Will continue to trust John with my vehicles!I was having electrical problems with my taillights and was needing my new headlights to be installed. John was very patient with the project and the front desk kept me informed through the entire process. We had multiple issues come up with the back tail lights where we thought it was fixed but when I would leave I would have to bring my truck back in. I do not blame anyone in this because it was just a big pain and we couldnt figure out exactly what was causing it. After 2 days of back and forth John finally found the solution and I couldnt be happier. The price was super budget friendly and my headlights look amazing!!! Thank you so much!
Great service in a timely manner with fair prices
Super helpful staff and got my car fixed right away! Everywhere else was booked out for weeks and Johns was the only place with decent time management. Super job! 👍
Phenomenal service and very friendly staff! Johns had the best price in town for my car, too.
Had both of my cars serviced there and so far so good.
They charged me $500 to put a sensor in that failed twice during a 1200 trip, and told me what I already knew about my car. Will not be returning here again
These guys took into consideration my abnormally urgent situation and got me in when everyone else was 2 weeks out. I will never be able to thank them enough, but I will send all my friends and family there. Good people. Honest people.
Brought my driveshaft in (already removed from my truck) for a U - joint replacement, and was told it would be back to me by the end of the weekend. I get home and recieve a call an hour later saying that it was ready to be picked up. super quick service. The area around the joint was not cleaned before the new on was installed, so I hope there is no bearing contamination. Its a small point, but I do wish it was done. That said, I could have cleaned it myself but I didnt have the supplies to do so.Anyways, great guys. The person working the front desk was very easy to communicate with and was nice to talk to.
This experience was amazing. John and his team did their best to fix my vehicle the cheapest and safest way possible. It was fixed when they said it would be fixed and it was cheaper than the original quote. I will use them for all of my future needs and recommend them to my friends and family.
I trust Johns. Hes always helpful and honest.
You can trust your car with these guys.
Normally I dont write reviews but for this place I feel like I must give them credit. I went in and had them complete a catalytic converter replacement on my car and the job was well done. What stood out to me, however, was the price that they quoted me was very reasonable as it was, but because they got it done faster than expected they charged me for the ACTUAL labor worked! When I went to pay I was surprised to have a lower bill. They couldve charged me the original quote or even more and I wouldnt have known any better. The shop is not only very professional but also ethical and I will be returning!
I highly recommend Johns Automotive. John and his team of experienced mechanics always have done top quality, trustworthy work in the 20+ years I have benefited from their services for my Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. They have always communicated well with me about my regular maintenance work and calling me to inform me about diagnostics of an issue, estimate of cost and getting my approval for any and all mechanical repairs. They have consistently gone above and beyond to do top work at a fair cost. I enjoy supporting a local, family owned business that always gives me courteous, professional customer service to keep my cars safe and well maintained.
My brother recommended Johns when I first moved to Corvallis in 2005, and Ive been coming here ever since. Theyve taken good care of my 2001 Subaru, mostly routine maintenance and trip checks as my car has been real good to me (knock on wood). But theyve also handled anything else thats come up. Always helpful, reasonable prices, car is done when they say it will be done or even sooner. Have never had to bring it back to get something re-fixed. Im not mechanically minded so its been great having someone I can trust.
Honest guy. Tells you like it is.
Having car trouble when you are away from home is a scary thing. I was recommended to Johns and couldnt have been more pleased. I took my car in a little after 8 a.m. and by 10:30 it was all finished. I would highly recommend Johns to anybody either in Corvallis or traveling through with car problems.
Found and fixed a problem with my car that 2 other shops couldnt figure out. 10/10 will be back for sure.
Ive taken a Honda Accord (93) 2 Toyota 4runners (88 and 00) and our Subaru Outback (06) here several times over the years. My experiences have always been good. Sometimes with preventative maintenance (e.g. valve adjustment) they will tell me I dont need it yet. I appreciate that kind of honesty. I think they charge reasonable prices and know what they are doing.
If you really want to drop your car here, talk directly to John the owner. He took care of me a few times. HOWEVER, when John is gone, you really don’t want to deal with the rest of the staff.I dropped my car here about five times. The last time, John was not around. The engine was shaking and I didn’t know what was wrong with it. It took them four days to get to my car. Then the mechanic charged me around $250 for tightening the bolts that hooks the engine to the machine. The labor takes 30 minutes max. I tried to argue with him about the price, the mechanic started cursing and raising his voice, arguing that it took him too long to figure what the problem was. How is being a novice mechanic my problem? When I turned my car on to check their work, my car was backfiring, and they said it came that way. I tried to talk to the lady at the front desk, she had me wait for 10 minutes while she was on the phone with her friend talking about boyfriends and dating (I’m not kidding). After she was done, I told her my problem, she started yelling and pound her palm on table, arguing that it came this way, and they refused to even look at it, saying that they’re busy for the next two weeks.NOTE: My motive for writing this is that I do not want other people, especially fellow college students, to experience what I have experienced of being ripped off and insulted as a customer, and not be able to do anything about it. I hope that you find a shop that is honest and serve your needs.
We had a pretty bad oil leak that I had John check out. Prior to bringing the car in I checked the oil filter and oil pan plug and tightened them to make sure it wasnt a problem (or so I thought).John looked everything over and determined it was just a loose oil filter. He cleaned up my engine for me and tightened the filter.Everyone at the shop was so helpful despite my own user error. Ill be sure to bring our vehicle back to John in the future if we have any real (or imaginary) problems again. Thanks John!
So my 19 year old college daughter had her engine light on and she went to Jon’s automotive and asked why her engine light was on. Well without disclosing what they were doing at all they took her keys and started doing what they called a “diagnostic check” she had no idea this was happening at all. Then they come back and say everything is fine you now owe us $78. She didn’t sign anything she had no idea what they did or didn’t do as they didn’t tell her at all. He then held her keys captive until she would pay. She refused to pay them as she never even knew what was going on. I called jon and then he proceeded to tell me I know nothing about the automotive business and that this is how things are done and you don’t need to inform the customer what your doing before you do it or even a range of how much it would cost. Then he said that my daughter needs to “grow up” and understand how the real world works. Sorry job but I have taken my car to many places and have never seen such unprofessional in my life. You tried to take advantage of my daughter and she wasn’t going for it. I will say on jons behalf that he finally gave my daughter her keys after 2-3 hours of arguing and he knew that we were not paying a dime to him for him doing nothing . So I guess thanks for that jon. Word of mouth travels fast and in a business like yours I would maybe suggest having a bit more professionalism and inform your customers before you start taking keys from them .
John and his crew know their stuff! We had a emergency major repair, they worked us into their alreadyHectic schedule and we were back on the road in two daysGreat service excellent work for a very major job.Thank you John and crew 👍
My husband and I found Johns Automotive when we moved here from California 8 years ago. They were highly recommended on the Car Talk (NPR radio show) website. Johns has done all the work on our 3 cars since then (old cars, too: a 96 Saturn, a 97 Dodge minivan and a 98 Jeep Cherokee) and the work has been done well, done on time, and at a fair cost. There has been only one time that there was a problem with work one of Johns technicians did on my car. As soon as I notified him, John made sure that my car and I were taken care of ASAP and I was back on the road in just a couple of hours. I would recommend Johns to anyone.
Johns is reliable and friendly! They can always fix you up and get you back on the road.
Did extra work on my car without consulting me about it. When i confronted the receptionist about it the older Jon, who I was told was the owner, immediately started accusing me of simply not wanting to pay. He told me multiple times he had spoken with me that morning letting me know what was going to be done to the car. Once I told him that was false his voice raised higher and higher until he was red in the face from yelling. The work was well done the customer service was unbelievably unprofessional. I will be taking any and all vehicles elsewhere and will tell friends and family the same.
Ive been taking our cars (mazda pickup, subaru outback) to Johns for 10 years, and Ive never been disappointed. Theyre always able to get me scheduled the same week, provide shuttle service, and are prompt, competent and honest in diagnosis and repair. Problems have either been fixed, or, if its something that either doesnt need to be fixed or isnt worth fixing, John will tell you that. In my experience, they go out of their way to provide honest, quality service.
Great work always on time and the employes are always helpful...they never take advantage of your lack of auto knowledge.
I had very bad experience with this place. I had a long detailed description with everything but GOOGLE deleted it (well done GOOGLE, learned lessons from China). I will keep posting if they delete this review again. The bottom line is: John replaced (or maybe he did not) something on my car that is NOT causing the problem, and charged me $400+ for it. When the problem persists he would not admit it and refused to do anything about it.
Easy and friendly service. Trustworthy
Quality repairs with reasonable prices.
Takes care of my car.
Great to deal with honest and hard working shop!
Nice people, know their stuff
I was over-charged and they billed me for work I didnt ask for. I mean, seriously, it should not cost me $94 for an oil change.
Good guys and fair
Good mechanics
