I remember when Hertz was the best in the business...its been a while. Now I Hertz is the worst. I just rented a car that was in such need of repair, the wheel would shake violently after 50 mph. I also have been annoyed on several occasions when my Hertz local edition on Tooley Lane in Danbury isnt opened when I go to drop off or pick up cars and its closed when the sign clearly states they should be open. Come on Hertz...get your act together..

On my second car. First had no brakes. Second smells and the windshield wipers didn’t work. I had to go get new windshield wipers myself. Third offered car was worse than the second. Current car was dirty and had food under the seat. This car is over three thousand miles past the last recommended oil change according to the sticker in the windshield.

Ive rent several times from the location. Friendly and Helpful staff. This time they didnt have my full size car so they upgraded me to a nice jeep gladiator Rubicon. No complaints

This is the worst Hertz I have ever experienced. He literally thew keys on my face and telling if you want to take it or not. Car is not at all clean and on top of it he is throwing the keys on my face. This is very worst experience I have had in my life

Zero star service, very unprofessional. I dropped off a rental today and the guy at the desk, Tyler, was very unprofessional, up to an extend of being verbally aggressive.I came in and told him that I’m dropping off a car. He looks at me, takes the key and leaves without saying a word. Comes back and said to me that the tank is not full. I told him that it wasn’t given full to me then proceed to say that it’s ok that we’ll just charge me $10/ gallon if he has to do it. I told him that nobody said that to me but I’d happily go and fill the tank. He kept on rising his voice, calling me “bro” and how it was his job to check the cars.I took the key and took the car to fill the tank before I took the car he proceeded to say that it was better if he goes and charge me extra.When I came back, I dropped off the key at the “Express box” and him, not satisfied with all the stuff he had say to me, came outside, in front of my 4-year-old daughter and my wife, and started yelling some more. I got in my car and asked my wife to drive.I do not, 100%, recommend this place. He is obviously very stressed with his low-paying job, and has the desire to take it on the clients.STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. You are NOT borrowing their cars, you’re paying for a service.

If i could give this place less than one star i would. Employee was coughing and burping without a mask when i first got in. He then proceeded to just give me the key and say malibu and then left. Never looked at the car with me (which was dented and scratched). They also close at 2pm so you get charged for an extra day for no reason, of course they dont mention this to you when given a car. Use Enterprise on federal road, way nicer and on top of their game.

The people at Hertz are extremely accommodating. They make the whole experience of renting a car so easy. They pick you up and bring you to their office where you fill out the paperwork and drive off. I would go back there whenever I need a rental and highly recommend this location on Toilet Lane in Danbury.

The office manager Adrian refused to speak to me on a recorded line after refusing to return personal documents from a returned vehicle. Now I have to waste more of my time to make police reports and deal with their incompetence. Adrian refused to explain the time line of 30 minutes between having the car and it being rented. I often book car rentals but this is was the first time I booked with Hertz and I will not only never be using their service I will also be pressing charges against Adrian and Michelle from the Patterson location based on the phone conversation in which the information given was inconsistent (ex. Within 30 minutes they checked the car, drove it from Patterson NY to Danbury CT AND rented it out for a day... but should have it back tomorrow. The incompetence of Hertz employees is really astonishing and they definitely have to retrain or rehire their staff.Additionally, Michelle from Patterson NY location had an issue when the vehicle was being returned because this was an insurance rental and the cars had to be switched. She acted very unprofessionally raising voice and NOT listening to the customer who was told that the rental was ready for pickup but she just did not want to understand and blamed it on my dads accent. Overall just a terrible experience that isn’t over and need official involvement.Thanks for the headache!

DISHONEST SERVICE! They charged me for loss and damage waiver (extra $125) WITHOUT asking me! When I saw the charges after getting the keys it was too late to change. Even though my profile shows that I have that choice DECLINED!! They lied saying my profile says “accepted”, I opened my profile and it’s right there “declined” so wth can you charge anyone for that? Will only use enterprise from now on.

DO NOT do business with this company!I rented a vehicle for 3 days and the employees at Hertz told me how long I can keep the car and what time I had to return it before there would be additional charges. I brought the car back a DAY EARLIER than the time they told me and they charged me a extra $74. I called and complained to Hertz stating what the employees told me when I picked the car up and they told me there is nothing they could do about it.This company is SCAMMING people and I’m sure they are doing this on a regular basis to their customers. I’m not the kind of person to write reviews neither good or bad but I had to take the time to let people know about this dishonest company that takes advantage of their customers.

DO NOT use this location. This was a disaster. They rented me a vehicle that had issues. The vehicle was not safe to drive. It broke down on the side of the road and they wanted ME to pay for the vehicle to be towed. One of the workers Adrian was so disrespectful and rude. I was scared. I would never use this location again. It was a disaster. Save yourself the hassle and rent from somewhere else.

I definitely had a mixed experience with the location here. My husband and I were visiting CT and last minute needed to rent a car to take my father-n-law.The two guys were able to get us into a rental so that was a positive .The issue was the customer service or lack of. No greeting when entered. Also there was no inquiry if I was a gold member (which I am) so some of the questions I asked throughout the transaction could had been answered more clearer had that been established.I always find it unprofessional when you have a customer and another customer enters and you give that customer a professional and courteous welcome and failed to do so with the one you were working with.I know this isn’t a national company’s fault and it’s the individual personal bias or choice to choose who will be treated as they are trained or not.This won’t stop me from being a Hertz customer and I am open to trying this location again if I ever need s rental last minute . Hopefully this was a one time mistake .

Pretty standard (ie: poor to fair) car rental experience, until a month later I was invoiced a $25 administrative fee for accidentally using an ezpass that nobody even told me was in the car. They refuse to rectify the situation, even after taking fault for not informing me about the ezpass.If you have to rent here, read the fine print! They be swindlers.

I frequently rent (4-6 times a year?) from this Hertz location and am often pleased with the rental and process. My past two rentals I was not 100% satisfied and I completed the survey given with the receipt. I received a phone call a couple days after the survey from Ashley and she really wanted to get to the bottom of my concerns. I felt that a female that worked there was rude (in the past, this was my first survey completed and I was speaking about an associate that no longer works there and i was unaware.). My only complaint for the associates working now was that Ashley went around the car rather quickly but she apologized and maybe just wasnt aware how quickly she was doing it since its something she probably does quite often and knows the vehicles well.Overall, I will continue to rent through this location and have never had any major problems. Obviously i learned if you voice a concern it will be taken care of.

If you rent from this location, ask for Ashley. She was the ONLY person in a huge mess who (A) knew what to do, (B) did it and (C) gave me a great rate to compensate me for the hassles. Sorry in advance that this is a long post.I scheduled a car rental from Hertz Patterson, NY. First, Patterson, is 20+ miles from my house, not 6.45 miles as quoted to me by the Gold Desk people. Hertz driver (from this Danbury location--the Danbury location manages the Patterson one, an auto repair place) picked me up and got me there in time but the rental car wasnt there. Both he and I talked to the Danbury office who claimed it was on the way. So, at 5:15 the driver left me there.I called Danbury at 5:30 and told them if the car came while I was across the street getting a burger, to call me. Nobody did. Had Patterson Auto Body wanted to, they couldve just gone home and left me stranded, as they had the keys inside their office. Luckily, when I got my order and went back across the street to Patterson Auto Body, they were still there and gave me the keys to the rental car which was left there by that time.The car was vacuumed but had dirty windows. A half-drunk bottle of Pepsi rolled out from under the seat along with a box of somebodys Kleenex.Then came the confusion. I decided to extend the rental.First of all, never call the Gold Desk. They dont take notes when you extend your rental. As a result, my debit card was hit $51 a day for an unextended rental (even though I called the Gold Desk THREE TIMES to extend AND once through the Danbury location). Hertz also kept leaving voicemail on my cell that I had an unextended rental and sent me 6 emails.Danbury said I would pay $854 for the month and theyd hit me for another $270 authorization. HOWEVER, Hertz debited me $503 in addition to the daily $51 debits above. I called the Danbury office to get this squared away, but after 8 minutes on hold, I gave up on them. I called the Gold Desk and was told I owed over $1100 for the rental even though Danbury had told me it would be $854. WTF?SO I called Danbury to get this squared away and spoke with Ashley. She was fabulous. Extended my rental, retroactively gave me a price of $704 for the month of July and the same price for August.Tom the local manager called and was very helpful also.LESSON LEARNED never call the Gold Desk and if you call Danburys location, talk to Ashley.
