After building a clock over 45 years ago, it finally needed servicing and some repairs. I contacted Bill, from Kew Gardens, and discussed the clocks issues. He estimated the repairs which is hard to do over the phone, but he did.He showed up at my home at the appointed time, assessed the clocks needs and proceed to repair it. About an hour lated, the clock was working like New. I was very happy with Bills knowledge of clocks and his professionalism. That is hard to find today. The job was completed as quoted, and I was thrilled with his work. Oh, Yes I would use him again.

My dad transported it from Nebraska to South Florida due to sentimental value. We have a Ridgeway Grandfather clock for close to 20 years, and has given us years of joy. We needed it serviced but was not happy with previous clock repair technicians. We called Bill of Kew Gardens clock repairs, who came out promptly, removed the clocks working parts, brought it back to his shop, cleaned and adjusted the clock and reinstalled it. The sweet sounds of the chimes once again fills our house. I located Kew Gardens simply by doing a Google search for clock repair. Bill came to me a few days later, and within a few minutes he had the Howard Miller Grandfather Clock chiming on time. He also provided so much information on the clock, a diagram of the inside of the clock to keep, and don’t get me started on his very organized tool/parts box with everything labeled! He then looked at my Howard Miller table clock and took it with him for quite a bit of work to be done. He did get it to chime a couple of times which almost brought tears to my eyes. I found Bill Bachman of Kew Gardens Jewelers after searching authorized Howard Miller clock repairs. I couldnt be happier with his craftsmanship & business style. My clock was given to me as a gift by my cousins last year after my dear Uncle & G-dfather passed away at 93 years old. My Uncle was the brother of my Dad who passed away at 54 when I was just 24 years old. When the clock first made it into my house and I heard it chime I was reminded of both my Uncle and my Dad. I was disheartened when the chimes stopped working. Bill described the battery problem by phone diagnosed corrosion, etc. and offered to assist. Bill Bachmann came to our house to set-up a grandfather clock that we received as a present. Bill is one of the nicest people we ever met and his professionalism and knowledge are truly amazing. He started by opening the big carton box that the clock was shipped in, he removed it from the box and gave advise for the best place to set it at. Then he methodically started removing all the packing materials that kept delicate parts from moving during shipping and at every step of the way he provided an explanation about the mechanism, the sound generation, the night-day settings etc. which was a truly interesting learning experience. He patiently answered all our questions and was happy to make any final adjustments that we asked for pertaining to balancing the clock, set the right time (this is a mechanical clock so it is not obvious how to set AM and PM), adjust the weights at slightly different height to give some interest, set up the moon phases and much more, truly an amazing experience for us. The clock looks beautiful in our living room and we are grateful to Bill for his help and we highly recommend him for any clock related work whether be set up, repair etc. We will definitely have Bill back when the clock is due for its periodic maintenance.

I have a very old Japanese regulator that periodically needs a tune up. I was in a fever to find someone reliable and competent after moving here from NY 6 years ago.I have been delighted to find Bill at Kew Gardens Jewelers. He has service my clock at least 4 or 5 times. Unfortunately, the most recent service indicated that the poor old thing was just worn out, and even Bill couldnt fix it. He helped me by replacing the movement with a battery-operated one. While I miss that dear old tick tock, the clock works perfectly, and I am satisfied that nobody else could have done a better job.My only regret is I probably wont need to see Bill again.marilyn shapiro
