This place must be run by the far left. Thats the only explanation for all the pools. Its all the Y looking like they are face planting around every corner. Ive got a list of complaints a mile long. I wish someone that could handle the pools would take over. Clearly the Y cannot.
Im not a member, but took my grandson for swim lessons. The classes were very small, with lots a one on one attention, free swim time, and fun, informal atmosphere. The facilities are old, but clean and well-maintained. We would arrive early so that parking was not problematic. It was overall a great experience for my grandson and me.
Love this Y. It’s never crazy busy. Everyone is nice and helpful. My kid loves to go. The swim instructors are amazing.
Tom and Dave are amazing!! They are so good with the kids and make learning to swim fun. I was amazed that both my girls were able to swim all by themselves down the length of the pool after the 2nd lesson.
Love the vision and mission of the YMCA! Love the variety of programs for all ages and cannot imagine fulfilling my gym needs and so much more anywhere else!
This location has the best lap pool in the Colorado Springs area... But they constantly hold swim lessons in two lanes and water fitness in the rest, I always get booted it seems no matter what day of the week I go. Its a shame they have such a good lap pool that lap swimmers hardly get to use.
Best Y in the springs unfortunately too far away. pool is huge. Life guards are kids with too much power and rude
Complete lack of customer service. I had a conflict with a member of the child watch team. There was no effort to resolve and I was unable to feel comfortable utilizing the child watch. This situation had a detrimental impact on my health journey.
Good classes are offered, equipment is kept in good repair, instructors and other staff are friendly.
We enjoy this location the best. Kids adore the child watch here. Friendly, professional, caring, knowledgeable staff. My whole family enjoys our y membership
I wrote this letter to the Manager of the YMCA, and never herd back.I was at your swimming location on Dublin. I have twin seven year old girls. While in the lazy river, both my girls and I were going around in circles. My one daughter was about five feet ahead of me, and then other was in my arms.Your life guard mumbles at me. I say excuse me… he proceeds to mumble. I interrupt him and express that I cannot hear him, while pulling my ear forward. He YELLS “you need to watch your kid, you can’t just let it roam free” loud enough for other parents to hear.Afterwards he proceeds to go to each of his co-workers, discussing his opinion of me with each of them. Each co-worker looked around for me, and if they couldn’t find me, he felt it was important to point me out to them by pointing directly at me.What is the age, where children are allowed to be within five feet of the parent? He ruined a family outing. Each visit to your center has always been uncomfortable… this day, I left within a few minutes of being in the pool. These children you have as life guards are far too immature to have such a serious position, protecting our children and local families from harm. Etiquette and customer service lessons are sure in order.I paid for three daily pool passes. I would like reimbursement.
Friendlier staff than the Briargate YMCA. Patrons are nice. Front desk staff are pleasant. Machines are readily available when needed. However, some staff members working in the gym area could improve their customer service skills. Meehon (probably spelled her name wrong) is a wonderful employee, highly charismatic, and is a wonderful asset to this location.
We have been going to this location for over 6 years. My daughter has been in swim lessons and swim team and I use the gym during her swim practice. Everything was great up until about a year and a half ago. I dont know what happened, but since then registration for swim team and swim lessons has been the biggest pain! Every. Single. Month. They screw it up. I sign up the kids, then they get dropped from the schedule. Every. Single. Month. I have to spend between 15-45 minutes to unscrew what they screw up. They always blame it on the computer system. Get a new contract for your computers! Wow! Why is it a freaking rocket science to have kids signed up for swim classes? We are sad but we have to leave. We are going to try another Y and if the same problems exist there too, we will have to leave the Y all together. Signing up for classes should not be the biggest a$$ pain in my life but has been for over 18 months now. Very obviously nobody cares to fix the problem. Sad.
Super fun classes and a welcoming environment. Everyone makes me feel right at home at the Garden Ranch YMCA.
12/28/18- First time here in about a year and they decide todays the opportune time to do a fire drill... in 13 degree weather. Everything seems to be broken in the times past that Ive come. There are better gyms around.2017- Never open at the right times if you work and have kids. They claim to be family oriented but apparently this is family oriented if you are the stay-at-home parent. I work 8-5 but thats on a good day. I come home and eat, help clean up, get the kids to bed. By that time its already 8. Now that I have some free time I decide to go and swim some laps at their pool at a quick glance at their website it says the Facility and Pool hours are from 5:30 - 9:30 on the day I am going so I grab my trousers and off I go. After showering before entering the pool the lifeguard stops me and tells me theyre closing. Its 8:30! Thats not what their website said?! I went back to their website and found to my dismay (you have to scroll down further) that there is a separate pool schedule APART from the one that says Facilities and POOL. So Im soaked and dont have regular gym clothes to work out it and went home with nothing accomplished (other than this review). Besides this one occasion they are closed on even the smallest of holidays which is really the only other time/day I have open to come. So if you work and have kids at home, choose somewhere else besides the YMCA. I would but my wife is currently stay-at-home so it works out for her.
My family and I have been going here for years. Every year the cost goes up but the facility never gets improved, the ceilings leak everywhere, its dirty and poorly maintained. Over the last 2-3 years, there is a constant staff turn over. I pay a little extra every month to get a discount on the kids activities including 25% off summer day camp, which I was informed this year, they no longer give a discount for, but again, as every year in the past, the membership prices go up. This is a great facility if you are approved for assistance, but if you make too much youll pay as much as you would pay for a wayyyy nicer facility like Life Time.
The staff at the Garden Ranch YMCA are absolutely outstanding...so very friendly and helpful! The location is Scenic and Convenient.Yes...the building REALLY begs for Renovation/Repair. The facilities have been going through a repair process since a new building maintenance person was hired-Mr. Steven? What a Go-Getter! He has repaired all of the roof leaks and also the holes in the parking lot that had been deferred and accumulating over the last several years. This is a great facility for family and has also proven itself as a wonderful destination for the empty-nesters and Seniors. It would be fantastic to keep such a facility up to speed all of the time...Far cheaper to do the preventive maintenance than the total repair of the deterioration of deferred maintenance. All around Great Value.
Ive enjoyed playing Pickleball at Garden Ranch a few times, but I regularly participate in several different types of classes ... Silver Sneakers, Tai Chi, Yoga, Zumba, and Cardio Drumming. I even invited my grandkids along to a drumming class and they loved it.
Always clean. Great staff. Wonderful exercise progams.
The track was about 100° today. Fans were put in the big gym -perhaps to blow the hot air UP to the track? Ridiculous!
As a Zumba devotee for ~15 years, Garden Ranch Y does it best and the people are outstanding! Its a party!
Love the Arthritis swim classes.
Staff is decent. They lose three stars because three times Ive been lied to by their schedule only to have my concerns shrugged off and ignored. I get a schedule for a reason, but when old people can migrate in and take it over whenever (wasnt in the schedule ) why would I take my daughter back to swim? Sunday, schedule says the pool is open, reception tells me its never open and Sundays and everyone knows that. The straw that broke the camels back is when they do it directly to my daughter. Schedule says bounce house Friday morning. Kid looks forward to it all week. Says its valid until march, but no. They pull it out and let the kids see it all uninflated, get disappointed, make some vague excuse about basketball, and do something else. When you print a schedule it shouldnt be too much to ask to follow it, but it seems to be for the Garden Ranch crew. I dont think well be back.
Definitely agree that these facilities are maintained to create a good value. While we usually go to the Briargate and Tri lakes location, we came here just to check it out and we had a good experience. I love the value of the y especially with having a large family its perfect!
They only care about senior citizens and children. Not all the people in between actually spending the most monthly. You would think the people who open up the locations would be friendly at 6 AM. The guy upfront helped confirm my decision of cancelling my membership.
Awesome warm staff! Rachel took care of my family and myself. I would highly recommend this Y to anyone!
Gotta decent court and dope people that go here, but this basketball season thing gettin old, closing off the courts every single time for the games got me packin for no reason, and courts wont even be open till noon which is way to late especially when ya mood killed. Yall gotta fix that, build a new court or something but appearently 2 aint working
Has a close family feel, with great people including staff and members.
Great support for us Pickleball players! Thanks
This is a great Y with wonderful activities and programs for kids!
The classes and instructors are 2nd to none! While the facility needs work--its still getting the job done for now. Great fun and friends made thru the pickleball group as well! I also very much like the inclusive and encouraging atmosphere at the Y--it truly is working to build a health spirit, mind and body for ALL--since no one is turned away for lack of ability to pay. I like the community feeling and comradery at the GRC Y. I love seeing people of all ages and abilities doing what the can to stay health in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Its a family and community place to be and makes us all better people!
The Sunday before spring break I called and asked if my 5 year old had swim class on Monday still and the front desk said yes they do, we went on Monday and didnt find her swim class, when I asked the front then they said there is no swim class during spring break. I said ok, wasnt a big deal then but on Tuesday I call TWICE about daycare since me and my husband have to go to work and both the front desk says 8:30 am is when it opens. So I couldnt drop her off or I would be really late to work so my husband called his job and told them he was going to be a little late so he can drop her off, he goes to drop her off and they said they dont have daycare there but try downtown, my husband was furious since we called TWICE to ask then he called downtown and they didnt have a straight answer on if they had daycare! So he had to just call off work and got written up! I am disappointed that the daycare doesnt open at 6 a.m. like the before daycare YMCA at the schools and that they dont know their schedule!! Whenever my daughter has a snow day or on break now me and my husband have to let our jobs know we are gonna be late every time!
Wonderful and friendly staff.Classes (Cycling, yoga, and bootcamp) are wonderful
Decent facility with friendly staff. Needs more room in the weight lifting area.
If FOX news isnt on every time I came here, then Ill make this a 5 star review. Until then, Ill assume the Y shares the same egotistical, unethical, primitive, anti-scientific views as Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.
Try getting them to answer the phone if you have questions. Terrible.
The staff are very friendly, however, very often they do not know whats going on with schedules, especially pickleball. The maintenance and upkeep of the building is very poor. The roof leaks, lights are burned out in the gyms, there is no air conditioning, the gym water fountain has lukewarm water, theres debris all over the gym floors, the chairs are all broken or missing screws that attach to the chair frame, the dividing curtain in the gym has been broken forever and never repaired and the parking lot is pathetic. Overall the building is falling apart.
Staff goes above and beyond in my experience!!!Facilities are maintained to produce good value.
Great staff, Mariah and Calla very helpful!
The pump is finally fixed at this facility so the temperature fluctuations have stopped. However, on two occasions in ten days, only one guard has shown up so patrons cant use the pool. Get it together.
Being charged after membership has been cancelled and still haven’t received refunds that’s are owed to me.
Staff doesn’t even speak. They don’t acknowledge when you walk in, you just scan your card and go... I walked by atleast 7 staff members and not one of them said a word... I’ll stick with the Y on jet wing
Amazing staff at this Y
Classroom Space is nice and clean.
Nice. People
This girl Lena that worked there was very ruid
It really is a family.
