READ THE FINE PRINT - After contacting Shred-it to cancel my service they produced an agreement that was signed 6 years ago by someone who has not been with our company for over 2 years. Shred-it says our original contract was for 5 years and AUTOMATICALLY renewed for an ADDITIONAL 5-YEAR term even though our company was not notified of the impending renewal.The fine print of the agreement states that Shred-it can increase the service fee at any time without providing advanced notice. The agreement also states that Shred-it may add additional surcharges, of ANY AMOUNT for any duration ... that result in additional profit for Shred-it, again with no advanced notice.This service has been on auto-pay via a credit card. After reviewing the last 12 months of charges, I discovered that my invoice has increased 8 times in the last 12 months. These increases have come in the form of ever-increasing fuel and recycling surcharges and 1 service fee increase.After trying multiple times to resolve the issue via phone and e-mail shred-it offered me no concessions and said that I must pay an early termination fee of 50% for an additional 4+ years of service. This is how they treat a customer of over 6 years.Read the fine print and I encourage you NOT to do business with this company.
This is very simple they shred stuff. Im not giving them 5 stars because I had a interesting experience waiting for the lady in the lobby. No one seemed to know where she was.
I cant say enough positives about this service! They came to my house and shredded, on-site, 30+ years of paperwork that was taking up too much space and wasnt needed. The price was great, the people were nice, and the shredder truck has an onboard video camera so you can literally watch all that stuff go through the shredder! Nineteen bankers boxes, gone!
You call and ask for an earlier pick up, they tell you theyll be there. They dont show up. Then they dont show up on the day they moved you to. They move you to another day without letting you know. So now were sitting here with a packed bin and boxes full of more shred wondering if theyll show up on the third day they chose. Customer service is horribly snide and rude. Some of the service guys that come to the office have been so awful and rude as well. I have called so many other places trying to switch services but every time I find another smaller company they buy that company and Im back in the same situation with the same bad service. They know they have a corner on the market and they treat you as such. This is the Wal Mart of the shredding world. I kid you not.
Great service fast and friendly. Maybe a few directions could be on the website, to let you know to go directly to the front door instead of the back.
Called 5x they just dont need new business.Called ANOTHER Carrollton/Farmers Branch shred Co. They showed up & done 500# shredded.
Sales consultant called to help me switch from 4 week to 8 week pick ups and tricked me into a five year contract. called to get help and the customer service department was completely rude and did not care about what they did. today the pick up guy snuck in through the back door of my office, emptied the bin and came through the front door and tried to get my employee to give him a quick signature and wouldnt listen when my employee said no we arent suppose to have pick ups anymore. SHRED IT IS COMPLETELY DECEITFUL. THEY ARE SCAMMING MANY PEOPLE. DO NOT USE THEM
Wow. I have never been so dissapointed in a company as I was today. I called in to schedule a simple service (as I do about once every couple of months) because their customer portal is so useless you cant even schedule services on it. After being transferred around to five different people over the course of around 30 minutes and asking to speak to a supervisor I was hung up on. I called back after being hung up on and the woman who I spoke to was able to help me with minimal effort and the service was scheduled within a few minutes. I will never use this company again. We will be switching to another company for our shred needs.
My service was great when I had the $40 bin. I got a larger bin for 3 months to get rid of some paper. They picked up 3 empty bins due to me being on a schedule I didnt know about. They charged me $92 three times for empty bins. I did have one bin they actually picked up that was not empty. And when they finally canceled after my third request they said they ate charging me for that pick up. Customer service people are rude and unhelpful. They will not work with you on the billing at all. I will not even do a one time pick up with them in the future. This is unreasonable and unresolved.
Avoid at all costs. This company withdrew $14,870 from our bank account when our bill should have been $148. We have now been waiting a week and they have yet to return the funds. We are now considering legal action against this company.
We love our representative. He is always helpful and so nice. Great company and would never use anyone else.
Horrible company! Horrible managament! Manager couldnt manage our team to save her life. She never helped me and never knew the answer to any question I ever asked her. She had no clue and would always go to Starbucks to get away from the job instead of being there to help us and managa us. The director is a joke as he got offended for me referring to the new guy as the white boy since I didnt know his name. Complete egotistical head case. He didnt help as me and a couple of others complained to him about our manager and he didnt do anything about it. We do usually charge customers twice. I would suggest going with Iron Mountain, they are exceptionally better! Hands down!
Horrible Service...Do not use them! I tried scheduling a purge with them and it was like they didnt know what they were doing. One person scheduled it and another person cancelled it. I tried talking to someone locally, but you get routed to California and then one person can only answer one question and if you have another question, they transfer you to someone else to assist and you have to start all over explaining what you need. Edward Yi tried to assist me when I requested cancellation, but when everyone failed to assist me I proceeded with cancellation and he was very rude after that. Dont use them...try DFW Shredding...they are local.
We used this company about 2 years ago. I took boxes to there site and watched while itwent through shredder. Very reasonable priced. Problem is, I have tried to contact them forover 3 days and cannot get anyone to return my call! Therefore, I will not use them again.Apparently, they do not need our companys business. :-(
DO NOT USE THEM! They charged me DOUBLE what was originally quoted for the same number of boxes. The driver did not show up on the day that they had originally scheduled. I couldnt get anyone on the phone to see what had happened. Then they screwed up the billing. It took 2 months to get a reply and they did not fix the billing at all. If I could give them a negative star, I would. Use them if you want to get charged twice as much as they quote.

I used them 2 years ago...actually price lots higher than quoted. Called last week and left message for a guaranteed quote ...no return call. Called again 2 days ago ..spoke to someone who said scheduling would call back in a few minutes. Still havent heard from them. I went to another company.
