Just like to give a great thumbs up to Munich West. Mike and staff were great. I had some major issues with a rodent wrecking havoc with my engine belts on my 2003 M5. Long story short they did an excellent job getting it right and it’s back running perfect. I know they spent many more hours on it then they billed me for and I appreciate that. I’m sure the dealership price would have been double or more. Thanks again Mike. I’ll be back.

I rarely write reviews, but I have to give Munich West 5 stars for great customer service and honesty!A couple weeks ago I took my car in to the dealer for a recall and they found an oil leak during the courtesy inspection. I brought it in to my regular mechanic for a second opinion - they confirmed the leak and gave me a quote that was more than $100 higher than the dealer.I started looking for a better price and found Munich West. Steve gave me an estimate over the phone which beat out both the dealer and my regular mechanic by 10-20%. When I brought my car in, they inspected it and found that the leak was barely seeping. Steve called me to recommend that he put a note in my file and monitor it the next time I come in.While they may not have billed a repair today, they gained a new regular customer!

Weve been using Munich West for several years and are very happy with the service weve received for our 2 BMWs. They are extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy and we highly recommend this business!

I generally dont like to write reviews over things that take a long time to truly know what level of service was provided to you. Ive taken in my 2005 Saab 9-3 to them twice in 3 years for regular scheduled major service.PRICE: They are head and shoulders above the dealership on price. The quality of work is fine. My latest visit I also needed them to install a new rear quarter panel lens, of which I was only charged a fraction of an hour for labor (i supplied the part). No gimmicks.SERVICE: My first visit with them I believe did take a few days to do, but I prepared myself for that. Sometimes you just need to ask the right questions ahead of time so YOU are the customer are prepared and informed, which is what should always be required of the customer. For, the most recent visit last month, I had to go out of town so I dropped off my car for the WEEK and Steve happily arranged for a ride to the metro to get me to the airport. Great service. Free parking also! :) Some older reviews paint Steve as a terrible provider of customer service, but I found him to be a good guy, albeit a little straightforward. He did let me know up front what he would and wouldnt be able to fix on a recent inquiry. But seriously though, where else are you gonna call that has Guns N Roses Sweet Child of Mine blasting in the background? Stay awesome, Steve.

Have to give a shout-out and h/t to Munich West Auto Repair in Decatur. Last Thurs. the front air strut on my E550 blew out. The next morning as I was having it towed to Munich West it looked as though the rear strut had blown out also. Mike from M-W called and said also that the rear strut was bad and needing replacement. He also commented that the rear replacement was an all-day job and I should consider replacing both rear struts to save a future labor bill, to which I agreed, probably a $2K+ bill. Mike called this morning to say that the rear strut actually was good, it held air throughout the weekend, so they replaced and charged me for only the front strut. Probably 8 of 10 shops would have just gone and replaced all three struts. Its refreshing to see this type of honesty. In the 2 years Ive been going there, theyve always provided master-level service at very reasonable prices. Its obvious they love the cars and always treat your car as one of their own.

They dont even deserve a star really. My girl friend took her BMW Munich-East after it was recommended and the I was very disappointing for her. they keep finding things wrong she agreed to have the repair done. The vehicle has not been running right since. I was told Steve the little fat dude was very rude and raised his voice at her when she was explaining what was going on with her vehicle. I think he has some real issues and it may be with people of color. Hes very some time-ish and a way that people that have to deal with the public should not be when people are spending thousands of dollars at there business establishment.. Mike tried his best but still the vehicle was not repair to satisfaction for the price. Took it to BMW and they stated no way they could have done that type of work from what they found. Hope this is a reality check for them and others. dont get ripped off. still have $5,000. worth of work to be done on the vehicle.

Took my SAAB there several times. They do decent work, but overcharged me one time too many. They also dont care much for people who actually know something about their cars and ask questions. Went in for a coolant flush earlier this year, they quote me around $120, which is fine. Then hours later, they say they cant get the radiator drain plug off. Instead of fixing the plug, they say they gotta drain through the radiator hose. So now it is not a flush, but just a drain and fill. AND they charged me $30 more. But the kicker was when I asked them, as an afterthought, to replace a broken screw holding down one of the ignition coils. I had broken the head off when tightening it after changing my spark plugs. I just didnt have a replacement screw or I would have done it myself. Figured it would be 5 or 10 bucks, a five minute job. Nope...$45. To remove a 2 inch screw and replace it. The last money theyll get from me.

If you love your vehicle do not take it to Munich West. I gave these guys more than 10 chances. Many different jobs were performed on my BMW wagon. Nearly every single job was done very poorly and or they broke something else in the process. Attention to detail is nonexistent. On one occasion I picked my vehicle up and smelled gas/fuel. Upon lifting the hood, I found my fuel line had been tampered with. It was steadily dripping onto the engine block! The job they performed did not call for fuel line removal in any way. I am the only one that works on my wagon now. I am still finding half rate work and broken things here and there that are left overs/reminders of how little they care. Dont even get me started on the super smug attitudes that youll find at the counter and in the shop. These are real issues that I hope youll avoid. If you love your car...please take it to Quantum Mechanics. Those are the real pros. For the same cost or less.

Ive had several issues since my warranty ran out on my BMW. The first one I had was when my check engine light came on, so I took it to Hank Aaron BMW knowing that dealerships love to screw you.Well bingo they came back and told me I had a cracked radiator and needed a new one and it was going to cost $2500. Well a friend told me about Munich West, a bmw repair shop in Decatur. I took my car over there and they ran some tests and guess what... There was a small leak in my radiator, but no replacement radiator was needed just a minor fix, final bill just over $200. Theres no telling how much money these guys have saved me since my warranty ran out. Im guessing well over $5000. These guys are great and very affordable. I highly recommend!

I actually have used them once before for my wifes Audi, and they actually treated her good to the point where I even have referred two other friends . But this last time for me they made me feel like I was asking to get into the VIP section of some snobbish club and they controlled the velvet rope. First off my problem. I had an 04 Passat that was sitting up for a few months because a STOP light came on saying the car was overheating so I parked the car and took awhile to get around to it. I have 3 other cars btw and rarely drive this one so it wasnt a priority when it went down. So the tag expired a few months ago and I decided against selling so I needed tohave it fixed and get it registered. I called Munich on a Fri and explained the situation and they told me to bring it in on the following Thur. I told them I needed to tow it in so I wouldnt get a ticket driving it up there plus I thought it may overheat. All good so far. I called that following Thur morning to let them know I was about to have the car towed there and they say Let me get STEVE. I explain to Steve that Im towing the car in and he asks if I had it registered. I politely try to explain I need a mechanic to fix my issue THEN I would go get it registered. Steve replies he cant work on a car with expired tags. What kind of mechanic says that!!! Then he tells me to take it to a dealer as if that was my only option. I mean this guy acted as if I was bringing him a piece of trash to restore and I intended to leave it at his shop for months. At the very least I could tow my car in and tow it away if needed. Anyhow I took it to Karma and at the end of the day the car was actually fine just a bad sensor, oil change, and some new spark plugs and I was on my way. Happy ending though is now its registered and I found a quality mechanic. Anyhow good luck using them. Just figure Id give my 2 cents because had this been my only car and Im taking Uber back and forth to work from Mon till Thur just for Thur to come and I have to hear they wont work on it then I wouldve been in a very time wasting situation. Even if that is their policy which Ive never heard from another mechanic then get on the same page and dont waste peoples time.
