Sorry for the length, but I don’t think it’s helpful just to say, “I had a terrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place”, so here are the details of my experience: I had a terrible time finding this location. They didn’t have the trailer I wanted at my normal location on Riverside Drive, but told me they had one here. I drove around for 40 minutes trying to find it. I tried calling this location several times, but kept getting a busy signal. I called the Riverside location. They gave me the scheduling number. After waiting on hold a long time, they told me that it was part of a storage place. We had seen a storage place way back off the road, but there were no Uhaul signs, so we didn’t think that was it. We went back there and found that there were 2 entrances, and one of them had a small Uhaul sign. We drove up the hill, and saw the trucks around the back of the building. When I went into the office, there was a woman assisting a customer. I mentioned I had a hard time finding the place. She said it’s because the city would not let them put signs up at the road. Mind you they have a huge banner across the front of the buildings with the name of their storage units. It would not cost them much to add one that says Uhaul. I also mentioned I had tried to call and just got a busy signal. She said their phones work as far as she knows. I tried calling the number while I was there and got a busy signal. I asked her what their number is. She told me a different number than what I had. The wrong number is on both the receipt I got for their location and in the result from a Google search. I told her that and her reply was that it’s not their fault, they have nothing to do with that. When the other customer left, he said to me, “yes, the number they have listed isn’t right”, as he walked by me. I’m guessing he experienced the same issue. So when I go to sit down with her I said that they need to do something about the incorrect number. She said they are not Uhaul and have nothing to do with it. At no time did she seem the least sympathetic or understanding of the frustration I just went through. Nor did she seem to want to do anything about the issues I encountered. Every time she opened her mouth, I just got more aggravated. I told her I was not happy about her handling of the situation. She told me that she didn’t like that I came in and yelled at her right away. In no way, shape, or form did I ever yell at her. I just expressed my frustration. I told her that all she had to say to me was that she was sorry and she would look into it (and at least try to sound sincere while saying it), and I would have been just fine with that. I diffuse easily. But she could not bring herself to extend the least bit of understanding or consolation to me at all. I finally told her I didn’t want to deal with her and I was going to the other location. She said I was wrong about her and that people love her (sure, probably if they don’t have any issues), and that I’d lose out on getting the size trailer I want. I didn’t care at that point. It took me more time to go to Riverside and take a smaller trailer, and it was still worth it. The people at Riverside are super nice. I told them what happened. They were very sorry for it. It took them a while to get me a new trailer. I stood there and patiently waited. They thanked me for my patience. I thanked them and said that I really am a friendly, patient person. That other woman tried to paint me like a rude, yelling woman when all I was doing was telling her about valid issues I was having with finding them. She couldn’t care less the trouble, frustration, and waste of time she caused me that morning. In short, I would not recommend this location if you can go anywhere else.
Very friendly people who work there!! Very helpful!
