Great spot to get a nice cut. The folks here are always friendly and accommodating. Reservations are made easily, and the cut is usually a timely affair. Lots of parking, easy to find building, and a hip atmosphere make this an easy place to return to.

My wife scheduled an appointment a week ago to get her hair cut and curled for a wedding and these unprofessional clowns canceled the morning of the wedding and even after my wife stressed she was in a wedding party they just said oh sorry! DO NOT USE ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED IT DONE FOR ANY OCCASION!! This is not the first time I’ve had an issue with this business either last time I used this business I sat waiting for over 45 minutes past my appointment with no body cutting hair and everyone BSing at the counter. I had to walk out because I had other appointments that I refuse to miss or be late for due to this businesses unprofessional ways! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!

This was my second time trying this location and I will never go again. I made an appointment ahead of time, arrived early. Waited 15min past our appointment time to be told oh the stylist is running behind would you like to schedule an appointment for Monday instead? No, Ive waited 15 mins and I scheduled on a weekend for a reason. Then Im told no problem it will be just a little longer but just so you know that its going to go into my appointment time. So I lose 15+min off my appointment because Gabby is running behind. Another 15min pass and the receptionist (who is friendly enough) says Im sorry she cant see you today. Her appointment ran over to long and she has another appointment coming in right after ours so we need to reschedule. Now I have waited 30min to be told our appointment is not as valuable as the next. I clearly upset ask if there is someone else that can take our appointment because we were getting family pictures done that evening and needed the haircut then. A different stylist came up and gladly took us back. During the last 15mins of waiting before being told we werent getting serviced I saw Gabby finish with a client and then head to the back to never be seen again during our visit. Once the other stylist got us back it took a total of 20mins to cut my sons hair and pay. Luckily that stylist who saved us said to ask for her anytime and gave us her personal card. I will never come to a locals again and I strongly encourage others not to as well

Locals is rad. Hands down fantastic. I mean, I’m a guy so I have to ask all you other guys, where else can you get your hair buzzed and a beer for $15? Not to mention by stylists who actually know what they’re doing and LISTEN to what you want? Locals.I typically get my hurrr did every couple weeks by Savannah and she’s awesome! I’ve also had the pleasure of getting a cut from Katelynn and my daughter has gotten hers worked by Melissa. All fantastic stylists and great people!

I’ve been getting my hair cut at Locals for a little over 4 years now. The service is always on point and I’ve never left disappointed with the cut. It’s more than the hair cut. I usually enter pretty stressed, and by the time I walk out, much more relaxed and feeling like I can conquer the world. The straight razor shave, hot towels, wash/shampoo and free beer are always super enjoyable. A hair cut goes from a “to do” on the list to a “get to do”.

Updated hours are on the door but have not made it to their website or posted on fb page.

Locals is absolutely top notch. Their staff is always friendly and helpful, they offer free beverages to clients, and they have a fun and inviting atmosphere. I’ve never gotten consistently great cuts anywhere else, and the owners are come of the best people I know.

I was here and helped by Jeff(medieval barber) I asked to get this design and I came out better than I could’ve ever hoped for! It took under 14 minutes! I can not believe how amazing this experience was, as soon as we entered they asked if we wanted anything to drink and we only waited about a minute to start! The price is the one thing I was worried about but it was very cheap and reasonable. This is truly the best hair experience I have ever had and I will soon be going back for another appointment and I can’t wait!

I used to always go here when I had a pixie and while I was never really happy with my experience, I kept going. Now, I am trying to grow it out and my hair was long enough for a bob. After 20 minutes, I was charged $47 plus a $10 tip and when I got home, my hair was back to the length it was 6 months before. Not only that, but the cut is obviously crooked and one side of my head is much longer than the other. I am so unhappy right now and I cant believe I spent months trying to grow it out just to be right back where I was before. I am NEVER coming here again.

A friend recommended locals to me and I have never had such a great haircut! Madison did my hair and I was impressed with how professional and kind she was. I went from having long shaggy hair to cutting it short and she did an amazing job. She knew exactly what I wanted AND gave some great tips on how to style it and how short to go. I am impressed with locals and everything about it. Highly recommend!

As usual Im always tired of the same look. I went in clueless and ask for an opinion on what I should try for a new look. They asked me some questions and sure enough the first haircut they showed me I was hooked! They environment is so calm. they offer me products that always matching my style. Over all theyre all talented and a great please to get a hair cut.

Always a great experience coming here. The stylists are friendly and professional, with excellent skills. Ive been getting my hair done here for almost 5 years now with various stylists, and have never had a bad cut. It doesnt hurt that those over 21 get a complimentary drink while youre getting groomed, either.

Been a customer for almost 4 years now. Never had bad time. Zach, Melissa, and the rest of the staff have always been great. And the complimentary beer doesnt hurt either. But be sure to call ahead and schedule your time in advance, especially on weekends.

My mother owned multiple Salons growing up and I have been around numerous Barbers and Stylists. Jeff is one of the best Barber / Stylists I have ever been around. he has a great attitude and not only provides great cuts - but also enjoyable conversation. If you are looking for a new style or a new Salon I would most certainly recommend Jeff over and over again at the Locals shop ( University Village Location ). Best barber shop I have ever been to. They really take the time to get you looking good and pay attention to all the details. Not to mention you can enjoy a beer before the cut.

My 13 year old son calls for an appointment at 5:45 PM and he is told that he has to pick 5:30 or 6:00. He unfortunately picks 5:30. We arrive at 5:42 PM and we are told that we have to reschedule because we are more than 10 minutes late and that there are no more walk ins or appointments available today. Keep in mind that we have been here at least 15 times and never been late. Over sitting in a couple of barbers chairs talking, not with a customer, are 2 stylists. Apparently they were not available! I understand that the stylist needs to be available for the next appointment, but I can’t remember a time that my sons haircut took more than 15 minutes. So I spend 40 minutes in the car one way and drive to get my sons haircut for nothing. The amazing thing is that over that 2 minutes it just cost them all of my business about $250 a year. It is not the policy that is my particular problem, it is the overall way that it was handled. I wonder if you were to show up and they were running late more than 10 minutes if they would give you a free haircut? By the way the answer in NO this had happened to us one separate occasion. We were offered an apology in that case.

Locally (ironic, right?) Owned place that will serve you a beer while you get your hair cut. The folks there are very friendly and do a great job getting you looking the way you want to look. I highly recommend them.

I just had my haircut by Robin Morgan-Stewart, and WOW 😲!! She is by far the best barber that I’ve ever had in my life!! She pays attention to detail and cuts your hair exactly like you ask / want. She will not cut too short, and she always makes sure that you are happy with your cut (which is why she does not take off too much unless you ask her to take off more). She’s never once cut my hair too short - perfect every single time!! Not only that - but the atmosphere at Locals is unmeasurable- great service too!! We have been repeat customers for my 15 yr old sons hair for a couple of years now up until June 29th. He had a great cut no complaints there. Until I went to pay and was charged 80$ for a 15 year olds hair cut!! After I left I called back because the cost just did not sit well. Of course I was bounced around about who knows what, and who has to contact who and so on. Here it is July 10th and STILL no refund. Can not get a hold of said owner who is supposedly taking care of this except for by email. They took my money right away but here it is 2 weeks later and still nothing on my end back. When they did charge me incorrectly and even had a staff meeting about it as well as price. At this point i want ALL of my money back and we will no long be doing business. Also charging a covid 3$ cleaning fee when its state regulation to be cleaned after each customer anyway!! Never again dont waste your time or money!

I got my hair colored and it wasnt exactly what I wanted at first, but a simple phone call, and they got me right back in and gave me the look I was going for, free of charge. Highly recommend them for cuts, colors, kids cuts, and even haircare products. You also have the added bonus of a complimentary coffee, wine, or locally brewed beer on tap.

Staff are fantastic and they give complimentary coffee/beer for your haircut. Madison has been my go-to for sometime now and she always does a wonderful job! Ill be moving away from Colorado and I hope I can find as good of a barbershop at my next destination.

I would not even give zero to this place. Overpriced, if you are charging $29 for a haircut; then at least it should be done nicely. While finishing the haircut, I got cut in the back of my head. When I asked the guy who was doing it, he told me it is small cut. In fact, it was burning a lot. When I was in the middle of the haircut and telling the person about how I want my haircut to be; then I was told that let me finish it first because we have a lot of customers today. So, I can not just say it like this. After charging $29 bucks and cutting someones skin. Please learn your skill and then say that you want more customers. I do not know the name of the person who did my haircut, but he was bald. To the management, please hire someone who knows what they are doing; otherwise no one would come. I agree the fact that anyone can do the mistakes but then do not give excuse that you have no time since many customers are there. It would imply that you are interested in getting quantity of customers, but not in the quality of haircut. Not coming ever again.

I have been getting my hair cut at Locals for about 3 years and have never had a bad cut. The stylists are friendly, attentive, and skilled. Especially Madison who I have been going to for about 9 months. Definitely recommend. Each haircut comes with a complimentary straight shave to trim plus a shampoo/neck massage.

This place is amazing. I don’t get my hair cut often but when I do (twice so far this year) I ONLY go here. Friendly staff and they treat you like royalty. This is not a Walmart haircut and the prices are very reasonable for the experience that is provided. Locals has my business as long as I’m in Colorado. Cannot recommend enough.

While a little expensive they do excellent work the first time. I normally have my hair cut by Tannis, who does a superb job everytime, but she was out for new years. Kevin cut my hair and I have rarely met such a deliberate and careful barber. He meticulously checked every portion of the haircut ensure he was giving the best one possible. He wasnt rushed or hurried and gave the job his full attention throughout

I dont have enough experience to say that the barbers here are the best in town, but I really enjoy my experience every time. The barbers Ive worked with are open to answering my questions with their opinions and while theres some nitpicky things that I dont like with some hair cuts, its mostly a communication issue on my part. Theyre always super patient and friendly and I really like that.

This place is awesome! I live out of town and I could never find a barber that I felt could do what I wanted. I talked about this with my girlfriend, who lives in Berlin, and she googled this place and suggested I make an appointment with Jeff specifically. Im so glad I did, because Jeff and his coworkers are awesome! I told him about how I learned about this place, and Jeff asked the owner, Etienne, to come over and hear my story about how this establishment reached us. They were both thrilled that even from all the way in Berlin they were attracting customers. The haircut was great, the free locally brewed beer was delicious, and the service incredible. I got my hair colored and cut. At first it was a bit scary because there was a lot of brassy color or orange with my underlying pigment, but I went back and asked the to tone it down. They were really nice. I think waking up today and doing my hair, it is a lot better. A huge change, but with a fresh blow dry and curl I’m ready for the world and I’m excited about the new hair! Previous to today, this was the only place Id go to get a buzz and beard trim. Now I know exactly why thats the case. Awesome service, actually trained stylist who know how to make a straight line. I didnt go today because they were too busy, now I deeply regret. Ended up having to cut my beard completely off because another place couldnt draw a line straight or crooked. PLEASE GET MORE STAFF, OR CREATE A VIP PROGRAM!!!

Ive only ever had positive experiences at Locals. Everyone Ive interacted with had been friendly and full of great advice. Im one of those terrible people who come to a salon and ask for a hair cut without much more direction than that... Tim helped me out by fixing my terrible overgrown mullet-pixie cut, talking me through every step and explaining his style suggestions. I would definitely recommend him, but Im sure all the stylists are wonderful. They also have great beer by Pikes Peak Brewing Company! What more can you ask for?

I got a great haircut today from Jeff Barron, one of the best haircuts Ive ever had, a true professional that I highly recommend. The discount program is puzzling, however, since they took two completed discount cards, (one complete top and bottom, and two completed at top) gave me one half back, and applied no discount to the $29 haircut. Thats okay, but I always give the discount as additional $$ on top of the $10 I always tip for a good haircut. Jeff, you should ask them for the rest of your tip.

Melissa cut my hair and did one hell of a job, see for yourself and this is a week and a half later. Of course, my hair is maintenance. I can’t vouch for every stylist or barber there, but if Melissa is representation of the quality that Locals provides, then I doubt you can go wrong. My wife even took our 5 year old and his hair ended up looking just as good :)

I just left this shop, and I have to say I feel freaking gorgeous!! Im a guy with long hair and that always seems to be a problem at the barber but not here. I was helped by this bad ass chick named T-REX, she trimmed me up just right and then even took the clippers out on my beard AND scissored my bushy ass eyebrows! Ive been going to the same stylist up in Denver for over a decade but couldnt make it this week... Was a little worried about trying someone new, but ABSOLUTELY not worried anymore! I will definitely be back, and you can bet your bacon Ill be asking for T-REX! She made me look damn good

I’ve been coming to Locals Barbershop for several years and Jeff Barron has been my barber the entire time. Jeff is an excellent barber and really takes time to ensure that I am happy with both my beard and hair. I look forward to seeing Jeff every three weeks. Locals is lucky to have him!
