in no judgement environment. I love the way tv screens are located thru out the gym. There many tv channels for everyone and every taste. I personally like to watch sport channels and of course my favorite FOX NEWS!!!The ONLY HONEST news station in the country and the world!Also the parking is great!

Just got a complete facelift with new cardio, strength and new locker rooms. Amazing!
