We had 11 windows installed by Ransom, Maggie, Rob and the rest of the crew. We had some windows in brick, removal of a bay window and a few other challenging windows. They were totally awesome, professional, friendly, and hard working. Ransom not only managed the entire install but did all the fine trim work, he is truly a master carpenter! We had an excellent experience and know it was because of the install crews dedication to customer satisfaction. If you are looking for new windows, check out UWD and I hope you get the same crew for your job.
This week we had 18 new windows put in with Universal. The crew was lead by Ransom and he did an excellent job! Our windows had to be completely ripped out, trim and all and Ransoms crew made them look gorgeous! I am excited to see how our utility bill changes to reflect all the new insulation these windows will provide.
They are the worst company every. See attached photos. They have been out twice to fix my windows and you can see how bad these are. The first crew cracked my siding got spray foam all over the foundation of my house. They threw all their trash on the ground to include vape cartridges. I have made six calls to get this fix and they still are not able to fix them. They cracked my siding and they fixed it by putting caulking in the whole. Absolutely worst company every. Please learn from my experience and go anywhere else.
Dana was very knowledgeable about the product. She is a great person to work with...we were pleased with the way she was able to follow through to get everything done to our satisfaction..I will be happy to recommend the product and Dana to friends.
They did a great installation job. However, I had to call because they didnt show up within their stated time. Also they did not clean the windows before they left. I think they are supposed to do this. They did insert the screw covers, which I appreciated. This is the second time they have installed windows for us and the first crew did not install these covers. All and all I would definitely use them again if I needed windows. They did finish the job quickly!
Great craftsmanship. Our installer (Nick) was great. He truly cared about the work he was performing. Love my new windows. Thinking about upgrading a few more! Thank you
The install crew was awesome! Came in and never stopped. Rock n rolled all day ! 19 windows out and new installed and all trim and finishing touches done. No mess left. They where the best installers we have dealt with for any of our home projects.
Services were done very professional! The windows (6), themselves I thought was a little over priced, BOGO FREE @ $5500+. Communication between the salesman and installer could have been handled better because of our CUSTOM built house! It took the installer longer than expected to finish the job which was not a problem!
The representative was very informative and friendly. Taught us a lot about windows. The windows are high quality but was out of our budget limit. She was very professional and knew her product and well. We liked her very much and don’t normally sit around for a long presentation. Only did because she was so nice.
Jennifer came out to give us an estimate and tell us about the company and product. She was on time, courteous, friendly and very professional. I appreciate her taking the time to answer our questions and making us feel comfortable about this decision!!! Our installation is now complete and I am so excited! The crew was efficient, polite and kept in contact with me about their arrival time.
Gervis and the crew we had today was excellent. We were notified this morning the time they would arrive, did a great job, clean- up inside and out was wonderful. This crew was very detail oriented. Great experience. Love my windows!
Dana was very helpful and helped me get to a budget that I was comfortable with. She was very understanding in my needs.
The Universal windows Direct Team showed up exactly within the timeframe that was provided. They immediately started working and completed the project that was initially slated for a day and a half the first day. They cleaned up as they went and revisited 3very area prior to leaving to ensure it was clear of trash. I would highly recommend Universal Windows Direct and would encourage anyone that does choose them as their window provider to request Josh and his crew. They were top quality.
Since we signed the contract to have our windows installed, we have have to reschedule on numerous occasions. First was the rescheduling of the install. Told us they were going to send us the A team to install our windows after missing the first appointment. The team showed up late because they had to come from Cleveland to do a job near Columbus. Once the crew go here, they were great. As they were installing a second floor picture window that required scaffolding, they noticed the glass was scratched. So they put in a repair order. One of our crank out windows also did not have white hardware with it, so they put black hardware on the window until they could get the white. They rescheduled the repair once, after about 10-12 weeks to get the window, then they showed up, late again, with a sliding glass door that obviously did not belong at our house and no hardware for the window, and the installer was bad mouthing the company and slamming things around because he was frustrated with his own organization. Then today, they were scheduled to be at my house between 8-10am. I got called at 9:30 only to be told that they realized they dont have the right scaffolding to do the job, so they have to reschedule, again. We have had to move our schedule around and miss work on at least two occasions only to be rescheduled again. Now we get to try again in a couple weeks. Not gonna hold my breathe! However, we have been making payments for our windows since May, and they expect those payments to be on time. We are tired of being inconvenienced, hearing excuses, dealing with inept and an unorganized company who all they can is I apologize, I can get you rescheduled. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau about this. STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS COMPANY. WINDOWS ARE GOOD, EVERYTHING ELSE IS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Courteous, professional, considerate, knowledgeable, and friendly from the moment I first spoke with someone to schedule an estimate, right through to the installation completion. The sales rep worked with my schedule and was flexible; the tech who measured was friendly and efficient; the installation crew worked hard to minimize disruptions, they were very kind and friendly but worked with laser focus and completed the job exactly on schedule. My family and I could not be more pleased with both the product and the customer service.
From the sales rep to the installer they were professional and personable. They made sure I was getting the best deal and went ice every option. The installer was very nice, fast and cleaned up everything!!! Went over the windows one by one once installed.
Dana was very professional and knew her products inside and out. There was no high pressure in this sale. Felt comfortable throughout this experience
Can I give them a zero?!?!!! Ordered windows in April. Still not installed. No communication on their part. Do NOT recommend.
Dana Hallahan was great to work with! She explained everything very clearly and made purchasing windows very easy! I would definitely recommend working with her!
We had 6 windows replaced and the overall experience was awesome. From Josh, the rep that came and did our free estimate and the continued communications of what next to expect, we were kept in the know. The day of the install, Nick knew his business. The windows are very well secured, wrapped and insulated. We are very pleased and excited with our purchase and experience.
Josh showed up on time. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the windows.Josh took his time to go over all the aspects of the windows. He was able to answer all of our questions. We never felt rushed or pushed into buying the new windows.
I received my windows Friday and I love them! I applaud the professionalism and the quality of work by the entire team. The pandemic has been hard on everyone but they went above and beyond to make my mother and I feel safe during this entire process. Thank you very much!
So Evan was super helpful and amazing. He had answers to all my weird questions. If you can request a guy, request him. And I learn a lot of window technology which i never thought about. So that’s a bonus. We got a whole house of windows for cheaper than I thought. 5/5
We met with Josh, and he did a great job working with us! We felt that he explained things thoroughly and did his best to keep the price very reasonable. We are really excited to get these installed!***Update: we have had our windows for just over 2 months, and we LOVE them! These are pics of before, during, and after - the difference is amazing, we so enjoy being abe to see outside without foggy, uncleanable windows. Cleaning is very easy, and this month our electric bill has decreased, likely because we are not cooling the outdoors with leaky windows! Installation was a one day process, the guys were very attentive to their work and answered any questions we had. We would buy again from Universal Windows Direct, they got the job done!
All I can suggest is start this process in March to be ready for Summer. Im new to window installation and manufacturing time.Installation team stopped by. Had all 6 painted-shut windows out, new ones put in, clean up and on their way in a smidge over 2 hours. Good crew. 5 stars on those guys.
While they did arrive late they kept me updated on time of arrival, they stayed late to get everything done. They were nice and went above there requirement for my family. They did great work and I would highly recommend using them for any replacements of windows.
Dana is very knowledgeable. Her presentation was excellent. She surely knows her job and answered all our questions patiently.
Dana gave me an excellent presentation and new the window making process and materials. She helped me decide the best options for my project.
Dylan came out to give us an estimate on our windows. He was overly nice and considerate. He was great at letting us know the value of things and when we didn’t need to waste any money on something. Easy and great process. We are really excited and are getting a great deal. We will be working with them again.
Really great service and friendly workers highly recommend it
My husband and I really enjoyed the presentation and the knowledge that we was given and also the professional that Dana was we reallly enjoyed her so much thank you
Overall installation was done very well. The crew that showed up, knocked out the job in one day. All we’re courteous and professional and did a really good job of educating me on the product. They did point out a few things that were both discussed and and not discussed in the sales meeting. I’d give the install a 5 and the sales meeting a 3. We discussed replacing the trim or capping to seal it so no additional moisture could get in or around the windows and, once the install team arrived, they said that it would be another day long job and more intensive because the trim completely needs replaced. Also, wires to my security system in the windows were cut and, we’re supposed to be brought up in the sales call, but that was not mentioned. Not sure what this is going to cost me but I’m sure I’m footing the bill for the sales rep’s mistake. Lastly, I was told to remove my blinds as all I’ll have to do is put them back in once the crew finished. The crew had to take the additional pieces off to fit the window, so I had to reinstall the blinds after they left. All in all, they did a fine job but the trim and security system issue are pretty major miscommunications or lack there of.
I’ve worked with a few home improvement companies and I have to say this is one of the more professional companies. My sales rep Kruize was very knowledgeable and helpful, even escalating my financial needs to his boss’s boss. If you value customer service, use Universal Windows Direct!
Purchased windows and gutters. Really enjoyed Heath our salesman. Likable, not pushy. Knows the product well and made us realize the quality windows are worth the investment. Look forward to having them installed.
He knew his stuff may me feel that they would get the job done I liked when he put fire on the glass and my side did not heat up.
Called Universal Windows Direct for a quote and they got someone out same day. Heath came out to give us a quote for a complete home window install. He was so informative, explained everything, and gave us every option while choosing new windows. Very knowledgeable and professional. Very pleased!
WARNING WARNING!!!!! Do not use this company, they lie to you, dont treat you as a priority when they make mistakes and is very unprofessional. When you leave a message they dont return your call. It took them 10 months to install the right windows. It took them 4 times to install the right bay window and before they installed the 4th bay window we had a discussion with JP(John Paul) and he made an oral agreement with me and my wife that they would get us the right window and refund us $1500 for the inconvenience. they finally got the right window but only refunded us $1000. we filed complaint with BBB and UWD response mad it looked like it was our fault that they put in the wrong windows each time. Each time they said that we were a priority, but each time it took 8 weeks or more to make 1 window. it took 8 weeks to make a bay and 8 other windows. They dont care about their customers. When they replaced the windows we had them replace the sills and the broke plaster around the windows and they didnt seal around the sills. I could see right outside. The put compound where they broke the plaster but did not sand it, the installer said we would have hire someone to sand and paint.
I had windows installed by Windows Direct. They measured the windows wrong and the installers didnt care and just installed the windows with no foam at the bottom. Because of this I had a draft at the bottom of my new windows.I notified Universal and this started a nightmare of try to contact and get them to help. First tech that came out just caulked the window and left. I could still see light coming through underneath the bottom of the window. Second person to come out was rude but finally admitted the windows were measured wrong and need to be replaced with the right windows. About 3 weeks later his boss came, measured the windows and agreed to replace them. The windows were originally installed in March and it is almost July and they still havent fixed this problem. They clearly dont care about their customers. I have never been contacted with updates, I always have to call to get a status update on my end. This has been one of the worst experiences ever with a service contractor. They are clearly too big and hire people who dont care. Everyone in their company blames the other person in a different department of their company.I guess I learned my lesson.Id be happy to change my review if they would just fix their error and install my windows properly. Hopefully someday they will and I wont be out of my few thousand dollars I spent using Universal Windows Direct.
I would rather give 0 stars....We purchased our windows in March. They scheduled our measurements for a couple weeks later, but it got rescheduled due to an employee injury. After the reschedule, they made it out to get measurements. Once our products were finished in production, they called to schedule the install. Install was scheduled for an arrival between 8-10 am. At 10 am no one had arrived and no call received. I called to follow up. Apparently, my time had been rescheduled to 10-12 arrival and was told they probably were finishing up at their morning install. 12 rolls around and still no sign of anyone and again no call. I again called to check on the status. The customer service rep reached out to the I stall team who said they were finishing their am install and they would be on the way in 1- 1 1/2 hours and they would call when they were in their way. 2:15 pm rolls around and still nothing. I again call and have to leave a voice-mail. 30 minutes later I got a return call. The customer service rep reached out to the install manager and called me back within 5-10 minutes. At 2:50 pm, the rep told me that she had been in touch with the install team and they were currently loading my windows at the warehouse and heading to complete the install. I asked if they would be installing today since it was so close to end of business day. She assured me that they had a team of 3 who would be out today to have install complete by end of business. 25 minutes later, I received another call from a scheduling rep who stated that there was a family emergency and the team would no longer be able to come install my windows, but they could just slide me over to the next day. Unable to work with this date, I explained that I had already taken a day off work and rearranged my entire schedule. They then had the nerve to suggest that since they were licensed and bonded, if someone could just be here to let them in, they could get it done. After several more explanations that the next day would not be possible, they finally offered a Saturday install. Still not possible. I now have to rearrange my schedule again to get them here on Monday. They promised me an 8 -10 am arrival with high priority install for Monday....well see.I do not have windows.I do not have any trust in this company.Customer service is nonexistent. They are only getting 1 chance to get it right. Theyve wasted my time, day, and Ive lost wages due to waiting around on them multiple times. If they werent going to be able to compete the job, just own up to it and reschedule. Dont feed lines of lies to your customers! You have my money for the project so I suppose customer service doesnt matter any longer.Do Not Recommend**update**I will continue to rate Universal Windows Direct poorly due to their terrible customer service. However, our windows were installed today and on time. The contractors that picked up our job were FANTASTIC! I appreciate them and their service today. Still waiting to hear back from Universal about the rest of my stuff.
I was really disappointed about our experience. The windows are beautiful and the employees are very nice but we were misled about the installation. During the sales pitch we were told that the installers were not contracted out but employees of the company therefore would provide an added measure of safety and quality. The installers are employees yes but their helpers/crew are hired by the installers (loophole). They left lacquer thinner in a flip top water bottle that I had given them earlier in the day. I thought it was left over water so I grabbed it while holding my 7 month old. She lunged for the bottle and put her mouth over the opening before I could get it away from her. I proceeded to dump it down our kitchen sink and then realized that it was not water. My nose and throat immediately started burning. I checked her and thank God she was ok. I was dizzy, nauseous, felt out of it and had to call someone to make sure I didn’t pass out alone with three small children. I called the company to see what the chemical was and it took them a while to get a hold of the crew to figure out what it even was. I looked up the SDS, it is highly toxic. Aside from the clear OSHA violation and the environmental impact that dumping it down the drain will cause, I have small kids and I have asthma. This could have been a life threatening mistake. I wish I could say that was the only issue we had. They left a mess behind inside and out, left my back gate open, got caulking on our front rug and bushes, broke a solar light and didn’t say anything, moved the grill and the wheel fell off, they just left it there and didn’t say anything, they also installed a window and didn’t notice they knocked the marble sill out of place. Another installer came to fix the sill 2 days later and so that’s been resolved. They were incredibly apologetic and did take money off the bill but I just wanted people to know that the crew coming in your home are not employees of the company as you will be made to believe. Maybe the installers do background checks and provide OSHA training to every helper they hire but I would be surprised if that’s the case. The manager said they (the installers) are having a hard time finding good help (which everyone is these days) but it certainly doesn’t make me feel any better about the work that was done. 1 installer to 5-6 crew members. He can’t be monitoring them all the time. If the company isn’t training them then how could I assume they are all operating with the same standards of quality? They should be upfront with that. Don’t promise something you can’t deliver.
The Techs were very professional, very nice and took pride in the installation process. They were very respectful of our home inside and out. They cleaned up everything and disposed all of the discarded materials. Great personalities and very knowledgeable.
Dylan was very knowledgeable & he sold us such a great product. Can’t wait for our official install!Dropping my review to 3 stars because the customer service is terrible. I have done more research and a TON of people say the same thing, I definitely should have looked more into the reviews before settling with them. They sneak in 5 star reviews by having the sales rep ask for one when the customer is on a high and excited about this amazing product they are about to get installed, then it all falls downhill when you have to talk to anyone about issues that present themselves before install even happens. My install is in a few weeks and we will see if it redeems the companys customer service, or if there will just be more issues that the people in the office want to get attitudes about.Final Edit: Our install was a much better experience. The crew was great & did a wonderful job making the new windows look good! I almost canceled my entire project, but I’m glad I didn’t. They say bad customer service can ruin a business no matter how great the product is, and that is 100% accurate. A little more work with the group in the office & this company would surpass all others on every level.
Was in need of new windows, went with this company because they are one of two I could find that work with a line of credit I already have established, and because after enduring the sales pitch, I couldnt muster up the energy to sit through a second one in the three day cancellation period. Having said that, I dont have any complaints about the salesman that would not apply to every other salesman. I do feel like my price was determined more by inadequate characteristics of myself than any characteristic of the product and service I paid for, but once again, that experience is true of all interactions I have with businesses that use salesmen. Installation went well as far as I can tell - the installers were on time and polite, the windows look great, and everything was cleaned up afterward. I have been saving my home efficiency reports from utility companies and will update this review when more information is available. At this time, I am satisfied with the experience - it is certainly a relief to be on the other side of it with no surprises or hiccups.
Our decision to go with Universal Windows Direct was made easy. There was no pressure to sign anything that day, we were assured our BOGO price would be good if we decided to go that direction. They held true to their word after a months time. We noticed a difference within minutes of new windows being installed. There is no longer a light breeze throughout the house and we dont hear outside noises like we did before. The gentlemen that installed the windows showed up at 9:30 and ready to go. As one window was removed, the other followed by installation. They were very professional, efficient and cleaned any debris as the worked. Universal Windows Direct was the only company that did not charge extra to have our external window black to appease our associations rule on NO WHITE windows, but we have white on the inside just as we wanted. They are absolutely beautiful and I am so looking forward to enjoying a warm house this winter. We love our windows in fact my husband is OVER THE MOON happy!
UPDATE TOWARDS THE END........I researched extensively before choosing Universal Windows Direct. Their prices are fair and the window quality is good. It is the install I am dealing with right now. The salesman Heath Merryman was great and I had specific questions he was able to answer. We like the windows - thet are solid and offer that insulation we needed. They look great on the inside and out. When Pete and Pete showed up they got right to work. Pete#1 had broken english and said he and Pete were from Ukraine, as long as they do good work I didnt care. As they finished the inside and began the outside I noticed they did not install any J Channel under my vinyl siding. When I asked Pete#1 where it was he said they dont put J channel. ???whaaaat??? And they were bending metal for trim. I have experience with window install, construction and what is right and wrong. In fact J Channel was a specific question I had for Heath. Yep absolutely we do J Channel. As I watched Pete#2 exit the truck he had about 6 tubes of caulking...no they wouldnt. YEP!!!! They ran a bead of caulking 3/4 inch wide around all of my windows. On the first window I asked Pete why and he said we do on all windows. They dont give us J channel. I asked him to stop and call someone because - there are too many reasons to state here why caulking that thick and vinyl siding wont work - and he shrugged and kept on. I contacted Heath, he forwarded my concern to someone else. So I have $$,$$$ in windows sealed up with $5 caulking. Then the fun starts. After they left and I am fuming...as I walk around my house there are more windows than not where the Petes didnt even ensure the siding was touching their caulking. They sent a person out a few days later to check my complaint and the guy walked all around shaking his head and taking notes. Service called a few days later and said they would be out and put in j channel and make it right. Today they were supposed to do that. Between 0800 and 1000. 1000 i call...well the crew is on the way should be there soon. 1130 i call again and I get tossed around and thet say we will call me back...at 2pm i call again and they said the crews are from out if town and they didnt show. So tgey will be out in a coupke days. I TOOK OFF WORK TO MAKE SURE THEY DID IT RIGHT, DIDNT DAMAGE MY SIDING AND FINISH WHAT THEY STARTED. So I like the windows just not tge comoany at this point.UPDATE: Well it took a few more times before they finally have the windows as they should be. I love the windows it was the install I had most issue with. It seems to be the norm where some workers are just trying to get to the next job than doing it right the first time. I would use again but would discuss with salesman and write down what I expect to go along with their expectations. Done!!
We had several people come to give us estimates for replacement windows. The young man that came to the door was very nice. I had no idea how much windows cost. So of course I was surprised, I wanted to pay for them without making a bill. So originally I was going to get 4 windows but I asked if I could just start out with two. He said that would be fine. A few days after that someone came to get exact measurements. So it’s all good, so we thought. About a week after that the salesman called and said that they couldn’t honor the contract that we signed, that it was going to be $500. more. I think that they just didn’t want to do the job for just two windows. And if that wasn’t bad enough they gave me back the $700 in their own time and called to tell me that they had overpaid the money for $1300 instead of the amount that was supposed to be returned. I told them as long as the money was actually in my account then that was fine. I hadn’t hung the phone when I was notified by my bank that $600 had been deducted from my account. So at that point I was out $1300 and no windows insight. That company is horrible!
The sales rep that came to our home was great! He explained all the details in a easy to understand format. We had no idea what to expect, and Brett was great! He was very nice, friendly and patient and answered all our questions. There was no high pressure during out appointment. We feel very confident in our decision choosing and trusting this company with our window project.
My wife and I went with Universal Windows because of the value, quality, customer service, and responsiveness. From day one when we first contacted them to get a quote, they were all ears and wanted to do business with us. After a very convincing demonstration of their windows in February, we decided to order our new windows. Universal Windows contacted us regularly to update us on the status of our windows. They let us know when the order was completed, when the windows were in production and when they were finished. Finally, they informed us in April that they were ready to be installed. Mind you, when we initially ordered the windows, we were told that we probably wouldn’t see them installed until late May or June. However, we were able to schedule an installation date of the 28-29 of April. Unfortunately, due to bad weather they could not install the windows on the 28th. However, they called us that morning to let us know that they would come on the 29th with a bigger crew and install all 20 of our windows in 1 day…and they did just that! Not only did they do exactly what they said they would do, but they were on time, quick, professional, tidy, and did an outstanding job installing all of our windows. They answered all our questions, and were very thorough! We would recommend Universal Windows to anyone who may be in the market for new windows for their home! A well deserved 5/5 stars!
I spoke to Dana Hallahan who was very knowledgeable and courteous. They were willing to work with me to meet my needs.
5 StarsI looked at several brands of windows before I made my choice. I’m confident I made the right choice after their representative proved that the inside of the window didn’t change temperature when the outside was exposed to extreme heat. Im looking forward to comparing last year’s utility usage with this year’s. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and competent .
Josh Culbertson is our sales rep. Josh was honest with us and early for our appointment. He explained our options fully and was very helpful in reaching our choice. Josh is a very professional and personable young man and an excellent spokesman for the company.
This company is just, wow. I’d like to say I don’t have words, but I have quite a few.We were sold after the hour long presentation from their salesman and felt confident investing thousands of dollars in our new home. We were fine with waiting for our windows to be “custom made.”After waiting, our windows were installed in the incorrect spots and didn’t fit, but we were told that the fitment issue is due to the incorrect placement. One would think the installers would find it odd that the windows didn’t fit, but no.My husband called to tell them about the issues and he was told they would call us the next to day to schedule a time to get the issues fixed. We were told we had to wait 22 more days to get our windows installed correctly. We don’t expect handouts and understand that we may need to wait a few days, but this is completely unacceptable. The promises on their website are empty and we sorely regret going with this company, but we’re still shelling out an obscene amount of money.Do yourself a favor and go with a different company. Don’t make the same mistake we did.
They were very nice men and professional they had my new Windows in 2 and half hours and no mess left behind I love my windows cant wait for the next 5 to get ordered and installed before cold weather I pray
Dana was extremely professional and knowledgeable. They offer an amazing product!
The salesman that came to our house was a little pushy about getting the sale but we couldnt pass up the cost. I love the windows, they look and work wonderfully. The installers were very nice and willing to work with me on allowing my crazy dogs out with them getting bombarded during the installation (I deal with so many people that are afraid of my furbabies). I would definitely recommend them. Our most recent energy bill was our highest yet so I am looking forward to seeing the reduction they said we should see (our new windows were installed 3 weeks before the current bill was posted).
Joshua C. came to our home to give us an estimate on window replacement. He was on time, friendly and professional. He practiced safe distances and wore a mask. He made the whole process easy. We’re excited to get our new windows!
Josh came and provided a very reasonable quote. Most importantly though was how he explained every part of the window to give me the comfort that my purchase was a wise one. I would definitely recommend reaching out to them during your window purchasing process just based on the information he provided about the window itself.
We had all new windows installed, a new front door, and a new screen door as well. We live in a condo, so there are strict rules about what these must look like to keep up a universal appearance and Universal Windows Direct lived up to their name on that! Was a really easy process with people who were a treat to work with. Brought our property value up while bringing our utility bills down. Couldnt be happier with the end results.
Windows are nice, but this is how they left our yard after going off the driveway! Instead of pulling forward to get back on driveway they kept backing up and left ruts in our yard next to the driveway almost the full length of the driveway. Complained and nothing was done to correct the sloppy mess they created.A representative from Universal Windows Direct contacted me today and were working on a resolution to correct the damage. Ill update further if and when the yard has been restored.UPDATE: Jan 15, 2019Ive been working with a representative from Universal Windows who has been extremely helpful & great in fixing the yard at the companys expense. I had a landscaping company come out to give us an estimate to fix the yard and although the work hasnt been completed yet due to the weather, I feel confident in saying that theyll follow through on their commitment to us. Company has been very understanding and accommodating, therefore I would highly recommend Universal Wi ndows Direct of Columbus!Ill update with new pictures after work has been completed!Last UPDATE: April 19, 2019The landscaping company came out on March 13, 2019 to repair our yard. Photos are posted after repairs were made.Thank you, Universal Windows Direct of Columbus for making sure the repairs were completed. (Much Appreciated)!
Salesperson Dylan was on time and was very pleasant the whole time. He was very knowledgeable and knew every answer to our questions. He gave great explanation in detail to their product. We were very pleased with Dylan and Universal Windows. Would definitely recommend for installing and customer service!
Great product! A little slow with production, but that’s only related to covid. Our salesperson advertised the windows as easy open, so easy it could be done with one finger. That is not the case. When speaking with a person at universal windows direct, she said that they should not have been advertised as such. The windows themselves aren’t hard to open, they just aren’t able to be opened with one finger. All in all, great product and we are happy with our product!
Josh did an excellent job of explaining the quality of their windows and the value. He was very polite and courteous.I called this morning and he was out this afternoon, showing up promptly on time.
DShea was very informative, leaving no questions unanswered. He was very knowledgeable of the products being offered to us. He was also very polite, personable and friendly😊 It was an absolute pleasure to work with him!! this guy knows his stuff and is a great asset to Universal Windows!!!
Joshua C. came out to give us a quote. He was on time and very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He went over all the information about options, pricing, warranty etc with a lot of detail. He did a great job!
Great installation crew and their product is offered at a fantastic price! Our utility bills have been reduced by 35+% very happy with our energy savings and our street noise reduction! Highly recommend windows and company. Jeremy O.
We have been waiting for months for our windows to be installed. Supposed to install today and we were reminded yesterday to make sure all windows were obstruction free including curtains. They were supposed to arrive between 8 and 10. 10:15 I called and was told they forgot to let us know they have to reschedule!! Now we have all windows uncovered and missed work time for nothing!
Kruise was very knowledgeable about the products and listened to my concerns about my project. He gave me a great deal and did not pressure me into a purchase.
Love our new windows, patio door and front door! Great service from Sarah, Josh and Jeremy (sales staff) and Bob, Adam and Brooks (installers). We automatically noticed the difference of heat NOT coming from the sun and the control of noise from outside. They are absolutely beautiful both inside and out. Thank you!
Great experience with Universal Windows Direct when looking for new windows for the entire house. The sales rep Bill Seevers was professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire experience.
Ryan Finnegan did an excellent job, yeahI appreciated him. he is very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I usually dont let strange men in after dark but I felt very comfortable with him he was real kind person
We had the consultation last night. The product will be delivered and installed in 10-12 weeks, but the professionalism and knowledge from Mr. Heath Marryman was superb! Cant wait til the windows are installed and start benefiting
Sales pitch was just that. It was a sales pitch. The whole buy one and get one free was a load of poo. And the 2 years 0% financing was a load of poo too, because you had to put down 50% to get that special financing. But I expected that. So don’t go in with high hopes as far as their “sales” are concerned. But the product is very high quality. The main thing I was impressed with other than the windows were the installers. They were awesome. Knowledgeable. Personable. Explained everything. And the windows looked great when done. So all in all, really really great product, priced similar to other window companies with equal products. Installers were great. Don’t let the sales guy put you off. When I told him to get out of my house with his initial quote, he came down 9k in less than 15 seconds. Sooooo, don’t take the first quote. Maybe I should have sent him out the door a second time to see if he would have come down even more. Hahahahaha
Excellent services from the initial consult from the Virtual Home and Garden Show to the salesman and the installers. The installers were able to finish the entire house window replacement in one day. They were professional, respected our home and space and did a great job cleaning up everything and with the installation.
Very efficient installation. Any issues were addressed immediately. Overall very happy with everything!
We had a great experience! Took a few months to get them installed but that was because of the pandemic. Installers worked fast and cleaned up everything. Very happy to have our new windows.
The guys called the night before to confirm and showed up right on time. They made a tough job look easy and the results are great.
We were impressed with the quality of the windows and contacted them for a quote. I was not a fan of the sales tactics as far as both parties being there for the appointment or the 80s style sales presentation and tactics. When the windows were installed, I was really impressed with experience and installation from the crew. (John, Billy, Tayna) I would give 5 stars if not for the sales part of the process. I was so frustrated from the sales process that I almost gave up with them, but the install crew made up for it though.
Josh was very knowledgeable! No gimmicks or tricks. Simple and easy and I will be using them in the future for more work!
Wonderful job very satisfied but one thing you should do is clean the windows with winded and paper towels my windows were not cleaned
They were great! The presentation was great and their windows are top notch quality. I highly recommend!
Ryan was awesome! Very professional and easy to talk to. On time and explained everything very well! We will definitely do business again!
We ordered our windows August 2020 and they were installed on January 26, 2021. Covid and glass production/demands (from all of the broken glass in the country) slowed production down which slowed the process and delivery down. The wait was long and frustrating at times, but overall we are very happy with the top quality of these windows. The double lifetime warranty is very nice too! Six windows were installed in about 5 and 1/2 hours start to finish. We had one very experienced installer who did a great job! He informed that production is improving for their windows- so our wait may have been unique to the pandemic. We negotiated and opted for an affordable monthly payment plan that starts at time of installation.
We were looking for 2 bay windows but they were unfortunately not in our budget. Josh did a wonderful job finding a solution to rehab the existing bow window and a replacement window for the other that was within our budget.
In 2019, they installed 5 new windows, and we just hired them to do the rest. Love the work they’ve done, and their reps are always so kind, respectful and patient.
Please do yourself a huge favor and dont use Universal Windows Direct. The salesperson did a great job making me think I was getting a good deal, but that was the only part of the process that went well. No need for all the details here, but between huge delays of delivery, damaged product, very low quality installation, complete lack of ability to reach someone on the phone, it definitely would have been worth paying a lot more to save the hassle. And no, contrary to the reply below these issues have NOT been resolved as of 1/14/2021. I just received a call delaying a service visit yet again.
The product itself is very nice and holds up. I’ve had windows for almost two years and they are very nice. My family members have ordered doors and I have too. The only problem I have is the wait time for your products to come from the factory. Then they cancel your installation appointment over and over again. That is a problem after having spent the money on these products to keep getting set back they don’t even over any kind of reimbursement after having you rearrange your schedule several times. If it weren’t for that I’d have given 5 stars.
We got 6 windows, and they are amazing! Firstly, the installers, James and Eric, were just wonderful. They answered all our questions, and made sure everything looked perfect. They were very kind and helpful to my family while I was at work.Secondly, the windows have changed so much around our house. We live on a corner where there are a lot of inconsiderate bikers, and wannabe drag racers. They would wake us up at all hours of the night. However, since we got our triple pane windows, weve been sleeping through the night with very little noise. The windows look beautiful, and we will be calling them again to do more windows in a few months!
I typically do not leave negative reviews, but have had the same issue three times. For a company this large the organizational skills are completely lacking. My mind is completely blown on what we got ourselves into here.I would like to be fair throughout the whole process. To start our sales guy, did a good job working with us. Kudos Cruze!!!From there straight down hill. Cruze said that we would get a call the next day to schedule our measurements. That happened a week later. The appointment was scheduled for the following week, first available date. I took off work for this appointment waited two hours never seen or heard from anyone. My wife called and the customer service team did apologized for the confusion but said that we were scheduled for a month out.Two days later, I receive a calendar invite for the installation of the back door. I was confused but happy as we had not had a measurement. Again I take the time off from work to be home. At ten minutes of the two hour time frame I get a call that the crew had an accident and couldnt install. My wife calls to follow up and we the Customer service team again apologies that we should of not got a request at all, that it was not our door. So now I am out four hours of work and nothing has happened. My wife confirms that are measurement is still a week and half out, and sure enough we get another calendar invite for the next day to install a back door.So end of story. We were told we would be contacted next day to get a measurement quickly. Contacted a week later for a measurement two weeks out, that ended up being a month out.Receive two request to be available for someone. Make the availability and no one shows. Six hours of work missed for no results. My expectations have not been met. We had spoken with several other companies who sold the same or similar product, and feel that we should have went another direction.
He explained the different colors of the window and the quality of the window in hit and cold months. How to use the window and lock them, and how easy to clean.
I was very impressed with my sales rep Josh, he was prompt, courteous and he is so knowledgeable about their windows! He educated me about their products and I was very confident in my decision in choosing to go with Universal Windows Direct.
Our initial consultation with Josh from Universal Windows Direct was great. He was very straightforward and answered all of our questions. Very professional.
Save yourself the headache, lies, unprofessionalism, and non transparency.Yesterday 3/22/21 I was scheduled to have windows installed between 8-10am. 10:30 arrives no call stating anyone would be late, or a change of schedule, and no one had yet to arrive.I call for Universal Windows, for them to tell me it’s scheduled 2-4pm. I said ma’am my email says 8-10, if it was changed I don’t appreciate not being notified, for I took whole day off, a 6-8 hour delay is a huge difference in time. After a few minute hold the lady returns and says it was just changed and their was some sort of delay.I said okay so 2-4pm, please have them call when their in route and to respectfully call this time if they were going to be late.4:30 rolls around. No call, no installer. I call for the second time to see where anyone was. A lady said she could not verify any information about the status of the installer because the manager Jake had already left. She said she emailed Jake and he would contact me shortly.Approximately 30 minutes later Elizabeth with customer service calls to me to say, an installer came out today and we didn’t answer so he moved in to the next install job. I assured her I have been home all day. I have a dog who would’ve barked, and I have absolutely no calls or missed calls from them. Not even a call when it was delayed at 8am to 2-4pm. THE ONLY CALL WAS A CALL CLAIMING AN INSTALLER CAME. She said, he took picture of my house and she was going to take his word on it . I said, anyone can take a picture of my house and go on to the next and claim they showed up. At this time customer service didn’t even reschedule me, I requested a manager who’s name she gave as Bridget. I asked for Bridget’s last name who she said “I’m not going to give out that information.” For a professional business, I find it baffling for some to deny me of a persons last name for my records, and to further contact. They had no email to provide me for a manger, or phone number to contact directly.I call today 3/23/21, and was transferred to Jake the manager of the warehouse. I re-elaborated the story and my frustration, because clearly someone along the lines was not being truthful, I can pull my phone records and assure no one showed up. I took a day off work, which I lost pay for, and my time, to be told an installer showed up and I wasn’t home.Jake Refused to compensate me for my lost pay, or compensate for what ever kind of miscommunication he claims happen, which clearly was on their end. Refused to get anyone out their ASAP, after no call I. Regards to a delay, no call about anyone being on the way, and no call and until after I call trying to figure out where anyone was!Jake told me he could not and would not compensate me for my lost time, and the inconvenience. He also stated he couldn’t compensate me because I’m already getting a “deal.” The deal In which they offer a “discount” to advertise their business in your yard, and so forth. I have to advertise a company who had provided me with the worst, and most unprofessional service I have ever encountered with a business. I couldn’t believe I even needed to ask for them to make this right, which they refused to do. Jake had no excuse, reason, or knowledge of why it was even delayed from 8am to 4pm. No one would tell me what time this installer apparently showed up. No one will give emails, or full name to speak with people to resolve the matterI asked for a manager above Jake who he stated was Matt Curry. I asked for a direct line to reach him, or an email to reach him at and refused/ said there’s no way to reach him directly, I would have to await for Matt to contact me. Which in two days, I’ve now called 8 times, and one person called back claiming an installer showed, but that we weren’t home. No follow up as requested the day before, an no one even had the audacity to call me promptly the next day to resolve the matter, or to reschedule!!!!I’m beyond ready to file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office if they do not resolve the matter correctly.
Ive used UWD of Columbus twice before, and each was a good experience. The third time, however, is not the charm. Sales rep was great, but its been horrible trying to get them to 1. actually get out to measure my doors for replacement; 2. get anyone to return a call to me to discuss what their last-minute cancellations and now an additional month (after nearly a month already) in getting an appointment to just get the doors measured so they can build the replacements. Ive scheduled my own work around their promises, but now need to change things Ive already adjusted to fit their own schedule (and now cancelations). Between the cancelation and their inability or unwillingness to return phone calls--or even to answer the phones at times--this is becoming very frustrating.
Joshua our sales rep was great. On time and professional and gave us a great quote within our budget
Kruize Wandling was our salesman. He was an absolute professional in showing us the products. He went over every detail of the windows we purchased. He answered all of our questions and walked us step by step with financing. He is a glaring example of how product salesmen should act and treat their customers. Five stars.
I had my windows installed April 28th, 2021. The installers had to leave before my job was completed because of the rain. However, they installed ALL of my windows, and only had the outside trim to complete. The installers were great, and did a great job. I called to schedule them to come back to finish the trim on the outside, but the Install Manager is a Flake. His name is Jacob. He promised to call me 3 different times. He only called me back once, to tell me he would call me in the morning to give me a time for the installers to come back. That was Wednesday, May 12th. He didnt call me yesterday at all.I called them today, May 14th 5 times. They left me on hold for over 15 minutes each time. I STILL did NOT talk to anyone. Not the Install Manager, the General Manager, which I requested to speak to numerous times.Customer Service is of NO HELP, because they just keep putting me on hold. So, as of Friday, May 14th, STILL no response, NO date for completion of the job. Nothing but Frustrated.
Tristan Daniels is a wonderful salespersonI was looking for basement windows so Universal was a little pricey for my budget but I definitely want to save up to replace my 1st floor windows. Tristan did a great job with his presentation to me. Such a nice, knowledgeable and engaging young man. I want to give him the sale when I decide to replace my windows in the future.
After several hours of not right now andhe lowered the price, not now and lowered the price again, and so on. The salesman had taken $10000 off the quote. The salesman promised not to run my card for a week. I canceled the next business day. They then ran the card early just to spite me for canceling. If you could do the job for 18000 why did you quote me 28000? Just to make it look like a deal. What happens if I said yes to the first price? You just pocket the difference ? Not an honest way of doingbusiness.!
Kruize Wandling was an excellent representative of Universal Windows. He was very pleasant and informative. He explained the process thoroughly, and we are confident that we chose the best company to replace our windows..Bill and Regina Ausich
