Posting this on behalf of my husband as it seems like his review was deleted. He reserved a time online and received a text message to go in, he did. He told people he was there waiting and was told to take a seat and wait. He did for One full hour! He said six people walked in and were seated before him. He left the place as he couldnt wait anymore. This is unprofessional and a total disregard for a customer. Shame on you guys!

Great place.... Actually stopped by here on a moments notice. They were able to take me as a walk-in and I was treated exceptionally well. A great haircut is always a plus (my hair grows like wildflowers), but it was the conversation and overall experience that I truly enjoyed. #greatprice

I have been going to Sports Clips locations all over the country, but this was my first visit here.. I hope this stylist was new because she definitely needs a little more guidance. She was very timid. She was very nice, but her clippers didnt seem sharp enough because they got hung in my hair a few times. I got the MVP, and when she went to wash my hair and head massage, I could barely tell she was even touching my head. No pressure, no circular motion, not even sure if the shampoo got moved around my head. Then when she went to do the back massager, same result, I could barely feel the device on my back and seemed very short in timing. Again, she was very nice, haircut was Ok, but they need to give her a little more instruction on the other portions of a Sports Clip visit. The overall experience is why I pay what I pay for a haircut.

I visit this location monthly. I have been pleased with the quality of haircuts and professionalism. However; todays visit was troublesome. The CDC and the Governor lifted the mask mandate, especially for vaccinated individuals, which I am. I entered the facility with my mask off. I was greeted and immediately asked to put my mask on. I asked why are they requiring masks with mandate lifted. I was told that none of the stylists were vaccinated. I said that was something they were going to have to remedy and was told no. A client in the chair next to me asked his stylist about the masks and her explanation was that they wore the masks because of close contact with the client. It is the individuals choice whether they want to be vaccinated. If they choose not to be vaccinated, they can wear their mask. As the client, I am not the one that should be inconvenienced.

The team counld not find a mask to wear! Now, what about your commitment to safety, again?

We have never been disappointed when going to Sports Clips in Dobbin Center. All the stylist are nice and knowledgeable. My boys adore Roz and asks if she is available when they get their hair cut. She knows all the little quirks of their hair. Would recommend this location anytime.

4 1/2 stars. Only because I feel some of them dont do a good job cutting my son hair. Other than that I like sports cut time wait, cleanliness and friendly customer service.

They seem to be having consistency issues with communication of their actual hours open versus what the hours posted on their website versus the hours on Google...so I would call ahead. Otherwise it’s usually a decent haircut with good people.

Absolutely horrible, I took my biracial son there for a hair cut and she completely butchered his hair, if she didn’t know how to cut that type of hair then she should have skipped him and went to the next person…

Walked in at 5:02pm. Was told they wouldnt cut my hair as a walkin since they closed in 58minutes...meanwhile 3 hair stylists were just sitting around and a fourth was cutting someones hair. Loved the welcome back signs all over and yet I got refused a simple basic mens haircut.

I went to this franchise on Veterans Day 2020, and was hoping to get the free haircut that the website says is for veterans and active duty with ID presented. AFTER I got the haircut, the woman tried to charge me full price, saying the free haircut was only for Veterans, even though the website says Active Duty and Veterans with ID. I showed her that statement on the website, and she said that it was up to the discretion of the franchise to determine that, and proceeded to charge me full price again. There was no sign or marker or anything to indicate this, and once again I was only told this after I had gotten my haircut. I feel ambushed and that this is false advertisement. Do not go here, they will scam you.

I have had a positive experience every time I have been to Sports Clips, which is about 4 times now. They have always had great service and done a great job with cutting my hair the way I wanted and I love the VIP service they offer.

Sports clips has incredibly friendly and professional staff. They create a safe and inviting environment in spite of the current pandemic. Customers are required to wait outside and two people are allowed to be in the shop at a time to recieve a haircut. The price is more than reasonable and a discount card is given for the next haircut. The haircut exceeded my expectations all around. This is a great place to get a haircut.

Best Sports Clips Ive ever been to. Their Stylists are kind, quick and professional, and know exactly what theyre doing(EVEN WHEN YOU DONT). I basically ask Make it look good every time, and they work magic. I make a 30 minute drive just to come here :).

Good cut fairly quickIve almost always had a good cut here. Others are decent. They will do what you ask for.Their services are good with the several types available.The app lets you check in ahead of time and beat the rush. You can also choose a stylist.

Carolyn is the best hair stylist and colorist out there! I wish she could do more there than just cut hair- but I’ll take what I can get! I have been having her cut my hair for 36 years and my family’s hair for 27 years. She brings in the clients- she had 4 people waiting just for her when others were available. That says it all!! 😊

I liked by Hairstylist, Roz. As a first timer to this location and franchise I didnt know what to expect. Having a free haircut coupon helped me bring to this location. After a 15 min wait on a Friday night, she greeted me and asked what cut I wanted. She listened to my fairly simple request. She spent time to cut my hair (didnt rush, it was 2 on sides and scissors on top). She talked along the way (enjoyable conversation). My hair was evenly cut and I liked it! I will be changing from my old spot (which was cheaper) to this location just based on this one cut and customer service.

I always go to sports clips for my hair cuts but if your in this local area and especially if your a veteran or active duty, this is a must go. The staff is very friendly and Kara is my go to for my haircuts. She is amazing at military hair cuts but all others as well. Do not i repeat do not put a hat on after she cuts your hair . Just fyi 🤣. Semper fi.

This is a great location. Carly is my favorite but I like everyone who’s giving me haircuts. I really want to let them know how much it means to me (as the parent of an adult child with special needs) they open their store for special needs programs to being their young adults in to help in the store. Great vision and community responsibility to go along with a very good haircut.

I was hesitant to go in, with everything going on, but once I was there and saw what they were doing, I was instantly put at ease. Very cleanly, distancing, masks, sanitation, precautions for everything. And the haircut was great too! Kept me as a customer.

Hair stylist I went to easily 5 stars, the place itself is 2 stars at best. Other stylists gossip about clients and their lives in front of other clients. The lightening is terrible and several televisions have color issues due to age, wiring or overheating.AC in the joint hardly worked with the lighting so warm in there. Also how come not all the wash stations and vibrating chairs worked?

Worst hair cut Ive received and gapped up my hair.

This was my first experience and I was pleasantly surprised. Trish immediately greeted me, helped me with signing in and Immediately got to work. Got in w/ no wait. The girl who cut my hair was very communicative and personable, and very invested in getting an idea of how I wanted my hair cut. I get my hair cut every 3-4 months and never know what to say for how I want it, but she had a practical approach to narrowing down how I wanted my hairstyle. My hair looks great and it feels nice when your barber/stylist can walk you through to realizing your vision and then making it happen.

Ive seen and heard a lot of bad things about Sport Clips. Personally, I dont agree with the negativity. My most recent visit to the Columbia, MD store was great! Monica cut my hair exactly the way I like it! I also went with The MVP level haircUT which is the highest priced cut on their menu. It was totally worth it for me because the barber I used to go to charged $25 for a fade. For that same $25 at Sport Clips I got an equally well done fade and line up, she washed my hair while I relaxed in a massage chair and I received a light shoulder massage after the shampooing. Obviously I got way more for the same $25. Its a no brainer for me, Ill be going back to Sport Clips to see Monica for my next haircut.

Although the barber that was cutting my sons hair wasnt quite sure how to do what I wanted for his head, she immediately asked another barber for help and they got it done! It was perfect! I would prefer, and definitely appreciate someone asking for help when they dont know, then mess up the kids hair! Thanks guys! I do wish they took appointments though.... Which is the only reason I didnt give it five stars!

She even told me how to brush my hair to make it look better b/c my head is slightly bigger. Anyway, I luv this place, and I definitely will go back again.

I was a Hair Cuttery customer for the past ten years, moreso because of the convenience and proximity to my home, but I was never really happy with the cuts Id get. Then I tried Sports Clips on a whim, and I was sold after my first experience. Great place for guys to get a cut. TVs to stare at and the stylists understanding that you just want to chill and not have a conversation make it a great place.

VERY IMPORTANT READ!! A year ago I walked into sport clips and began my journey and transition from a 10 year bond I had with my old stylist at floyds. Well, since then I have never looked back and could not be happier with the outcome!The staff there is simply amazing, caring, fun to speak with and incredibly professional! Funny story; about 20+ years ago I once had a truly amazing stylist by the name of ROZ and one day I was working with a stylist by the name of Patricia at that location who BTW is one of the main reasons I kept coming back to the location. Well, one day Patricia and I were talking about some of my past stylists and I mentioned a woman named Roz that I once lost contact with and how much I loved Thank way she cut my hair (very particular) and low and behold as I was talking about Roz, little did I know that she was there and working with another client right behind me. Patricia said hmmm.... we have a stylist named Roz here, I immediately turned around and looked at Roz and she looked at me, WE COULD NOT BELIVE IT!!!! 20 years had passed since we had seen each other and I was just simply in awe that she was there!! Such a small world!! Well, from that day on; I knew I was HOME and had not one but two absolutley amazing stylists to work with! So the moral of the story is that you look for incredibly high-end talent and I sincerely appreciate what you did to make my experiences so wonderful there! I have left reviews everywhere for the store and will continue to do so to promote a fine establishment that GETS IT! That is my honest and cordial opinion of Sport clips and I will make a point of recommending my friends and family to ANY sport clips as a favor for doing such a nice job for me. It’s the right thing to do! What goes around comes around! 😀

Great place to get a hair the MVP is the best so relaxing.

I liked the idea of a sport based barber at first, seemed like a manly place to go to. But it very quickly became a crowded soccer mom barber. I was going to get a haircut before going to a wedding, but since there were about 6 kids in there getting haircuts the wait time was 45 minutes. I have never had to wait for a haircut before, and certainly wont wait 45 minutes to get a 15 minute haircut. Also there was a kid sitting next to me that kept kicking the bench we shared and mom didnt seem to care. The benches are uncomfortable as is, but that was the last thing it took for me to get up and leave. Also, the store hours on Google are incorrect. Sunday they close at 5, it says 6 in Google. As the store owner you should keep that kind of information up to date. Especially when customers show up at 520 and get told in a pretty impolite way that you are closed. Thats strike 2 of not getting a haircut there. Only reason I gave a 2 star instead of 1 is the fact that the one time I was able to get a haircut it was a great cut. However strike 3 was the price. I pay less money for a cut at the barber down the street. Same quality of a haircut, less money less problems, less soccer moms with annoying kids.Update: They have apparently changed their Google opening times shortly after my review. But they didnt bother responding, so Im removing one more star from my review. Welcome to a world of public conversations and feedback.

Quite possibly the worst haircut Ive ever got. Honestly the only reason I went in the first place was because I had a voucher for a free haircut. To give you a bit of context, I have a buzzcut hairstyle all around and so I didnt expect to have such a bad experience with such a simple haircut. The person cutting the hair was very unsteady in the hands and dug into my scalp as though the razor needed force to cut the hair.I come home to take a closer look only to find that my head wasnt evenly shaved and patchy. I get that this was supposed to be a free haircut, but I left wondering how somebody that professionally cuts hair messes up a buzzcut so bad. Long story short, I wont be going back. Maybe the other locations will provide different experiences, but mine will keep me away from this business in the future.

I came from Ellicott City with my free MVP haircut coupon that I got in the mail( for new customers). I had never been to that location so I thought the coupon was valid for me. They didnt honor the coupon but the lady was nice. I thought she did alright but after closer review I decided not to go in public with the sharp unwanted line between hair legths. My neck was also scruffy around the edges. I got out the clippers at home, my wife helped and all is well. Update: they offered me a free haircut and I believe this time I would receive it. I might go in a few weeks.

I walked in the seemingly nice establishment smiled at barber that was behind the counter whom looked at me and said nothing. Since this was my first time going into this place I was not sure that I had to check in so I sat down while the person behind the counter went into the cutting zone. Another person came to the front looked at me, looked at the sign in sheet with only one other name (as I found out later) and sat down in the chair (approximately 5 min later). I was one of two people in the lobby at this point. Another gentleman came in, he was promptly greeted and was asked to sign in. As he did so she asked him a few questions and told him that he would be taken back shortly. I went up to the counter and asked if I should sign in, she said nothing to me and just stared at the cash register (10 min later). So I signed in and decided to take a seat. The first gentleman there before me was greeted by a stylist and taken back (10 min later). I then noticed that two other stylists were just talking to each other. One came up looked at the sign in sheet and called the other gentlemen back (10 min later). I then asked the lady behind the counter if I had to do anything else before I would be called back and was met with no response. I then looked up other places and left. A total of 40 minutes passed and not one single time was I greeted or even acknowledged that I existed. I hope that this doesnt happen to other people.

I would give them five stars but they need more options for the product they offer; especially for a dude-centric place. Not a lot of people have time for an MVP but how about a shave with a nice hot towel.

The checkin option for this location is bad. You check in and it tells you to arrive at a specific time and when you arrive and a walk in comes right at the same time, you get bumped for the walk-in. What’s the point of checkin if it doesn’t save your spot. Even the stylist in the store said I should have just showed up and not bother checking in since whoever arrives first is the priority. I walked in w 0 wait next to my name and a walk-in arrives and checks into the kiosk before I get to it and I’m the one waiting when I had the pre-signed up instead of the check-in. Save yourself time and don’t use their checkin feature since now I have to wait 24mins because of a walk-in.

Great experience. Been to many SportClips and barbershops. None better than the Columbia SportClips. Ive had about 5 different stylists there and all of them ask detailed questions about the haircut I want. Everyone of them knocks it out of the park with a great haircut. I like getting the hot towel treatment.

Walked in about 5 minutes before stated close time. I was told that they were closed even though the door was open. When I tried to respond to the stylist, she just turned around and didn’t say anything. I guess they don’t want business. I’ll be going elsewhere.

Worst place that I have ever given haircut,my hair was about 6 inches long and I went for a trim, I came out with 1 inch short hair. I am very angry. The hair stylist was absolutely untalented and irresponsible, I would never ever go back. I am so disappointed. I dont understand how they get hired. Never go to this place.

Dont bother. Ever. Grossly undertaffed on the weekend. Noone at reception or greeting when you arrive. You wait 45 minutes then get passed over because they cant manage a sign in sheet. Ive had my hair cut three times, and I have walked out for the third and last time due to unsatisfactory customer service. Go to Baltimore or DC for a decent haircut.
