On time very professional and respectful Que should be your next barber.

This place isnt worth your time. The price i paid did not meet my expectations. The guy did my hair WAY too quickly and it was ok at best not good. Ive been trying out a lot of barbers to find a good one and so far I havent. The manager needs to be around more often to observe the place.

Came here as a walk in on a Monday around 2pm. There was only one person in front of me in line and one barber working on another person. The wait wasn’t bad. The barbers were meticulous in their craft, they took their time and the results definitely showed! They give a lot of attention to detail. I got a medium skin fade which took my barber a while but it was the best fade I’ve gotten. It was smooth nice transition.I definitely recommend this place. However, it would be smart to book an appointment.

I’m new to the Dallas area and tried this barbershop out for the first time. I had an appointment at 1:00pm with some barber named Brandon. The barber never showed up. Finally, after a hour of waiting, I had to get cut by some random barber that didn’t follow directions. I had to tell him over and over and over how I wanted my hair. Then he up charged me for his screw ups. Never going here again.

We love John! Im super hard to please and hes been amazing. Hes also been great with my other child who has severe sensory issues and emotional disturbance. No matter how many times he has to clean the hair off him during the cut, he does it without complaint. You know youve found a great person when you follow him to wherever he may go to.

Made an appointment 1:30, showed up at 1:25, waited until 2:30 on my only day off of work. I was planning on making this my spot since I just moved and it’s close to my new house. My barber Cruz was working in the same hair cut for over an hour while the other barbers finished 2 people each. I ended up walking out, I will never set foot back in that place again. Terrible business coming from someone who owns their own business and knows how important repeat customers are.

This is a great, new barbershop. The decor on the inside is very pleasant and appealing. You can tell that they have a knack for attention to detail. They have refreshments available for you while you wait, such as lemonade or water, and they have a nice TV to watch and music going as well. I really liked the atmosphere. The barber, Danny, did a great job on my cut. He did exactly what I wanted and it came out looking great. If youre like me, you know how hard it can be to find a good barber shop that you trust with your hair. Once I find one that cuts my hair right, I keep going back. Included in your price they provide a shampoo, hot towel, razor shave, and shoulder massage which is a very nice touch and a great deal considering the price (Ive paid more for less). I met the owner, Kirk, who was very friendly and engaging. Its nice to see how much he cares about his customers to the point that he will interact with them and also make sure that they had a positive experience. Hes also very educated in his products and helped point me to a new product for my hair that is working way better than what I used to use. Needless to say I will be going back to Balckshears Barbershop and I definitely recommend that you go too.

Remember in the movie Barbershop when no one wanted to sit in the chair where the non-African American man was doing hair. At the end he did cut someone hair and it turned out that he did a really good job? NOT at this location. He plugged me and then try to say it was because my hair was light. Then had the nerve to tell me I don’t have to pay because I will just go to somebody else’s shop and have them do my hair for free also. I came to this shop a month ago because I was going out of town. The guy did my hair and got paid and got a tip. Don’t insult me by offering a free haircut to your piss poor work. Then he kept talking smack and although I had to apologize for going off because I guess it was bring your child to work day in which he didn’t seem to care since he was talking smack as I was walking out the door. Then the manager claims that it does look a “little” light, but his workers won’t lie. He doesn’t even know how to cut. He kept hitting the razor up against my head while cutting and stopping to tend to other needs that had nothing to do with my hair. He couldn’t even shape up my front hairline. And for the manager to notice that it was plugged and said his workers won’t lie is BS. Like hell they will lie. So, no I didn’t pay and won’t return. Last month cut, no plug. Last week cut, plug!***Responding to the response, I pass. The barber who addressed my concerns wasnt another barber he said he was the manager. I would think the manager would have handled this better. No thanks.

**LOOK NO FURTHER**Hands down the best barbershop in DFW and definitely worth the 30 minute drive for me. Make sure you ask for John when you walk in!! You’ll be happy you did! Everyone here is highly knowledgeable so stop looking for a better spot and take action!!

I visited this barbershop awhile back and if I remember correctly Jay cut my hair. She did a pretty good job since it was her first time. Didnt care for how my mustache came out but it was cool. What turned me off was the fact that a normal hair cut is $21. Whats that extra $1 for? Is that an attempt to sway you into tipping more? Also, I was put off by the fact that I was told the cut would be $21 but they were suppose to charge me $35 because they lined my mustache and the small goat tee that I have. Mind you this was not a full facial beard that was trimmed and lined. I opted to make that visit my last.

This is a great barbershop and family friendly. The barbers actually listen to the details of the cut your asking for. Overall great customer service will recommend this shop to anyone.

I was in from out of town and needed a barber. I walked in and Kasey gave me a cut. The place has a comfortably hip decor and Kasey is second to none in attention for details. Kasey took care of all the various volunteer crops growing in all the new places we discover hair as we age. He took care to make sure all the irritation from the clippers was neutralized and all the loose hair was removed so I could go straight to dinner without getting the itchies. Thanks Kasey.

Do not allow this person to cut your hair. I got someone who had Jay Money on their front. I am not sure the name. Small, petite person; dreadlocks; tattoos. Completely ruined my hair. Uneven, no fading, absolutely terrible. Didnt realize how bad it was until I got home and tried to style it myself. Had to immediately find a salon open late to salvage what was left of my hair and paid them $35 on top of the $21 plus $4 tip I paid this person. The main barber did a good job on my buddys hair, it seemed. But this person seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. How do you let someone like that cut hair at your place????

I cut hair myself and am extremely selective where I go for a cut. I usually get a taper on my sides and when I do, it needs to be perfect. This place provides aan amazing massage with this crazy Device and a steam towel service! Amazing and nice crowd!

Decided to try the place out since my usual barber had a long wait time. This place has a great atmosphere so no complaints there. I came in looking to get a low/taper fade and was attended immediately. Although, I wish i would have just waited for the next available barber since the one that attended me was new to using clippers (didnt know that at the time). I felt my hair being chopped off a little too much, fade was not good at all. Luckily the other barber was able to somewhat salvage my haircut, but it was a little too late either way. They were really nice people, I still ended up paying for the haircut, but I wish I hadnt ended up a guinea pig for someone to learn to cut hair on.

Came here for a haircut. Sat for 1 1/2 hour patiently and I never got a haircut. I ask several people if they could cut my hair but then they said they only do appointments. It would have been nice if the guy at the front desk told me that when I singed in when I 1st got there. Dont waste your time unless I guess if you make an appointment. Best to go somewhere else. Which I did go around the corner and I was in and out in 10 mins.

Blackshear barbershop is top notch! I loved my son’s haircut! The staff is very professional.

I just had my sons haircut here. This was our 3rd or 4th time having a haircut here. Previous experiences were good. This time, I showed a picture of my sons hair right after a haircut to the stylist before the haircut started. She proceeded to cut his bangs so short, and so much shorter than the picture I showed her, that I could not in good conscience pay for the haircut, and I could not permit her to cut my other sons hair, who was in line to have his hair cut next. I dont know that well be able to come back.

I recently had my hair cut by Jay Money. I was referred to her by a business parter of mine. I recieved a taper fade with the razor. I will say, i am very pleased with my hair cut. I had no complaints, Jay was very attentive and professional. I am pleased with her service, definitely will schedule my appointment with her next time around. The shop has a friendly atmosphere and very clean. I will continue coming to Blackshear.

I was very happy with the hospitality and customer service. They were apologetic to those that had to wait too long. It was my first time there and needed a cut for a wedding and it was in point.

Waited two hours to not get a haircut. These “barbers” hope you assume that their business is appointment based; they are careless with their work. I wouldn’t recommend. Their cuts are fairly decent.

Moved here from NJ about 6 months ago and was not able to find a barber who knew how to cut hair until I came here. Thank you Stacy for the awesome cut. My search for a barber is now done haha.

First time coming there and I booked an appointment at 1pm on Sunday, February 7, with Jay Miller that I booked online. Doors were locked when I arrived at 12:50 pm. I saw a few people inside then someone came and unlocked the door. Whomever open the doors said that the business was closed. I told her that I had an appointment at 1pm. She then pointed to the people inside that were next and was rude. She then asked who I had an appointment with. I told her I could not remember so it did not matter if it was closed. She seem to have an attitude so I figured not to bother. However, the hours posted said you guys are open until six. Just as a business owner myself, if you arent able to keep appointments why not call clients to let them know your hours have changed? I drove there with an appointment at 1pm, the current time is 1:07pm and you are closed?

Extremely poor service for new customers. I called to make appointment I was told to come in and wait my turn because they were having a busy day. I arrived wrote my name on the list and all the barbers were taking repeat customers that arrived after I did. After waiting 90 minutes and four customers thats were placed ahead of me, I left very upset. Will not go back nor recommend anyone. Dont go there if you are a new customer, there is no sense of respect.

Dont waste your time!This was my first time coming here.I set up an appointment through the online booking website, as I read some reviews where people didnt get service without an appointment.I also made sure to come early before my appointment time because some other reviews complained about losing their appointment for being 5 minutes late.I got there, no one came to the front desk, and no one greeted me. There were 3 or 4 patrons waiting for service. Eventually one of the barbers closest to the front counter asked if I had an appointment, to which I replied yes with the name of the barber. He asked me to call the barber, and then asked me if I knew his phone number, which I did not. He gave me the barbers phone number.I proceeded to call the barber 3 times, two of which he sent me to voicemail. The third time he answered and told me he wasnt available till after 6 and asked me if one of the other barbers can cut my hair. There was a line, and I told him that it isnt likely. He told me to call him to schedule future appointments.Why have a website for people to schedule appointments on if it isnt updated with the actual availability. If someone cant be at work, the people with appointments need to be notified.Obviously the owner doesnt know how to run this business. Horrible experience, I wont be coming back and I recommend whoever else is considering coming, dont waste your time.Hollie World is a great alternative.Update 8/20: The owner responded (see his response below) saying that this barber is no longer an employee, which is false since I can still see him on the website booking system frederick (see the picture), and his card is available at the front desk. He also states that this never happened... I dont want to call out the barber, but you can imagine what kind of service you are going to get if the owner will not take responsibility for a bad system.

Dont go without appointment! TjereTis literally no care or respect for walk in. The haircuts are good. But I waited 2 hours for a 5 min edgeup. This is after I called in and asked if theres a long wait as I am on a serious time crunch. The guy said no worries just come on in well fit you in. No urgency from the barbers and no clear communication when you arrive. Ive been to barbershops all over town and the first time Ive felt the need to leave a bad review. (this is also my 5th bad experience hereh- so Im not basing it off of one visit) I give them a chance to do better but they disappoint with their service. 2 other walk ins left in the time I sat here Bc they got tired of waiting.

I was a stylist/barber here until recent. The owner Kirk Blackshear raised the basic buzzcut from 16 to $21. I told him thats not fair to the regular clients and that we should give them a heads up then he can change it... He fired me and said it was because he think I was stealing thats why I was going so hard about not raising the prices without fair warning!!! Most people pay with credit cards plus there are 3 cameras in the shop.... Not once could he show me evidence of theft!! He has only been open 4 months and has already gone through 10 employees, he is very impatient and expects to make a profit right away... In this business you have to wait 3-5 yrs to see a real return... I think he picked the wrong business to open because he knows nothing about the industry except going to get a haircut. The barbers are great but he is a green monster and because of that I dont see this business lasting more than a year!

I stopped by to get a cut I walked in.... the door was unlocked there was about four people in the shop . And a barber came out the back being extremely rude . I asked if they where cutting he said look around does it look like we are cutting . And then he started yelling at some kid to not let anyone in . And egnored me till I left . Im a calm person I dont disrespect people . But he was lucky I didnt react

Update Included BelowPlease Read full review!!I came to this place about a month ago one Friday afternoon with my 9 year old son. I chose this barbershop because my wife said the reviews were good. We are from out of state so I was also looking for a long time spot. The environment seemed cool and what I was looking for. My son went first to the girl with dreads in the second chair. His cut came out pretty good.Mine on the other hand, let me first say this, if you provide a service (barber or not) you should at least know what your doing, especially if you dare to charge for it. I was approached by an older guy who happened to have the last chair in the back. I know the old saying about not using the last guy because they are put in the back for a reason. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. I should have listened to my gut. I gave the easiest set of instruction possible because I simply pointed at a picture they had on the wall and said that was what I wanted. I asked if he could even my hair out all around because I wanted to grow it out. I explained I just wanted the little loose hairs sticking out to be gone. I couldnt see much of the mirror while in the chair. What I did notice though, was that more than half my hair was in my lap. I stayed quiet because it was already too late. Once he said it was done, my line up/ shape up was so crocked that I almost busted out laughing because I couldnt believe how obviously messed up it looked. As terrible as the haircut was, it wasnt even the worst part. I was ready to go... so I hopped up and calmly asked How Much? He told me $21. I only had two $20 dollar bills on me so I handed him the $40 and waited. He shuffled around his drawer for a little while then hesitantly looked back at me and said I only have singles, is that alright? I told him it was fine but when I counted, instead of getting back the $19 dollars that I was owed, I got back $10 in singles. This guy decided to take his own $9 tip!! By then I was ready to loose it. I am no punk nor have I ever let anyone steal from me right in front of my face. Being that I had my son right next to me and saw two other small boys nearby I decided it wasnt worth that money. I will NEVER go back to this place.THE UPDATE:I received an Email from Google shortly after writing about this ACTUAL experience above indicating that the owner was following. I encourage positive feedback from any business owner or manager to help resolve issues but I am INSULTED that he wrote a response trying to say that I appeared to be a (former employee)!! I NEVER worked at any barbershop and never will. Get Real! I have no interest in doing that. I dont even know any in Texas yet. To be CLEAR, I was a regular Customer walking in to get a haircut. My experience at Blackshear was BAD because the barber was BAD. Take responsibility for it and move on. DONT TRY TO COVER IT UP! No one is perfect but if such a thing were to happen to yourself you would be just as upset. Dont disrespect customers by calling them a liar. Just apologize and leave it at that. Plus, dont say to contact you just to look like you want to resolve. Insulting customers online when you have a chance to clear things up is not a way to keep ppl coming back. Just be glad that I didnt take things any further when I didnt get the right change back! Im from New York City where shady stuff like that doesnt fly! To end this update, I actually did contact the listed number after this guy responded to call to see what the Owner would say. When I asked for him I was told he wasnt there and was hung up on while explaining why called. There are many other barbershops that I recommend you try before taking your chances dealing with something like this!

Website says they close at 4:00pm on Sunday. I showed up last Sunday @ 2:00 and they wouldnt let me in the door even though people were still inside.

The first thing I noticed was how nice and Clean the barbershop was. Que the barber (Cornelius) did an amazing job on my boys head. Finally a barber who exceeded my expectations!!! Plus they’re open on Sundays🤗 Would definitely recommend!!!!
