Wanted to share my first time experience with Vander Haags/Nicholas Johnson.Found a set of differentials/gearsets I had been looking for to swap into my Pete. Spoke to Nicholas -the diffs were still in their truck, he said would notify me once they were pulled and gave me a timeframe. Nicholas called once they were pulled as he said he would. Drove from OK to KC, MO to pick-up and couldnt have been any easier.Once home I decided I also wanted inter-axle shaft and yoke/thru-shaft. Nicholas had those items waiting for me when I returned to KC with my diff cores.Discovered the thru-shaft yoke was bent .020. Nicholas promptly had a replacement shipped no charge. Next discovered the slip splines on the inter-axle shaft were rusted beyond repair. Called Nicholas, a replacement shaft is on its way no charge.Vander Haags/Nicholas have treated me great as a customer. The two issues with parts Ive had, they stepped up to the plate and made it right. Cant ask for more than that.

I am not suggesting you this place they sold me defective air coupling hose the mechanic was a good guy but they charge me 1 hour labor which was the guy was trying to fix air leak from brand you hose..30 minutes

Always have the parts I need

I had my truck in for what should’ve been a three day job, was there for eight days, had most of the parts for them to do the job, they didn’t use them all, but they were sure anxious to know if I wanted to keep them or not, so they could resell them, and didn’t offer me anything for them, after I already bought it from them. By the size of the bill sounds like they charged me for most of the time it was there, and I know they weren’t working on it the whole time it was there. Had some things I wanted done while it was in there and they had it apart but they didn’t get to it, now I have to pay for somebody else to do it. So that’s my experience. COVID or not

Lots of parts but the little pricey for used parts

Looking for a used flatbed for a truck and they had a nice 20 footer which fit the bill. Garry was helpful in finding what we need. Only reason they dont get five stars is a few days later when we went back to pick it up they were inattentive and slow in helping load it up.

Had an issue with one of my trucks fuel tank vander haags had it at a reasonable price.

The good thing is that pretty much always have what I need as far as parts go. The bad thing is that the wheels turn very very slowly here. Almost 2weeks to get a part pulled and delivered from another location. In the service department a one day job can easily turn into a 4-5 day job. Currently been waiting on sales department to respond to me for over a week now. Tomorrow I will be looking elsewhere about purchasing a truck

Joe was FANTASTIC to work with. Answered all my questions, took dimensions of the equipment for me, and kept to the promised timelines. Follow-up was always thorough, they tested the generator I was purchasing, worked with me on shipping to a commercial shipping location, and did an all around wonderful job. Took truck in for ac problems . They jumped right on it, late Friday afternoon . In and out in about 2 hours . Was under a load and really could not afford any down time . Fixed it right up, cooling again . Reasonable rates, easy to get to .

Do not buy from this people. All positive comments are from their own people. They sell more expensive than dealers. Especially Freightliner parts. For a used 12 year old tank strap they charge $100. You can buy brand new for $96 at a Freightliner dealer. Feel the difference? Thats about all the parts. Just check out dealers before you heading to this crooks.

Couple weeks ago I had to get a steering box for my truck found that they were the cheapest and when I had issues trying to get the Pittman arm off I brought it back to him and they took care of it great service good parts appreciate what thay do.

I never have wrote a review so this is a first for me. I took my truck in to have it looked at and scanned. After 3 hours and a bill for $500 they still couldnt tell me anything more then I already knew from Google. My advice take it to a known dealership. May cost a little more but you will see results for the money spent.

I bought several parts one including a Cat engine ems display. It did not work after installing to replace an existing one. After trouble shooting, I finally took the front cover off and found the display was toasted in one corner. After a couple of phone calls, it was resolved to return and receive a refund. If you are buying untested parts from them, be sure to ask plenty of questions about return or refund policies before purchasing. Communication on options of a refund were a little lacking. I live 160 miles away which makes it difficult to do in person.

Welcome to vanderhaags they say yes I took a 2006 Freightliner straight truck that was in pristine condition down to them to put on consignment they said they would sell my truck for $1, 500 I thought well thats a pretty good deal so they told me they had to do a inspection on it they did an inspection they put in $800 muffler on it and a couple of other things the bill was $1, 680 that was bad enough so then it sits there for 8 months meanwhile they tell me the onboard computer goes bad so they fixed that for $2, 800 so I go to get it today get 3 miles down the road the check engine light comes on I feel like I got a good screwing from them I would not suggest vanderhaags to my worst enemy

Most delightful and I got out the door cheaper than what I was originally quoted.

We have ordered used parts and new 5x and not once did they get us the right part. When called on it they of course allowed the return but didn’t try to make it right at all....won’t do business here ever again.

Vanderhaags in council bluffs. Is the worst place. I pay for some parts and agree to pick up the part next week. 3 weeks later they still havent take it off. And now they tell us gonna be 2 more weeks. What a joke with this place

Well, I dont usually do this but, read the whole thing.I took 2 trucks in about a year or so ago to have wet kits installed, after taking way longer than promised and coming in at double the quoted price I go to pick up the first truck and it blows a hose (they made) in the lot, turns out all the hoses werent crimped right and I would eventually replace every one, some they did as warranty. That isnt the bad part, as if double price for crap work isnt bad enough, the first pto falls off the transmission about a month in and eats the transmission, number 2 fell off about 2 months later, another transmission gone when all the fluid runs out through the now gaping pto hole. So I suck it up and hire reputable shops to repair both, both used transmissions from another source, two different shops, both over 1 year now with no issues.Well, I didnt use them at all after the first transmission. Last week a set of bearings goes out in a drive axle literally, across the street from their shop, so I give them another shot. Price was a little higher than I expected but it did ruin the housing and they got it in reasonably fast and it was about a week. The very first load it picks up, 1 hour of use, someone forgot to tighten a brake hose, it blew off coming down a ridiculously steep hill, lost all air pressure, spring brakes werent enough to stop it, luckily no one died. Simple negligence is all, but thats been my experience with them.Needless to say, I wont be going back to the service department and Id encourage anyone else to look at other options before using them.

Nice staff, clean facility. But when They worked on my equipment and proved that they couldnt diagnose water coming out of the top of a water fountain. Just under seven thousand later I left with a broken piece of equipment.

Horrible service.. lots of parts but the service is the worst ever.... i waited 1hr or more with the guys just looking at me,i just said f#$# it and took off. i would rather pay full price my time is worth more... and the guy just kept saying another 5 mins... go if you have no other choice
