We have two excellent experiences with Trappers Tree Service. They have removed an 80ft pine in very close proximity to our house and done emergency work to clear a maple in our backyard that had fallen into our house. Both trees presented a lot of work and unique challenges. In both cases Tom was professional, responsive, provided outstanding communication, high quality work, and expertise as an arborist. We cant recommend he and his team highly enough, and well only call Trappers Tree Service for tree consultation and work in future.

I made four calls to tree service companies. ONLY one company answered my call. The other three (one a nationwide company) never even returned the call.Tom was at the house within the hour. Quickly determined it was safe to remain in the home for the night. He also checked the weather, and because we had to be at the cemetery in the morning for a family funeral. We had a very large and very old tree that needed to be removed. It was located in a difficult spot between two homes. We spoke with one company that offered a quote then admitted it was more than they could handle and backed out, then another that did the same. Finally we were referred to Tom who was able to get this difficult job completed. It involved using a very large crane to access the tree and to avoid damaging our neighbors driveway. It became a Significant event in the neighborhood given the size of the crane truck and tree. In the end it was removed successfully and we are pleased with the service we received. Tom was very communicative during the process and even provided pictures since we were out of town on the day the work was done. He clearly loves his work and being in the tree business. We recommend Tom highly!

Tom does good honest work. I called him after a tree fell on my garage. With my garage barley holding on it was a dire situation to remove the tree so that when the garage failed my house wasn’t damaged as well. Tom got his team out working to remove the tree just a few hours after my first speaking with him. They were quick, efficient, and mindful with their work. I was able to come back to my home that evening to have dinner with me family. I was honestly amazed at how quick he was able to handle the job. This is a stand up guy with a stand up business. Tom was easy to work with and his pricing was better than the other quotes I received. He and his colleague did a great job on our trees. They could only squeeze in an hour of work the first night, then they really worked their butts off the next day. They worked for almost twelve hours the second day in some dreadful heat.Coincidentally, between the first and second day they were working on our property, an extremely large limb came down on our fence on a different part of our property. I was able to cut it all up and get it off the fence, but cleaning up all that wood would have taken me forever. Luckily, Tom offered to help out with the clean up since they already had their wood chipper with them. Saved me a ton of time.Tom was also very flexible with our last minute requests. For just a bit more in price, he agreed to cutting a few more trees down than we originally agreed upon in the proposal.We had Tom cut down quite a few trees and branches that were near the house or the shed, and absolutely nothing was damaged. Ive worked with Whole Tree Care over the last 18 months and have never had a disappointing experience. Ive had a very old and weak tree that had to be removed, trimming of other trees done and consultation on a struggling tree in my front yard. In every circumstance, service has been efficient, courteous and affordable. Every member of the company with whom I have had dealings has been unfailing in being helpful and clearly cares about meeting service expectations. As an example, when I needed a tree removed, the clean-up after was without flaw. The office manager always follows through with communications between me, Tom and the on-site service team. Most recently, I have consulted with Tom on another very old tree that is struggling. I appreciate the education he has provided on what the issues are and options I have if I wish to delay removal since the tree is not in danger of falling. I have not experienced this level of honest communication with tree services I worked with prior to calling Whole Tree Service 18 months ago. Last but not least, when Tom came out recently for a status assessment of the struggling tree that had been in treatment over the last year, there was no charge for this consultation. It is clear that Tom cares about providing great service and has set this expectation as the standard for all staff members of the company. I dont even think about going to another service for comparison since I began working with Tom.

We had an extremely large tree leaning against our shed that needed a crane to lift it off and remove. They were able to do so by taking their time and doing it safely without damage to the shed or lawn.

Update: Because of a cancellation I was given the option to move forward with my tree removal earlier than originally expected. I agreed and the team arrived promptly and began working immediately. They were professional, courteous, and cleaned up everything upon completion. They even took some smaller branches that had fallen over the past few weeks. As fast as they arrived, they were gone. The tree was removed and the stump remained (per my request) at the exact height I wanted. I met with Tom this morning for a estimate on what to do about a tree in my front yard. Instead of spending the entire time trying to sell me on why I should hire him Tom spent the time educating me on what I currently had (the pluses and minuses, if any) and what I may want to consider. Called Tom for a quote thinking he would be the most expensive based on his reviews, experience and knowledge. I was wrong.Asked him to remove 4 trees which were completely covered in poison ivy, and to raise the degree of difficulty, asked him not to let any of the trees damage various flower beds we had planted underneath and nearby. Tom assured me they would do everything they could to protect all the plants below, while secretly I resigned myself to accept that some wouldnt survive the culling. I was wrong. I was so disappointed with my experience with this company. One of the workers came to my house on April 11 to discuss expectations with a tree that needed to be trimmed. At the end of our discussion, we agreed the work would be done and that I would receive confirmation from the office regarding the schedule. I didnt hear anything the rest of the week, so left a message on April 14 asking if I was indeed on the schedule for services. When I still didnt receive a response, I sent an email on April 17 stating I would like my tree to be trimmed, and would like to get on the schedule. I sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls over the next week asking for confirmation -- and never received it. On April 21, after having received no response from anyone, I reached out to another company to schedule services and notified Whole Tree Care that I no longer needed them to perform any work at my home. It was only then that I received a phone call from the owner of the company stating the work was completed that day and the tree was trimmed. He went on to explain the office manager was on vacation. I understand that workers go on vacation, and that is completely fine, but if there is only one person in the entire office responding to emails / phone requests, an out of office message would have been nice. For a company that prides itself on customer service, I was shocked to have one of the worst customer service experiences Ive had in quite awhile.

Originally I rated Trappers with a 5 star. I regret that I dont have a way to change it to a 1 star now. Because of my first good experience, I hired Trappers to do a second job for me to remove a tree and grind the stump to the ground. The tree removal process knocked the bark off of one of my Maples and left a sizable stump. I was told that the stump would be ground to the ground. This was necessary so that my neighbors fence panel could go back up without the stump interfering. I also asked that I be given an advance call when the grinders would be coming so I could give my neighbor a heads-up on removing his fence panel. Fact 1: I was never contacted when the workers came out (and I was out of town at the time). Fact 2: The workers did not grind the tree level to the ground and I have pictures to prove it. My neighbor still cannot properly join his fence panels. Fact 3: I emailed Trapper multiple times (I still have the email copies) about getting this fixed and never received a call or an email back. This is NOT the way to do business.

Whole Tree Care did an excellent job taking out numerous trees and brush on my property.  Tom came out an gave me a very thorough assessment of the work I wanted to be completed. He also took the time to give me some other tips to help increase the health of my remaining trees.  The team that came out to complete the work was very courteous and cleaned up very well.

I had a huge tree emergency on a Friday afternoon. Not many of the other tree services were interested in starting a job at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. I called Whole Tree Care with Trappers Tree Service and they had someone available. Tom T. came to take a look at the problem tree. He stated it would be best to remove the rest of the tree that was hanging over the apartment building, because it possible it may fall onto the building. He had his crew out at the site and was working on it 2 hours later. Tom has a really dedicated team that worked quickly and professionally. Tom took great interest in making sure the building was safe from the falling tree and he and his entire crew worked well into the evening. Tom and same crew members made it back out early the following Saturday morning to follow finish the job. I will highly recommend Trappers Tree service to anyone that asks about tree services.

Trappers Tree Service has been excellent at providing expert analysis for all of the trees in our yard. As a person who loves shade over air conditioning this has been super helpful. Tom has been excellent at responding to my needs especially regarding a failing pin oak which is now receiving a manganese deficiency treatment after some well needed leaf analysis identified the failing as not being the suspected iron deficiency.Dont hesitate to call Trappers if you want some advice and someone who is willing to help keep your trees alive!

Trappers Tree service is GREAT! Theyre true professionals who know how to do everything trees and more! They trimmed an old 70 Black Walnut that was dropping its nuts on my new roof. To prevent damage, they trimmed it back, gave it a proper Arborists touch, and it looks great. The comforting thing is that I know it was done right by professionals who take the whole health of the tree into consideration. During the consultation, there were parts of the tree that they actually recommended keeping to maintain the integrity of the balance and health of the tree. Whats more: I wanted to keep the cut limbs for backyard fires and to my surprise, when I got the bill, they had also given me a bit of a break on the price! What a great customer experience! Id definitely use them again.

Whole Tree Care provided a large job of removing several dead and dying trees and loads of underbrush in an over-an-acre sized lot. Tom was very knowledgable about central Ohio indigenous species and provided professional advice about which trees to trim and which to remove. We had a number of extremely large hardwood trees that came down on/around our cabin during a bad windstorm and Tom was able to get them all off without allowing the trees to cause additional damage. This job was turned down by many trees services due to the complexity of the slope of the land and the size of the trees. Tom planned out how he would tackle the project and I must say it went flawless. He went the extra mile to educate me about the other trees that we have on the property and any risk that they may pose. He even cleaned up some old brush that I had on the property while he was there. I would highly recommend Tom and his company to anyone that needs tree services.

It is beautiful, but sadly has some spots in its old branches where water has gotten in and bugs have started eating the soft damaged wood. I just had a tree removed by Trappers. Excellent service. After the tree removal, the area was very clean. The staff was very nice.

I love when I get to deal directly with the owner of local business. You can tell right away that Tom is really knowledgable and passionate about trees and tree care. He knew exactly what to do to revive my silver maple tree and even gave me advice on dealing with the electric company when they wanted to trim and ad growth retardant. I feel like my trees are in good hands.

Do NOT use this dishonest company. Tom, the owner, voided my warranty by trying to tell me that 2 of my new trees didnt get enough water, which you could say about nearly any new tree that dies. I did, in fact, water them on a regular basis. Then he tried to sell me another $1,000 in discounted product and services to make up for it. Funny - thats about how much those 2 trees & installation cost in the first place!On top of all that, he was very nice and courteous in person when he came out to look at my trees and told me he would take care of me. Then the next week, he EMAILS me the denial. Not even a phone call - complete lack of integrity.If you value your money, go somewhere else where they will treat you right and with integrity!

We needed to have two trees taken down and called Trappers Tree Service. We received a response within 24 hrs and had an estimate the next day.They removed our trees on schedule, with excellent clean up and very reasonable pricing. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

Very responsive. Tome came out and looked at my trees when we bought a new house. Gave basic care advice and some maintenance tips. He was super helpful and courteous and helped with everything that I needed.

I wish I had more trees so I could deal more often with Tom Trapper Taber and Whole Tree Care! Ive had him out a few times to do everything from picking up some limbs after a storm to trimming back my two giant trees in the front yard to keep them from damaging my roof in the future. Tom and his employees have been extremely helpful for me and the upkeep of my trees.

We have gigantic residential silver maples on our lot that loom out over our home. We called several companies and one was an hour late to come scope out things to be done, another didnt show and one bid what may as well have been a $billion.Trapper’s Tree Svs came out, on time, professional, and walked the property with us. We saw other areas of concern with our loved sugar maple and our other giant tree, a sycamore.In the end, we confirmed (during bidding process) the other areas that Tom saw were, indeed, worthwhile to address. The work was great and while ALL tree care sometimes seems like a kick in the knees to a budget, we do know we spent our money well with Trapper’s!

Decided to cut down an ash tree that had been destroyed by the emerald ash borer in my back yard,of course everything went wrong and the tree ended up hanging up in my neighbors tree,googled emergency tree removal and began calling everyone listed,Trappers was the only tree service to actually answer and help make an assessment of my situation after sending him several photos of the situation he was able to advise me and put my mind at ease concerning the threat, he was knowledgeable and very helpful,so thanks for answering the phone on Saturday and taking the time to help me.

I was so impressed with Toms assessment of my tree trimming needs. After the work was done, I though it looked good, but was a little unsure if they cut all that need to be trimmed . Tom came out and explained to me in great detail my concerns . Iam happy with his explanation, and would recommend this company to anyone.

Tom provided the emergency response after a huge oak tree fell on our home, crushing our family room. He went above and beyond; he was honest, knowledgeable, and professional. He and his crew were efficient in the tree removal. I reached out to him several months later to get his advice on another tree and his response was immediate. I consulted with Whole Tree Care regarding a few of the trees in my backyard, and was immediately impressed with their knowledge of common problems for each species of tree, what to look for, and what caused it in the first place. We then discussed options for fixing the problems immediately, as well as longer-term replacement strategies for a few years down the road. Friendly & honest, Ive found my go-to tree guys.

We called to get an estimate to have a partially dead tree removed. Tom shared that the tree is in the AEP right a way and had been marked for removal them (AEP) to remove. Very upfront and honest business man....Tom is awesome! Highly recommend this business!

My review is not about the business itself but about the integrity and responsiblity of the owner of the company. On May 2, 2016, I was involved in a car accident that was caused by one of the employees. The male driving the car had no insurance for the company truck he was driving. Weeks after the police report came out. I found this company to be the employer of the driver who caused the accident. I have made several calls and left messages about this and have not received any responses . What kind of business owner fails to acknowledge the fault that is caused by one of his employees? It is very sad to see that someone who treats people this way can feel good about themselves. I wonder if this is how he treats his true customers. This is pretty sad and pathetic behavior. Still waiting to hear from you....
