I will start out with DO NOT GO HERE. Not only were they pushing to charge for things I am not sure I needed and before I was told it is (or may not) covered by insurance they just did it and said I owe them $300. I have two insurance carriers so that should never be an issue.I paid them but they NEVER even tried to get money from the insurance company! Now the insurance company is involved since they never even reported the treatment!I even emailed the main office with no response!They want $$$$ and therefore I moved on to a reputable dentist and wanted to warn everyone to think really hard.

Today was my first visit to this office and it was fantastic! The receptionist was SO sweet and professional. Elizabeth handled my cleaning and she was absolutely wonderful. She took her time explaining everything being done and everything that I needed to do. I was nervous about going in for my appointment since I haven’t been to the dentist in awhile due to life and covid, but Elizabeth especially made me feel very comfortable and was so gentle. You could see both women truly care about their profession. I met with the dentist briefly who was awesome. He didn’t need to do any work as I was just there for the cleaning but was super nice and professional as well. I am looking forward to my next cleaning since today’s experience was so positive.

May be doctors and personal are good, but I haven’t get a chance to get my procedure done since April!!! Been here 5 times already and always something wrong with appointments. Some confusion or doctor is not there or something elseI blame the representatives who answer the phone! They don’t understand anything in English and make wrong appointments all the time!!! Just wasted 4 days already for coming there for nothing😡

I highly recommend American Dental in Commack. The space is clean and inviting. I saw some negative reviews commenting on the reception and customer service, but I when I called I got to speak to a live person and had an easy time booking an appointment. I overheard while I was in the office that they got rid of some troublesome staff a couple of months ago, so that may be some explanation for that.But the reason I decided to leave a review is because of my dental hygienist, Elizabeth N. She is hands down the best medical professional I have ever worked with. So kind, patient and really knows her stuff. She takes the time to explain everything that is being done and the reason for it. You can tell she rant cares. I recommend her every time I hear anyone mention the dentist! Shes worked with me twice, both cleaning and x-rays and Ive never had a better experience at the dentist.

Dr Dohm is AMazing! He was VERY patient, caring and knowledgeable he was able to walk me through this process to completion and now I LOVE my new teeth. this office gets my full recommendation!

Cant say enough about Elizabeth the hygienist that did my cleaning. Extremely knowable and caring! They have redone the office since my first visit and it looks fantastic. The staff is friendly. And Dr. Ryuda managed to make me laugh and I am terrified of the dentist. Highly recommend!!

Elizabeth the Hygienist is the best. She is so patient and extremely kind. I was nervous but she put my mind at ease. She has excellent bedside manner. This is my second time working with her and i dont want anyone else working on me except her. I highly recommend this place and Elizabeth.

By far the worst experience I’ve had at a dentist office. The place is a factory, they don’t care about patients at all. At my first root canal appt I sat in the chair for an hour and a half before they even began. Then when I got to the pharmacy I was told that my prescriptions weren’t sent over. After 4 phone calls and 6 hours of waiting while in pain FINALLY my prescription was sent. I had a perforated sinus from the procedure and despite my multiple phone calls to them NO ONE ever called me back. Now 3 weeks later I find out that they never sent the authorization for the second phase of the procedure to my insurance company. I have now called 3 times to find out what’s going on and again NO ONE has called me back. I was promised a phone call back yesterday by the office manager and surprise surprise now more than 24 hours later I still haven’t heard from her. I have no appt to get the crown put on and no idea what to do at this point. The level of negligence is astonishing.

The dental hygienist Elizabeth was amazing. It had been way too long since my last cleaning and she was very gentle and professional. The dentist is my least favorite place but she made my experience as easy as possible! I hope she is my hygienist every time I go!

Elizabeth N. @commack was the best hygienist. She worked on my kids with such care and compassion. She explained everything before she did it and was super patient. We have already made our next appointment and to be honest I am jealous they don’t take my insurance.

Very disappointing to try and Schedule an appointment to see the dentist and the Receptionist said that they’re not taking new patients because of the virus it’s really sad my mom needs her teeth fixed ASAP and these dentist need to understand the protocol about this virus and how to deal with it!!! if you can’t do business then you should be close if your scared 😟 people need help not to be put off all the way up until September for new patients just keep in mind that’s not how to do business!!! Especially when people need help

American Dental in Commack is fantastic! Clean, efficient, professional and welcoming staff! I and my children had cleanings with their hygienist Elizabeth Nunez and she was amazing! She even took the time to show my children how to floss properly (I’ve been doing it wrong my entire life!). The X-ray technician Katya was also wonderful! The dentist that performed our exams (and a quick removal of a lingering baby tooth) was also great! I would recommend this dental office to everyone....young, old, problems, or just a cleaning! Don’t hesitate to make your appointment!

This was my first experience at American Dental. The office was clean and followed all COVID guidelines. I was very happy with my cleaning. My hygienist Elizabeth welcomed me and was very friendly. She spent a nice amount of time establishing a rapport and making me feel comfortable. Thank you American Dental.

I must say I never leave reviews BUT must must leave a review about Aneesa and Elizabeth, they are the most professional and Competent people especially them two. Aneesa was very helpful and handled my concerns accordingly. Elizabeth also did an amazing job with my cleaning and was very sweet. Very thankful for their professionalism, front desk staff especially.

Five stars is for Elizabeth who did my cleaning. She did such a thorough job and I never had a dental cleaning anything like that before. She really took her time and also took time to give me brushing/flossing tips. My teeth feel and look cleaner.The office & scheduling however - not so great. Scheduling is a nightmare. Had to wait so long for an appointment and they don’t schedule things efficiently. I waited 1 hour for my cleaning and 1.5 hours for my exam (no exaggeration). Please improve scheduling!

This establishment is run absolutely horribly. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!! Do not waste your time. They make you wait hours in the waiting room. They double book their appointments and clearly overpack their schedule. The bathroom was disgusting and the place was not clean. I saw patients walking out without masks on and nothing was said to them. The receptionists are incompetent, rude and not helpful. Save your self the time and aggravation - go somewhere else!!! I have been with this practice for more than a year and the last few months they have gone to hell.. I have been trying since last week to get an emergency appointment. Now they have an answering service they take your message and guess what NO CALL BACK!!! Last time I was there they had a patient care coordinator by the name Vladimir and he was NO HELP..

Absolutely awful customer service. When you call, you don’t speak to someone directly who can give you an appointment right away.I called twice in one week for an Emergency appointment and was told the office would call me back to get me in ASAP and no one ever returned either of my calls.

I never met such as an unprofessional company.They work in a constant state of disorganization.They mess up with appointments and after you pay, they totally disappear.I paid in advance $700 for dental impressions and never receive the service for which I paid.Its been 3 months that Im waiting for a refund.They totally disappeared, they dont answer the phone and when they pick it up, you are kept on hold for hours.No one knows how to help you.The Commack and the Hicksville office keep shuffling responsibilities to each other. Its unbelievable.Stay away from this company.

Ive been to alot of Dentist in my life because Im very sensitive and not to mention terrified of the dentist, but at the American Dental in Commack I have found the best dentist, Dr.Riutta made me feel at ease. I felt absolutely no pain in his care. He extract 3 teeth in literally minutes, I was completely blown away with not only how he treated me but his staff was absolutely phenomenal. Never run on time and always a long wait. The answering service is not connected with the office so appointments are screwed up constantly. This is a I am desperate dental office. They accept Medicaid and that is the exact service you receive, bottom of the barrel. Nobody either seems to care about improving customer service or just don’t know where to start. I hate this place and dread anytime I have to do business with them.

I absolutely love American dental in Commack! The dentist my husband and I see, is joe. He is by far one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met! Very friendly, and accommodating! Not to mention a wonderful dentist! And his assistant Ricardo is also a sweetheart and very knowledgeable! Mostly all the staff there are friendly and accommodating .

This office is very new and it “appears” professional and spot on. However, they are sooooooo mis-managed ....it’s pathetic! You think you have an appointment, then it changes because the orthodontist is not there. Now, after waiting four weeks my daughters find out that they have to wait longer another month or so.The only TWO people that know what’s going on are: Aneesa Malik and Catherine Guzman. They are friendly, helpful and most of all .....know what’s going on. They text me if I have a question about anything! This became necessary because every time I call the office, it goes to service. Those people who answer the phones DO NOT relay any message. There is so much miscommunication ! Again, the only two people in that office who care about the patients and know what’s going on are: Catherine and Aneesa. Whoever owns this practice needs to really appreciate them and give them a major bonus for keeping the office intact! Easy appointment, reasonable service.

The wait was too long and the front desk staff could do a better job! Dr Nour and his assistant seemed quite thorough and meticulous with the X rays and check up. The hygienist Elizabeth took the time and care to explain important prevention and brushing techniques.

I am a new patient recently with this office I may begin by giving one star only for the fact that the dentist did do work on my tooth and it did go smoothly. As far as this office calling you back ..forget it they do not care very much for the patient well being.Waiting 2 months for insurance approval when the claim was never put into the insurance company by that time my tooth had already broken and could not get a root canal for the more I was in serious pain left five messages for the dentist to please call me back or send in ibuprofen no one ever called me back I even called their emergency line was never returned a phone call extremely poor service I don’t know what has happened to the dental industry it is horrible to leave people in pain this way they should be ashamed of themselves the way they run their office It’s took one week to finally get in touch with someone in that office I couldn’t even make an appointment I don’t understand why they don’t call their patients back it is ridiculous I never seen anything like it

I have a severely disabled daughter. The care that Elizabeth gave her was outstanding. My daughter’s teeth have never been cleaned so well. Elizabeth was persistent but gentle. I am pleased to have found this office and was given Elizabeth to work on my daughter’s teeth.

The new office on Commack Rd off of 25a is beautiful,,,spacious, bright, clean, and refreshing.The staff is and has always been friendly and helpful. I saw a great hygienist Elizabeth that was THE MOST knowledgeable hygienist Ive ever seen. This was my first time at the new location. Much nicer than the last office, clean and had a good sized parking lot, quiet as I was there during COVID for a tooth infection. They were very clean, had sanitizer for use, everyone wore masks, and socially distanced. I felt as safe as one could with your mouth hanging open in a public space for half an hour! Then saw the dentist, the owner, and he was quick and went through everything I should know until my next visit. Will definitely continue to go there for my teeth! The only issue I have was with the seemingly disorganized staff, but I attribute this to the annoyance of COVID. I waited for a very long time, though I also waited a long time at the last location, and their answering service was TERRIBLE, and I was speaking to another patient while waiting and waiting and they said the same happened to them. Hopefully this will be remedied when the pandemic calms down.

Amazing experience. I am so thankful after going to multiple dentists, I know I finally found this one to be home. The staff, doctor I had all were so helpful, patient with me. I came to them after a month with an infected jaw from my tooth. I was traumatized by the bad service i received from every other “professional “ i had been to and there were many as no one would help me. Hospitals doctors dentists literally everybody. Dr. Joe- was so kind and empathetic and compassionate. He must’ve sensed how upset I was and took his time explained everything to me and extracted my tooth painlessly. That place dreadful, I payed for a crown pocket, so I have the post in waiting for the crown to come in the dentist is doing work on the tooth next to it, cracks the remaining piece of tooth where the post was and tells me he cant put the crown in . Not too mention they loose the crown that I payed for and have assumed no responsibility for it. They talk about you in Spanish right in front of you, not realizing I speak Spanish. Terrible place . Just awful

Coming to this practice for 3 years. They take good care of you and now they offer free sleep screening for Apnea - which I learned that I have and are going through their treatment program.

I made an appointment at American Dental because I had a bad cavity.The dentist said I needed a root canal, but they wouldnt let me make an appointment for the procedure until after they got approval from my insurance and that could take 6-8 weeks. They told me the only way I could make an appointment is if I wanted to pay out of pocket. I wasnt in pain, so I decided to wait. Six weeks later, I called to ask if they had gotten approval for the root canal, and they said not yet, so I called back 2 weeks later, they said not yet again, I called back 2 weeks after that and they said to stop calling, theyd call me after they heard from the insurance company. Whenever Id call Id be placed on a long hold, and when I finally would get to speak to someone, they were always rude. I waited 6 months, and the office was still saying they hadnt gotten approval from my insurance company. Then I called my insurance company, and they said a claim had never been filed! It makes me think that they were waiting for me to decide to just pay out of pocket for the root canal. Maybe the staff is just lazy. I wonder if anyone else had the same problem. Im never going back there, and wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice everyone is at this office. I was there with my kids on a busy day and they took some time to connect with my kids. I appreciated their effort. We were treated with dignity and while this is a busy place you feel like an important individual. The kids actually wanted to go back. The reasoning for my 5 stars are because their AMAZING staff, I walked in there In so much pain a few weeks ago and those girls went above and beyond to make sure my issue was taken care of. I was a bit skeptical at first because the place it’s a bit old, but once I noticed how friendly the girls were and cleaned everything was all my worries went away. I will go back and recommend American Dental to my friends and family!!

My experience was lovely. The ladies at the front desk were a pleasure to work with and the Dr. really exceeded my expectations. Everyone in the office was in a great mood setting a good vibe throughout the office.

Its a very over crowded office. Paperwork sometimes doesnt get done and that can affect whether you get treatment or not. If you can afford to go to a better dentist I highly recommend that you do or you might end up like I did waiting in the waiting room for two hours only to come to find out they never got approval from your insurance and be turned away.

Ive been there twice already. And both times have been as pleasant as Ive had a dentist office. This most recent time I was actually amazed by just how fast the extraction took. Once I was numb, no exaggeration about 8 mins. With relatively no residual pain. Two 👍👍from me....

This place is by far the WORST dentist I have EVER attended. First, the wait was 2 hours. Then, I was only supposed to get my tooth drilled and filled, but the dentist just wanted to pull it straight out. I started arguing with her and told her that I was supposed to get it filled, and she gave me a nasty attitude. I could not stand that lady and I just left and went to a different dentist. And to top it off, the walls, floor, and roof were made very poorly. I actually was convinced that it was made or of cardboard. If you are deciding to come here, I would definitely NOT recommend it.Worst dentist experience I have ever been through. If I could give this place no stars, I would definitely give it 0.

I visited this dental place because they accept my insurance and many places don’t. I was pleasently surprised with the office staff who were friendly but the problem I had was the wait time. I had an appointment at 10 am and waited almost 45 minutes to be seen, so if you don’t like waiting this is not your place. I went in for a cleaning and cavity filling. I absolutely love the dentist Dr.Pierre, she was very professional and understanding because I was very upset by the time I was seen by her. I appreciated her understanding and that’s why I will continue to visit her in their new office. I like that she listened, especially because I have anxiety over going to the dentist to begin with. I had my cleaning done by hygienist Elizabeth Nunez, she was very friendly and explained how flossing can help with better gums. I will definitely be requesting her again because she was gentle and cleaning was quick and easy. It didn’t feel like my mouth just got hit by a bus afterwards. I hope with their new location appointments won’t be so back to back and the wait times become shorter, this is the main reason why I gave them 3 stars.

I got a cleaning done by a woman who’s name is Elizabeth Nunez. She went absolutely above and beyond on my teeth. Explaining everything I need to do to keep my teeth and gums healthy while cleaning my teeth. Never before have I gotten my teeth cleaned with such professionalism, concern, and care. I wish there were more people in Healthcare that took the extra time to show they care about the patient and not just a statistic to bill the insistence. I will be getting my cleanings from now on from her and nobody else and I advise anyone who needs a cleaning to ask for her. Thanks Elizabeth.
