Dont be scared by those 1 star reviews. We had great experience. Even though we were late 3 hours because of some flight changes we were in and out in 5 minutes. Had the vehicle i expected.
Very bad car and bad service. Car fully insured doesn’t start I call for assistant I wait 30 minutes and the answer was you need to come to our office tomorrow and hung up the phoneI have no other choice than calling a taxi to return to my hotelVery upset
I didnt like this particular location @the airport. Must be dropped off and picked up or pay parking rates. There was no one @ the Hertz desk. Sign to go to dollar rental. There was no one in the lot to answer questions about your rental. I wont rent from this location again if I can help it!?
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT USE. Highly disappointed in Hertz at the Daytona Airport. Booked a rental car, came to pick the rental car up at the time slot selected online. Once I arrived I was told that they had to give out vehicles first to everyone who booked before me to make sure they had vehicles left.... WHY WOULD YOU ALLOW ME TO BOOK AND CONFIRM A RESERVATION ONLINE IF YOU DONT KNOW IF YOU HAVE VEHICLES LEFT??? Now we have to wait around until they can check and see if they have the availability.... ALL WHILE WERE WAITING AROUND WITH NO CAR. The representative couldnt even supply a time to come back... This was after already waiting in line for over an HOUR to pick the car up. Oh and see the photo below?? I HAVE CALLED 15 TIMES AND NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE. WORST SERVICE IVE EVER RECEIVED. DO NOT USE HERTZ!
I’m 3 for 3 for being issued cars with mechanical issues. The service is beyond terrible; I always feel like a burden to the lady working there and there is never any upgrades for those with Presidents Circle status. Despite the lower price point, I’d pay extra to have peace of mind with reliable cars, service and experiences without their lemon-law-like vehicles. Avoid at all costs if possible.
Is there anyone working the front desk? I have called 6 times and no one answers. It rings several times and then hangs up on you. The hours of operation are from 8 am to 12. Are you closed?
Was a Hertz gold member and happy. Booked thru dollar rent a car for my last trip which Hertz owns. Payed full price on internet search. Got to destination and charged another $212 intercity fee. Does not seem like they are ahead. For that fee they lost a customer forever. Going to Avis in the future. Why is short term greed to them better then long term customer satisfaction and retention. No wonder why they filed for bankruptcy.
WORST experience ever at Daytona Airport. One lady working & a non moving line. Then we hear people getting irate & find out WHY. Booked online thru Hertz site at 8 am to pick up today at noon, it’s 1:15 pm & we are told we can’t have a car until the people that made their reservations before today ALL pick up theirs first!! I’m lost... What’s the point of a RESERVATION SYSTEM then??!! Why even put a pick up time!?!? I have never heard of this ridiculous policy at ANY car rental company. And why isn’t that on your website or in the terms? So what am I supposed to come back at 11:59 pm?! NEVER again.
Reserved an SUV a month ahead of time. When we got there, they said they didn’t have any available, despite there being SUVs in the lot. This was very inconvenient for my disabled passenger, as the car they gave us was too low to the ground for her to get into. I paid for the car in advance, and they charged me more than double that price in fees when I got to the airport. The car they gave us had squeaky breaks and the car charger did not work. We reported these when we returned the car, and they took away money from my deposit. They told me they would refund my $200 deposit, and they refunded less than 3/4 of that with no explanation. This was my first experience renting a car, and I will definitely stay away from Hertz in the future.
I have never smoked in my life and this location without warning charged me $400 smoking damage- Im very disappointed in the Daytona Airport Location. They did not inspect vehicle at the time off returning and no notice was giving the day the Corp office tried to contact the daytona location they said they couldnt contact it because it wasnt a working number. I NEED A. SOLUTION AND ANSWERS
This is the most unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful customer service Ive ever had. Ever. Had a car rented AND PAID FOR IN ADVANCE. When I arrived to get the car, they informed me they gave mine away. SERIOUSLY? When I asked for a refund I was told to calm down. I will WALK before I EVER rent from this worthless company again.
This has as much to do with Hertz overall as it does this particular location. The car I was given was so small that it could only fit one carry-on suitcase & a soft-sided carry-on bag in the trunk. Other luggage had to go in the back seat. This is not enough room for people coming to an airport! But I was literally stuck with this car without enough room for us and our bags because the Hertz counter was already closed for the night and the person at the next counter who gave me the keys and paperwork for this car was out the door as soon as she took care of me.During my stay, the cars Tire Pressure light was on even though I checked that the pressure was ok. I expected to tell the Hertz people about it when I dropped off the car (almost a full 24 hours earlier than I paid for, BTW) because I didnt want to get in trouble with the Security Deposit, but the Hertz counter wasnt open so I could only left the keys in the drop-box (I called the 800-number the next day and the person told me he to fill out a form online, but every time I pressed the Submit button on the form, I got an Error 500. I gave up after two days of that error).
Watch your contract carefully, as they will sneak on charges without your knowledge and refuse to refund when you get final receipt

I rented a car from the Catalina Dr location on 8/11. When I rented the vehicle I had asked the CSR to add an additional driver. I was informed the additional driver would need to be present to sign the contract and present their ID. I also had presented my military ID and the CSR informed me that the charges for the additional driver would be waived due to my military service. I called my girlfriend who was outside waiting in the car and informed her that she needed to come in and sign the contract. After she signed the contract, she headed back to the house that we were staying in. When I inspected the vehicle that we were given, I noticed that it reeked of cigarette smoke and had burn marks in the upholstery. I went back inside, explained the issue with the vehicle to the CSR, and informed him that my girlfriend was on her way back to where we were staying so I would not be adding her as an additional driver. The CSR told me that everything on the original contract would remain the same except I would be signing to take responsibility for a different vehicle. Shortly after signing for the second vehicle, I received a receipt for the first vehicle that did not have any charges for the additional driver. Later that day when I received the receipt for the second vehicle, I noticed that I had been charged for the additional driver even though my girlfriends signature was not on the contract. Since then, Ive spent countless hours on the phone and email in an attempt to get a refund for the additional driver. The CSRs Ive spoken with on the phone have been very rude and have spoken down to me, lied to me, and not listened to me. Never again will I rent from Hertz and I cannot recommend them to anyone else.
Efficient and friendly
We reservered a car on Wednesday for today Friday June 5th when we get to Hertz in Holly Hill Florida to complete the reservation the card reader would not read the strip on our credit card the agent said the card number could not be typed in and the chip reader doesnt work.so needless to say we didnt get the rental. Very disappointing. We will not be doing business with Hertz in the future. We tried to pay at a different location and were told it would be 298.00 for the week..all we wanted to do was pay for the rental at a different location because of the antiquated equipment at the Holly Hill location.
It is small and easy to enter and exit. The rental care counter at the airport and cars right outside the airport--i was out with my rental car in a few minutes. I recommend Hertz and DAB airport to everyone.
Had to rent a car from Daytona to get to our final destination in Melbourne. Hertz was wonderful. I was able to change our reservation last minute and to drop off at a separate location. One of the other car rental places was not as flexible and therefore lost our business. We will be sticking with Hertz in the future for sure.
AMAZING service!! Our guy Anthony was phenomenal. We looked forward to returning the car to him and telling him about our trip and we did just that. Very genuine and helpful!
The lady working there today was more then rude. She said I couldn’t get a better deal then what she offered. I’ve never been talked down by a rental car salesman before. Went to enterprise and gotten a much better deal and saved 300$
Lady charged me for rental insurance that I did not need nor want. When I called the 800 number for Hertz corporate they said I had to speak to the local agent at the Daytona Beach desk that I originally rented from to modify the contract. Nice concept. They do not answer their phone. Bottom line, it is a scam. They trick you into insurance and then you cannot get rid of it. Goodbye $265. Agent must have made a nice commission off that. Will never rent from Hertz again.
Horrible customer service
My Father rented a car from here & forgot his Rayban sunglasses. I’m sure you know what happened next. He called following leaving the airport they told him they would check his car & call back, no call back. He called again & they told him they would call back because they were busy, no call back. He called them again and they said the person with the keys won’t be back until Monday, three days later, and they would call Monday. Of course they did not call back and once my father was able to get ahold of them they told him they didn’t have the sunglasses. If you don’t know Rayban sunglasses are very expensive, so someone ended up with a nice pair of sunglasses at the cost of my Fathers mistake of trusting this company to hire honest employees. We will not be using their rentals again & I encourage you to proceed with caution when it comes to your belongs because you probably won’t get them back.
This Hertz has the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere. I dealt with the lady at the counter named Randy and she was immediately rude. When I approached the counter her and another employee continued a personal conversation while I waited. She rolled her eyes when I declined the rental insurance and then informed me they did not have the type car I booked online and it would be an additional $10 a day to get a car from them, when I told her I would just go to another one of the five rental car places in the airport and rent a car she then could all of the sudden upgrade me for free.... amazing how she could do that all of the sudden instead on just doing it to take care of a customer. I will never rent from Hertz again because of Randy and her terrible attitude and service. I have had great experiences with other rental car companies in the airport so I will use them in the future.
Ok. It has nice convenience of being right in the airport but customer service was a bit lacking. I was returning a car and they were a bit dismissive. But CHEAPEST rates around.
Rented a car from Hertz had a problem with the front tire took it back to have it repaired and they gave me another car in exchange less than 10 minutes I really appreciated that
I rented a car for well over a month from the Daytona international airport Hertz and was offered the insurance that I had originally declined on the online reservation. When she offered me the insurance again I told her I could not afford that rate which is $12.99 a day. The female reservationists made it seem like I was going to pay for the insurance for $9 period. Like it was a smaller cut rate insurance. What I actually got was a $519.99 bill for insurance for which I was not expecting I thought I was going to get a $568 refund at the end of the reservation. But, I now know that I wont and the final bill was close to $1500 on a debit card. I think it is outrageous when I told her I could not afford the insurance because I knew the fee was way beyond what I wanted to pay. In addition to that she acted like she was doing me a favor by upgrading the car which was even more than the reservation I had made online. I feel ripped off and I will definitely never rent another car from this place. I would have been happy to pay the fee that I originally thought I was going to get. She really made me feel that she was being a friend, I was expecting a a refund, because on a debit card some places take extra as insurance toward the final bill. My holidays will not be the same after losing so much money on a rental car. I felt I didnt get what I thought I was going to get. They have lost me as a customer.

You get what you pay for ...The car I got had high mileage for a rental, smelled bad and not a good ride overall. Kia Rio. The biggest problem though is no one is at the desk at 6am. Break the bank Hertz---- pay the extra $20 for 2hrs for a person to be there when flights start in the morning. I turned my keys in to a box and realized I left my wallet in the car. A locksmith and $80 later I got it out and barely made my flight with an ulcer. No excuse.... Avis workers were there and another company cant remember with folks taking care of business. Big company like Hertz should be up and at em. I did see rude customer service when checking in for Gold service but I chalked it up to being midnight and folks being frustrated.

Terrible! They basically trick you into buying insurance by throwing the word basic in your face. My husband said he did not want insurance and they said, ok so just the basics? He said yes and signed. Later to find out that Basic ment an extra 200.00 on the bill! They would not return the money! Never going with Hertz again!!
