Been taking my son here for a couple years now, coach Drew and Matt are very good working with the kids on their level and they also have fun and enjoy the class. Very good teachers. Started doing the adult classes and its very informative. I suggest everyone give it a try!

Both Daymon Smith and the Canabarro brothers are top notch Black Belt instructors. The gym is pretty big and they have a lot of mat space. Showers are onsite and they dont charge a mat fee for visitors. Tons of parking and very easy to get to from the highway. This is the place to train if youre in the Rhode Island area or just visiting. They have a great kids program.

Coventry BJJ is a great place for anyone looking to learn jiu jitsu, self defense or just get a good work out. The school is very friendly and the instructor Daymon is one of the best black belts in the New England Area.

First off, I want to say that I am from Los Angeles (where there are more glitz and glamor gyms than there are truly serious gyms for a fighter/ competitor to train) and decided to visit this gym due to the fact that I have been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and actual MMA fighting for 5 plus years, love the martial arts, and I was staying in a hotel right next to the place. Upon getting there, I met an instructor named Paulo. He was very respectful and a great teacher. He had us do some passing and sweep exercises in the beginning of class after we stretched, he taught some techniques, and then all of the students rolled together. He was paying close attention the whole time to the accuracy of the techniques taught and performed, which I saw as a big plus, and was also watching us as we rolled to ensure safety. Theres never a good thing about training in a gym, and seeing that the instructor in not responsive. I think this is a great place for adults and anyone mature enough to learn the Martial Art of Jiu Jitsu. I would say that Coventry Bjj Academy is a safe, practical and very genuine and thorough place to learn the amazing gentle art of Jiu Jitsu!
