Our miniature schnauzer developed an ear infection, and the team at Urgent Animal Care were able to get us in right away. We were treated wonderfully, and they made us all - including our dog - feel very comfortable and cared for. Friendly and professional, answered all our questions, with no delays or waiting. Highly recommended!

I have been to this clinic twice before, once with my dog and once with my cat. My pets recieved top notch care and the vet is very straightforward, yet kind. I prefer nothing to be sugar coated and it wasnt. I will continue to use this clinic should the need arise. The hours are very convenient for those of us who work and cant get their pet seen during regular business hours.

My dog injured his leg. We got there around 5pm on a Saturday. We only waited a few minutes and they came in checked his leg, got some x-rays and an evaluation all in about 30 minutes. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Also the cost was very reasonable for an emergency clinic. Would definitely recommend them.

I am so happy with how wonderfully they treated my dog! I was so worried about where to take him with a pretty gnarly snagged nail late on a Saturday, and they were able to see him right away. He felt so much better after being seen and they were so thorough in explaining what they needed to do for him and how to care for him after. So thankful to have found this place!

I highly recommend coming to Animal Urgent Care for an emergency for your pet. We drove an hour & a half to bring our Mini Doxie Bettee in for a c-section. It was a Godsend to find them after searching all morning for a place open on Sunday (plus it being a holiday weekend) that would take me...not being a previous client. So easy to make an appointment on their website & get in the car & head over. Everyone was compassionate & professional & the price was very doable. I am recommending to everyone I know...put them on your vet call list.

They were so fast and so helpful! The vet tech in particular was very sweet and great at putting our concerns at ease. They took great care to explain everything and let us ask questions, all while petting and paying attention to our 8-month old puppy. I would 100% come back here for the care and attention we got. I called to make sure we could go in and we arrived right after and we’re in and out! My dog was treated with the best care & recommend anyone to treat their animal there if your vet is closed. My dog got antibiotics and cough suppressant right on the spot. They truly care & i felt my pup was in the right hands!!! And affordable!!!!

We took our dog here last night for an emergency at 10:30pm. Our dog received great care from everyone. They were able to see him right away and the pricing was very reasonable! Hopefully we wont have any more emergencies but we will definitely come here if needed!

My dog was misdiagnosed and because no blood work or ex-rays were ordered and it cost my pups life.

My cat was previously treated for a UTI at another urgent care and needed to be seen again but that place and everywhere I was calling had a 4-6+ hr wait. Being an hour away from these places, in every direction, I was going crazy trying to figure out what to do. My last hope at 7:30pm was animal urgent care. The lady on the phone was already calming for me. She was pleasant and expressed concern. Did explain that they are walk-in only but I should be fine. Took me an hour and 10min one way but it was worth it. They let me come in with her instead of waiting in the car, we were brought to a room right away. Vitals were taken right away then sat maybe 10min before my cat was brought to the back to be examined by the doc. When speaking to the doc, she eased my concerns and came up with a reassuring “successful” game plan to avoid costly procedures and stressed that it’ll be life term. The whole visit from arrival to departure, was about 45min so I was VERY pleased with the place and will continue to choose animal urgent care for any potential future urgent needs

Walked in an hour before closing they still took care of my pup with smiles on their faces. They were super nice and very caring to my pup. The were reassuring me while I was freaking out, everything was fine with my dog and I was out in half hour feeling much that my dog was ok! Price was affordable too…. Spent $69 for no reason because she was fine but that’s chump change when it comes to my babys health! If I ever have to take either of my dogs to the vet for an emergency I would definitely go back!

Try and catch my drift here but the doctor and anyone associated with the company are c you next Tuesday. Ive made 4 trips to Animal Urgent Care in the last year and I constantly sing their praises. The entire staff is compassionate and efficient. My little Japanese chin had some head trauma that resulted in her eye protruding from the socket on a Sunday night. Within about 10 minutes of arriving, the tech had us all checked in and my dog taken into the back where Dr. Lazarra was able to save the eye. We were in and out in under 2 hours. They are simply the best.

This place was awesome! We arrived around 10pm and were able to be seen right away. The vet tech and Dr. Tai Ogg were super nice and treated our kitty with great care. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommend this place for late night vet visits.

Very grateful this clinic is around. My cat Bouncer was not eating, they took x-rays and gave her meds and fluids. They mentioned there may be a blockage. I took her to my regular vet the next morning and everything is great. My vet was in full agreement with their findings and the treatment they gave. Luckily no blockage, but my vet understands why that was mentioned. I highly recommend this clinic.

Had to take my puppy cause she was recently spayed and it looked like one of her stitches popped, they were so good with her and definitely eased my mind since my vet couldn’t see us til tomorrow! This place is a life saver. My 19-yr old cat had a very painful, smelly mouth, but was considered too old & risky to do a dental on. I took her to Animal Urgent Care hoping they could just make her feel better. To my surprise, they were willing to do a dental on her. She came thru it fine & even gobbled down food afterward. I am so thankful for AUC possibly saving my cats life. They were so kind & efficient. THANK YOU !!!!

What a GREAT emergency clinic for your pets!! I had to take in my very big baby for an urgent visit after he caught his dewclaw on something and almost wrenched it out. He was bleeding everywhere and in a lot of pain. 😥😥 My vet was booked so I took him to the emergency vet in Crown Point. They took him in right away and before I knew it, we were on our way home!! All fixed. He didn’t bark once! And the price was extremely reasonable!! Thank you thank you thank you Melissa, the vet and the rest of the staff for providing EXCELLENT CARE!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have been to this urgent care with my pets two times. They have such a loving bedside manner I am just so impressed. Recently my five month old puppy was in a lot of pain and I took him to my vet in the vet did not help. I brought him then to the Urgent Care and they took the time to listen to me yeah and took the test and did what they need to do to resolve my dogs pain immediately. After playing, my dog stopped using her back leg. I was so worried it was broken!!! When I arrived at Animal Urgent Care, I was greeted with such care and compassion, and so was my dog! My sister brought her dog in on an EMERGENCY basis for her dog, and she was turned away! Because she had her 2 Yr old with her! And then was told well you cant have someone to watch him?.. Like what!? When its an emergency Im pretty sure she cant just call up a babysitter! Either wait for a babysitter or let the dog bleed out!? Absolutely unbelievable!

This place is excellent & very caring. Our cat has pancreatitis & was experiencing another episode of not eating or drinking while being very lethargic. Due to the holiday, there was no way of getting her in to our usual vet and she needed immediate care. I called several animal emergency facilities and got different explanations on when theyd be able to see her. I expanded my search and found this place. Their excellent reviews are spot on! From the time I called until the time we left our visit with them, everything could not have been more excellent. This place was an hour drive, but I didnt care. I just really needed someone to take care of our pets urgent health need. I highly recommend this place and will gladly go back if needed. Their prices are very reasonable versus other immediate pet care facilities. Everything is explained up front and if shots or IV is needed, they go over the cost of everything prior to continuing treatment. Very thankful we found this place on a late Sunday afternoon that was able to immediately care for our pet.

Very caring place! A few weekends ago we had to take our senior diabetic cat in out of our regular vet hours. He had very low glucose levels. They immediately got started on treatment. They had him through the evening to make sure his glucose level stayed at a good number. He was happy and alert when we picked him up. The doctor and staff explained everything very well and also had the information to our vet by the time they opened on Monday. I would definitely use them again if and when an emergency arises.

Doctor is extremely rude. Very unpleasant. Customer service goes a long way. I witnessed her tell a lady to put a mask on her baby while I was walking in next door. A baby??? COME ON! Had to stop and ask the girl what happened because I was so shocked.So if you don’t want to mask your baby, don’t go here.

This past Friday night I knew something wasn’t quite right with my 14 year old cat moses, I work for a vet clinic who refers our patients to see AUC for after hours care. So I instantly drove over to their clinic.The lab work confirmed my worst fear, he was very very sick, it happened almost over night, he would have needed very intense medical care that would simply not be fair to put my sweet scared old man through. I asked Dr. Lazzara what she would do, she gave me her honest answer, she knew how much I was struggling to make a decision that I just didn’t wasn’t to make. Cassie (the vet tech) was so gentle and kind to moses, I could feel the compassion from everyone there.I had to say goodbye to my sweet moses, I was able to hold him while we said goodbye, it was peaceful and calm, and I can’t thank the animal urgent care staff enough for helping me through the hardest time of my life.They truly care about these animals, listing all the options and coming to a conclusion that works best for all parties involved.Thank you Animal Urgent Care.

The staff here is AMAZING! I unfortunately had to come twice this week. The first visit was for a stray kitten with an upper respiratory infection that was really worrying us. Our regular vet didn’t have any openings for 2 days, so we opted for urgent care. I expected to be waiting quite a long tine, but our appointment was quick and efficient. Both technician and Doctor were kind, compassionate and wonderful to work with. The kitten started improving by the next morning!My husband had to just take one of our older cats in for not using her rear leg. Of course, she waited until Friday of a holiday weekend to have an issue, so off to AUC they went!He was blown away by the experience with how quickly he got in and out and how great everyone was. Dr even asked how the kitten was.I hadn’t needed them before this week, but I’m so glad they are there! The pricing is incredibly fair and I have nothing but great things to say about them. A wonderful alternative to the Emergency vet.

Absolutely horrible customer service by the DOCTOR! Had to put a dog down and was completely rude with how she handled their “Covid” policy even though the state has lightened restrictions. “I don’t really care how you feel” is not a professional response given the situation. Other emergency vets in the area so I would suggest going elsewhere.

Had to do a visit tonight with my pup! I called the facility before coming, and the technician was nothing short of amazing. I could hear the compassion and care in her voice-instantly calming. When I got to the facility, it was clean, and had no odor which is amazing for a place that services so many pets! We quickly gave a history/summary of the issue, and saw a Doctor within 10 minutes of arrival. The Doctor listened, made eye contact, and was re-assuring. I appreciated how loving and friendly they were with my little boy. While I hope I dont have to go back, if I ever need urgent care for one of our pets, they have our business. They made what I thought would be a difficult process seamless. Thank you so much for the wonderful visit.

Turned us away over the phone, sent us to Schererville. Our precious kitty Doc died seconds later after walking in the door because he needed help & we had to drive so far...basically IF the one in CP had any skill & had taken him in, it would have helped. But they don’t, they let us know over the phone they would not, and that extra 10 minutes did him in. So, thanks but no thanks. Had they bothered, or had the ability, he may have made it. 0 stars. I would caution against trusting them with your loved one.

We went in to have a wound on our cat looked at, and the staff were all so gentle and sweet with him. The care he received was comparable to his own vet, and they made him feel safe. Their prices compared to other emergency vets were incredibly reasonable and we were so pleased with the experience overall. Thank you for making a very stressful situation so much easier!

My 4 year year old puppy dog poked his eye with a stick today and we were suggested to go there to be looked at. Got in as soon as I arrived to the urgent care and Dr. Lazzara was extremely nice explaining everything as she did it while also showing me the damage that that stick did to my sad puppy dog. We got medicine and I never had to leave his side. Thank you for helping us out!

I wouldnt use them for anything. Refusing to treat an animal for an emergency because the client has their baby with them. This might be the dumbest company in the world.

Just left here with my dog. We thought he possibly had something stuck in his airway, but luckily he got it out on the way there. I was still concerned about any possibly damage so we continued with our visit. The staff is extremely caring and pleasant, my dog loved them. I love this place! Dr. Jane and her staff are top notch! Just what this area needed. After hours care at a fraction of the cost of the standard emergency clinic. I speak from experience, We have 4 dogs and had to use emergency clinic 3 times in the past decade. I would say that each visit exceeded $2000. One visit was $3800. Wish this place was around then. Good service isnt expensive, its priceless.

These guys were very accommodating for my husband and I as well as our dog, we had a unique situation and they made it happen for us and now our baby is doing well and enjoying the trucker life thanks a million!!! Very nice and wonderful people also aftercare was ear and I left with no question unanswered!!

I called ahead and informed them that I have a feral cat that I trapped that has a broken leg. I let them know the cat was not being aggressive whatsoever, just appeared to be in a lot of pain and discomfort i.e crying/meowing real loud. I have been saving animals for 20+ yrs so I have dealt with many many animal specialist and are aware of the concerns with feral cats and animals. I asked them if they had experience with feral cats and Beth assured me they could take care of it. After I arrived and answered the initial personal info. questions, I was waiting to see the vet Dr. when she came in acting very standoffish and made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her. She basically just poked the cat twice through the cage, the cat let out a cry and the doctor looked at me and asks how do you know the leg is broken? what makes you think that hes hurt? I couldnt believe my ears, Isnt that what an exam is for. the cats leg was completely curled up and contorted...the FACT of the matter is she/they just didnt want to deal with him.After less than a minute and giving me a couple of options the doctor asked if I wanted a estimate of costs everything, to which my reply was yes (I basically just wanted the vet Dr. to leave because I could sense she didnt care). After Beth returned with an estimate and showed me on a tablet, I told her the costs were a little more that we had hoped to pay. Beth told me there would still be an exam fee $65 and I told her an exam was never even performed unless poking an animal through a cage and asking a customer a couple questions is classified as an exam.They have all these nice sounding quotes all over their website, compassionate, convenient and caring when in fact they appear to be only compassionate to those who only bring in their family pet, convenient unless they have to address issues they they are not experienced with like feral cats (they said they were experienced, very much not true) maybe their useless exam as they call is a little cheaper compared to other emergency vets, but no difference price wise for everything else.What a complete waste of time and money. They must be trained to lie over the phone and are just aiming to get people to come in for basically an extortion party. Thanks for nothing Animal Urgent care in St. John! why are you in the animal business when clearly money is your motivation, not the well being of animals. ?!? Any organization in the business to save animals not willing to be empathetic when circumstances are dire, or only helps when their bottom line benefits first...doesnt deserve to be in business of helping animals.UPDATE: Blocked from facebook and no response from the business/owner. If that doesnt say it all.

Im so grateful that this place is open! I came home from work to find that my dog was sick. First let me say, this an urgent care, and works just like an urgent care for humans. They run the tests while you wait so you get your results when you are there. Ive always had to wait for a call from the vet the next day with results! My dog was treated with fluids and medicine. The vet said that if he wasnt better the next day he may need to go to the emergency clinic. Luckily he got better and didnt require any further care. Ive been to the emergency clinic before and this place is much more convenient and cheaper! I will always come here from now on if my dog is sick before going to the emergency clinic.

Great staff and affordable compared to an emergency vet.

My dog came in because he was having an allergic reaction and the doctor told me she thought he had lymphoma. I understand certain symptoms can look like certain things, but she said it extremely cold, emotionless, and didn’t care at all. Made us seem like we were a bother.I do thank you all for treating my dog for an allergic reaction even though you didn’t think that was the problem, because who knows what would’ve happened he wasn’t taken care of, but a few words of advice:1) when a dog comes in with hives, itchiness, a rash, body swelling, and swollen lymph nodes, consider it’s a severe allergic reaction and not lymphoma.2) consider how you say things and how they can scare the dogs family3) learn how to talk to patients. Maybe act like you care.Glad my dogs personal vet was able to give me a piece of mind and do it while having bedside manner. Never going back there again, even if it’s an emergency.
