My personal learning style did much better with the role playing, more interactive aspects of the course, so I found the lecture sections to be a bit challenging... but thats just based on my own personal learning preferences. The 40-Hour mediation training was a wonderful way for me to dive into a new career as a mediator. I received divorce mediation training from PSI in April, 2016. I really liked my two trainers, Monica and Jan. It was very evident that they know their stuff! They are such skilled, natural mediators. I also really appreciated the in-depth role plays that we did, which often lasted an hour or longer. Although intense, they were very educational. I left training feeling confident and ready to launch my private practice. I highly recommend PSI as a training organization.

I took a Divorce Mediation Course with these gals. Couldnt have had a more positive experience. The course content was rich and informative, while experiential learning exercises allowed for the ongoing enhancement of my practical mediation skills. Since 2012 I have taken two courses at Phoenix Strategies. All the staff are excellent. They have many years experience in their specialties, extremely professional, and care about the individual progress of each of their students. Classes are well managed with an effective blend of course presentation and question/answer sections. Staff is very available before and during the course for any concerns or questions. Once a student graduates from a course there is good follow up for lunch and learn events. Occasional opportunities to sit in on specific mediations are also offered to students. I have completed three courses with Phoenix Strategies. Monica and Jan are very knowledgeable subject matter experts, gifted instructors, and highly personable individuals! The PSI course model is, in my opinion, outstanding!The small class instruction allows for feedback from other students and the instructors. I have considerable experience in the business world and decided to enter into professional mediation. I completed the forty hour training class through Phoenix Strategies and the experience was outstanding. Not only are your taught by experienced professionals in the industry, you are provided with excellent printed resources for after you complete the classes. Each participant also will have actual experience mediating fictional cases with agitated opponents in conflicts. They offer the benefit of video recording and review of your performance by the instructors, coaches, and others in the class. I can recommend them with no reservations.

I ATTENDED THIS 40 HOUR MEDIATION TRAINING AND WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE MATERIAL AND PRACTICAL FLOW OF CONTENT. WHAT I FOUND MOST HELPFUL WERE THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO PRACTICE THE SKILLS WE WERE LEARNING IN ROLE PLAY EXERCISES. THE SMALL CLASS SIZE ALLOWED US TO ASK QUESTIONS AS THEY AROSE AND ALSO TO IMMEDIATELY PROVIDE AND RECEIVE CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK THROUGHOUT THE TRAINING PROCESS. Monica & Jan did an excellent job of working us through a lot of material in a pretty short period of time. Both are experienced mediators and have the skills and background to impart their knowledge in an effective way. The role plays and corresponding feedback were a crucial part of the program and helped me to see my strengths as a mediator as well as the areas where I need improvement. Phoenix Strategies offers training for mediation, but it goes beyond that. The courses can help in everyday situations as well as a strong basis for a career. This courses can be used not only for mediation, but also in HR, counseling or any other situation that involves a conflict. The cost of the program was extremely reasonable and well worth it. These courses have been a huge benefit to me and I highly recommend them.

Several colleagues had recommended Phoenix Strategies Basic Mediation course. I had high expectations going into the class and the experience exceeded my expectations. When finished with this class, I had the basic skills to manage conflict in both the professional and personal arena. The teaching style used during the course was excellent in helping give me a framework to address conflict and mediate in a variety of situations. I have taken many classes and workshops on group facilitation, personal growth, leadership and community engagement over my twenty-year career in the nonprofit sector. I successfully completed the 40-hour Basic Mediation Course with PSI. Prior to this, I had researched and contacted several mediation companies in Colorado who provide this training; however, only two of the companies responded. I chose PSI because not only did they respond promptly… they answered a plethora of questions via phone and email over a 3-month period. Folks at the Phoenix Strategies Inc. (PSI) are awesome. Excuse me for lack of a better word to describe the work they do. The trainers are knowledgeable in their areas of specialization and, in general, they show a very high level of professionalism. I have had opportunity to attend two of the PSI trainings. The trainings are conducted as mixture of informative presentations and role plays. Class time is hand-on and interactive. In my last class, the PSI staff brought in professionals that work at office of the ODR to update us on the how certain sections of the ODR operate. I think that was neat.If you want to be appropriately trained in the Collaborative, Facilitative and Interested-based model (CFI)of mediation, I think, PSI is the best place to go for the best experience.

I took a basic mediation course at PSI, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only are the staff friendly, knowledgable, and experienced, but they emphasize participation and practice in transformative type mediations. So as soon as I finished the course, I felt competent enough in the basic skills and ready to conduct a real mediation. There were some university students in our class who had degrees in conflict resolution, but hadnt been able to practice what theyd learned yet. The PSI class gave us all a chance to learn through practice in transforming relationships. The critiques of video-taped student mediations are conducted in a gentle and encouraging manner. I wish more courses had hands-on learning like this, because thats the way I learn best. Top notch instruction and feedback!
