J Garrett Auctioneers is hands down, EXCEPTIONAL to deal with. We purchased a beautiful antique painting at the March 2021 auction. The staff was wonderful, helpful and we had great communications. The quality of the painting was beyond our expectations, we are very happy with our purchase. We look forward to more auctions with J Garrett Auctioneers!

My parent bought a Chinese porcelain vase from this auction on March,20th and condition report said it’s over good condition but when my friend picked it up and he found the whole body was repair and we talked with the Auction owner about this but they are not responsible for this and threatened me to blacklist me if I dont pay for itI have my own antique shop. I bought thousands of antiques a year at different auction houses. Ive never seen an auction house like this auction house.Please take this seriously when you place your order with this auction house

J Garrett auctions are filled with wonderful items. There is a good amount of preview time, if in Dallas, and accurate descriptions in online catalog. The people that work at J Garrett Auctioneers are friendly, knowledgeable, and fair. They are a pleasure to do business with.

This is my third rather large purchase from J. Garrett Auctioneers. I enjoy working with Julie Garrett for her professionalism and caring, both pre-and post auction. Both she and J. Garrett Auctioneers are due the highest regard in integrity, professionalism and assistance above and beyond. Speaking from a man of auction experience, J. Garrett has a life-long customer from Ole’ Virginia!

I didn’t complain that there’s cracks in my last two porcelain items until now, which they said in good condition, and these two cost me thousands dollars. But they refused my bidding request, it’s not reasonable.

No one will answer a phone. Impossible to get approved to bid. Find another auction house.Would have loved to have spoken with someone but that was never an option. And no, you don’t have a long list of “swear laced” responses. You have one that was the result of being given the runaround after the auction was over. Happy to post it all here if you would like. I have applied to other auctions of yours in the past yet still have never been “verified”. This isn’t the first time nor from other responses here am I alone in having this difficulty. Your system of “verifying” bidders is not clear. I had no idea I had to go through some vetting process. As a result, your consigner lost out on a higher bid that I had committed to.

I’ve purchased from J. Garrett on a number of occasions now and they’ve always been extremely accommodating, quick to respond, and have amazing pieces- will certainly do business again and you should to!

Julia, J Garrett, and their staff have been very helpful, in post auction service, they were going above and beyond in helping with packing, moving, loading, securing the bulky and heavy items onto the truck.We very much appreciated their extra work and help, and definitely recommend the auction house. There are, literally, no better auctioneers, nor better items described more accurately. From a 1903 Erard piano hand made in Paris to an 8.8 ct Colombian emerald solitaire of incomparable quality, Truly one of a kind pieces! Julie even brokered a post auction deal between a reluctant buyer and a sore loser (us), to everyone’s good fortune (she did not take a cut).!! Thank you, Julie, for seeing us through our overnight FedEx delivery of incredible jewelry pieces that came more than a week late, but intact and awesome, Thanks to her and one of her many “go to” delivery folks at Navis! Wouldn’t approve me on Live Auctioneers because I hadn’t won any items yet… how am I supposed to win items if I don’t get approved to bid on any?Their response also had poor grammar and was generally rude.

Having known Jeff Garrett for over 40 years and having watched his children grow up in the auction business; they are honest, ethical and responsible. When they say they will do something they do it and follow through to make sure you are completely informed about the selling process for antiques, furniture, paintings and statues. Once my items were sold, they provided prompt documentation and issued payment in the correct amount.I have also purchased items at their auctions and have always felt their descriptions were accurate and the estimated price range was realistic.Although I have heard horror stories from those who have bought at other auction houses the Garrett’s are the good guys and I have been pleased with the items I have bought or sold at J. Garrett Auctioneers.

The House provided stellar customer service. All of my communications were answered promptly and thoroughly. When a shipping provider bailed at the last minute, I was offered an extension of time to find a replacement. This experience has set the bar against which I’ll judge other auctioneers. Bid and buy with confidence. You’ll only be disappointed if another bidder wins! I‘m eager to participate l in the Spring auction.

Great auction house and a First Class family! Jeff and Justin the auctioneers keep things light and lively. Each is very fair to floor and internet bidders. Auction items are beautifully displayed for previews and auction days. Julie and Matt were very helpful and super responsive to questions. Very high quality auction items but dont be discouraged from bidding - deals can be had! I have had disappointing experiences with questionable auction houses in the past. My trust is not easily earned. These folks are honest, transparent and completely above board. Fun too!

Jeff was amazing to work with getting a very fragile item packed and shipped from Dallas to Louisville. His recommendation of a shipper worked beautifully. Jeff personally took the time to pack my items himself and he did not miss a single step. Everything arrived safely and completely intact. After buying this item, from one of his auctions, I truly had buyers remorse because I had not thought the shipping & delivery process completely through. Jeff assured me he would deliver and he did! Bought an excellent quality lamp at auction from this outfit. The lamp base has no way of attaching to the shade and only two out of three sockets work. Neither defect was disclosed in the sellers auction listing at LiveAuctioneers. Dont rely on this sellers representations. Inspect the merchandise in person or bid at your own risk.

I had a very pleasant experience as a first time participant with Garrett’s auction house. My emails where answered promptly and follow ups on condition reports were accurate regarding ceetain paintings and epergnes. I will most definitely follow their future auctions. Great experience.
