Dr. O was a tremendous help to our daughter during her college search. His method really helped her learn about herself – her interests, her talents, her strengths and weaknesses. He took the time to listen to her, allowing her to identify the type of college that would be the best fit, and offered recommendations for colleges of that type. His guidance and resources helped her research those colleges, and find others on her own, so that she could narrow the long list down to the critical few to which she wanted to apply. He coached on applications and essays - she did the work, but the pre-work, along with his critical reviews, really brought out the best in her. Dr. O helped her create a manageable schedule to meet application deadlines that kept her on track, and took the stress out the process (for all of us!). Thanks to Dr. O, my daughter won a Carolina Scholarship--USCs highest scholarship. My daughter did the work (and work hard she did)--but Dr. O made it count. He pointed her in the right direction and then kept the whole process on schedule to minimize stress. He is a kind and fatherly guide who helped us both in so many ways. He helped my daughter identify which colleges would be the best fit for her ambitions and her learning style. Then he worked with her, starting at the beginning of high school, to make sure she was taking the right courses so that she could get in the kinds of schools she wanted. He was unbelievably available. For example, he talked with my daughter by phone when she was on her campus visits, making sure she was asking the right questions to determine if each college would be a good fit. He helped smooth over difficult family situations. I could go on and on. He was a friend, a guide, an encourager and a believer who made all the difference in one of my daughters most important life decisions. The results are so much greater than his fees. But even if she hadnt won scholarships, his services were worth every penny. You cant put a price on kindness, sanity, sound guidance and caring. I will be forever grateful.
