Usually closed on a Monday, but with Monday Night Football starting up, surprised to see it opened! Bartender stated owner wanted to see if the football crowd would show up? Wife and were only guests upon arrival and we were treated like royalty: personal host, personal bartender, personal chefs! Appetizer arrived quick and tasty and steak arrived shortly there after. Cooked to order, thick-cut, tender, and great flavor.
My family and I dined here for the first time, last week. Our server was not very friendly. We asked her what she recommended and she replied with, “it’s whatever your preference is”. I had to text my friend to ask her what she recommended. The food was good but very overpriced. My husband got the surf and turf plate and the steak looked like the size of a cookie. Not worth the 30 dollar price tag. And then came the seven dollar chocolate cake that was so small it was hilarious. Very overpriced menu with very small portions. Do not recommend this place.
Wow! Pleasantly surprised...after seeing a near empty parking lot I was a little weary of the high reviews. If its so good how come nobody is here? Is my food going to be fresh? It was not only fresh but homemade and you can totally taste the difference in the dressing and cheesecake! They use pounded ribeye in their chicken fried steak that was so tender and delicious!
Horrible service. My party had the incorrect food brought out, and the other waitress was being combative with us and belittling the other staff. Food was mediocre. I wouldnt return.Edit to the response.I believe you must have me mistaken with someone else. My party had 6 people. Not 13 as you stated. I was asked by the staff how I wanted it cooked and was confused by the question, and said medium rare. I was then informed later the chicken fried ribeye were only cooked one way and I agreed and understood that. I don’t know who your former chef is, and never asked or a comp. We paid for our meal and tipped our waitress well, it was another older waitress who was working, not our waitress that was extremely confrontational, saying we were incorrect for ordering the food. And starting to degrade us for ordering the chicken fried ribeye steak. I’m appalled you employee someone that is so awful and you would try and slander me in such a way. I understand how an item is cooked, maybe you should work on correcting communication with your kitchen staff and treating customers better. Miss Ara was never at my table, we never were disrespectful of our waitress. I must be confused with another much larger party that had issues…
We stopped here for Memorial weekend and the place was not crowded which I loved. We had 2 little kids with us, our server was super sweet! Pricey, but you get what you pay for! Definitely coming back here again 👍🏼
Food was okay. I think we would have had a better experience had we dined in.... (possibly).... I definitely DO NOT recommend ordering through GrubHub because the menu does NOT match the actual restaurant menu! Sides were missing/improvised, breaded item wasnt even breaded and nothing matched up with what we THOUGHT we were paying for and ordering based off the GrubHub Aras menu! VERY disappointing, especially for the money spent which was nearly $80 for 2 mains & a bar appetizer. We ordered 3 items, and none were as advertised. You shouldnt coordinate doing business with delivery companies unless your 110% certain that your delivery menu items and options are being identically advertised to mirror your dine in options and pricing!!!
This place was okay. We visited around 6 pm. We were the only ones there during the whole time. The food was okay. The salmon, the special, was not worth the 29 dollars but oh well. The environment was great and our two servers were excellent. I loved their floors. Would I go there again, probably not.
Brunch was a disaster. Went in and the waitress taking our order didn’t write anything down. Brings out the wrong order as we wait mentions the chef is preparing a part of the order but not all of it. No customer service. Asked for our check and left. Don’t recommend for brunch there is a reason there isn’t a wait because locals know better than to come here.
We came to Aras because we had a meeting planned they had a nice little room with doors for privacy ...service was excellent our waitress bent over backwards to accommodate our needs..The appetizers and food was excellent..I will definitely go back.
Aras is a great local option. Food is great and the bar is well stocked. Personally I love their glassware. Something about a really great glass makes a drink taste better. In addition to regular dining or drinks, it is a great place to reserve for business events. Definitely worth a visit.
I recieved 8 shrimp with fries for over 20 dollars and my bf vegetables had so much salt on them they were inedible. The place is nice inside but WAY overpriced for what you get and the food is terrible.
Good variety of food. Was delicious. And the service was outstanding.
The steaks are bland and dry and the lamb is abysmal at best. Food from a bygone era that has refused to move on to more immaculate and delicate recipes. The food is dated and lacks flavor and leans on the dry side at an empty restaurant that seem to only attract alcoholics at the bar with dated appetizers not worth the money. A poor example of dated fine dining that refuses to move on and instead insists of serving food that looks like it was regurgitated by a mother bird feeding its children.
Very good. Different than other Corpus Christi restaurants. Many menu items including Polish and Romanian cuisine. Was my first time there and everything I tasted was delicious. Ill be back.
Called ahead to determine the wait.. Said no wait.. states it closes at 10 on Saturday. Drove 30 minutes.. arrive at 9:14 and a lady states that they are closed.. hummmm Waste of my time & we will not return..
Nice place, great service, menu with a lot of variety and some central/east European dishes. Schnitzel was particular good. The only missing thing was pairing with some European beer
The waitress was really nice, but not very attentive. The staff delivered someone elses appetizer to our table. There was not many people in there, yet it took over an hour for us to get our food. Our ticket was almost $100 and not worth it. The steaks were super thin in the chicken fried steak and was mostly breading. The gravy tasted funny. The caesar salad was $17 because I added chicken to it. Very expensive and the quality of food was not great.
Whether you want an intimate quiet dine in experience or some great laughs with cocktails, this restaurant has it all. Clean professional staff, delicious eats, and a Beautiful bar with the perfect ambiance.
Great food and service. Portions a little small, but good quality and tasty. The dining room and restrooms were very clean.
Best steaks Ive ever tried. Such a clean and pretty restauraunt as well and everyone is so nice! Plan on eating here again.
Excellent food from a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We love the relaxed atmosphere. It’s my family’s first choice for Sunday brunch.
Ehh Ok Service For As Pricey As It Was Lousy We Had To Hunt Down Server NEVER Checked On Us AND Too Much For Something Like THAT Omg REALLY
Food was phenomenal! Fine dining right here in Corpus, but with a casual friendly environment. We ate in the dining area but the bar looked really nice. We had delicious omelets and pierogies. Owner and waitress were lovely!
We went here on a whim while on vacation and spotting this place after driving around and let me tell you, it was so worth it! Our server, Stephanie, was so kind and patient with us and recommended so many amazing dishes to us after hearing that it was our first time. She even offered to water down our childs juice, which was so considerate because no one ever thinks about that! I ordered the eggs benedict which let me tell you were gone in a flash because they were delicious! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious and unique foods. You will not leave disappointed.
Great food, variety of choices on menu.
My new favorite place for a hamburger.I prefer homemade French fries but the burger is fabulous meat. Its slightly more expensive than Whataburger but you get an excellent burger.I would prefer well done instead of med well like we ask.We have family with Crohns Disease and other health issues this is why we ask for well done but my Goodness we have gone 3 times for a burger 🍔 because they are so good.I am hooked and will try other food. Thanks
Place was nice, clean and friendly staff, but its to pricey, we order a plate of 1 fish filet and 5 grilled shrimp with 4 stem asparagus, mashed potato was $45 a plate our total for 2 person was $101.76 no alcohol, fish was good shrimp was salty. We been to other restaurants and same plate its $24, no wonder the place was empty, Will not go back.
The restaurant is completely empty. Here sitting at a neighboring business watching them tow away cars with people in the Vehicle and their parking lot is completely empty! they’re mad cause they have no business. This restaurant is something else. This is bad for business if you ask me. No customer service skills what so ever. I could understand if they had at least one customer but they don’t. Why are they so worried about parking spaces on the other side of the parking lot. Mean spirited people run this joint.
Oh my goodness!! I went for the Sunday brunch and everything was just magnificent about this place !! From the waitstaff being so promo and friendly to the bartender making the drinks to perfection! It was a brunch buffet that I had and there was not one thing I didn’t like. I enjoyed myself so much that I completely forgot to record the whole buffet. It ranged from ahi tuna and smoked salmon, even steak, to a fruit bar and a sweets corner & even biscuits and gravy & pecan crusted oysters!! I plan on visiting regularly just because the food and energy there was so amazing. I definitely recommend this place.
We just had a great dinner at Aras!
We had brunch at Aras. The food was really good and the service was excellent. I will definitely be returning.
Great place for parties!
I work there and eat there. Great Chef Johnny Zapata and staff create award-winning dishes. Mouthwatering flavors
We have been twice. This place is always spotless and the staff is amazing! We have thoroughly enjoyed everything we have ordered. And Bartender is amazing!
The food and atmosphere are terrific here - so much so that I almost didn’t post this review so that the wait to get in wouldn’t grow. Really great gourmet brunch.
Have only eaten here once at a function so there was various food there. It all looked great but since they had prime rib, thats the only thing I ate. It was AMAZING! totally melt in your mouth! Service was outstanding!
Food was excellent everything was well prepared. Will be going back again soon.
I went there for the first time last Sunday at the recommendation of Bob Jones. I had a guest from out of town who wanted to go to a really good place, money was no object. I remembered the ads. I made a reservation. When we got there at 1PM for Sunday brunch, I told them I had a reservation, I did not tell them my name, they said, Mr. Knight, right this way. We ordered the Seafood Platter for 4. It came with Fresh Fish, Shrimp, Hushpuppies, Fried Oakra, and lots of French Fries. My guest ordered Mimosas, only a dollar each. The waiter brought it out on a heated platter. Needless to say, we did not finish it. I asked for a to go box, and the waiter came out with a big foil Pan and did it for us, and put the lid on it. He put extra tarter and cocktail sauce in the bag without us asking. The bill was only 47, and it took me 3 days to finish it all. This is a high class place at value prices. And the service is better than excellent.
Aras changed their menu to offer more selections that are family friendly and for those who dont always want to try exotic new dishes. We love their Sunday brunch, but went for dinner this time. Our experience was AMAZING!! The server knew exactly what he was talking about down to the taste of dishes and had many recommendations. The chef prepared us an appetizer on the house of fried prime rib and it was delicious. My family of 4 was very impressed with the fresh quality of the food. The chicken friend chicken was the best Ive had anywhere! This is an awesome restaurant for a classy night out, or casual dinner with your family. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and you can tell walking in you will get quality food and service. Highly recommend Aras!!
Just recently ate here, and being we went so early for dinner, we were the only ones there, so service was attended to us. Waiter was extremely nice! The food is very pricey, along with the appetizers and drinks, but you do get six very tasty fried shrimp with your happy hour drinks. I had a huge dinner salad topped with prime rib, which was over cooked, very tough, romaine lettuce was somehow cooked and bitter. Other person had drum and it was just so-so. All in all, experience was not unpleasant, nice atmosphere, but for the price it could’ve been a lot better “as far as the main food goes!”
Came for the Brunch and just wow! All you can eat crab cake eggs benedict, Prime rib and an assortment of breakfast favorites all for 24.95 per person along with one dollar mimosas!! Hands down the best brunch in town!! Oh and the service was also excellent! 5 star review !!Came back for the Valentines Day Special and was completely disappointed. We ordered gin and tonics as we sat down and received gin and 7-up because as the waiter explained, they were out of limes (who does that). The 5 course meal came out in the wrong order. We didnt receive any wine during our main course as we were completely abandoned by our waiter. They needed a dedicated wine steward to tend the wine between courses and a dedicated floor manager that wasnt having to seat people as they came in for their reservations. The courses were okay but I would expect much better service at 236.00 for 2 people. They knew they were completely booked so they should have had the appropriate staff. Im rooting for these folks so Ill give them another try. Lowered to 3 star review.
Oh my Heavens!!!! I have to say this was the most delicious Blue Crab Cake, I have ever put in my mouth! Designed special, right on the spot with a perfect pure rich taste!!! Reasonably priced with fabulous service! Executive Chef Davit McDaniel took the time to explain how they design menus and or your dinner on the spot just for you! I absolutely loved this place! I am definitely introducing this place to my friends!!!!Thank you, Aras!
So glad Aras is back on point after the pandemic. The Aras Sampler plate is absolutely fantastic.
It was ok. Nothing screamed lets hurry & come back. High priced, odd smell & why seat us in far corner by wall & kitchen when we are the only customers. I sat at different table & he said that was fine. Plate was small which made them serve my chicken fried steak on top of my mashed potatoes. This made the bottom of my chicken fried steak soggy. Get bigger plates
Friendly detail oriented service. Fantastic menu and cuisine. I would highly recommend Aras for a night out or family event. Great experience!!! Well be back!!!
Amazing FOOD & great priced DrinksWay better than Katz 21Will be here frequently ...Thank you Bartender VictorManger Chris & Ara ...
Was there with a large group of ladiesThe food was very good. For the large group I was with everything came out fresh and hot. Great service
Went for Valentines Day dinner. Was totally unacceptable. Showed up for a reservation at 7pm. Got seated. No drinks were served until 7:30. Had to constantly search for our server. After getting up to get our appetizers, mind you they only had 2 guys working the table, we waited until 9pm and still our entrees were not served. We literally got up and went to pay at 9:30 with still no entrees to be found. The manager offered to cover our brunch next time, guess he didnt feel like covering for this terrible service showing how cheap they can be. Will never come here again for Valentines day. Stick to brunch please and next time please dont be understaffed like last time.
We went for Sunday brunch and of course because of COVID, its now a la cart. I had the burger. It was delicious but unfortunately the service was not. However I would go again.
Wow...best food and service Ive had in Corpus. My husband had chicken fried chicken in a light crispy batter and I had Drum Provencal. My mouth is watering thinking of itYou can substitute sides. Love this classy placeLots of variety on the menu#
Every time we go here we try something different and we haven’t been disappointed yet! Beautiful atmosphere, elegant setting, and top notch wait staff make this a great place to go for lunch or dinner anytime!
My first time to go. But the brunch was amazing and such a great variety on everything. The service was amazing. I cant wait to go again.
My boyfriend spoke well of this restaurant from his previous visit, this one was an utter disappointment. I made a reservation for 4 on Valentines Day almost a month in advance. All seemed well, was called 3 times for confirmation up until my reservation. Was seated in a beautiful environment with a lovely live piano performer. We were given water, bread, and were then told wed be seen shortly. We waited, and waited... Until an hour had passed. They were not horribly busy and employees walked past and glanced at our table multiple times and never were we asked anything once. Upset, as it was almost 9:00 pm, (our reservation was at 7:30), I walked to the front desk and inquired why wed yet to be seen. The employee, seemed unconcerned and gave no apologies and informed us we would be seen shortly. I sat back down, already upset with waiting and carefree service. The employee from the front desk proceeded to our table to take our order. He explained that menu for the night was a fixed 5 course meal that consisted of wine with each meal and we couldnt order otherwise. Firstly, I was never once informed of this fixed $85 a person multi-course meal, secondly, Im not of legal age to drink, neither my friends, and furthermore, how could one drink 5 glasses of wine, consume 5 meals, and expect to make it home safely? I expressed my disappointment and concerns to the employee (wish I asked his name), he simply told us there nothing they could do for us besides that meal and didnt care I wasnt even of drinking age. No Im so sorry for this misunderstanding and long wait Maam. Nothing. It was Valentines Day, my day was long and tiring as Im a full-time college student. I was so looking forward to a great night with my partner and friends. Im not sure if we were being discriminated because of our youth or appearance, but this was just unacceptable. What an atrocious service for anyone to receive. Wouldve loved to try the food, but we will not be returning.
Loved it. Great family place
This place is amazing, a must for steak, drinks etc
I was not impressed. I had Cabbage Rolls. Not worth it. One person had Weinerschitzl. That was very good. The place was not busy but service very slow. I am sure this place will make it.
My husband brought me here for lunch on Valentines day! The food was Outstanding! Cant wait to go back its a beautiful dinning experience. Much better than the usual Corpus scene!
Visited with family for brunch. Staff was excellent!. Food was from various regions of the world and it was all good. So good that there was no room for the various desserts but the owner insisted we take some home. Decor needs a little help in the dining area but it was very clean. A plus in my book. Going back for sure
I dont know where to begin. Just walked out the door a second ago, couldnt wait till I got home to write a review about this place, Im in my vehicle. The food is AMAZING, I came for the brunch and stayed for the $1 mimosas, the service is wonderful, my waiter was Jaime, he was so sweet, everyone was very nice, I cant wait to come again next Sunday. I absolutely love this place!!!!!
Aras Seafood & Steaks’ restaurant is by far the best eating establishment my Spouse and I have frequented since leaving California. We have travelled world-wide and by chance wandered into Ara’s last Sunday morning for brunch, we requested that we be allowed to look at their buffet tables however we were met with much more including a grand tour of the facility and their offering. Our host explained every dish displayed and moreover introduced us to his staff. The chef for cooking the eggs, the baker and the servers, an experience one does not often encounter even at a five star restaurant. Should you decide to indulge yourself in an experience more than just the partaking of food visit this restaurant you will be surprise what it has to offers.Vr,RG & MG
My expectations were too high. I ordered the salmon -- hoping it had more orange flavour. It tasted acceptable. My husband got a ribeye which was the most disappointing. The outside was all charred. It could have been good.
Love the fresh ingredients crust stays crunchy even after reheating!!!
Best Sunday brunch in Corpus. Crab benedict and prime rib in the same place! Great drinks and great service, too.
The Sunday brunch here is AMAZING! there was a huge spread and variety. I highly recommend
Terrible service! Walked in to see that half of the tables were empty and assumed we would be seated immediately. This was not the case as we had to wait for a host for 15 minutes just to tell us that it would be an additional 45 minute wait as there were already reservations. This would’ve been fine if they weren’t terribly under staffed. I could see that the tables that were full weren’t being attended to properly. Do not worth the wait.
Worth the visit. Solid crab cakes, great service!!!!
Perfectly Chef cooked meals at reasonable prices with great Waiter kind and very friendly and informative. A great bar and Banquet area. Beautiful decor and a big plus beautiful jewelry display. A big thanks to Chef John and his Co-Chefs for the best delishous meal Ive ever had in the City of Corpus Christi,. Texas
The place wasnt busy at all which should have told us something. The food was okay. Not the best but not the worst. The soups were good, but the ceaser salad was not. The dressing was very blah. Should have gotten a sandwich. My friend got the club and liked it. This was lunch. Not sure about the dinner menu. Not sure well go back.
First visit. Came for Sunday lunch. Entered to the Please Wait to be Seated sign while others came in as they pleased. When greeted, we were then offered to sit anywhere. We had no idea all that was available was brunch; they only had one menu in the foyer. So I guess we’re having the buffet...Underwhelming. The only thing with any flavor were the strawberries and the bacon, everything else bland as could be. (It’s pretty rough when you can’t taste much from neither the biscuits & gravy nor from prime rib.) Then to hike from the dining area back to the buffet where a wedding party essentially had a conga line around all stations, one has to wonder why they didn’t have their own setup. Then after only seeing $15 and $16 figures on the lone menu in the joint and get a bill for $25 breakfasts not printed on the menu was a bit shocking. The only reason it got two stars was it’s a decent looking place and our server, Liz, was nice while she handled our drinks and bussed the table.Completely overpriced. “Fool me once...” won’t lead to the chance to fool me twice.
Everything was excellent and I had a dish that came with steak and chicken and the steak was great, but I have to say I was suprised when the chicken was just as good, normally chicken just doesnt live up to its potential at other restaurants. Also they were super acommidating with my wifes peanut/treenut allergy and she enjoyed her meal and dessert without any issue.Loved it, thanks for the wonderful evening.
This was our first experience dining at this fine restaurant and we are eager to go back. The food was well prepared (roast duck) and well served. 👍👍👍👍👍
Ordered the surf and turf and it was horrible. The shrimp was not grilled but tasted like it had been boiled and lost all its flavor. The steak was not sliced and seared to perfection as it stated on menu but was served in one whole lump which bled and flooded all my plate when I cut it in half. I sent it back and then it was served sliced but cooked so much that all the edges were toasted. We went on a Saturday night between 8 and 830 and the place was dead. We were the only customers the whole hour we were there. When we walked in there was no greeter so we waited a little while before my husband walked near the kitchen area calling out hello. Next thing we know a young man comes in through the front doors we had come in through and said sorry for the wait. Never will I return.
Great brunch! Prime rib and omelettes. Great environment. I highly recommend it.
We love coming here! My inlaws invited us and now my family comes here!
Most definitely 5 stars. My husband had the special called Triple Threat. It was scallops, shrimp and two crabcakes over fried spinach with a garlic sauce. Let’s just say nothing was left. I ordered a ribeye cut to order it was served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Very delicious meals. The waiter was very knowledgeable & attentive. Bartender was friendly walked me to bathroom as it was my first time there. Chef stop by our table to make sure we enjoyed our meals and told us a little about himself. We will definitely be back. Can’t wait to try the Sunday Brunch!
What a jewel to the Southside. Stopped for drinks on 3-16 ended up staying for dinner with our friends. Staff explained everything perfectly very knowledgeable and hospitable as well. Drinks were fabulous, bartender was awesome kept the drinks coming. I come from Croatian decent so reminded me of home cooked meals by my Dad growing up. Will be back regularly and thank you to your staff for caring about what you serve and knowing how to explain it that is a rarety these days!
From the outset the service was fantastic. There were lots of friendly faces that were eager to enhance our dining experience. Then the food started coming (eggs benedict). Wow. The buffet food for brunch is incredible. It seems expensive at $17 but the drinks are very affordable. The mimosas are $1 and well drinks are $3. The waffles are to die for. We left very satisfied and plan on coming back!
This place is horrid. Slow service. Very limited menu. I ordered a ribeye medium rare, it came out very well done after wed already been there over 1 1/2 hours. I should have taken a clue when he had no clue what beers they had. Also you better like rice pilaf or the veggie du jour because thats it for sides. Only fish the have is black drum. Seems that this place is close to closing the doors. Thatd be a good thing.
Food is exceptional i know the place because mother works there I just went for the first time during one of their Sunday brunches highley recomend
The restaraunt is very nicely done, and I can see where the vision is going with nice jazz music in the background and very polite wait staff. Rating is for the brunch. Went for brunch today around 10:15. Offerings are slim and not much better tasting then any other buffet...anywhere else. Biscuits were hard and sausage was very dry. Being a euro fusion eatery, I thought for sure there would be some flavor. Not a very nice brunch. I have heard good things about the menu, but quality today was a little too low for me to want to try again.
The food was amazing!!! The service is amazing!!! The best crab cakes Ive ever tasted!!! The drum with creole crawfish butter was amazing!!!!! We will be regulars!!!!
This place is always awesome. Great wait staff, great Sunday brunch!
Excellent steaks and seafood. The best ahi tuna Ive every had. Highly reccomended.
Really good. Was there for an event and all the food was great.
Beautiful place. Solid staff
Amazing place to go for Brunch! A variety of Mimosa flavors. Service was fantastic! I highly recommend this place for friends and family dinning!
Food was Wonderful ! David and Randy were Awesome. Our experience was perfect
This place is awesome & the staffs members were great, It is very nice restaurant.👍👍👍👍👍.
Amazing place to have dinner, the food is delicious and authentic European cusine. The atmosphere is great, the service is outstanding. If you come on the weekend there is a pianist that sets the mood just right.
Went there last night for a friends birthday and had great time. Good food and awesome service.
