A great place to bring your Honda or Acura for service. Locally owned and operated for 30+ years. These guys are honest, and will usually fix the issue in a day. Fast and good, but not cheap. Still, beats going to the dealership.

Walked in and no one was at the desk. After waiting for 10mins in the office, I opened the door to the shop and asked if anyone was around. Received a response and was told someone would be out to assist me in a moment. I waited politely for several more minutes until a man walked in and rudely asked me what I wanted. I thoroughly but concisely explained my circumstances and the man began discussing some possibilities of what the problem could be. When I wanted to ask a question and began to do so multiple times, the man kept interrupting me and insisting that he couldnt help me for at least another 5 days, during which he expected me to leave my car at the shop. I attempted to ask if I could just bring my car in on the day he could begin servicing it instead, but the man continued to interrupt me, misinterpret my history/needs, and insist that he couldnt help me and knew no one else in the area who could either, since mechanics have been booked up for quite while around town. At this point I concluded I no longer wanted to do business with Avondale Independent, I thanked him for his time, and drove 400ft down the street to Decatur Auto Tech where they were able to assist me same day for cheaper prices and with more professional care. I had a dismissive, disrespectful, and invalidating experience at Avondale independent and I racked my brain for ways I may have warranted the kind of service I received, but I am unable to conclude much aside from the belief that this business/man simply did not want to serve me at all. I truly do not understand how this shop has received as many positive reviews as it has and I do not plan to seek services from them any longer.

If you have a Honda or Accord, you should be going to Dave for service. I have 3 Hondas and send all of them to Avondale Independent for 20 years. From simple oil changes and routine Maintainence to major repairs- Great work, great prices, and no charging for repairs that arent really needed. I cant say enough good things about this team. Dave, Kelly & Nick are experts in their field.

We are Honda people so for the past 9 years our vehicles have recieved routine maintenance as well as repair services with Avondale Independent. The location is walking distance from the Avondale Marta station which allows me to keep my schedule without any major inconvenience. They always provide an estimate so were able to budget accordingly before greenlighting the work to be done. Also, they are always courteous and they do a great job with keeping us safely on the road. Id recommend them for all Honda owners.

Friendly, honest, good communication. I went in for an oil change. They fixed my oil set up (which was kinda messed up) and let me know of other small things that needed to be fixed with my car. They didnt fix anything without asking, and they are helping me to find the best price on the other parts I do need repaired. Ill definitely be coming back.

Ive been relying on Avondale Independent Honda for nearly 20 years, and I think they had already been there for a decade or more when I first started going. Originally they took care of a 93 Honda Civic that only died in 2013 with more than 220,000 miles because of an accident, and if it hadnt been for that, I might still have it.This is a small family business. The younger people who work there are the sons and daughters of the easy-going silver-haired gent that runs the place. The kids you sometimes see there when schools are out are the next generation.These are people you can trust -- on everything from how to keep a 20-year-old Honda running to the latest news and history of Avondale.No, they dont do the replacement of the recalled airbags because the manufacturers give all that business to their own dealers, but for everything else, come here.They do all kinds of cars, of course, but especially if you have an older Honda, this is *the* place to go. The kind of continuity and experience they have here is hard to match, and you get the added good karma of boosting a local family, rather than some big corporation or absentee owner.I wish I could give them more than five stars.

After waiting and speaking with a tech I proceeded to deliver a vehicle. Another tech came out with super negative vibes assuming I was dropping a customers car at the wrong place and then rushing me after I tried to show him info.. How bout you do YOUR job..I got this part!

My emission check light came on. I have only used Independent Honda twice for oil changes only....secondary to their pricing. Regardless, I on the advice of the Honda mechanic I have used for the past six years, spoke with his staff and was encouraged to go to an Auto Zone in the area I currently reside, and they would assist with diagnosis....and they did....knock valve sensor.Called Kelly, as I need to establish locally instead of going to SC for service. She was not satisfied with AZ diagnosis and wished to evaluate with their equipment.Long story shortened...I drove to SC only to be told that when my oil was changed recently, someone carelessly punctured the sensor. Guess who did oil change?I will continue to drive from Decatur to Greenville. When you find a good mechanic stay with them. He suggested I request an in shop credit and show them the part and charges. It occurred probably when they placed a new air filter with oil change...sloppy work!!!! I wont even allow them to change my oil.Good luck to their customers !!!Beware newbies!

I originally went here to have my knock sensor replace these guys went above and beyond to see to it that all the other things they seen wrong with my vehicle were fixed. Its so hard to find loyalty these days everybody is out to rip you off. NOT these guys I am so thankful to them for their good service. They will continue getting my business without a doubt. They do great work. Better prices than what the dealerships charge. Yes, they can perform all of the manufacturers scheduled maintenance. Turn-around time is quicker than the dealerships.They work only in Hondas and Acuras so theyre experts.TIP: Theyre within walking distance of the Avondale MARTA station (theyll give you a lift to the station if you prefer) so getting home and back to them is easy if you live near MARTA.

They got me in at last minute before I left on a road trip: Changed oil, checked tire pressure and went over the whole car to make sure I was safe on the road. I really appreciate them!

My wifes Acura had a problem and the people at Avondale Independent were able to quickly rule out a number of expensive issues. There were no attempts at upsells for things I did not need. They even pointed out a few things that I should have the dealer look at to see if they were covered under warranty. They did not have to do that and could have charged me to make those repairs themselves. I will definitely bring the car back here in the future.

After purchasing a used CR-V as is, we wanted a general inspection to make sure everything was alright. We noticed an issue while turning, and wanted to get it fixed.I called A.I. yesterday to set up an appointment, and spoke with Kelly. I told her what our needs were, and also described the turning issue. She agreed on my thoughts, and quoted a repair price for the potential repairs. It was understood that if it turned out to be something else, I would be notified and advised of cost.After being over an hour late to my appointment this morning Thanks to traffic, A.I. was still able to take my car in and begin work. I was extremely grateful for this kindness.Shortly after lunch, I received a call with a status update. The repair discussed was the one needed, however everything else checked out fine. It would still be the price originally quoted, and theyd get started ASAP.To my amazement, less than two hours later I get another call saying the job was done, to feel free to pop by to pick it up. I did not expect for them to finish it the same day, especially as I was so late getting there to begin with.The service provided to me by Kelly & her family was extraordinary. Their business has been around for a long time, so theyre obviously doing something right. Im relieved to have found a reliable & efficient mechanic. You gave us a wonderful new sense of trust in our used vehicle.Thank you again so much. Were grateful to have been lucky enough to find and come to yall first. For as long as we own our Honda, well always come back for all our needs!!

I bought Acura from one lady who brought this car to Avondale Independent regularly, after three months since I bought it, I took it for oil change and they looked the previous owners record and switched all records to my name, that was awesome. They are very friendly and cooperative and I recommend their services to my friends who has Honda and Acura.

I recently brought my 2010 Honda Civic to Avondale Independent with what I suspected was a bad Alternator. I showed up at 5pm after work and they still took the time to troubleshoot the issue and confirmed that it was indeed the Alternator. They did the repairs quickly and I had my car back the next afternoon.The total cost for parts and labor: $567.99When you call Avondale Independent, youll probably get Kelly on the line. Shes incredibly knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Shes not hard on the eyes either, but dont be going and getting any ideas fellas. I took my car there about a month ago for what i thought was transmission trouble. These guys could have taken me to the clearners if they would have replaced the transmission. but they didnt because that wasnt the problem. I had a broken cv axel and they fixed it at the price they said and by the next day. Funny story...I didnt expect them to have it done as quickly so i rode marta for an extra day cause i thought there was no way they would get it done that quickly haha. Luckly i call about a question:) Use this shop if you have problems with you honda or acura. I have a 97 integra. This is a great local business to support.
