My experience with Sear Appliance Home Warranty program has been the worst experience I have ever had with a repair company! I would like to warn anyone thinking about signing up for this warranty program to be aware that the service companies that Sears Warranty company contracts with are unskilled repairman. They have very little experience and can not do basic repairs! The warranty company automictically denies you for any repairs and you can not call them to explain that the repairs are covered under their coverage plan because they do not connect you to a customer rep. The do have a place on their website where you can ask a question about a claim but you are limited to only a few characters.I highly do not recommend this warranty company and I think it is a huge waste of money and time. Buyer beware!!!!! Pretty much a rip off, it is better to pay for a good repair company then to waste your money with the Sears home warranty Program!!!! You will not get qualified appliance repair people and you will waste very preciouses time try to get your appliance fixed. In the end I was able to fix my appliances with you tube videos by myself. Really showed me how incompetents these repairmen were or corrupt. So sad! All my neighbors had the same experience and all ended up canceling.

Our Sears repairman, Phuong, replaced the digital display on our stovetop, which involved removing the old computerized component and installing a new one. He explained his work, was very conscientious in making sure the new piece worked perfectly, and finished by cleaning out the stovetop burners so the flames were back to their original intensity. We appreciated his professionalism and friendliness

Upon discovering my washing machine was displaying an error code F 02 confirming the inability of the machine to complete the Drain & Spin portion of the cycle, I assumed I had a broken drain pump and went online on a Sunday to schedule an in-home repair. The earliest date available was the following Wednesday between 10 am and 2 pm. Prior to the appointment I removed the washer and dryer from their location and positioned them in a manner to facilitate optimal access for the technician to diagnose and perform the repair. After waiting until 3:30 pm with NO COMMUNICATION FROM SEARS OR THE TECHNICIAN I first went online and attempted to get an update via the Chat service. After their inability to confirm a new arrival time and expressing my anger I was given a phone number to speak with a live person. This representative confirmed the new arrival time of 5:15 pm and shared with me the technician was given eight appointments in the 10 am - 2pm time window and I was number 7 of the eight ! This revealed the companys unrealistic expectations of its technicians in the field in addition to the inadequate communication with the customers on their schedules. At this point I was faced with having wasted 7 hours of my day waiting for the repair and the possibility of necessary parts not being available from suppliers who were now closed ! So, I decided to attempt the repair myself and went onto YouTube and found a tutorial on my problem. In retrospect, I wish I had done this first, and strongly suggest everyone do this before scheduling a repair. I was successful in solving the problem without needing a new pump in less than 30 minutes. However, after removing both the front and back of the machine for access, I discovered some broken parts unrelated to my initial problem, so I waited for the technician to arrive to provide a diagnosis($99) before putting everything back together. When he arrived he apologized for the poor scheduling and quoted $300+ to replace the two broken shock absorbers. Realizing I fixed the drain problem myself, he suggested I also install the new shock absorbers and save money on the parts ($60 ea) and installation ($100 ea) and was nice enough to provide some tips and show me how it is done using the existing parts as examples. The following day I bought the parts locally for $57 each and installed them in TEN MINUTES WITHOUT ANY TOOLS !!!! My two major complaints are : 1) Overbooking the technician in the given time window and 2) not communicating with the remaining scheduled customers as to the revised arrival time estimates.

I have a Sears maintenance contract. I have been trying to get my dishwasher serviced for four months. Sear sent out a technician who came out once and never returned and would not return any phone calls. We called Sears repeatedly at least 20 times and every time we called they had no record of our previous call . our issue was never resolved the repair man said the part was back ordered. We checked with Sears parts ourselves and the part was not back ordered. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against both Sears and OC washer services and neither company responded. I feel this sears appliance contract is a total scam and I would stay as far away as possible. I feel they just gave us the runaround until we finally gave up which I think is what they do to most people. Horrible .

The repairman did not make it at the original time which was the end of the day but we were notified ahead of time and he was on time for the rescheduled time. He was great at explaining what the prior repairman said was bearings and we might as well buy a new washer. It ended up only costing us the cost of a visit and the Sears repairmen explaining what was making the noise, which was normal for a front loader washing machine. I will absolutely use them again.

Communication was good, tech was on time, wearing a mask and worked quietly and efficiently. The only issue I do have is that prior to the repairs not relating to the ice maker, the ice maker worked fine. Once the repairs were made to the freezer, it no longer functions. I dont know for sure that it is related to the repairs made to the freezer, but coincidence that it now does not work. It would cost me the diagnostic visit for Sears to come out again which is over $100. If the problem occurred as the result of the repair work (perhaps something was not reconnected or not reconnected properly, I dont know) but I think Sears should at least come out to see if that may have occurred without charging me for the visit. They do not appear to want to do that.

This was the WORST customer service experience of my life. After taking my money they told me several times they had no idea when the parts would come in and I just needed to wait. It took 40 days to get parts and the repair. I spent hours on the phone, email, and chat with customer service reps and was told three different times when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I am the highest you are allowed to speak to. Another rep told me I had the choice to go away but they would not refund the parts fees that they could not deliver. The original repairman came, barely opened the doors to the fridge charged me for parts and a couple of hours of service for a piece of the fridge that proved not to be broken. I requested they cancel the ice machine part and they refused. I would NEVER, NEVER use this service again or buy a Whirlpool or Kenmore fridge.

I used the chat feature. I was already aware of the problem and what part was needed. I included the model number and that I wanted the part replaced. The technician came and told me what I already knew and then had to go get the part to replace. I assume the very high labor cost was figured on the time spent and well as expertise. He seemed to be more interested in selling a warranty than fixing the problem. He was quite nice and friendly. My main problem is that the people on the chat did not inform him that I wanted the part replaced and that he should have the part with him. This was all over a leaking ice maker. It had rusted on had a hole that caused the ice to be blocked.

I added one star since the system will not allow zero stars. Mr. Lorne B. spent more time trying to sell me a one-year house warranty than he spent maintaining the appliances. As evidence of my needing such a warranty, he said that the water valves leading to the washer were frozen. They are not frozen. He also pointed to one of the valves and said it was leaking. I put my hand on the spot where the valve and the hose joined and there was water there. It had never leaked before. In fact, it does not leak now, since any leak at this point (whether an act of God or sabotage) can usually be fixed by tightening it by hand. This brings us to the dishwasher. He said we were using ...too much soap... and wanted to know what soap we used (did he also sell dishwasher soap?). I showed him the automatic dishwasher pellets (Finish) that we used and I explained that I doubted if the pellets were designed to be divided. He was silent until he discovered that the dishwasher sent waste water to the overflow and into the sink. This is a situation that had existed for some time. I asked if he could remedy the situation and he said that it was beyond the scope of his visit but a house warranty would take care of it. Then he read off a litany of disasters that could happen if the situation were not corrected. Either the man is completely incompetent or is completely dishonest. I will not judge. But I do not want this man back in my home.

My Samsung washing machine was getting the code for slow draining. I told the technician this and also said that it was recommended that we check and see if the drain was blocked. The repair guy ran the machine and told me I needed a new drain pump - a$500 repair. I asked him if he cleaned the drain. He said yes. My machines were fairly new and I asked if it was under wArranty. He ran the model/serial number and tried to tell me my machine was almost 20 years old. After I got him straight on that, we figured out the machines were 3 years old and the warranty expired. So I ordered the drain pump. A different repair guy came to install the pump. He leaned down took off a small panel on front of machine and opened the drain. He said oh, your drain is blocked. It just needs to be cleaned. You don’t need a new drain pump. I got stuck pay for 2 $100 service calls.

I was told when I made the appointment that I would receive a text or call 45 minutes prior to the arrival of the technician, that would have been perfect if that really happened. I received a text that the technician was on his way so I left work, which is 10 minutes from where I live, but by the time I got there he was already there and gone. I had to call the service center to try to get him back as quickly as possible as I needed to get back to work. I had to wait an additional 45 minutes until he arrived, then the time it took to complete the repairs approximately 30 minutes. I was late getting back to work. I therefore request a call when he is on his way - say 15 minute lead time. I was informed this is not always possible - not sure why??. In any event, the tenant was home when the technician arrived, but the repair was completed before I arrived some 15 minutes later. I would have liked to seen the repair performed for future reference. I would say it should be possible to honor a request for a 15-20 minute lead time on arrival.

The service tech arrived at the time he told us. He was very polite and helpful; however, the service policy that sears now has is very poor. We purchased this refrigerator in 2012, and it works well. The refrigerator handles had the paint chipping off, both handles. The previous service tech noticed this and ordered the replacement handles. They arrived a few weeks before we scheduled a service call. During this call we found out that not only were the handles not covered but also the labor was not covered to install them. The price quoted was $441.56 for labor and handles $212.66. At this point we became very shocked !!!. All of our sears appliances are covered by service agreements and we have never had a problem with our repairs in the past. We had the service tech call his management so we could explain our complaint. After some discussion the labor charge of $441.56 was waived, but we had to pay for the handles. We did not know that the handles were not covered. We did not order them, the previous service tech ordered them. Had we known this,we would have taken care of this ourselves.Given this experience, we are wondering why we purchase service agreements.

Sears home warranty HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE< HORRIBLEBefore I start to complain about our claim with Sears Home Warranty, I need to give you a little bit of background about what we went through for the two and half months that it took to fix our refrigerator by Sears home Warranty.Started on last year early November that We noticed that our Kitchen Aid side by side Built in refrigerator was not cooling properly. That was On November 2nd that we made the first call to Sears and asked them to send some one to diagnose the problem, they gave us November 8th appointment for technician to come and check it out.On November 8, Sears technician showed up and after his trouble shooting he found the problem and he said it needs part to be ordered & he will be back to fix,it when the part is arrived, He estimated the part & labor came to $534.30 that he asked me to pay 50% of it as a prepaid which I paid him with my CC $ 267.15 that day.On November 15th, different technician came and installed the part and recommended that, if we buy Sears Home owner warranty plan, we can get 50% discount on our first claim while in the first 30 days of waiting period for plan to be activated, which I accepted it and I did signed up for that plan & he said he considers that repair as our first claim and gave us credit for the remaining 50% of our balance and left, later the same day, we realized that the refrigerator hasnt been fixed and it doesnt work, we called Sears to send back the technician, they gave us another appointment for November 18th from 8-12 AM but no one showed up, later that day in the afternoon we got a call from Sears that their Technician has called sick that day, and they needed to rescheduled it for November 22nd 1-5 PMOn November 22nd no technicians showed up till 4 PM, we called the center, they told us they are going to be late since their earlier job took them longer, nobody showed up that day and we were sitting and waiting at home all day, next day they called and rescheduled it for after Thanks Giving Holiday on November 25th, YES WE DID SPEND OUR THANKS GIVING HOLIDAYS WITHOUT REFRIGERATOR AND NO ONE IN SEARS HOME WARRANTY DID CARE?Finally on 25th, different technicians showed up and after their trouble shooting they told us that the first technician has diagnosed it wrong and he has replaced the part that hasnt been the problem, that is why it didnt fix it, I asked them to remove the new part and put the old working part back in place if that is not the problem, but they said we cant do that, Sears will give you credit for it, we mention it in our report. They ordered some more parts and asked us to call the center when the parts arrived. On December 2nd, After the parts has arrived the technicians came back and installed the new parts and service the freon and tested it this time, It was working properly. The cost of parts and labor for that day came to $ 1,454.50 which after 50% discount we paid them $ 726.25 before they left, (the copy of receipts are attached).we paid almost $1,000 and 2 and half of our time till finally the refrigerator was fixed on Jan. 18My question is who is responsible for all these chaos? how are you going to compensate for all these terrible times that we were waiting home patiently and had nothing accomplished at the end of that day? Why we as a customer had to be penalized for one more week waiting if your technicians couldnt make the appointments if their earlier job that day took them longer or got sick?Your unprofessional technicians with their lack of knowledge and experience have diagnosed the problem wrong and replaced the good operating parts per your various technicians that we visited all these time, not once or twice. and every time we had to wait and pay for their mistakes, is that the PEACE OF MIND & AND SAVING MONEY that SEARS advertise for Home Warranty Plan?

The Sears technician arrived on time and went through the process of checking out our Whirlpool washer. He was professional, polite and went through his diagnostics quickly. He then counseled us on the proper loading methods of the machine. We were pleased with his work and will not hesitate to call him back if and when needed.

The second technician who was sent out to fix our dishwasher was courteous and experienced. Its been a week and my dishwasher is working fine so I believe the problem was fixed. I purchased the one year service agreement for $200 and it covers up to $500 in repair. If the problem is still not fixed, theyll apply $500 towards a purchase of a new machine. I think this is good deal. Id recommend Sears Appliance Repair.

In a word, horrible. Technician lacked cleanliness and friendliness previously experienced with Sears technicians. Technician refused to service the oven because the sticker with the serial number was not there. I had receipts for the past 10 years showing purchase, past service agreement, and most recent service. Purchased a floor model 10 years ago. Not sure there was ever a serial number sticker. Technician refused to check into prior service for the information he needed.I have an independent technician coming to service the oven at a more reasonable cost. If I could have selected 0 stars, I would have.

Arrived on time, followed protocol on the additional items he was there to perform maintenance service, he found that one of our appliances (dryer) was not operating properly as my wife explained that periodically it would take longer than usual for some loads to dry, he called and made an appointment to have a repair ticket and schedule the appt. for the service. Everything was completed to our satisfaction without any complaint or problem. Good service as usual.

I would give them no star if I could. Sears came and repaired my refrigerator. They replaced a circuit board. I paid $320 and 5 days later the fridge has the same problem, temperature in the fridge section rose again. I called them up as Sears has a 90 day warranty on their parts and labor on the repair. I spent more than 30 min on the phone, the operator transferred me back and forth between Sears appliances and A&E, their affiliated repair service. They ended up transferred me to GE Monogram to make an appointment to service without telling me that GE is not part of Sears Appliance. Remember I was looking their 90 day service warranty. GE came and diagnosed the problem. They said the previous technician didnt fix the problem. They ordered parts to repair and it would cost me another $600 including $108 service call. I realized this was not a warranty service but a new service call altogether. GE said they are not affiliated with Sears Appliances and know nothing about my previous repair. I called up Sears and asked for refund of $320 as they didnt fix my fridges problem. After 20 min on the phone. They refunded me $65. They told me that is all they call do. I ended up paying $855 for the fridge repair.Their service operators are so disingenuous. They dont know how to deal with customers and lied to me on the service warranty call when they realized they couldnt service my GE Monogram fridge. They could have told me in the beginning that they dont service GE Monogram and has me call GE. Instead their tech went ahead and repair anyway. Beware of their service warranty!

I paid $175 to have the repair guy put a new clamp on the vent hose attached to my dryer. After he left I was able to run one load of laundry in the dryer. Then two days later, I got an error code on my dryer, F01. I looked that up online; it meant my dryers motherboard was bad. Kind of suspicious that two days after a repair guy left my house, I then get an error code on the same appliance he just fixed. I feel I should get my money back ($175) that I paid to have the dryer clamp replaced since I was only able to use it for two days. That is NOT worth $175. When the repair guy came again (they sent the SAME GUY! :( this time he told me it would be $500 to fix the motherboard. I said no thank you and had him leave. When I purchase a new dryer, it will not be through Sears who sends these horrible repair guys out to fix things.

They do not even deserve 1 star.Absolutely the worst repair service around.I recommend you look elsewhere for appliance repairs. These people take forever to show up, and when they do, they steal parts from other appliances to try to fix what they had the parts ordered for instead of installing the new part.Yes you can say I am pissed, because of the treatment I received from Sears. Here’s a new sales promo Sears.Sears we do whatever it takes to piss of and deceive our customers. And they wonder why they are going out of business. It’s because you hire incompetent people.

Service was great all 3 times!!! Yes, it took 3 times to repair our Maytag washer lid. First time 2 repair men had to determine what was wrong & order new lid/parts. 10 days later a different service repair man came out to determine what he had to do! He did not know what he was there for!!! He attempted to fix the problem, but unfortunately the 1st guy didnt order all parts needed. 10 days later...another repair man showed up - & guess what, he did not know what he needed to do!!! Why is there no information on the service repair sheet from the previous repair men???? Every person that came out was polite, but the too wondered why there was no prior information provided. The machine is fixed & I will use you again, but you seriously need to upgrade your service information as it is very frustrating to have to explain things 3 times to 3 different repair men!

My ongoing issue with my refrigerator is still ongoing. The repairman came on the 21st of June and installed parts. The refrigerator worked for a couple of hours and stopped working it is worse off now then before the initial repair on the 5th of June. I called on the day of the repair (21st) and was told I had to wait until the 28th of June. Someone should have come out immediately and fixed the issue but instead you drag it out. Now I find out there is a repair place in my city of Costa Mesa? It takes you this long it must be that Sears puts the customers with warranties last and cash (no warranty) paying ones first. I want to remind you I have continually paid for my warranty with many years of not needing service. I still paid. Showing me a receipt with a charge of $550.00 had I not had a warranty and saying arent you glad you have a warranty? No because if I had paid out of pocket I would have called the credit card company and declined the charges because the issue wasnt fixed. The tech spent some time telling me how great a home warranty would be and gave me his details should I decide to purchase one. Why would I do that when I see just how much priority is put into existing warranted customers? So in a nutshell I am not happy with the overall service. This issue started in 8/2017 the tech back then was a no show more than once

The only thing the person on the phone and also the technician were really interested in was selling me the warranty. I called first to make the appointment and was on the phone for about 15 minutes listening to the warranty sales pitch. When the technician came for the appointment the dryer wasnt make the noise I was complaining about. Instead of opening up the dryer and trying to see what the problem was he just tried to sell me a warranty. So if the noise came back. He would come back at no charge to fix it. Finally with a lot of pressure from me he did open up the dryer. Found the problem and it was a simple fix replaced a few parts and it was done. The sales pitch was so overwhelming that I probably will not use your service again. I just wanted service not to be sold warranties. Both the service technician and phone service personnel were very nice and polite. I am sure they are told to do the sales pitch. But that really doesnt speak well of Sears as a company.

Im so glad I bought the Sears Master Protection Agreement. The valve in my 2012 Whirlpool Duet could not be replaced, so after 4 weeks (of not having a washer, waiting for the right valve) I received credit towards a replacement. Sergio, the technician, who helped through the whole process was knowledgeable and professional. Sears, however, NEEDS TO HIRE MORE TECHS!!!! I had to wait a week each time I needed to schedule an evaluation, schedule another visit (since the first tech didnt show), replace a part, and research another part, and wait for benefits to approve a replacement. The automated calls and emails are an improvement from years past.

We have had the Sears Master protection warranty plan for 7 years. I would always recommend it to my friends. Initially, the technician’s that came out to repair our appliances were very good, and were able to repair the appliances the first visit. Now twice in this year, we have gone without a washer for 7 weeks, and a dryer for 4 weeks! We waited for 2 weeks before they could send someone out for repair, and then come to find out they didn’t have the correct parts. The customer service is awful, and scripted! Nothing is more irritating than to be answered via a script. Needless to say, I don’t recommend them anymore. If you have time/patience to play their game, you will eventually have your appliances repaired.

Although the tech was running very late I was kept in the loop and offered the option of rescheduling. Once the tech arrived the issue was diagnosed and fix established quickly. The cost of the part was much higher than I thought it should have been but since I was not able to do the fix my self and I needed the dryer it was paid and the dryer was fixed and working great!

The repairmen did a good job but the people that take your call to schedule service scheduled me 8 hours away. I called multiple times to correct the problem. It seems that they did not understand me and asked me to repeat my address several times but still got it wrong.Communication was very poor. The part was ordered and finally installed but being service oriented was very poor and could be improved upon.

Miserable experience. Waited four hours for appt which was re-scheduled to the next day. Waited 3 3/4 hours for repairman who misdiagnosed the problem. I pointed out to him that the door lock wasnt registering with the washer (no light). He said I needed a new panel so I waited 8 days. That repairman said all it needed was the door lock, which he had on his truck.

If you dont expect the same day service you will be fine, however once they assign a day the service person always on time within a four hours window, they will call you a day before to remind you of the appointment, also the service person will call you to let you know what time will be at your site, Mark is an excellent service repairman, always on time and very professional, he is very knowledgeable, however Sears uses different vendor for parts and all are refurbished, that where it get tricky, three parts later got one working. This is not the repairman fault is the Sears vendor fault for sending the faulty part without making sure it is working they not only wasting the repairman time also the customer ., I would advice Sears to use better and more reliable vendor. I want to commend Mark for excellent job he did when he found out the part is not working, called his office since this was the second trip, Mark made sure the management aware of the customer not happy to have to wait for two days for the part, the management order a courier to deliver the part the same day, Mark came back later and installed the part all working ok. Over all I am happy with Sears and Mark services, yes I would use them again, I hope Sears deal with vendor that has quality parts.

Unhappy with the fact that there isnt a Sears repairman who came to our house, but rather they sub their repair work out to a place called A & E. The guy who came was over an hour late, past their 4 hour window, no call from him. When he got here, my dog was barking, but totally separated from where he was and he told me that the dog barking was really, really annoying. He was upset that he lost $20 and had no money for snacks on his way to our house. I offered him food and he kept saying, No, thats ok. He continued to gripe about this saying that he didnt even make $20/hour and how he was hungry. I offered him food about 5 times, and he refused every single time. He then had to switch from my dryer preventative maintenance service to my dishwasher preventative maintenance service and so I wanted to move the dog outside so that he was separated from him. He wouldnt close the door and insisted that I didnt know what I was doing and that We arent supposed to have to be by dogs. I said, I know, Im trying to get you to close the door so that the dog is outside. He wouldnt do it....he shook his head and said I didnt know what I was doing. What a jerk......I was so happy when he left. I wish Sears would sent their own repairmen to my house as I have 3 appliances that need PM service, and this is not the kind of service I expected.
