Please be smart and read these other reviews. Keep looking elsewhere Unprofessional office staff. Unforgiving after you have adjusted your schedule! customer service is not important to the owners. The only good thing I have to say is the technician who came out to my residence was the complete opposite of what I had countered with the front office. I had to take the day off to accommodate their schedules. They over book their technicians. Not courteous to Front Line Workers during COVID who need their appointments the first time they are made.
Cal-Tex facilitated a repair through a Lowes warranty for me and I am very pleased thus far. Isaac from their office came out, looked at the issue and troubleshot it down to a part that is rare to have issue and would need to be ordered. He explained the troubleshooting steps he took and how he deduced the problem part. He was clean, friendly, well spoken, and did a great job. I look forward to their return and final resolution of the issue. Will update then.UPDATE: Isaac came back out once the part arrived. Arrived on time and prepared, was very professional, walked me through the steps he was taking, replaced the part, and did a once over to verify everything was working. I gave it a few days after the replacement to make sure everything worked right and everything is perfect.Cannot recommend this team enough. Rest assured, if you are assigned CAL-TEX as the repair company for a warranty repair you are in good hands. I hope I never have to utilize my Lowes warranty again, but if I do Ill request Cal-tex.
Fridge still not working after he checked it out.. said #s from.whatever scan he did looked good but freezer wont drop below 20 and fridge at 50.. thats not normal!
I recently made a warranty claim through Lowes for the ice maker within my refrigerator. From the beginning, Alejandra was very kind and helpful when it came to scheduling my appointment. Fernando was the technician that came out to my house. His communication and customer service skills are above and beyond. Ive had other technicians come out to work on the ice maker through my Lowes warranty plan, and no one was as thorough as Fernando when it came to explaining the process and going through the necessary steps to making sure the issue is resolved. An overall awesome experience.
They gave me an appointment between 12 and 5 called me at 11:20 I did not answer so they canceled my appointment twice this way and when I called Shantel was not very helpful 🤯
Greetings to all who find this,Do yourself a favor, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!I have a leaking refrigerator, purchased from Home Depot. So the malfunctioning ice maker dripped down the front of the refrigerator causing surface damage to the left french door and water/ice chute. Cal-Tex came out, assessed the problem and fixed it. A week later it started pouring water again, Not Fixed. The young man that came out was the same to respond to the second service call. It was then that he agreed the door was damaged and needed to be replaced. Following so far?- defective ice maker unit- caused damage to my refrigerator doorSo its come to this, the door was denied. According to Home Depot, it wasnt added as additional damage. Cal-Tex just asked for one, called it replacement due to some kind of damage, that isnt covered anyway. Unbelievable! So Ive wasted hours of my time explaining the situation to Home Depot. Finally it has been accepted as covered.Summation- Cal-Tex has some MAJOR ISSUES!!!1. You HAVE to do a better job ordering parts for your customers.2. Who ever the lady is in your office that answers the phone.... Oh My God! You seriously need to find someone else to deal with your customers. And I am not the only one... Read your reviews... She is pretty bad on many fronts.3. I really liked your tech (the young man that came out to my house). And I found him very knowledgeable. The problem is at your front end and delivery of the product. Im going to assume that she probably orders your parts too. It would make sense, weakest link and all.Anyway, moving on...
Excellent service.I was very please with my experience. A professional person call me the day prior to confirm the appoint and explained that someone will be calling me prior to arriving. The technician called prior to the visit to make sure I was going to be there. He was very professional and explained everything to me.Overall I was very pleased with the experience of this company.
If you need an appliance repaired, DO NOT take it to this location. Do yourself a favor and keep looking for a business with better reviews because the reviews here are valid. Customer service is poor, business ethics is poor, and they are definitely NOT a reputable business that Scotsman should be recommending on their website. The service we requested this business to perform was not the service we received. In fact, we were overcharged for materials and labor is questionable. We requested the unit to be cleaned, replacement of the unit feet, and asked them to throw in a new scooper that fits in the holder. They descaled the unit, hooked it up to their bathroom sink water supply that is hard water next to the toilet. The unit looked filthier than when we dropped it off, any hard water buildup on the inside of the unit looked the same if not worse than when we dropped it off for cleaning. Parts and cleaning solution that cost a few bucks on amazon were ridiculously marked up. It took them 2 1/2 weeks to replace two parts that could have been done at another Scotsman location in San Marcos within an hour. It would have been worth the drive. Furthermore, if you pay nearly $500, wouldnt you want your unit to look better than when you dropped it off? That did not happen, and unfortunately, the parts we really wanted replace were not provided. They had their personal ice scooper in the unit and it was clear they were using it. What was even more disturbing, was that they refused to give us the unit until we paid for their services even though the office staff couldnt provide us with an invoice. The technician told the office staff not to release the machine to us until we provided payment. We were not going to pay for services blindly. In short, we paid what they demanded and urge others NEVER to use this business unless you want to get ripped off. We also contacted Scotsman so they are aware of their business practices. This business DOES NOT deserve one star.
Bad repair and bad service. They have been out 4 x to try to fix our 2 year old dryer and want to charge us each time and say it’s something different. We made the original repair appointment through Lowe’s where we purchased the dryer. One of those repairs we waited for 5 hours in the window provided. We called twice to see when repair person would arrive. The second call we were told he didn’t have time to stop by. No call or anything. People change their work schedules to wait for the repair only to be blown off! Lowe’s has also received feedback.
The first tech that came out took one look at the fridge at some liquid in the collection tray and said it was a leak and he could not fix it. Had to wait 3 days for the more experienced tech to come out He said it was not a leak and found the real issue. Unfortunately he had to order parts. That took a week and then he did not show up at his promised time for his appointment. This company does not care about their customers. Would not recommend and wish I had another choice but this is who my fridge manufacture forced me to use.
Bad service and made my dad move the washer cause he said he couldnt move it cause he can get hurt..and the end of the service washer didnt even work properly..
They cancelled my appointment 19 minutes after calling to confirm appointment. I was home, just missed the first call. The appointment windows are huge (between 12 - 5 PM.) Hadnt had someone cancel the appointment without trying the residence before.
Theyve been out to our house 4 times since November and still cannot figure out why our washer is leaking. Every girl in the office I have dealt with is very rude and will not even let us know where we are in line for the appt, they will only give 4 hour windows.
My husband and I had an outdoor kitchen built. Within a year, the refrigerator door sensor was consistently beeping although the door was shut properly. We called the kitchen design company and they contacted the fridge manufacture. Caltex was sent by the manufacturer (Marvel) to repair an outdoor refrigerator. After numerous attempts to schedule a service call, the appointment was made and a technician arrived to make the repair. The refrigerator was malfunctioning again by the end of the day. When I contacted them, they suggested the rubber seal on the door was dirty and refused to come back. I went back through the installer and Marvel again had Caltex contact us to make the repair. Again, their scheduler did a very poor job. When we finally agreed to a date and time, they didnt arrive. I called to complain and the manager refused to let me speak with the owner, refused to give me her name, and then hung up on me and would not answer when I called back. This is certainly not a reflection on Marvel or the outdoor kitchen designer we used. It is a reflection of incompetence and poor customer service on the part of Caltex. I wonder if the owner(s) are aware of what their employees are doing to the business reputation.
