I called in the morning, got an appointment for early afternoon same day. When I arrived, Nick diagnosed the problem (leaking brake fluid) and had it fixed within half an hour. Thats promptness & efficiency.

I had a great experience with Justin and Nick. My car was leaking a bunch of oil and I didn’t know where to begin. They had a text line so I could send photos and then Nick swung by to take a look and add more oil so I could make it to the shop. They were able to squeeze me in same-day and explained what was wrong and what they did to fix it. It was very affordable and they were very friendly/helpful throughout the whole process. These guys are exactly what you are looking for in a mechanic.

Great service and communication from experienced auto technicians. We had them service a work vehicle and they walked us through every step of the way. No work was done without consent, and they provided pictures with an itemized list of work and suggested future work based on inspection. Will definitely bring them more vehicles in the future.

I highly recommend Kings Auto Repair in Coralville. I took my Avalanche in for what I thought was my U-joints after friends and family told me their thoughts. Kings did a thorough check and called me to inform me that the u-joints were fine, it was my breaks and rotors. Yes it is more expensive than replacing u-joints however they took the time to make a call to make sure I would like to proceed with further work. This hasnt always been the case with other local mechanics. Thanks Kings for the great work, the truck is running great!

I had alternator problems on I80 late at night. I took my car to them first thing in am and they found a way to work me in the beginning of their busy day. Fast and friendly and trustworthy are words I would use to describe this shop! Thanks for getting me back on the road guys.

Around 1996 I had my car towed there. King Auto Repair rescued me from a hopeless DIY repair (swap out a transmission in my Ford Escort, and replace the torque converter). After 2 solid days of work in my garage, I gave up. They finished my job, did it right, did not charge me an arm and a leg, and did not laugh at my failed attempts. I had other work done there before that time and got the same service. I no longer live in Iowa City, but if I did I would still be going there to get my car fixed.

Very helpful and service oriented. They did quality work and I felt like I was informed about what my car needed and what they did for it. They seem very honest and forthcoming.I am relatively mechanically inclined, and it was clear to me that they know what they are doing.

Service was super fast, I was immediately consulted concerning any changes in the diagnosis/repair, and everybody I worked with (Nick, Aaron, and Justin) was extremely courteous. Every question I asked - mechanical or price-related - was answered to my complete satisfaction.I will be coming here with any and all of my future automotive needs.

Nick worked me in for an inspection prior to buying a used car. Fair price and fast service. They even did a little extra at no charge. Friendly and honest - I would highly recommend them.

Explains things for the common customer. Helped us out with a loaner vehicle while they worked on our van. When something came up they werent familiar with, they called the dealer to see if that was something they could work on. Very friendly and honest shop!

Mechanics you can trust! The guys at King’s seem to personally care about every vehicle that comes through the door. I have had my vehicles in for various issues, and they always have the equipment and expertise to solve the problem. If you want to go to a mechanic that you know you can trust to treat you fair, make sure you go to King’s Auto.

I dont wanna give a one star since there wasnt much to my experience. I brought my car in, expecting transmission troubles, but hoping for a better outcome. They called back within a day. I go back to hear the bad news, but they didnt have anything to tell me. They said it was probably the transmission, but they had to look into it more. I just decided to give up on the car, so I asked for the keys back, and they charged me almost $60. $60 to tell me nothing more than what most semi-intelligent people could deduce.

Fast, friendly and they never push any unnecessary repairs. Would recommend.

Kings Auto in Coralville are a bunch of con artists. They tried ripping off one of our kids telling him he needed his ABS brakes (which his truck doesnt have) needed adjusting and told him his brake hoses were bad and leaking (which they arent) and that the calipers need adjusted (that type of caliper doesnt have an adjuster). And they wanted to charge him $650 for that, which had nothing to do with the front end issue he brought the truck in for, on top of the $500 they wanted for the work he wanted done. AVOID KINGS AUTO!

Honestly, the only repair shop I would use. They go to the extra mile to help you out.
