As a preface: I dont leave reviews. I have been stewing on making this for a few days and almost decided against it, but I want others to know my experience.I visited this shop for a hot towel shave to prepare for a wedding. I called ahead and described what I needed and was told to book online. For $45 I chose the head shave thinking it was a bit much, but the place looked like quality and had many good reviews. Upon arriving, it seemed that they were confused when I showed up. They asked what the name was, what time my appointment was, and then after that who I was with. They asked me to take a seat in the back until Chilly showed up. He was very nice, but after asking me to sit down he was gone for approx. 15 minutes before coming back and asking what I was there for as if it wasnt online. I told him I needed a hot towel shave and a beard trim to which he said I dont know if Ill have enough time for that. Astounded by this, I just asked him to just do what he could in that time. He frequently left multiple times during my session to where one of his coworkers literally said, Hey, man, youre leaving your client a lot, here. and then I found out they didnt have any hot towels prepared.During the service, I was cut twice with the straight razor, and when his next appointment came in, he rushed the rest. When he asked how it felt when he was done, I said it was still very coarse in the back, to which he said, well, yeah, if you go against the grain... A hot towel shave should be completely smooth, regardless of direction.What Chilly DID do well was try to accommodate me to another barber to finish the beard trim. The gentleman I was wish did a STELLAR job at trimming my beard, but when we were finished, I said it looked great - thanked him, THEN shook his hand, THEN said goodbye before heading out, thanking Chilly, shaking HIS hand, and then saying goodbye. I got into my car and plugged in my GPS before they came out, ushered me back inside to pay an EXTRA $20. When I walked back in, confused, all the barbers were laughing at me.I know its a long story - but overall it was unprofessional, a poor job, rushed, and just all-in-all a very miserable experience.

Fantastic place for a precision hair cut (or smooth head shave in my case) and even a professional yet personal beard trim. Everything about this place is superb. I do however wish they had their hot towel machine up and running - maybe that will be ready by the time I get my next cut. Keep up the great work, gentlemen. Bravo Zulu.

My son has always had his hair cut by mom, whos as hairdresser. Now that hes a teenager he enjoys the barbershop experience and this place is top notch! Cam & Tyler have made him look fresh, but really every single cut thats walked out the door looks great!

My son needed a hair cut so we called Luckys and I spoke with Josh Carley. Their schedule was tight (already a good sign) but I was told that he could squeeze us in. When we got there it was clear that they were in high demand as there were people outside waiting. But as promised we were taken in (I waited in my car outside) a half hour later my son came out with exactly what he wanted and was looking like a million bucks! I asked my son, do you like this place better than your usual place? And before I was even finished the question he said YES, DEFINITELY!. So I know where we will be going in 3 months! Ask for Josh he is worth every penny and I would have paid more!!!

Chris chilly gave me an awesome looking fade, a real fade luckys takes the cake. My day was not good, but the energy and positive attitudes made my day!! Thank you chilly..the fade is most definitely giving me a smile when I looked in the mirror. You guys are AWESOME 😎

Best place for a haircut around! No matter who you choose youll always come out with a great cut. Everyone in there is super warm and inviting and can do pretty much any cut under the sun. Couldnt recommend enough.

Ive been a patron of Luckys for almost 2 years now. Tyler, Tony and the rest of the guys are a pleasure to be around, do a wonder job and are worth every penny and then some. Super clean shop (even before COVID), excellent owner and awesome haircuts.

This was my first time in this barbershop and I loved my experience. First, they take Covid-19 very seriously: temperature check, complimentary mask, hands disinfection. Second, my barber Josh Carley, really took the time to give me the best haircut possible. You dont feel rushed, and you get the clean haircut you deserve. Excellent service and professionalism. I strongly recommend this place!

Very slick COVID-safe experience. All booking is online. Barber was friendly and took the time to make my hair look great. My wife thought it was a little pricey for a mens haircut but I think I got my moneys worth. Will visit again!

I went to Lucky’s for the first time today! I was able to easily make an appointment for the same day! Shawn did an amazing job on my undercut, very detailed and clean! All the other barbers were also very welcoming and kind! I will be definitely going back!

Ive been going to Luckys for a few years now and was a little hesitant to return after the post-covid opening due to the nature of the business (close contact etc.), that hesitation was completely unfounded. Luckys is going far above and beyond state/federal mandates to ensure the safety of customers/staff. I wasnt even allowed to touch the door handle to leave. I honestly dont think theres anything more they could be doing to ensure safety. Waiting outside, masks/temperature checks at the door, sanitation immediately. Exemplary and commendable!

Good Covid-19 precautions are in place, online booking was convenient, and the haircut was top-notch! Tyler was personable without being an over-talker and cut my hair exactly as desired.

What an amazing experience. First time there, long wait but a really cool, friendly and personable staff. Got talking with my barber and had a great conversation. He was so nice and actually covered my cost on his own dime! Good people still do exist!

Despite the sensible precautions they are taking to keep everyone safe being a little weird to get used to, Dan McCready did a great job of reassuring me. He was pleasant and interesting to talk to and did a great job with my hair!Great experience, highly recommended.

Met Josh today, really nice guy. I love my haircut he did an awesome job! I was nervous at first because I had never been and I thought it was a Mans Barber Shop but I was wrong. Atmosphere was great, relaxing, friendly and making sure to keep everyone safe by having safety procedures in place, mask, temperatures and gloves. I had alot of hair to cut and YAY..its gone. This shop is my favorite barber Ive ever been to. They have chairs from the 1920s, they have a large staff that keeps the line moving, but expect your barber to take time to get your hair done just right. They spend a lot of time on you and are clearly dedicated to quality. You are always greeted upon entering and thanked when leaving. They genuinely appreciate your business. The ambience is classic old school and the music is an interesting blend of styles that goes well with its interesting blend of barbers. Enjoy the pool table in the back while you wait.

Been hitting this spot every month for the past 2 years and they never disappoint no matter who I get to cut my hair. They take the time to do the job right. Yes you will most likely wait a good amount of time to get the haircut but the quality of the job done is worth it!

Wait can be long, but these guys cut my hair fast, but spent the time. Did my beard too. I was happy. Price is VERY reasonable. Highly recommend this shop. Just it is walk-in so be ready to wait a while. I think I waited an hour. No complaints though, I was expecting it. They are open 7 days a week though which I love. Very convenient.

Husband gets his haircut here. Love that we can book appointments for the Portsmouth location online. His cut is $30 dollars, they typically take an hour, and will massage your head. Cant go wrong

Theyre a little more expensive than your run of the mill Super Cuts or Great Clips.But theres nothing quite like hearing your Barber singing along to the radio while meticulously sculpting your hair and beard to perfection.

Awesome haircut

What this place needs are cubicles. Seems good because of long waits but really the people working spend the majority of their time talking amongst themselves rather than actually cutting hair. Every time Ive gone my hair is cut wrong and ends up cut into a style I did not ask for . The staff seems distracted and not focused on the customer.If you feel like spending money to sit around for an hour listening to a bunch of bros laughing at each other go here. If you want a good barbershop look elsewhere.

This is one of the best places in Concord to get a haircut. On some days there may be a wait, but their waiting room has an impressive array of books, and a pool table. If the wait is long, the owner will pop back to see if anyone needs something to drink. The haircuts themselves are fantastic, professionally done, and reasonably priced. If youre feeling stressed out, you might consider getting a straight razor shave, as it can be very relaxing. All told, the service, skill, personally, and atmosphere make this place the best barber shop in Concord.

This is the coolest place on the face of the Earth. Everything is cool barbers, music, fixtures and decor. They are meticulous in their work and thats why you wait. Well worth wait. If you want a big box stores hair cut go to a chain place. If you want quality and genuine old school barbershop experience look no further.

The best place in Concord. Just be prepared to wait awhile cause they are usually pretty busy. But it is well worth the wait, they are all very friendly and inviting.

The music was really loud and annoying. It was like a Blink 182 fan club meeting with the Barbers singing along. I couldnt believe they were into that stuff. I thought the place was a little messy too. I got a decent haircut, but I dont really want to go back there. The atmosphere was too douchebag.

Josh and the rest of his team are incredible. If you want a real hair cut, with old an school feel, Lucky’s, is where it’s at. I’ve been getting my cuts from Josh for over 20 years. It’s worth every minute you spend there.Thanks Josh!

I found this place online for my husband who wanted a place where he could get his hair and beard done at the same time. He absolutely loved it! The service was great and bonus our 8 year old sat (almost) completely still for his haircut which never happens!!!!! They will be back.

Great haircuts, great barbers, just be prepared to spend an hour or three in the barbershop. They dont take appointments, so you have to be careful when you fit a haircut into your schedule because it could take a very long time to actually get it.

Used to be a native to the area and would always go here. Now I love about an hour away and I still refuse to get a cut anywhere else. These guys are perfectionists in their craft and always provide me with a pleasant conversation. Bonus points for great beard trims as well

Great haircuts but almost 2+ hours wait every time. Got there at 7am opening and there was already 6 people ahead of me. Seems that with a business that successfull you would get a larger spot with more barbers, or start making appointments. Most people don’t have 3 hours to waste on a haircut.

Alright, when I went to get my cut it wasnt a long wait. However, he cut too short around my ears and a month later Im looking like a futuristic delinquent from RoboCop. Not a quality cut.

Warm and friendly, with a pool table and a big library of books to keep you occupied while waiting, Luckys is the quintessential retro barbershop. Chris gave me a great haircut and understood what I wanted. The only issue is the long wait, though understandable on weekends.

Easily my favorite barber shop. Give yourself some time though, other people know it too, so this place is usually packed. Thankfully, they have a great sign in board and seating in the back with a library and billiards table while you wait.

Straight up probably the best haircut you can get in New England for any price. Their prices arent even just reasonable, the customer is basically committing the crime of theft of service. Ive had haircuts that cost $100 and Luckys does a better job for a fifth of the price.It would be foolish to go anywhere else if you live within an hour of these guys. Dont mind the impatient reviews, the wait is because Luckys takes the time to do every step right.

Always a good cut but it can be hard to find a slow time the wait time can be 40 minutes or more. I sometimes have to go elsewhere. But they are still my favorite.

Best Barber Ive ever been to. The quintessential 50s barber shop with real attention to detail. A place where the atmosphere is as good as the haircut. Worth the wait. Dont rush them, good work takes time which is what every other barber shop Ive been to is lacking!

This is great Barbershop. I drive from Plymouth to Concord to get my haircut. Unfortunately I drove down to get my haircut today because the website says the shop is open until 2pm. I wish the change in schedule would have been reflected on the website to avoid the wasted trip.

The best haircuts I have ever had have come from Lucky’s. Very reasonably priced, if not low for the quality. I always see Chily or Tony. Wait can be really long sometimes, but it’s worth it. Hey ccasionaly there is no wait.

Luckys barbershop is a great barbershop setup was really nice had s nice old school vibe, the barbers greet you as they call you to their booths. Chris was awesome. As a first time visitor here to New Hampshire I was impressed with Chris. I usually dont let anybody cut my hair but if I didnt live 5 hours away he would be the one I would go to.

The barbers are technically superior as well as friendly. The atmosphere is how barber shops should be (perhaps a little more padding on the waiting seats for the middle age crowd)A superior service and exceptional value.

Waited about two hours which wouldn’t have been an issue normally. But the last 30 minutes of the wait was as each barber finished they stood around and chit chatted instead of getting the next person waiting. And then after all the chairs were empty it was a good 10-15 minutes before they called the next person up.As far as the cut, they do a good job but I’m not sure if the guy I got was having a bad day or something. but he kept stopping to check his phone and when I walked outside to meet my wife and kid my wife pointed out that I had 3 or 4 cuts on the back of my neck.This was my second time coming here. The first time was a great experience. But this second visit will probably be my last. There’s a lot of barber shops around so I’m sure I will find a better experience in no time.

They do pretty well with haircuts but its a different story when it comes to beards... Walked in with a 6+ month full beard and asked for a light trim, walked out with a cross between a chin strap and looking like one of the Spartans in the movie 300. Had to shave the rest off when I got home. Nice place but expect a 1 - 2 hour wait plus the 1+ hour haircut.One thing that bothered me was the time it took the barbers to seat the next person between haircuts. After finishing each client the barbers spend 5 - 10 minutes texting and standing around while tons of people are waiting.

I got my first cut at luckys nine years ago. No one else has cut my hair since then. The professionalism, attention to detail and customer service are second to none. Sure sometimes you may have to wait but like all things good its worth it.
