My machine was giving me all kinds of problems. I called a few places closer to me and no one got back to me. I called Akron Sewing Center and they were able to get me in that day!! I met with them later that day and got really great advice and she looked at my machine right there and told me what needed done. The whole experience took less than 10 minutes. They were so professional and responsive. My machine was back to me in two weeks and it has never sewn better. The price was very reasonable and the service was of the highest quality! I drove 45 minutes to come here and I would do it again in a second because I had such a great experience here! I highly recommend them if you need your machine serviced!!

Took my sewing machine to the Akron Sewing Machine Center because the thread kept breaking and needle jamming. The woman scolded me for buying cheap bobbins and made me write on the chalk board one hundred times “The needle goes in flat side back”. Now seriously, she was so helpful checking out the whole sewing machine and also pointed out I had the wrong foot on the machine. The three generations of sewing machine service is certainly apparent. Ill be taking my mothers White Machine there for a tune up.

Honest and reasonable! I have been here for various reasons, the most recent was my serger was not cutting material. She sorted it out and sent me on my way with no charge. She’s very knowledgeable and won’t sell you things you don’t need. I wish more local businesses remained in Akron, and with integrity like this, there’s no wonder they have been around so long. Best sewing machine repair shop hands down! I have taken quite a few machines here to have them repaired/ serviced. Laura is very knowledgeable and truly has a gift for fixing machines. She is prompt and down to earth, doesnt make you feel stupid like some other repairmen do.

My first time years ago I was so happy to find Laura she is kind and knowledgeable and is quick to share tips. Now wanting to sew again machine not working called Laura and she told me how to fix it, yeah because we are all in isolation.

Lora can fix any sewing machine or serger made. She fixes many industrial as well as home machines. Ive gone to her for over 15years asIm a collector and often need parts. She has them or will find them for me. Any problems with your machine, no matter the brand my advice in take them to Lora at Akron Sewing.

Absolutely wonderful! She let me come in on a day they were closed to look at my machine. She got it running so quietly and smoothly in minutes. Very down to earth, friendly and honest. I wasnt sure at first, and the dog was a surprise, but she was just as friendly as the owner! Ive yet to be disappointed by a shop with a pet in it. 10/10 will be using this place from now on!!! Dont be put off if they dont seem as shiny and polished as other more commercial stores, because this place is definitely a diamond in the rough.

What a gem of a place for sewing machine repairs! Wonderful service! She didn’t even charge me because she didn’t have to use a screwdriver. I had accidentally locked the bobbin loader. That was all that was wrong. Most places charge you just to look at the machine! Definitely the place to go.
