Very nice place. The people who work there are friendly and it seems like a no judgement zone. They are great about respecting Covid regulations as well.

The best gym CA has to offer. 2 floors, both are well equipped with ample space, locker room has many amenities (sauna, showers, scale) Over all a very nice gym for whatever fitness goals you have. Customer service is good depending on who you deal with

Nice staff and things are well maintained. During pandemic sauna, hot tub, showers and lockers are not available. Ever 2and machine is blocked so as to ensure social distancing. And class sizes have been reduced as well

The Columbia Athletic Club is open. The club has added all of the Maryland suggested Covid-19 safety measures.The exercise and workout areas are not busy. The four tennis courts are available by making a reservation. Check with the front desk on the heated pool availability.

While at the gym yesterday there was a member refusing to clean off the equipment after use. He became very verbally aggressive and combative when I asked him to wipe down a machine he had just finished using and I was about to use.I went to the front desk and asked for a manger. The guy at the front desk said he couldn’t leave the area but that Michael, the manager, would be there soon. Twenty minutes later, still no Michael. The guy at the front desk (who was aware of my concern), called for Michael over the intercom and suggested I write down my complaint. I’m not sure what this would’ve accomplished since what I needed was for someone to speak with the member.I continued waiting for Michael, who again never showed up. The front desk guy then asked me what the member looked like. I provided a description and left after is it clear Michael wasn’t going to come.What was abundantly clear, is that staff no do want to get involved in COVID violation disputes. I opted to pay my dues and return to the gym under the impression (an impression given by CA) that policies would be enforced. Clearly, this is not the case.If CA can’t take the steps necessarily to enforce rules they developed, perhaps they need to stop collecting dues and close.

I walked into the update Athlete Center and received a warm welcome filled with great smiles, helpful staff (answered all my questions) showed me all updated equipment, explained all the class choices, and even gave me an incentives, so I joined. Ask me again in a month or so if the warm inviting staff translates into a good healthy experience, As of today, so far the future looks good and. Yes, I am optimistic . Have a great work out!

Im 68 years old and have worked out since undergraduate school when it was required via classes requirements. The Columbia Athletic Club has a kind and professional staff, amazing classes that are available at all fitness levels and is a very clean well maintained facility. No matter what your fitness level and age, it will meet your needs.If you have younger children or grandchildren, the child care facility is a free service with an excellent curriculum. The clients are friendly and extremely welcoming.

Love this gym because of all the free space to do any kind of work out you want. Good cardio machines. The weight training machines are a little too close together for comfort. But every thing else is just perfect about this place. Raquet ball and tennis courts are great. Oh and parking is always scarce.

As someone who was born and raised in Columbia, I was really excited about this gym, but its so lackluster they dont really cater to the younger clients they have. I was told by a man who had to emphasize he was a Trainer at this gym to turn the music on my phone off because it was distracting to other gym members, moral of that point I had forgot my headphones. Now that would be understandable if I wasnt lifting weight to the trash they call music they play on the loudspeaker. I am not going to get gains by listening to Nickleback Rockstar. Thats contradicting to say the least. If anything play a clean playlist of gee I dont know music to workout to? Is this an athletic center or a retirement home?

Morning staff is great! They know you by name AND number! Patrons are very warm and friendly. Feels like family! Facility very clean, user-friendly. Some of the best personal trainers in the Columbia Association organization are here! My husbands favorite gym!

Very nice updates throughout. Not as big as the other two CA gyms and kids space in particular is smaller, but for a quiet workout place thats not super busy its a great location.

Always a good place to work out at... been coming here for years and always have a good experience, the staff is great, they are nice and friendly... the equipment is clean and in working condition... everything is organized in a way that anyone will be able to workout at any level and not be in any other persons way or have anyone in your way... defiantly recommend hitting this gym up and utilizing this facility...

I used to love coming here but not so much anymore. The gym is always crowded and at times you have to wait to use the equipment. Also, you cant relax in the sauna or hot tub anymore. I am constantly seeing the same people in sauna or tub talking away for hours! Ill try the other gyms..Maybe it wont be as crowded.

This athletic center has a variety of equipment and classes. The people are knowledgeable and efficient. The cost is reasonable in my opinion, especially rates for families, and if you live in a Columbia-assessed property you get a lower rate. They have good on-site child care that is also amazingly priced. You can leave your children there for up to two hours. They dont change diapers so youll get a page if thats needed. Convenient and well run. I do wish there was more parking.

Overall I have really liked this gym since coming in August.Pros: Locker room is clean and new. Like using the hot tub/sauna. Equipment is mostly sufficient, there are 3 bench presses, an incline, a decline, 2 squat racks, an olympic platform, a smith machine and plenty of variety of free weights and machines. The CrossFit room is fun to use the switch things up, though it’s only available when classes aren’t happening which is essentially only on weekends.Cons: None as of nowEDIT (11/21/19): Changed from 4 to 5 starsI originally commented that the gym had gotten way over-crowded over the past few months and there wasnt enough equipment or parking, but this week I noticed a big drop in patrons. Checked the status of the other gyms renovations and it seems they have been completed. This is great news and has made parking and using equipment much easier.

Love this gym - clean locker rooms, excellent staff who get to know you and really care about your needs, great personal trainers, good equipment and plenty of choices in the weight room. The only thing that would make this gym better would be if the treadmills were available for members other than the Package Plan Plus level.

Favorite of the gyms. Its older than the Columbia Gym and Supreme but I think it has the best layout of the three. And the morning staff is awesome.

GYM is priced competitively, however get overly crowded during prime hours which often results in waiting to use equipment.They do a good job of ensuring equipment is in good working condition. GYM also has a good variety of ammenities.

Been going here since I was kid.. great facility. Upstairs, downstairs and courts are great for getting a good sweat. Minor things could use updating..

Go off peak hours otherwise the place is jammed with people standing around talking about working out and acting like this is a big part of their social life. If you want to actually lift and break a sweat you need to go in with a plan with alternatives to work around four guys watching one guy bench pressing 225 like it was the NFL combine.

My wife and I attended the Supreme Sports Club and we liked ita lot. We switched to your Facility on Beaverkill Rd because of the warm water. We are both 66 and also like your friendly, helpful staff and cleanliness.

This is by far the best gym in Columbia. Well equipped, clean, great facility. You can say the above about all the Columbia gyms. What sets this gym apart from the others is the staff. They are, plain and simply, wonderfully friendly and helpful people.

The renovated space is really nice. This location has everything you could want.

Mens locker room is always wet and hairs are everywhere. The new sauna is very small and barely enough room for 4 guys at once. Towels run out often too. Lastly, my treadmill randomly cut off a couple weeks ago. Had I been old or not able to keep my balance I would have been seriously injured.

Its a great gym with a wonderful atmosphere and great people. The trainers are knowledgeable and the equipment is state-of-the-art.

Love the Athletic Club, but its closed for renovation from May thru October of 2018. Update : the updated & reopened club is even better!

Theres a wide selection of atheltic equipment, as well as atheltic activities which take place here so there is sure to be something youll love. The locker rooms are nice and well-maintained, which is definetly a plus. There is also a plethora of amenities for all the members here.

The trainers are not in good shape, the equipment is lousy and most of the staff is not friendly. Several TVs on the wall however, they only have CNN and CNBC. The restrooms are nasty.
